monkey glad you feel better after sending the email. 7 is definitely still a child and not a young women. It's not like she's 13!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 28/09/2013 19:22

Clearly brain addled by pregnancy of course I must buy shoes!
John lewis have some lovely Christmas outfits. I'm going to get the reindeer one, already have the snowman one from last year Grin
flyer I will let you know if the mamaroo is any good. I have my fingers crossed it will be, we already have two bouncy chair things so it was a bit of an impulse buy!!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 28/09/2013 19:23

Psuedo I feel the same, I never got this far with ds so it's all new to me- can't say its that great to be honest!! Except it is obviously better to have a longer cooked baby!

PseudoBadger · 28/09/2013 19:46

It has up and down sides Shooting :o

xuntitledx · 28/09/2013 19:57

None of my baby eviction techniques are working so feeling very frustrated Sad

I've also been spending money, mostly shopping for Christmas and buying more baby stuff that we don't need

Umlauf · 28/09/2013 19:57

I want to go home so I can catch up with the thread!! My phone has something against Mumsnet! Sad Hospitals should have wifi...Angry

Bertie STILL hates my boobs Angry starting to panic BFing wont work at all. All the other Mummies here are managing I feel left out! Lady in next bed has called her daughter Laia (pronounced Liar) Hmm ...

JellyCurls · 28/09/2013 20:04

Operation "Evict JellyBaby" is on hold as have just heard local hospital is full and will transfer me to nearest one with a bed. Probably Glasgow somewhere but that's a good 40 drive and considering I went 2cm to holding DS in 2 hours this is not something I want to do also don't want dc3 to be a weedgie, no offended MoN let's hope all my gym ball bouncing hasn't started something

OrangeBlossom2 · 28/09/2013 20:11

I decided against shopping for cake ingredients until DH got home to come with me so am a failed domestic goddess for now flyer. Lady at the checkout wanted to know why I said buying 21 bars of chocolate and spending so much money on it. I wanted to pretend it was a mad pregnancy craving and to mind her own business but it am too polite.

We went for a very slow stroll around the park at the back of our house before shopping. nice to get some fresh air after doing not much all day but I am now exhausted, have sore hips and a very tight tummy. I am going to be pretty incapacitated for the next however many weeks are left of pregnancy I think. Decided the walk would be nice when in early labour to move things along and to push the baby around in the pram.

Umlauf is there any reason you have to stay in hospital? When can you go home and relax with your new little family? Sorry you are panicking, are there alternative sources of help with feeding rather than the hospital midwives?

OrangeBlossom2 · 28/09/2013 20:11

Argh at closed hospital jelly! Cross those legs!

PseudoBadger · 28/09/2013 20:11

Oh Umlauf :(
Forgive me if you've tried the following! Are you spending most of your time with your boobs out doing skin to skin? Literally have him lying on you between your breasts and let him move around and/or try to latch on as he wishes. Both wear as little as possible, but put a dressing gown or something over you both when visitors come. Keep him on you as much as possible.
Good luck!

monkeytree · 28/09/2013 20:13

Sorry about the rant earlier, I realise a lot of ladies are having to deal with health issues at the moment and my rant seems insignificant in comparison but as always thanks for your support.

Pay day soon and yes money seems to be flowing out like water!

Shirehobbit · 28/09/2013 20:19

Sending loads of positive vibes to you and Bertie, Umlauf x

Hope baby JC behaves until your hospital has space, Jelly

I really do not want this baby hobbit to make an appearance, yet (that pretty much puts me in a minority, yes?!).
Full of cold, exhausted, still processing finishing work for maternity leave and the inspection - I've had a pretty weepy day.
Would someone give me a bit of a boot up the backside and tell me to pull myself together, please?

Hope everyone is having a nice Saturday evening. I really miss Wine tonight! But I guess I couldn't really taste it with this cold anyway Wink

funkky · 28/09/2013 20:27

rachel welcome to the overde club! Am now 40+3 and have induction booked for when am 41+5. Hopefully lo comes before then. Funny, I was so anxious before due date about baby coming but now just over it. Everything is ready, taking each day as it comes and sleeping loads!

