I'm going to miss my bump...

PseudoBadger · 01/10/2013 19:49

I felt like that last time mnippy! Not so much this time....
BP a bit better now, ordered a Chinese delivery and will relax.

Sephy · 01/10/2013 19:52

Hooray pseudo, pleased to hear that.

Roxvox, yeah, that's the kind of injections! Hoping I'll get used to it over time. At least it's only to reduce the risk of something, rather than because something bad has already happened.

Thanks for your comments on c section vs natural birth Bridget, I hadn't thought of that way of looking at things. And legally pleased that you've had the 'right' feelings etc now, even if the c section was quite different to vaginal. Definitely going to download that book, thanks for mentioning it.

Well I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow & SFW (still f---ING working) & still struggling to keep up with you chatty ladies. Finally got my hospital bag packed tho, having been out to buy some even bigger pants (annoyingly the big pants from my last pregnancy no longer accommodate my once petite backside).

Saw the midwife today (another one I'd never met!) and actually got to listen to baby's heart beat for first time - yay, big smiles. Baby not engaged yet which is a good thing; if baby's early I stand no chance of getting a rest before he/she is born.

Hugs to all of you having a hard time

SeriousStuff · 01/10/2013 20:27

Nat sorry to hear about your toothache - it's one of those pains that you just can't ignore isn't it? Hopefully it will settle down slightly as the wisdom tooth stops pushing.

Had to go into hospital this morning because of significantly reduced movements from baby. But after being hooked up to their machine for a while, midwife was happy that everything's well. 38+4 weeks, is it too early to start encouraging baby to get out?

Racheld33 · 01/10/2013 20:48

nat from reading what you said did your dentist say there's nothing really obviously wrong but they think it might be wisdom tooth pain?
Unfortunately I see a lot of pregnant ladies with unexplained dental pain, can often be a few reasons... Sometimes the hormones are sprinting round which makes your gums so inflamed it can give you roaring toothache, sometimes the gums recede a bit which can give you really really sensitive teeth/gums, most of the time it is that the stress of late pregnancy causes you to clench your teeth when sleeping, which means teeth/supporting tissues are so sore that you mistake it as really bad toothache/wisdom tooth pain.
In general there is not much a dentist can do (sorry!) but if there is a chance you are clenching/grinding your teeth day/night then if you can try and relax your jaw as much as possible (think leaving your mouth open by a few mm's so you look a bit stupid as much as possible) that can help!

Sorry for essay! Grin

PseudoBadger · 01/10/2013 20:58

Nat did I see that you've got a cold? My sinus blockage goes to my teeth and makes them hurt. Sorry if you don't have one....

Natalieand · 01/10/2013 21:17

Thanks for the advice ladies xx

pseudo I had a cold about a fortnight ago but this tooth pain has been on going since 20ish weeks on and off xx

rachel the dentist is saying that the bottom left wisdom tooth has come through the gum line but that half of the tooth is under the normal molar and there fore putting a squeeze on the rest of my bottom teeth and that he can't remove the offending wisdom tooth until I deliver as I would need sedation of some kind and they cannot find anything wrong with any of my other teeth

Think that's what's frustrating me is that technically there is nothing wrong with the actual tooth causing me pain

Racheld33 · 01/10/2013 21:40

Poor you nat, if this baby would just come out soon for you, a big dose of ibuprofen would probably help that a lot!

xuntitledx · 01/10/2013 21:56

pink - I work for VM and whilst I can't help specifically with your issue, I can recommend contacting the twitter team if you have an account?

Get the password from hubby (assuming the account is in his name which is why they can't speak to you without confirming the password) and send then a tweet and someone will be in touch. Ask them to re-evaluate your deal and offer something better, they're normally able to do something to help!

Let me know if you get stuck though.

Sparkeleigh · 01/10/2013 22:03

Hey, checking in after a few days, I've missed so much!

Congratulations on all the lovely new babies! Seen the photos on fb and they're beautiful!

MoN and Pseudo, sorry to hear your news, hugs to you both Flowers

I've been spending my first couple of days maternity leave manically cleaning and tidying. I've been really restless and can't seem to settle. On the plus side I think my bump has dropped a bit, all the baby's movement is a lot lower down. Feeling a bit wierd and wondering if this means things will start happening soon. Probably not, but can't help hoping a bit!

favellio · 01/10/2013 22:21

hi everyone, thought I'd give a quick post delivery update on Jack.....
me and dh have moved into a bedroom on the neonatal ward to be closer to him, 24hr access etc as he unfortunately has 2 skull fractures after a horrendous induced labour, ending up with him being pulled out with forceps but the doctor didn't catch him in time and he fell off the bed, onto his head Sad

he's doing well and we're allowed to cuddle him on a pillow. I'm hand expressing colostrum for him, which he's taking through a syringe. I've tried him on the breast 3 times but he hasn't quite grasped how to latch on. He's getting fluids etc through a drip anyway so they're happy with him. fingers crossed we won't be here for more than a few days.
love to you all, sorry I haven't caught up so can't name check xx

MrsHoratioNelson · 01/10/2013 22:22

Spark I've also been doing lots of cleaning and tidying. The house has never been more organised!

My bump is also very low. Lots of jabbing pain in my cervix and my bump feels like it might actually drop off the front - I keep thinking I could do with retying it or sometiing, like its a sling that's gone droopy Grin. A sling with an eight pound bowling ball in it Grin Grin

Thank you for all of the advice re stretch and sweeps. The midwife may not even offer one, especially as I seem to have thrush again Angry but we'll see.

Sorry to hear that favellio. I am glad you're able to sleep nearby to baby Jack, but sorry you had such a traumatic labour. Fingers crossed you'll be able to take Jack home soon.
