Clapham I've had one text this week too, only 37 weeks tomorrow! Though we did just tell people 'sometime in October' so not unreasonable.

claphammama · 28/09/2013 11:13

Natalie MIL vacates tomorrow... and OUCH... go easy with the razor down there!! I had a bikini wax yesterday so feel ready now. Also, it was a good way to escape MIL for 20min as she couldn't follow me inside.

orange you are right... and people can't possibly remember when exactly we are due. They just know it's getting close. These text don't annoy me at all to be honest, I was just surprised to get them so early.

and jelly forgot to say last night, I would also get p*ed off with DP for having a bottle of wine when I'm 39 weeks... saying this mine did last night but it's still relatively early for me and he had a really tough day in the office so I didn't say anything. It's going to change very soon though

MrsO27 · 28/09/2013 11:24

Babies galore and still not into October! Congrats char1eston. Another quick birth, you and hayle will have to share your secret!

Join FB ladies! The baby photos are lovely.

SC at 36 + 3. Still feels like it could be ages before I have my newborn cuddles. Even as much as 5-6 weeks away... Jealous Envy

textbook · 28/09/2013 11:41

Thanks Chick for the heads-up re day 10, I've set a reminder on my phone to have an easy day and keep on top of my meds Smile

Tarlia it's interesting how differently they do things in different places - my stitches are all dissolvable this time, and I have a huge gel dressing which stays on 5 days post-op. This seems much better than with dd1, when I had to remove my own dressing in the shower 6hrs after the section and nearly fainted doing so and had stitches with little bead things on the end that the midwife removed at home. Your glue sounds good - I like anything which sounds secure!!

ShockShockShock Surprised-face practice for Nat's baby shower!

apperleydapperley · 28/09/2013 11:42

Congrats char1stone enjoy your newborn bundle!

Quite surprised I haven't had any of those texts yet at 38 +5 - sure they will appear soon!

Agree with the DH/DP drinking thing - mine went out for a quick drink last night (after 2 glasses of wine) saying 'you won't go into labour tonight though will you?' Hmm well if i could predict that then we'd all be happy wouldn't we?! I've said from 39 weeks he needs to be able to drive at all times; i don't think thats unreasonable.

I take my hat off to anyone with house guests atm, i don't think i could stand that - you must have patience of saints! It wouldn't bear thinking about having my MIL around all day and night Clapham!

PseudoBadger · 28/09/2013 11:50

Has anyone heard from Bridget lately?

Flyer747 · 28/09/2013 11:51

No pseudo she's gone awol

ImpOfDarkness · 28/09/2013 12:10

I'm fed up today. Combination of grey skies, rain, nothing but crap on telly, sore back, and DP working all weekend. Though he did bring me back a free orange t-shirt and a pile of leftover cakes from last night's gig, bless him Smile

Mnippy · 28/09/2013 12:17

Ooh I'd love some cakes from DP! He's gone to Waitrose, maybe he'll bring me back a surprise yeah right

I just burst into tears upon hearing the very end few seconds of Ed Sheeran's song 'Small Bump' for the first time. I always thought it was a sweet upbeat song as I never heard the end. Aggggghhh

Mnippy · 28/09/2013 12:19

P.s. congrats to the new mums! I can't remember when I last posted so can't remember if I've already congratulated people.

Umlauf, hope feeding gets less stressful. I'm sure many of us will have our share of challenges whether its feeding/sleeping etc. remember it is not your fault and Bertie loves his mummy regardless of the breast feeding situation!

OrangeBlossom2 · 28/09/2013 12:28

Going to make a big birthday cake for DH and one for work for my last day, my shopping list is:

20 big bars chocolate
7 blocks butter
2 bags sugar
20 eggs
2 tubs cream
2 bags icing sugar

Can't go far wrong with that lot Grin Cake Cake
Just got to get out of my pyjamas first...

legallyblond · 28/09/2013 12:37

Textbook and Tarlia... So funny how the c section stuff is different everywhere! My dressing was just like a thin white plaster and I had to take it off on day three. Totally painless. The stitches are dissolvable... Not sure if they've dissolved yet... Now, on day 18 (17 if the c section date is day zero) I feel 100% recovered. The scar itself is just numb. I can do all bending, lifting, walking, gymnastics with DD(!) that I need to.... I stopped taking the painkillers after about a week and a half.