Still jealous of all new mums though and waves to new mums!

flyer do you mind if I pm you to join the fb group? Thanks!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far.....

OrangeBlossom2 · 28/09/2013 20:30

Shire I have always been an exhausted, tearful wreck after inspections after days of not sleeping, eating, running on nervous energy then crashing. let alone when leaving a job on the same day and adding pregnancy hormones to the mix. Allow yourself to indulge and wallow this weekend then shake it off and enjoy your maternity leave next week. Hope the premature end of term cold disappears soon.

Watching strictly while DH makes dinner. Yay!

Shirehobbit · 28/09/2013 20:40

Cheers Orange Smile
I guess it is a bit of end-of-term-itis with knobs on.

Flyer747 · 28/09/2013 20:42

Of course funkky go ahead and pm me then i will add you

Natalieand · 28/09/2013 20:49

umla how comes u can't come home yet?

Sorry that things aren't going to plan MoN

Dh got paid yesterday so have been buying a few bits online too, mainly eBay so nothing too exciting although dh did just buy himself an iphone5 :-0

'Suprise' baby shower went well got lots of pressies dd wasn't impressed with everyone jumping out saying suprise to us so luckily I got to deal with that instead of my pretend suprise face lol played a few games ate lots of food chatted was lovely :-) when dh got home from work I told him I knew about but just said all I knew it was happening I pretended I knew no other details and that I had only known a few days as he felt disappointed he had forgotten to cover his tracks lol

Umlauf · 28/09/2013 20:50

Thank you for advice Smile Im trying to stay topless but im sharing a room and feel bad for the other ladys dh! A 3 night stay is standard in Spain they just do all the tests while ur in, im comfortable and at least its not my own sheets im ruining!

re: feeding he just gets really worked up if i put him anywhere near my boobs so no chance of a latch Sad he is having expressed colustrum from a syringe which he likea but when i put it on and around my nipple he wont touch me. he is really strong and is managing to push my boob away! Midwives quite rough and forceful with pushing him on but he wont suck when on he just lies there mouth open until hes released. Im wondering if my boobs are too big for him maybe.

There is la leche liga here but i dont do spanish well on the phone Sad I dont understand why a bioligical necessity is so hard!

Flyer747 · 28/09/2013 21:03

Umlauf I hope little Bertie will start feeding from you boobie, it must be getting to you Thanks

Shire hope tomorrow is a more upbeat day for you Wine. Just think next week you can join in with the 'Daytime Maternity leave' chat on Barbie & Ken, Sindy's and action man Grin something to look forward too.

PseudoBadger · 28/09/2013 21:05

It's terrible when midwives are so ill advised that they shove the baby on. That happened to me too. Hang in there with trying, and I know that my feeding improved as soon as we could relax at home - and that was after 7 days so you'll be fine after 3 I'm sure xx

MrsHoratioNelson · 28/09/2013 21:08

Sorry you're having a hard time Umlauf.

Just back from having a curry out - mine was a bit hotter than I expected and I wasn't planning on evicting baby Nelson quite yet :). Mind you, if he or she insists on hoping up and down in my pelvis, I am going to get the bailiffs in. Made me wince quite a lot and I don't think the people at the next table were impressed Grin

favellio · 28/09/2013 21:17

Just got back from being monitored. Think my waters are leaking. Had a big trickle around 2.30pm and lots of tiny dribbles since. Midwife is fairly sure they've gone so gotta go in tomorrow at 2.30pm and be tested properly. I'm really hoping I either go into labour naturally or they stop leaking and replenish. I don't know if I fancy an induction. I'll keep you all posted tomorrow xx

MrsO27 · 28/09/2013 21:18

Sorry clapham. It won't be 5-6 weeks....(no one say the word November)
Glad you enjoyed the baby shower nat
Can I ask a question about bf to those who have done it before? Just wondering in the early days how you manage your own sleep. Do you sleep when baby is sleeping or just at set times?
