Thats shocking favellio! Poor little Jack! really wish you all well. xxxx

Good Luck doobeedee

roofio87 · 02/10/2013 08:14

I genuinely don't know how I produce as much wee as I do at night!! up 6 times in 7 hours, and I'm not drinking anything!!!
sc @ 39+5. getting impatient now, I'm just desperate to meet him. seeing mw at home in a bit so will see what the plan is!!
doobee hope you get some rest now and contractions are back soon!!

Pinkforboys · 02/10/2013 08:16

Oh favellio you hear jokes about needing catching mitts in the delivery room, but you don't expect your doctor to really need one...Given that babies' heads are designed to morph and firm up in the first few months, will Jack's fractures heal alongside? Hope you're all out soon xxx

Pseudo surely you must qualify for your own bed at the Whit by now? Poor you Thanks

Nat have you tried brandy? I remember rubbing it on my gums as a kid... or perhaps you could try those teething gels and powders we give babies? am i sounding desperate? good luck xx

I wish I had that magic pain-relieving wand for everyone. At least it's not long now before the pains of pg will be gone not thinking about the pains of birth/post birth...

Mnippy · 02/10/2013 08:16

Cake fav - there's nothing to say really. Well done with the colostrum expressing. It will be okay in the end.

doobee - good luck! And pseudo, here's hoping you make to the section date.

Been awake since 5 am...

Pinkforboys · 02/10/2013 08:19

And thanks for all the Media Package advice. When prompted DH did that classic male vague thinking face and said 'oh, I think I may have changed the password'. Classic. Didn't write it down (yeah, cos our VM account is such a high security risk!!), but thinks he knows what it is. [sigh]

I'll still do some research and calls based on your advice- £88 seems a little pricey even if it has included Sports for a couple of weeks.

Good luck DooBee!!!

Sparkeleigh · 02/10/2013 08:39

Oh, fav, that's horrific. I'm so sorry Sad I'm glad you're getting snuggles, I hope Jack heals quickly and you get him home ASAP.

Good luck doobee!

MrsHoratioNelson · 02/10/2013 09:14

Good luck Doobee - I was getting a bit worried what with no babies appearing yesterday :)

Jelly I'm sorry your back is hurting - but I'm afraid I couldn't help giggling at the thought of your 6 yr old puttin on your socks. At least they're making themselves useful Grin

39+6 and SFC...

diege · 02/10/2013 09:27

favellio that is absolutely appalling Sad I really hope little Jack continues to improve and that you are feeling as assured as you can in the situation.
doobee best of luck - sounds like this could be it!
Thanks again for all the helpful comments about C-sections yesterday, feeling better about it now and focusing on the positives x

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 02/10/2013 09:42

Just catching up on last night's posts and can't believe what happened to little Jack. Oh Fav - I hope you both get home soon x

Did anyone watch "House of Surrogates" (BBC 4) last night? I didn't catch all of it, but it left me feeling very grateful for my lot in life.

Mnippy · 02/10/2013 09:47

Didn't watch it Bridget but you are right - I feel lucky to have got to this position.

I am officially out of things to do. I have made a 'waiting to go into the operating theatre' ipod playlist that I clearly won't be able/will forget to use.

Smitten1981 · 02/10/2013 09:58

Arghhh I'm so bored. House is spotless, can't walk the dog because she's still recovering from her op. I really don't know what to do with myself!!! 21 days and counting. Please come early baby.

By the way I'm pretty sure I've had no Braxton Hicks. Is that a bad thing? Is he going to stay in forever?

claphammama · 02/10/2013 09:58

favellio Shock Shock Shock... I'm so sorry you had to go through all of this... unheard of... Hope little Jack keeps getting better and better and you can take him home and forget about all this saga soon... which hospital did you go to by the way? sending you a big hug xxxxx

doobee good luck and keep us updated! Was getting boring - a day with no new babies (I say trying to contain my Envy...)

diege so sorry your placenta hasn't moved but glad you feel better hearing about all the good experiences others have had.

pseudo honestly... poor you... I want it to be 7th October now so you can be finally liberated from this BP... surely, having a newborn must be easier than this!

chickie thanks, good to know the film is good! It's had some amazing reviews but so did Midnight in Paris when it came out and I was really disappointed with it. Did you manage to paint your nails? Smile

My cleaner is coming in an hour and the house is a mess so I'd better tidy up a bit... it's really grey here and looks like it's going to rain any minute so I have no idea what I'm going to do with myself for 4 hours when she is here... but I realise these are first world problems so will shut up.

I'm also beginning to think that my DP is a schizophrenic. He can be absolutely amazing some days and a cold, sarcastic, insensitive prick on other days. He was the latter last night... all I wanted was to show him what's in my hospital bag and why and when I may need things - he needs to know. And I wanted to show him which numbers to call in case I go into labour. Hardly demanding. All I got was a deep sigh, rolling eyes and the "I'm tired" comment. An emotional evening or tears followed...

