Nanny we can't live without you!! So you have to stay.

Thistle hug hug huggggggggg

moomin I totally wish MW would come to my house... I am not lazy or anything. honest.....

mumof2 Yay for your scan...... don't blame you for being impatient.

After watching one born every minute though... I think I can wait for the actual birth... the woman on my episode was a screamer..... o.O
I really really have to try hard enjoy every moment of this pregnancy whatever it throws at me.. I can not/must not wish it away. It will probably be my last if it goes to term. I don't think I could cope with three kids... but hey you can all laugh if I am wrong eh?

dobedobedo · 01/10/2013 17:25

I barely cope with ONE! Never mind the 3 or more that a bunch of you have!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 01/10/2013 17:35

Once you have two you may as well carry on! One is great if you don't want to deal with the arguments and deceit that two involves. But I was an only child as was DP so inevitable that we want a big family.

PFJ labour isn't all that bad otherwise I wouldnt be going for baby no 3! But I will stress ladies please do swim as much as possible that is what I attribute my easy labours to, as they definitely don't run in the family!

thistlelicker · 01/10/2013 17:40

Two weeks tomorrow for my dating scan! I'll be 11 weeks!!

moominleigh94 · 01/10/2013 17:42

I'm signing up to the local swimming pool and gym soon, £17 a month and I get unlimited swimming, gym and classes, including aquanatal Grin

ThePFJ I don't want her to come to my house, I'd much rather do it at the doctors! My landlords don't know yet, and they sometimes turn up unexpectedly, plus my two best friends and my OH will be out at lectures, so OH can't help with his side of the family. Of the housemates that don't have lectures; one will just come and sit downstairs and talk to me constantly and doesn't seem to understand important meetings, the concept that not everyone is there to see her, or boundaries, one will probably come downstairs and ask me how to use the washing machine/fridge/cooker in barely-understandable French (he's a lovely guy though), and the other will thankfully stay in her room.

God I sound like a lovely person Grin I'm really approachable really.

Xavielli · 01/10/2013 18:42

mumof2 is right, once you've got two you just tuck the others under your arm and carry on :)

All 4 of my labours have been incredibly positive, I'm a screamer hehe I'm quite looking forward to it. Many so I never have to be pregnant again.

Choppa · 01/10/2013 18:45

Been to see midwife today...she took almost all of my blood and asked me a few questions. She confirmed due date for now is the 17th.

We discussed home birth as this is what I had with my DS...def like it give it a go again.

Banana ...your doc sounds like a complete imbecile (love that word).

Midwife coming to the house on 2nd Nov for next appt (I think full booking in) when I'll be 12 weeks ...seems a bit later but never mind. I have my green notes so am happy. Private scan Friday and hopefully complete on our house purchase so a big day on Fri.

Welcome to all newbies
Xx. 7+3

NannyPlumForPM · 01/10/2013 18:55

Oh bloody heck the washing machone's packed up :( :( Angry Angry [grumpy] [evil] [ready to attack] [find this miner some chocolate]

RosesInTheRain · 01/10/2013 18:55

yay, lovely midwife I remember from being pg wth DS1 3 years ago :) Feeling much happier now. She said she'd phone fetal medicine to make my consultant referral personally as soon as she'd finished clinic today too, so I might end up seeing FMU people before 12 week scan.

Feeling awful and have loads of work for tomorrow so will try to catch up another time!

NannyPlumForPM · 01/10/2013 18:56

Hehe Mner* not miner [wibk]

NannyPlumForPM · 01/10/2013 18:56

Oh feck it I give up

moominleigh94 · 01/10/2013 19:06

Oh yeah... how am I going to have blood taken? Hmm will she do it at my house or will it be done at the scan?

thistlelicker · 01/10/2013 19:08

I've just made a lush birthday cake for my gran tomorrow :-)

BoogiesBunny · 01/10/2013 19:29

Evening ladies

I hope I'm not a screamer but I am not great with pain. I meditate and do yoga so hoping that might help get me to a better place in the midst of it, at least for some of it. I plan on giving DH key things to say to me during the worst parts - he won't remember if I don't give him a crib sheet! Who knows how it will go - very exciting though! PFJ I started a little pregnancy diary yesterday to help me make the most of this pregnancy and remember every bit, even in the midst of my frustration that time is going slowly. I'm already forgetting little things.

thistle your amazing for baking a cake when you feel so rubbish - your granny will love it!!

