mumof2aimingfor4 · 01/10/2013 20:58

moomin do you have a young womens antenatal unit near you? I know exactly what you mean about the judgy eyes and 'young' comments, I went through the same thing. Fx you'll get a wonderful midwife. On the day I went into labour I had the most amazing midwife look after me and she made up for all the stuck up ones ;) we're here for your vents honey.....you've made me want hot chocolate!

NannyPlumForPM · 01/10/2013 21:06

i'm not SUPER young any more moomin (24) but I had dd at just turned 21 so know what your going through! I think the attitude is.... Feck em! They will judge and thn you'll go to playgroups with your baby and they'll judge too and it doesn't get any better until you think to yourself "I am moomin, I have loads of energy, I am responsible, I am in a loving caring relationship and I don't give a FECK what you think of me because I know I'm awesome, DP knows I'm awesome, and lots of mners think Im awesome too so there."

NannyPlumForPM · 01/10/2013 21:08

(But I also know its bloody difficult and you think your on your own, rant vent and moan- especially if it makes you feel better!)

Cupcake1985 · 01/10/2013 21:13

Hi guys I'm exactly 6 weeks tomorrow but what food does that make me? I was excited I would be a blueberry but I think now its more like a lentil Hmm

hobbjobb · 01/10/2013 21:16

moomin enjoy your pregnancy and sod what people think - Dr Seuss said "be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind"

You are a grown woman who is having a baby, who is anyone else to judge you?

You are doing fantastically and sound more together than me and I have a decade on you!

McRedHead · 01/10/2013 21:20

Oh dear. I though I was doing really well. All symptoms gone. A little breath of energy back. And then.... I sat down with a group of my class of 5 year olds this afternoon and the top button on my trousers flew off! ANd I mean flew off. Thankfully managed not to take anyones eye out!

Might need to do a little shopping to accommodate my biscuit baby belly.

(DC3 I am bound to show a little earlier)

Squiffie · 01/10/2013 21:24

I've decided that I don't have morning sickness I have nighttime nausea! So there!

McRedHead · 01/10/2013 21:26

Squiffle That's when I had it last time. Only early evening though, thankfully I was fine going to sleep until 3rd tri when the dreadful heartburn kicked in!

moominleigh94 · 01/10/2013 21:33

Thanks everyone. Your comments have made me feel so much better :) think I'm just having a wobble, and bound to have a few more, but I'll keep what everyone's said in mind and it really does help, thank you so much :)

impatientlywaiting · 01/10/2013 21:42

Cupcake think you'll be a sweet pea at 6 weeks.

At 9'weeks tomorrow am I promoted
From raspberry to olive?

ThePFJ · 01/10/2013 22:05

moomin You are not young... you are over 18 (please tell me I didn't get that wrong and you are some genius 12 year old o.O) and you are at the most healthy age to be having a baby. Don't let judgey eyes get to you, they can all stuff it up their bums.

We are here for you, and to be honest us girls are probably the best to advise you, since we are all supermums to be or just super mums - just like you are already. You are trying to get the best info for your baby.. more than some would bother to do.... so huge hugs for you honey..... hug hug hug!!! xxxxxx You are doing great. I have a spare toffee crisp here... you can fight me for it have it if you want. Smile

ThePFJ · 01/10/2013 22:08

McREdHead Hilarious! Bless you....

I think we'll stick to Little Pea for now as it has a good ring to it... although I am officially 8+2 at midnight Grin

moominleigh94 · 01/10/2013 22:18

Haha I'm not a genius 12 year old :p I turned 19 a couple of months ago.

I don't understand why I'm still considered a young mum when I'm over 18. I'm an adult, I was old enough to consent to sex therefore surely I'm old enough to be a parent without judgey eyes? Sad maybe that's expecting too much of people though!

Thank you ThePFJ. You give amazing advice, I think you can keep your toffee crisp for that Grin

ThePFJ · 01/10/2013 22:30

sniff... I am all teary eyed again now moomin thank you.. I just get soooo emotional at the thought of anyone being treated differently for whatever reason. Being pregnant is our time to be amazing... and no bugger should hold us back from that!!

