Hi all, can't remember where I had gotten up to last time i posted. have been reading but not had a chance to post!

SC @ 39 weeks today. Feeling quite uncomfy, with dull period type ache, and very grumpy to all those around me Sad as just can't seem to sleep at night, and then am constantly tired all day!!! would be nice if baby came before the wkend as dh and the boys are away Fri-sun eve..... which I was fine with, but am now having a wobble about!!!

So Glad Issac is better Hayle

Legally you sound like you are doing a fantastic job, and I think it is perfectly normal to feel guilty about neglecting one/ other of your younger/older dc - it's par for the course...... and incidentally not true...... you are just doing your best, but you only have 2 hands! If babies are fed/clean then I would be inclined to look after dd, but if you know the baby(ies) need you and she can wait a min, it's fine!! They and you all need to learn to compromise xxxxxx

Mon so sorry you have so much to deal with atm, am truly in awe of you xxxx

Falcon I have no experience of PND - but well done for recognising it and dealing with it so quickly - and I really hope you feel better soon. Flowers

Good Luck favellio Smile

Congratulations Cherry and anyone else who is a new mummy who I haven't congratulated either on here/fb. xxx

Umlauf sorry you are having such a job feeding. Nothing much to add to all the fantastic advice you have been given. Go easy on yourself xxx

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 30/09/2013 17:55

Huge congratulations Cherry - I bet he's absolutely gorgeous x

Is he the very first October baby on the October bus?

Hayle - so pleased Isaac is doing well.

Umlauf - I can't give any advice on the breast-feeding front (as I only managed 6 days with DD) but - if you do decide to move on to formula - please, please don't make the mistake I made of beating yourself up over it x

SeriousStuff · 30/09/2013 18:08

Congratulations Cherry!

Wicked was just going through the baby spreadsheet and can't believe everyone's been early so far!

Pinkforboys · 30/09/2013 18:13

Yey! Just sent off my final invoice for work and put an 'out of the office' note on my email. It's official. I'm on Maternity Leave Grin

Looking forward to finally stretching out on the sofa and letting Little Lady wriggle without catching her foot in my ribs.
All recommendations for catch-up TV welcome....

MrsHoratioNelson · 30/09/2013 18:40

Hurrah Pink but from personal experience, don't count on baby Pink not getting stuck in your ribs Grin

Just had a mammoth ordering session on Amazon taking my Prime trial for a spin - The Good Wife seasons 1&2 box set, a bunch of old films, a mirror for the car to keep an eye on the baby, an educational book that I probably won't read until Christmas and really stretchy supportive nursing bra for those Zeppelins my DM warned me about.

Oh, and some more nipple shields in a bigger size because I think the ones I've got might be too small. They seem to really squeeze the nipple so that it blanches, or is that right?

Congratulations cherry!

Can I ask for some advice? Have been to the midwife at 36 + 4 and baby is back to back!!! Have stupidly googled this to find some awful stories of labour so I'm determined to turn this baby!!!

Any advice on how???

Can't believe his many babies have been born early on this thread!!! So exciting!!!

moonblues · 30/09/2013 18:58

Congratulations cherry!

smithy leaning forward whilst sitting on a bouncy ball and spending time on all fours is meant to help. Though didn't work for me. Hmm

cazboldy · 30/09/2013 19:06

Smithy - this one is back to back too. Both of my girls were. One turned in labour, one was born face up. Neither were horrific labours (approx 2 - 2and a half hours, no pain relief with either.)

Moonblues advice is spot on though Smile

If you labour with a back to back baby, labouring on your hands and knees is a good position

JLSmithy · 30/09/2013 19:14

Thanks moon and boldy - good to know your labours weren't horrific!!! Think its time to dust off the gym ball and put it to good use!!!

SeriousStuff · 30/09/2013 19:17

JLS - don't panic! Mine was back to back until my appointment last week (when I was 38 weeks). All I did was make sure I always lay on my side, and sometimes, I'd go on all fours for a while before going to sleep. Not sure if this is how she managed to turn. They say that some will wait until you're in labour to turn so you've got a while to go yet.

Received a letter today saying that my maternity allowance application has been accepted. I've never been so excited about £136 before!

monkeytree · 30/09/2013 19:22

Congratulations Cherry

SC at 36+3. October tomorrow - makes it seem a little closer.

Silliest statement to an irritable pregnant woman (me) at work today. How long have you go to go? Just over 3 weeks reply wow that time has really flown!