Some baby bits arrived today - can't believe a wee one will be wrapped up in them in a few months!

7+6 (8 weeks tomorrow and into my third month - eeeek!! It's going soooooo slow but soooo fast at the same time!!).

McBaby · 01/10/2013 19:36

Just heard the little prune on my home Doppler thing :) makes the weeks of sickness seem more worth while. 9w3d today and 2w5d to our scan.

Squiffie · 01/10/2013 19:53

boogies I'm 8 weeks tomorrow too! X

mumof2aimingfor4 · 01/10/2013 19:58

Laying on the sofa watching tv while DP makes chilli con carne for dinner. He did have a little grumble about me milking it though!

AliOh · 01/10/2013 20:04

Aww it's so lovely to hear everyone talk about booking in, scans, heartbeats etc it's all very exciting! :)

I picked up my booking pack from the drs today so got my green notes, loads of info and a huge catalogue of everything you'd ever want to know about pregnancy, labour and birth and taking care of a baby ... by the size of it it may take me the whole 9 months to read through it!

moominleigh94 · 01/10/2013 20:07

Wah I feel behind Sad

I have no idea when my scan is likely to be, no idea when she's going to take blood from me... just no idea of anything Sad should I have gone to the doctors earlier?

Sorry. Just need to vent Sad

10+something today.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 01/10/2013 20:17

moomin please dont take this is a patronizing way. I was your age when I fell pregnant with dd1 and I personally feel that they treated me with less care and concern because I was young. I didnt speak up for myself and definitely wasn't confident. If your not happy with the way your care is being given/explained call and tell them how you want things to work. Its your body and your baby.

Minions · 01/10/2013 20:17

Hello, I've been following this thread for a month now and would love to join. I thought I would be due in May but 8 week scan showing EDD as 28th April - hope you don't mind if I stay :)

I'm 10 weeks today and been feeling sick almost all day for the last month. Other than that I'm just so delighted to be pregnant after 18 months of TTC. Booking appt at 11 weeks and scan at 12, getting very real now!

Been great following the chat on here, makes me feel much more normal...

mumof2aimingfor4 · 01/10/2013 20:43

Well minions the ladies here are a lovely lot and im sure they'll keep you ;) first baby? If so will probably be a Maybie anyway xx

moominleigh94 · 01/10/2013 20:45

mumof2 thanks, I appreciate the advice. All my lecturers and that have been lovely but when I told the receptionist, she did the whole "judgey eyes" thing, and the midwife today just seemed quite dismissive and again I felt like I was being judged, but I understand they're busy and stuff. I feel like I should be allowed to be happy about this, even though it was unexpected and unplanned, but three of the four healthcare-y people I've seen have looked at me weirdly and made little comments about me being young. I feel like if I act happy, they'll think I'm glad it's happened and I'm just in it for benefits or a house or whatever when it's not true Sad

OH is making me hot chocolate because I'm curled on the bed and just feel so low tonight and don't know who to talk to. I'm sorry for using this thread to vent, it should be a happy thread, it's just that the rest of Mumsnet seems like a scary place and I'm worried that if I post a thread, they'll tear me to pieces, and there doesn't seem to be a young parents thread anywhere... there's student parents but it's not the same Sad

impatientlywaiting · 01/10/2013 20:47

Welcome Minions and all the newbies.
Moomin I think they'll take your blood when they come to your house. I had my booking in appointment at a local sure start but had initially been told it would be a home visit and receptionist had said gone through what would be done at the appointment including taking blood.
