Smitten1981 · 02/10/2013 10:54

Totally non-baby question.

Is it ok to use chicken that I froze in July? Just found some in the freezer for dinner but don't want to poison myself.

doobeedee · 02/10/2013 10:57

Have managed an (intermittent!) sleep. Going to try and get active now!

Warlin · 02/10/2013 10:59

Morning all

favellio that sounds horrendous. He looks so gorgeous though and I hope he gets to go home soon. How traumatic though.

So due date here....was up half the night with cramps and a few Bhs/ contractions but then fell asleep and woke tk nothing . I'm so fed up sitting around waiting though, it's driving me nuts. Sorry for the moan but so envoys of all the lovely squidgy newborns on this thread Envy.

Hope all the new mummies are doing well and recovering from the shell shock of childbirth. I didn't get that wow moment from my lady vaginal birth either...I was just so exhausted and a bit drugged up so I just wanted to sleep! Maybe this time will be different as the baby has kept me waiting.

Dh is working from home this morning to keep me company. He means well but I'd rather just be alone. Feel bad constantly moaning and he doesn't get why I'm fed up with everybody asking!

apperleydapperley · 02/10/2013 11:02

Favellio that is awful, you poor things, thinking of you.
Good luck doobeedoo

Sorry to all of you not feeling so great Thanks

I think I have now missed my very small nesting window. I am feeling absolutely exhausted, its a huge effort to walk upstairs, need to lie down again now. I really should do some housework, but can't even summon the energy to put last few bits into hospital bag - hope I don't go into labour today...

cazboldy · 02/10/2013 11:03

Just had a good old cry, because I have sold my horse and have loaded her up to go to her new home, and feel gutted. Sad

Then I was sick - I think because i cried so feeling proper sorry for myself.

I watched that Bridget Sad

Smitten I never had any until my 3rd pg!

hope you get on ok today pseudo can't believe they just don't get on with it!!

Thinking of you and Eliana Mon xxx

apperleydapperley · 02/10/2013 11:04

ps Smitten yes personally I would use the chicken as long as its cooked really thoroughly Smile

Sephy · 02/10/2013 11:07

Me too smitten, so long as it doesn't smell at all 'funny' then I'd eat it if well cooked.

roofio87 · 02/10/2013 11:12

I've cleaned our house this.morning, but feel it may be more to do with the mw coming round later than nesting!! feeling a bit rough and sicky but think I'm just looking for any sign that I might be about to go. feeling fed up and annoyed at myself for being fed up all at the same time!!!!

roxvox · 02/10/2013 11:23

I'm funny about chicken smitten, but would probably still eat it. Straight after defrosting it will still smell funny, so once it's fully defrosted give it a rinse with some water and then a sniff. According to my midwife, our senses are more powerful in pregnancy for exactly this reason, so we can sniff out whether foods are going to make us ill or not!

Hi Warlin my due date buddy. Which of us will go first I wonder?! My money says it'll be you Smile

claphammama · 02/10/2013 11:26

happy due date warlin! I hope things start moving for you soon. You are my warning that I shouldn't set my mind on a particular date... I had DS at 39+1 and I'm really assuming this baby will come by then. I will probably stand corrected!

MoN please don't cook!! Have a relaxing evening and let everyone pamper you as they should. And really hope you will like your MIL

caz sorry you are feeling low... must have been really upsetting to see him go...

shire, bowlfull, Bridget, mrsH thanks for reminding me that my DP is not a monster but just a basic male... bowlfull love your cosmetic bag attack idea (mine is quite heavy) and DP doesn't even mention MIL visiting once the baby is born, after he imposed her long visit on me last week. Too scared... (I voiced screamed my feelings about it last week)

doobee impressive you've managed some sleep! good luck

claphammama · 02/10/2013 11:28

smitten I would definitely eat the chicken if it's been properly frozen. 3 months in the freezers is OK.