Well yes when I look at it rationally then yes time has really flown when I look at the day to day struggle I currently have then no it's far from flown by.

Really, really grateful to be pregnant - I always thank my lucky stars every day after the struggle I had with fertility but still entitled to moan. Ironically our favourite name for DD2 (Arabella) has a meaning of answered prayer which is what she is in a way.

This really is about mind over matter for me getting through these last few weeks. I too would remain in the house if didn't have DD1 and was still at work.

OrangeBlossom2 · 30/09/2013 19:29

Congratulations cherry!
Hope favellio is well on her way now.
Well done little Isaac.

So tired I can't remember who else I wanted to reply to but Biscuit to all those who need it.

I join the hormonal over silly things gang. I wandered around looking for where staff meeting was tonight at four different ends of the building. Really painful trying to walk relatively quickly and I nearly cried with the frustration and was still late. My chocolate cake went down well though.

OrangeBlossom2 · 30/09/2013 19:30

Oh yes back to back baby, mine is too. midwife said no slouching on sofa, lots of on all fours, including in labour when it can also turn.

Wickedgirl · 30/09/2013 19:32

Pink......what will you do with all that time on your hands.......I bet your baby comes tonight!

Serious.......you must be thrilled. It isn't much but it all helps. I am only on stat maternity pay so am getting the same as you. It won't go far but at least it's my money

Monkey......I opened the door to the postman this morning and he said "blimey, you still not had it then. I thought you were due ages ago". Yep, that's gonna make me feel a lot lot better about still being pregnant. Thanks for that!

Tomorrow is the 1st.......I wonder who will be producing the first October baby?

OrangeBlossom2 · 30/09/2013 19:39

One more thing for anyone planning a water birth, my midwife said a lot of water babies fail their first hearing test after because they get water in their ears and often need it repeated a few days later and are fine so not to worry if that happens. Not sure why that would happen more so than after 9 months of swimming in amniotic fluid but thought I would share in a same it happens to anyone's baby.

PseudoBadger · 30/09/2013 19:41

I think my mum wins most ridiculous statement to pregnant woman of the day. She said "you know how you feel right now, how uncomfortable you've been and how tired? Well that's how I feel every day".
She's 63, determined to be old before her time, she really is.

pinkbuttons · 30/09/2013 19:42

Congratulations cherry! Cant wait to see a picture and hope your feeling ok after c section x

Glad to hear Im not the only one getting irrationally angry at people taking an interest in when im going to give birth. Couldnt help but lol at your postman wicked
Today my grandad asked if I could just hurry up and get on with it because he cant plan his week next week Angry cue grumpy response about how I havent been able to plan anything for weeks have sore back/hips/everything so even if I could plan couldnt actually get out and do anything. Imagine ill still get the phone call tomorrow morning "checking in" but feeling a bit guilty now... Eugh.

Sending sympathy to all those overdue, Im only 39+2 and already feel like this baby is never going to come out.

MrsHoratioNelson · 30/09/2013 19:44

monkey I had a lot of that before I went on ML - " wow, that's flown by, hasn't it?!"

Um, not for me Hmm

In fact, there are a lot of people getting my Hmm face at the moment Grin

xuntitledx · 30/09/2013 19:44

This one is back to back aswell!

I'm hopeful that he turns...I really don't want any intervention...

OrangeBlossom2 · 30/09/2013 19:50

My sister had my niece at home back to back with no pain relief other than tens and pool and no intervention untitled, doesn't mean you will have to necessarily. She told me this week it isn't too bad but I am sure in the past she has said it was very painful! Spin spin spin babies!

JLSmithy · 30/09/2013 20:00

You have all put my mind at rest!!! Maternity leave starts Friday so I may the spend the following 2 plus weeks on all fours!!!!!

Warlin · 30/09/2013 20:24

Uh people are so annoying. I'm fed up with comments from people I hardly know when out with the dog, such as. " are you still here?", "still no baby?" And my particular favourite, "you're huge!". All such helpful comments.

These last days/ weeks are def challenging. Today I've started having shooting pains down from my groin down my legs...no idea what they are but they bloody hurt!

xuntitledx · 30/09/2013 20:55

Good to know orange Smile

BowlFullofJelly · 30/09/2013 21:08

Ug, no sweep from the midwife today as baby is still completley free! Had a meltdown and told them to check the heartbeat and let me leave, don't want to talk about it Blush.

Bye bye due date, hello overdue baby and pissed off mummy Sad
