morning all! congrats char1stone glad baby arrived safely in the end.

sc here @39+1and the texts are starting up. Most are just my friends wanting to know how I'm feeling etc which are nice, some are just asking if I'm in labour yet to which I tell them to f off!!Grin I love my friends but as none of them have done this yet I don't think they get how annoying it is. dp is out today and tonight for his mates bday, he's driving and not drinking but after hearing charls story im thinking I'll have to get him back asap the second I might feel anything lol. I feel bad he can't drink, even though I've not been out in 9 months and am missing the birthday party of 4 of my best friends tonight! I don't think he sees what a big sacrifice pg is sometimes, whenever I complain he just says "yeah but you wanted it" which is true but doesn't make it easier!! sorry for the random rant, just fed up of waiting for baby now!!

hope everyone else is well and slept alright Smile

MrsHoratioNelson · 28/09/2013 09:06

Roofio at least they're honest about why they're texting "just wondering how you are" Grin

I feel like saying I'm pregnant, not stupid!

Congrats charleston, glad you had a nice quick time of it and jealous of you being snuggled up at home with baby.

Enjoy your shower today nat

Flyer747 · 28/09/2013 09:15

Congratulations Char1 brilliant birth story. He is so cute and a really good weight.

Mon are you going to go for monitoring because of reduced movements or just see how it goes?

Roofio I have the texts too...latest one was quite nice asking "How is my favourite pregnant lady" I just respond "fat and fed up" Smile 2 friends posted on my fb wall asking if I'd popped yet, one thought because I'd gone offline on Skype I was in labour! People's imaginations honestly!

Went for dinner last night ate too much Baklava for dessert and hallelujah I didn't have reflux, wonder if my bump has dropped.

tuckingfits · 28/09/2013 09:32

flyer perhaps baklava is the cure. Didn't think of that did you?! You could make a fortune...

MotherOfNations · 28/09/2013 09:33

I'm going in this afternoon for my second dose of steroids Flyer so I'll mention the reduced movements then.
I really want Baklava now.

legallyblond · 28/09/2013 09:34

Huge congratulations Char1eston!!!

I am almost tempted to rejoin Facebook to join the FB group... I left after having DD for various reasons.

MoN - I was told to expect reduced movements after the steroids.

OrangeBlossom2 · 28/09/2013 09:40

legally it is a private group so no one else can see.

Flyer747 · 28/09/2013 09:45

Join join join join legally said in a chanting way as orange said its private so no one can see if you post anything.

MotherOfNations · 28/09/2013 09:48

I know a few of you had reduced movements Legally but I thought I'd be able to provoke some response in her. The movements seem to be picking up a bit now though.

Flyer747 · 28/09/2013 09:49

Orange did you wear Jo Malone Orange Blossom at your wedding? I remember you saying your mnet user name was after your wedding perfume? I love the smell, in fact I love most of the Jo Malones.

OrangeBlossom2 · 28/09/2013 09:52

Yes I did flyer. It attracted all the insects! But smelt lovely.

Flyer747 · 28/09/2013 09:54

Haha Grin

OrangeBlossom2 · 28/09/2013 09:54

MoN I am sorry things are so tough at the moment. It must be exhausting one thing after another. No advice but thinking of you. Hope the second injection is ok.

legallyblond · 28/09/2013 09:58

Glad you're getting something now MoN. You should mention it this afternoon as you'll be reassured with being on the monitor for a bit.

MrsZzz · 28/09/2013 10:01

Thanks for all the good luck messages... No baby here yet. Still getting mild contractions but making very slow progress. I think a long walk might be in order this morning... Still only 39+1 but a bit sad LO didn't make it yesterday as it was the anniversary of when DH and I got together.

Hope the movements pick up MON and the midwife can explain things to you properly, and massive congrats to Char

I haven't had the dreaded messages yet this time but I remember throwing my phone quite violently last time around! One of the hazards of late pregnancy I think.