Racheld33 · 02/10/2013 11:47

Sending lots of love to mon and Eliana xxxx

Had a sweep at midwife this morning after a night of a dodgy tummy, she says I am 2-3cm already, head as low as it can be, so expect things soon! Had cramps since then, just taken 2 paracetamol Smile

roxvox · 02/10/2013 11:48

Cross post - sorry to hear about your horse Caz. I get pretty emotional when we sell a car, so I can only imagine how upsetting it must be to sell an animal. Do you feel like she has gone to a good home?

40W today. In limbo between SC and SFW Smile

Warlin · 02/10/2013 11:56

Glad I'm not the only irritable one with dh's....they just don't get it. Dh went to bed before me last night as he was "tired" hasnt a clue!

rox yay we made it! I bet you will go first.

clapham I had my date set on 37 weeks so feels like I'm 3 weeks overdue already. Def don't go by last time would be my advice! Glad you voiced your concerns about mil!!

caz so sorry about your horse. Hope she is off to a good new home who will have lots of time for her Thanks

Slippysnow · 02/10/2013 11:58

Exciting news rachel progress is being made!

cazboldy · 02/10/2013 12:02

thanks all - it's for the best really - just a bit of a wrench.
I rehomed her from a friend because she got duped into buying her, and then found that she had been conned and she was dangerous and unmanageable. They suspect she was doped when my friend went to buy her.

I have had her nearly 3 years, and she is a truly different horse now. She has the chance of a good life now. But tbh she will never be a "family" horse and I couldn't trust her to behave 100% near the kiddies, which would obviously be complicated by the new baby.

She has only gone 3 miles away, and have spent a long time making sure that she has gone to a suitable, knowledgeable person.

And I still have the 2 ponies....

will miss her though.

ImpOfDarkness · 02/10/2013 12:03

How awful favellio, I hope they've launched some kind of investigation!

I have a bit of a random question. I've always been given the 27th Oct as my due date, but according to my mum in England that's not the date I'd be given if I were back home. I can't work out the weeks thing - I know Clapham is due before me but counting behind in weeks Confused. Given that we had our trigger shot + IUI on 27th January, when would you expect me to be due according to the British system?

cazboldy · 02/10/2013 12:17

Imp there is a due date calculator on here. Based on date of your last period..... if you were on day 14 when you conceived, that would make your due date 20th Oct.

But think a lot of us were altered to scan dates. I was put back by 4 days for example Smile

roofio87 · 02/10/2013 12:19

On my way to the hospital for monitoring again!! community mw came and says as hb still sounds irregular she wants me to go get checked again. to be honest I think she's being overly cautious as its always been fine on the ctg but I'd rather that than feel she was dismissive of things I suppose. everything else good, baby now only 1/5 palpable so still going down!!

Smitten1981 · 02/10/2013 12:43

Thanks guys, fajitas for tea it is!

claphammama · 02/10/2013 12:54

I had fajitas last night smitten :-)

Rachel good luck! sounds like it's your day for baby news.

rox happy due date to you too!

caz so lovely of you to care so much about this horse. I'm sure it will have a good home now and you have to put your children first x

claphammama · 02/10/2013 12:57

ah imp meant to say - I believe I ovulated and got pregnant on 30th Jan (pretty sure) and my own calculated due date (using the online calculator) was 24th October. They then changed it to 22nd after the first scan. I will be gutted if you skip the queue and will end up in front of me now Angry Grin

JellyCurls · 02/10/2013 13:22

Good luck Rachel I go later to see midwife, she better have good news for me today. Baby not moving today so looking forward to getting checked out

SeriousStuff · 02/10/2013 13:29

Oh Caz, I'm so sorry about your horse. I nearly bought one last year and now I'm glad I didn't as I would possibly be facing the same decision. At least you're close enough for visits.

xuntitledx · 02/10/2013 13:38

Oooh, must have been attacked by nesting this morning as decided that I wasn't happy with the nursery as it was so have been to work rearranging everything!