Night night girls - love to you all xxx

thistlelicker · 02/10/2013 07:32

Wahooooooo 9+0 :-)

Cupcake1985 · 02/10/2013 07:41

6 weeks! I celebrated by peeing on the spare cb didgi I had. It said pregnant 3+ ....... Obviously! Still slightly relieved though!

Squiffie · 02/10/2013 07:59

Urgh, woke up this morning struggling to swallow as my throat feels all sore and swollen Sad I feel rough as anything, its raining and I have to do the school run! Totally feeling sorry for myself Sad

ThePFJ · 02/10/2013 09:12

hugs Squiffie woooooooo thistle Horray! cupcake

Today I have 222 days to go until my Due Date...

I have a bad headache I can't shake off...
IT is POURING down out there right now. We have a leak in our porch/wash room and I had to do the school swim run....
Arghhhhhhhhh............... I just want to curl up and sleep today but I don't see it happening!

I went through my bounty pack last night and there are actually 3 freebie packs we can claim at this stage. An Emma's diary one, a Johnson's baby one and the bounty one. I bet you anything I'll get down to boots and they won't have any. They never did with DS.... maybe I'll ring ahead... Hmm - not today though... I feel too crap....

Spirael · 02/10/2013 09:16

I did that last weekend at 5+0, Cupcake. Wink It correctly came up at 2-3 weeks, which when compared to the 1-2 weeks I got a week earlier is a good sign as it means hormone levels are increasing. How I could possibly think they're not given the nausea, sore chest and overwhelming exhaustion, I have no idea...

Only 5+4 here, I feel like I'm dragging behind! Still only got an apple seed, and probably no heart beat yet. You guys will all wait for me when you've all got your gorgeous newborns on the postnatal thread and I'm still stuck here in antenatal, right??

Did not want to wake up this morning. It was dark and wet and cold, and I didn't get a seat on the bus. My brain is frazzled and I'm sat at my desk attempting to focus enough to work, while contemplating the distance to the toilets and trying to work out if I could make it in a rush if I need to. Given that I'd need to get through some security doors, probably not.

Only another 6 or so weeks until the second trimester... [sob]

thistlelicker · 02/10/2013 09:26

Aww spiral:-) course
We will wait!! Were all in this together :-)

ThePFJ · 02/10/2013 09:33

On my thread 5 years ago with DS we ALL waited until the very last one of us had popped Grin It was the most awesome count down EVER... That last month was magic... every day there were ladies measuring contractions together, deciding if it was time to go into hospital yet..... and then coming back a day or so later with birth stories and pictures of very cute babies.............arghhh I am tearful now..... balls.... It was just so bloody brilliant to have that kind of support..... We can soo do that for eachother can't we? Smile sniff... snort... I need a tissue.....

FacebookStoleMyLife · 02/10/2013 09:43

I'd be up for that PFJ! Although with 90+ of us it could get quite hectic :)

It's not raining here yet, so of course I should have been organised and done the post office run first thing (I run an online shop). But no, much too lazy for that. What's the betting by the time I get my act together it'll be peeing it down?

Oh Squiffie you poor thing. Get some hot squash with honey and snuggle up after the school run if you can x

ThePFJ · 02/10/2013 09:48

I think with 90 of us it'll be easier... hopefully then there will always be girls here to talk to when things get rough!!
Facebook you know you want to get down to the post office... can you pick me up some stamps while you are there?? Grin

dobedobedo · 02/10/2013 09:48

moomin I had ds when I was 21 and I got all the young mum comments and patronised and all that stuff. When ds was born it was actually to my advantage as I was determined to do everything "right" to prove all the doubters wrong. And it worked.

Now I'm 30, I'm afraid this one will end up sleeping in a drawer as I've got no one to prove wrong! Wink

Today I'm mostly feeling like I want to throw up on my computer keyboard. I have to attend a webinar (how wanky does that sound?) at 10am and I'm hoping I can at least not puke until after it's over. I'm also bloated to fuckery - since I've been pregnant, wheat makes me really bloated. And I had pizza for dinner last night. Oh well.