MotherOfNations · 02/10/2013 10:17

How awful fav. You must be feeling such a mixture of emotions.

Good luck doobee. Not long now iuntil you're having newborn snuggles hopefully.

I do exactly the same Nat. I wake up and take a few seconds to work out if I'm in any pain or if the bed is wet.

Well MIL and Dp's great aunt arrive tonight and I feel I should make the effort to make something nice for dinner but I really can't be bothered cooking especially since Dp tells everyone what an amazing cook I am so the pressure would be on. I'm hoping he suggests ordering in and anyway I think I deserve a relaxing night before baby Eliana arrives tomorrow.

Shirehobbit · 02/10/2013 10:17

I know what you mean about other halves, Clapham - I guess we're just entering another really stressful phase, like those weeks waiting for the first scan. But there is no date really to work to (unless there is a planned CS date) - it's draining, for us and them.
I tried to explain again, last night, to DH that the EDD is just the date given by which 50% of women will have gone into spontaneous labour, 50% will still be waiting!
We all want to be in that first half, but half of us will have to be after. I wish they wouldn't call it overdue, because it's not!

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 02/10/2013 10:18

Ahh Clapham - sorry your DP reacted in that way. When I suggested running through my hospital bag with my DP, he genuinely thought I was joking.

Needless to say, I haven't bothered.....I guess sometimes some men just don't "get it".

Shirehobbit · 02/10/2013 10:18

xpost MoN - it should definitely be a takeaway night for you xx

BowlFullofJelly · 02/10/2013 10:22

Good grief fav, so sorry you guys are going through this. Hope little Jack is better very soon - great name by the way (same as my DS).

jelly how come you are being induced at 41 weeks? I'm trying desperatley to not crack and ask for induction early as would really like to avoid this time. Madam seems intent on staying put - i literally dont feel anywhere near labour, ignore all twinges as don't believe it is going to happen. Focusing on the fact me and baby are healthy so i have nothing to moan about.

clapham i have the same with my dp - he may have had my make up bag launched at his head this morning after starting moaning abut how soon his mum can visit and for how long. The woman has only been to see ds once in the last two years, but apparently her feelings take precedence when it comes to visiting the newbaby Confused.

pseudo i can only imagine how pissed off you must be by now. Is it worth throwing a massive tantrum to try and get them to bring cs forward?

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 02/10/2013 10:22

MoN - an easy evening, with as little stress as possible, is definitely the order of the day. I can't imagine how you must be feeling.

BowlFullofJelly · 02/10/2013 10:23

Oh and good luck doobee - how are the contractions?

ananikifo · 02/10/2013 10:26

Good luck doobee! I love news of labours and babies!

pseudo I hope the new meds help until baby comes.

jelly I hope you feel more comfortable soon.

bridget I've downloaded the house of surrogates and I'll watch it after homes under the hammer. What a busy life I lead!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 02/10/2013 10:26

favellio that is awful, poor Jack, can't believe the dr didn't catch him, what an idiot.
I was in tears last night. Ds who has never been good at sleeping is getting worse and I just can't cope...... Or at least I couldn't last night! I'm just so tired and big and unwieldy, I struggle to lift him now and he wants to be cuddled but my bump gets in the way. I feel so useless for him. Really need this baby to come out now. Am wondering if I shouldn't have chosen an elcs as at least then I'd probably only have 10 days to go instead of potentially 27.....
Seeing my obstetrician later so will talk to him.

JellyCurls · 02/10/2013 10:32

bowlful getting induced at 41 weeks as I can no longer lift my daughters wheelchair in and out of car and she getting difficult to manage with my huge bump. Not sure I doing right thing but booked now. Was talking to a mum at school with a disabled child and because if that she getting induced at 38 weeks, same hospital different consultant.

Back really sore now so hope midwife can work her magic this afternoon and bring labour on but as she only about 5' I am not convinced her fingers will be long enough to do a sweep. Where are the tall skinny midwives when you need them?

Flyer747 · 02/10/2013 10:33

ThanksFor you and your family Fav I hope baby jack gets better asap. Xx

MrsHoratioNelson · 02/10/2013 10:43

Another one who can't convince DH to engage with the hospital bag - he doesn't seem to realise that when I'm in labour and screaming for X,Y,Z that will make it all better, he will be the one getting it in the neck and the one who will look like an idiot when he has no idea where the baby's clothes etc are.

It was only really on Sunday that he properly had a feel of the baby moving - and it took the baby doing a good impression of the Loch Ness monster to get him interested: we know there's something in there, but there's never been a confirmed sighting... He pronounced it "weird" and declared that he didn't like it very much. Oh really? How do you think I feel?! Hmm

Sigh...

BowlFullofJelly · 02/10/2013 10:49

Ahh I see jelly, well thats a much better reason than me just being an impatient nightmare. Hope the mw has abnormally long fingers for you Smile. Although I am going to be gutted that come Monday I will be the only 30th september due date still waiting....
