pink well remembered galway im jealous must be lovely

is it just me is anyone else not bothered with the sun normally i ,love it but i cant be doing with it well strange will make the most of it tomorrow will get the pool out ive decided

PinkTulips · 13/07/2006 12:16

Feathers - was a concious decision not to steralise as my opinion at the time was unless i started steralising my boobs before every feed it was all a bit pointless really. i mean where do you draw the line? you'd hardly sterilise every toy she'll put in her mouth and disinfect every guest who'll give her a kiss so as my doctor so eloquently put it 'its like putting the gate in the middle of the field', i wanted her to e exposed to bugs early inlife to strengthen her immune system for later life and it seems to have worked.

each to their own though, i'm not saying my way is better and i hope i didn't come across like that Sarahlou

luna - hope your day is improving, my dd did something similar the other morning. i went into her at 5am when she cried and she'd taken her nappy off herself and handed me her poo as i walked in with a big grin on her face... not a good way to wake up!

PinkTulips · 13/07/2006 12:17

i know booby, normally i'm sun mad but this year i'd prefer to just loll around on the couch indoors, have to force myself out with dd.

dressedupnowheretogo · 13/07/2006 12:18

cant be bothered to eat either which is particulary worrying as i normally cant stop eating

PinkTulips · 13/07/2006 12:21

snap on that too booby, all i managed yesterday were noodles and some biscuits, remember i had the same last time in the weeks before dd was born though so not too worried, at least i'm not gaining much more weight this way as if i have to carry around much more flab i think i'll collapse!

dressedupnowheretogo · 13/07/2006 12:26

all im living on is glasses of oj with lots of ice the odd bowl of pasta with pesto and rice with salad cream and i only eat at night must say i always have my weetabix so i feel ive ate something healthy but after that anything goes

eeny i miss you come back

sal it was lovely to hear from you

eenywifemum · 13/07/2006 12:28

Hi everybody

How are you all? I am pretty tired - I havent been sleeping well anyway and I barely slept last night. It wasnt ALL about the MN thing, but that was the straw that broke the camels back.

I've thought about it and calmed down and feel ok with continuing to post on this thread... we'll see how I feel about posting on the rest of MN! I would never have posted on that thread if it were just left up to me as I dont particularly have a view on the subject and I knew it would kick off into a big fight but as I said I went on there to defend Sal and I would do it again. In fact the whole time I was posting I never even posted an opinion on the subject, I only ever defended him and then ended up defending our marriage and myself.

I think what tipped me over the edge was the person I was arguing with posting on this thread to Sal. I then felt that the argument was following me around MN, rather than staying on THAT thread, if you see what I mean, and that even here would not be a 'safe' place for me to relax and be myself. And I was upset that inadvertantly I felt Sal and I had brought you guys into it, although obviously we never would have done that intentionally. I didnt want to be involved in it in the first place but I couldnt just sit back and hear bad things said about my husband.

Right so... ok I dont think I can get along without talking to all of you so I will stick around. Hope I dont seem like Nikki on Big Brother who keeps threatening to leave!! Haha No I know, this is the first time I have said it but you know... Thanks so very very much for your understanding and support!

I will do another post about all the other bits & pieces on here...

dressedupnowheretogo · 13/07/2006 12:33

YellowFeathers · 13/07/2006 12:46

Pinky, pmsl at sterilising boobs

Well its not even 1pm yet and all my stuff has arrived! Even my dishwasher. And whats even better, on investigating it, it has a specific baby care wash for bottles and dummys! Am so pleased.

My preggy friend has been too and taken a load of dd's old clothes so we have got rid of another box!
Bless her, she's only got 12 days to go and isn't sleeping well at all so she says next week she plans to go no where and do nothing.
She did tell me though that here they only let you go to 41 weeks and then you have to go in for a sweep None of this waiting 2 weeks. Not sure how I feel about that one.
We have the tour of the Mat unit on Sunday though so that should be good.

Sal, The thing what got me about that thread was that you were keeping things light and funny rather than go into a full scale argument and alot of the "regulars" do that. It was only when you were "rumbled" as a bloke when it started to turn funny.

scaredandconfused · 13/07/2006 12:49

hello august people
i am due 08/08/06. have been referred over here from some people. not long to go now - just nervous tension to contend with. this is about the most scared i have been ever (have been in some scary situations before!!)i am mostly looking forward to hearing the words "its a boy/girl". then i will know it is all over and i can enjoy my new baba.

YellowFeathers · 13/07/2006 12:51

Hi

Have you changed your name?
I think we're all scared and confused in our own weird little ways

lunavix · 13/07/2006 12:54

ARGH.

after the rubbing poo incident I put ds (and his potty) in his room for time out. After 5 minutes he'd calmed down I looked in on him, and he'd weed in his bed. All over the sheet, pillow, doona, everything. Bloody child! Why on earth am I having another???!!!

I gave up and took him downstairs for some lunch (no energy to tell him off) and lo and behold granny arrived to take him to his swimming lesson. So no doubt he'll be back in an hour sobbing cos he'd rather be with granny than mean mummy

So now I have an extra room to try and sort out.. I've stripped the wet stuff but have no energy to remake it.

Oh I forgot to add, with ds I was paranoid and sterelised everything till he was around 18 months (when crappy boots stereliser clapped out). But I am a paranoid mummy... he was still using his under-mattress-breathing-sensor-monitor-thingy until he went into a bed... two weeks ago

PinkTulips · 13/07/2006 12:54

hello S&C, glad your joining us

try not to be too nervous babe (impossible i know), you'll be amazed at how well your body is able to cope with whats ahead, the main thing is too see each contraction as a positive, one step closer to your beautiful little baby and don't be afraid to do what you need to to cope re: pain relief, positions etc.

you'll be fine!

eenywifemum · 13/07/2006 12:56

Booby - I've emailed you!

SnowBoo how is it going with your DH? Did he sleep in the car? Have you thought about the whole scaring issue & how to deal with him?

Yellow that is sweet that your DH has booked some time off to be with you!! I'm happy for you! Not to mention elation over your sponge! hehe

ARabica lol at the image of you dancing as a 3 seater sofa! Glad the bus ride helped!

luna sorry about the sausage and your DS! (that is a strange sentence!) waking up in the night in pain must have been really scary! Ugh. And all I can say is well done for the poo incident. I know I have many of those ahead of me and I just hope I can cope half as well as you girls with toddlers do!

Pink - The nappy incident with your DD made me laugh!! What did you do/say to her? I guess there isnt much you can say but thanks and clean it up!

Olivo & Sarahlou and everybody thanks again for your support. You're darlings

Well Sal and I are in Coggeshall, but you can put us down as Colchester if you want as Coggeshall is pretty small and most people wouldnt have heard of it! Colchester is about 15 mins away or so. And Chelmsford is about 25 mins away.

Today Alex's mattress is supposed to be delivered - Cross your fingers it will be as I cant wait to see it!! I love getting more baby things!! We are bidding on a bumbo chair on ebay today as well - I hope we get it!! The auction should be up soon I shall go check... I know there was loads more I was meant to say and I cant rememeber any of it now...

Oh I wanted to show you these keepsake plates - I got one for a friend's baby dedication, and I am getting another for my friend in America's baby, and another for Alex - I love them! here

janeggybee · 13/07/2006 13:03

i am person with irrational fear of unknown, skin tags and fed up at home with penis-type finger. not a pretty picture hey??!!
am not normally this mental - am quite sane person who had sensible job and stuff. pregnancy is not the making of me!!