Tarlia · 28/09/2013 10:04

Thanks, p.buttons. DS gets better as the days pass, which is at least something. It's been different as mum has been staying too, but she has returned to the UK this morning, so hopefully he will settle now.

GT how are you doing? How's the SPD? I'm still hobbling on crutches :(

mon hope E starts dancing around soon.

legally join us!!

OrangeBlossom2 · 28/09/2013 10:04

DH and I got together on 3rd November Mrszzz, I hope our little one doesn't wait that long to arrive! It is possible Confused

favellio · 28/09/2013 10:05

Enjoy your baby shower Nat. Remember to look surprised lol BlushBlushBlush

Tarlia · 28/09/2013 10:22

nat you are wicked for making him sweat. Haha. Hope you have a lovely afternoon x

JellyCurls · 28/09/2013 10:30

How do I join the face book group? Thinking seeing some baby pictures would be quite nice just now, need something to help turn my frown upside down

Flyer747 · 28/09/2013 10:46

Jelly if you want to join you'll need to PM your real life name and a brief description of what your profile pic looks like on fb, I will then add you as a friend and invite you to join the group. It's private so none of your RL friends will see anything you post.

claphammama · 28/09/2013 10:58

I already responded on Facebook but congrats again char1!! What a story... but it sounds like it all went well and you actually loved being at home and having it at home? you don't sound or look distressed in the slightest! I know 4 people (all quite close friends...) who didn't get to the hospital on time - 2 babies in the lounge, 1 baby in the bedroom and 1 baby in the car...! and now you... So asking myself - how often does it actually happen?? your story seems so good though and he looks lovely x

Natalie hope you have a lovely shower and manage to act super surprised! how lovely of your mum to organise it for you Smile

Mon, pseudo - hope you managed to get some sleep and are feeling better this morning? thinking of you x

umlauf hope the little Bertie is feeding better today? as everyone else said, it can take a couple / few days to work. Don't give up

legally and jelly join us! it's very private and it's so lovely to see people and babies.

talking about annoying texts, I got 2 this week asking if I've popped. Thought it was a bit early at 36 weeks. I'm 36+4 today.

I'm in a really foul mood today... I woke with a lower back pain and I'm just fed up with having MIL around asking me the same questions and having to chat nicely all the time. I spent 4 days with her, mostly me and her from morning to night and just had enough today... so I'm now in bed, hiding in my bedroom pretending to sleep... pinkforboys the perverse desire to be rude to people you mentioned the other day? I have it today. So decided to retreat and hide for a couple of hours until DP comes back with DS from football, as she is a lovely lady and really doesn't deserve to see my exorcist side...

On the funny note, DS told her this morning at breakfast, totally out of the blue "grandma, you know it won't be long before you die?" She took it very well indeed and laughed: "thanks, it's always good to know when one's time is up".

char1eston · 28/09/2013 11:00

Thank you for all the lovely messages Grin

Legally - why don't you sign up to fb with a fake name and just use for this group?

Natalieand · 28/09/2013 11:04

Ok so I'm 37+5 and instead of recovering have u popped texts my mum and dh keep txting asking what I'm up too what plans have I got and mum even said what does dd want for dinner I'll go shopping now (she's never done this in the 3 years she's been alive) she's often cooked her dinner if I've been there anyway and stayed late into the afternoon. So even if I had no idea about the shower I would definately be suspicious by now I think

MoN hope u get some reassurance later with monitoring xx

legallyand jelly one word for u ladies - JOIN!

clapham how long isit till ur MIL vacates?big LOL to your ds at breakfast u just have to laugh at what little ones come out with recently, dd has been asking where things come from lol 'where does sugar come from? Where does pooHmm come from? Where does grapes come from lol

All of those wanting to have a pre birth trim... Don't I actually just cut myself down there with a razor... Not pleasant at all lol

roofio I don't think its un reasonable not expecting dh too drink when u could 'pop' any time
