cupcake how much money do you need to have a girls weekend? If OH says you guys dont have enough money....there are nearly 100 of us ladies on this thread, if we all put in just £2 surely that would pay for a girly weekend?!!! Then you can stuff it up his nose and say ive got the money im going! Ha!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 29/09/2013 10:18

Hi mint, welcome :)

JuniorMint · 29/09/2013 10:28

Thank you Grin!

I'm enjoying having a read through this thread. Like a few people have said, I haven't really felt many symptoms so far. My nipples are a little bit sensitive but not unbearable, I've felt exhausted but I'm a Primary Teacher so usually do anyway! I've been feeling quite bloated.

I have my booking appointment on Fri 11th Oct so my next hurdle is to tell my Head Teacher- not looking forward to it as we currently have two teachers off on maternity leave plus another due in Jan and a pregnant TA too, and it is quite a small school!

Cupcake1985 · 29/09/2013 10:29

Lol thanks :) we have money generally he just wants us to save for maternity leave. He is the more sensible one! Feeling a bit better now I text him to say I was upset and he's sent me lovely messages back. I think I'm justified in feeling upset but maybe my hormones are making everything more extreme. Need some Brew and Cake as have been up for two hours and nothing has passed my lips because of feeling upset. Need to feed the Appleseed.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 29/09/2013 10:33

mint my booking in appointment is on the same day as yours! Ive got the bloated feeling too, cant actually wear my skinny jeans anymore as they're too tight on my belly already. Baby no3 for me though so will show really quickly anyway!
If a woman is employed and she's at the age where she can have a baby then the employer knows there's a chance she's going to get pregnant! Dont worry, it's their problem to find cover.

fourbythree · 29/09/2013 10:35

Can I join? I'm not sure of my due date... Had pg symptoms then a short early period (?bleed) but didn't test until another 4 weeks after that - could be anywhere between 7 and 10 weeks... Have scan booked for oct 17th so will find out proper dates then... Anyone else got experience of this? Feel really daft that when I've told people I'm pg they ask when is it due and I have to say 'no idea' ... Smile

mumof2aimingfor4 · 29/09/2013 10:36

Hormones are a wonderful thing, eh! Ive been flying off the handle with DP and crying over trivial things. Never know he may grab a bunch of flowers for you on way home (if he knows whats good for him!).

Magpie78 · 29/09/2013 11:12

Hello everyone, can I sneak in at the end, am currently 5 + 1 which apparently makes the 31st of May the date! Is nice to read about how everyone else is doing, my OH is convinced it is far too early to be having symptoms and was very confused when I started crying as he wouldn't Give me a cuddle! Hope everyone is feeling ok this morning.

AliOh · 29/09/2013 11:31

Wow welcome mint four and magpie can't believe we still have maybies coming! Congrats all.

four I know when my definite LMP was BUT I did have implantation bleeding on the day my missed period was due, if I hadn't been ttc and didn't know what to look out for then I could've easily mistaken it for a period (albeit a very light one!) sounds like you could be closer to 10 weeks :)

mumof2aimingfor4 · 29/09/2013 11:35

Welcome four and magpie

moobaloo · 29/09/2013 11:51

Wow this thread moves fast :) I am 6wks today and cried because I went to the wrong bus stop yesterday to pick someone up. Ahh hormones. Funnily enough we saw a friend recently who said "when are you two going to have a baby?" which struck me as rather funny as I am pg and she doesn't know! haha! They won't find out until Nov if I can keep schtum.

Squiffie · 29/09/2013 12:04

Morning ladies! Just marking my place as not got time to reply atm.

Hugs all round for those that need them Smile

dobedobedo · 29/09/2013 12:11

Hey and welcome to all the newbies!

I was just wondering, how many of us have other children or is this a first baby?

I have a ds who is 8 - he was the first person we told about being pregnant, although we swore him to secrecy! He's been on at me to have a baby for years, he's very sensitive and nurturing so I'm hoping he'll be a very cheap mother's helper when the baby comes! Grin

BoogiesBunny · 29/09/2013 12:16

Hey mint we're due on the same day - I don't have any symptoms either except achy boobs (which comes and goes) and there are a few of us like that on here. Jealous you have your booking appointment already - I hope I hear this week!

AliOh · 29/09/2013 12:20

dobedo this is our first and also first grandchild on both sides. It's actually the first baby on my side of the family for about 15 years! DP has a little sister who is 2 which is quite scary thought!

moominleigh94 · 29/09/2013 12:21

Welcome and congrats Magpie Grin

moominleigh94 · 29/09/2013 12:23

impatientlywaiting · 29/09/2013 12:34

Wow 3 new Maybies just this morning. We're having a busy day, welcome Four, Mint and Magpie.

Four try not to worry too much, there have been a few people on this thread with similar situations to you and aren't entirely sure. You'll find out soon enough at your dating scan. When are you having that?

Dobe I think about 50% if people are on their first baby in this thread. We've got the details on the stats page. I'll go and check.

impatientlywaiting · 29/09/2013 12:38

There are 93 of us now!!

Of the people who've filled in if/how many kids they have now.

42 are pregnant with their first babies
27 are pregnant with baby no. 2
14 are having baby no. 3
And 1 of us is having their fourth baby.

If you click the stats tab on the stats page there are some graphs for when people are due and the range of ages we have on here too.

This will be my first DC.

BoogiesBunny I got my booking appointment because I phoned the midwife to let them know it would be difficult for me to attend their Tuesday morning "drop in" clinic, which is where you're meant to collect your notes. She said it was find to not go to that, and that she would drop my notes off at my GP reception instead so I could pick them up and make an appointment while there. Hope you get yours soon!

Does anyone know anything about DHs/DPs taking time off work to attend appointments/scans etc? Is there any specific allowances?

TheAlyssWithTheMewlingQuim · 29/09/2013 12:55

Hi I am due on the 21st May with my second

mumof2aimingfor4 · 29/09/2013 12:58

Mint men do not have to be given time off for antenatal appts but im sure some places of work will allow extra lunch break time if made up at end of day. www.gov.uk/paternity-pay-leave/overview

Magpie78 · 29/09/2013 13:00