OrangeBlossom2 · 28/09/2013 12:38

Eek at gymnastics legally! So pleased you are feeling well.

Haylebop12 · 28/09/2013 12:42

I have a house guest too... Since Isaac is stuck on hosp my mil has come down. I wouldn't mind if she didn't go on how tired she was all the time and came out with a little corker of "you look like you've still got him in there" yeah thanks for that one Hmm did you expect a flat stomach on day 5?

Anyway update on Isaac is that his antibiotics have stopped so no cannulas. His breathing is much calmer and he's on minimum oxygen ATM. His prongs will be removed either tomorrow or Monday to see how he copes on his own.

Congrats char1 sounds like we have very similar labours although my contractions ramped up whilst I was at hospital so didn't leave...! I wouldn't have minded a home birth though :-)

OrangeBlossom2 · 28/09/2013 12:46

Sounds like he is on the mend Hayley. I hope it isn't too much longer to wait until he is home with you.

Natalieand · 28/09/2013 12:56

Glad to hear he's on the mend hayle and Shock and MIL comment!

legally glad to hear you are feeling back to normal! I can't believe they r 18 days old :-0 pregnancy goes so slow doesn't it then when the baby/a arrive it flies by

2 hours until the baby shower now and I'm bored out of my skull, the thought of doing the housework first is hardly exciting me

HeffalumpTheFlump · 28/09/2013 13:57

Hayle - Shock at your mil's comment!!!! She is one brave lady saying something like that to a post natal woman. That would be enough for me to murder someone I think!! So good to hear Isaac is doing well :)

Legally - great to hear you are doing so well after your cs :)

Orange - can you make me some Cake too? It sounds yummy!

Wickedgirl · 28/09/2013 14:01

Hayley......... My dad said the same thing about me to my sister 5 days after having my 3rd. Where the bloody hell do they think all of that extra skin etc is going to go in such a short amount if time?

Natalieand · 28/09/2013 14:39

Off I go to my suprise suprise xxx

Flyer747 · 28/09/2013 14:44

Have a lovely time Natalie.

I'm off to bake a cake Smile

Sanjifair · 28/09/2013 14:55

Hayle, my own mother said to me 'but you still look pregnant!' the day after giving birth. Just not necessary!

roofio87 · 28/09/2013 15:17

Have fun nat!Grin
flyer fancy popping that cake over to mine?!? Wink
I'm just chilling knitting and watching breaking bad! dp is out so enjoying some me time!!

Haylebop12 · 28/09/2013 15:17

It's bad enough she said it anyway but I'm super emotional today. A mixture of being totally fed up that Isaac is still in hosp, running backwards and forwards from there (although its less than a ten min drive) and tiredness as I'm getting up in the night to express. Ho hum.

Taking dd to a party in a bit. Change of scenery and to get out!

claphammama · 28/09/2013 15:37

oh no hayle... baby blues? It must be so hard but he will be with you very soon and it will all be forgotten. Hope you feel better later xx

orange and flyer such domestic goddesses...

apperley my patience has now officially run out... Smile

and MrsO don't you dare mention potentially 5-6 weeks... I'm only one day in front of you and refuse to think that it may be longer than 3 or max 4 weeks!

true, we haven't heard from bridget for ages... hope she is ok and hope all is good with terrified...

MotherOfNations · 28/09/2013 16:16

I've Bern wondering about Bridget too. I hope all is well.

I had my second steroid injection and fetal monitoring and as soon as the monitor was strapped on she started dancing around like I would on a pre-pregnancy Saturday night.

I asked to speak to an obstetrician about hay had happened at my appointment yesterday. She hasn't been involved in my care so couldn't say too much but she read the letter that the cardiologist has faxed to them yesterday prior to my talk with the pediatrician. In it it said I fully understood that my baby would be sent to Yorkhill and would be having an op to place a shunt in her lungs a few days after birth. It's the first I heard. Obviously if all this is what's best for Eliana then that's how it's got to be. I just wish I'd known sooner so I had time to prepare myself mentally.
