NoMaybeAboutIt · 24/09/2013 23:08

Oh Joll you're talking my lingo. If it's not mooing/bleating/flapping on the plate, I'm not happy!!!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 24/09/2013 23:10

Pram you're hilarious. I've gone the other way. Horny as you like. But am feeling so shite most the time that I can't be arsed Grin

My boobs are defying gravity at the moment too. Though I'm not suffering from tit cheese. Sounds nasty.

Jolleigh · 24/09/2013 23:18

I'm really making myself hungry now Angry

NoMaybeAboutIt · 24/09/2013 23:25

You can have one of my pink wafers if you like?!

Rockchick1984 · 24/09/2013 23:25

Ugh, there's only one sort of meaty bone that should go near my mouth and it's not from the butchers!!!! I only like meat that doesn't l

Rockchick1984 · 24/09/2013 23:26

Look like it was ever alive, steak has to be well done etc!

LyraSilvertongue · 24/09/2013 23:35

Meat on the bone is the best. Delish.

I'm so greedy I'm eating again. DP just got home and he brought some things that look like potato croquettes but they've got minced beef inside. Tasty with a squeeze of lemon juice. I'll be the size of a house soon if I don't get my swimming regime started.

LyraSilvertongue · 24/09/2013 23:37

We'll done steak is the work of the devil. I don't care if my food looks like it used to be alive. I love whole fish with the head on etc.

Jolleigh · 24/09/2013 23:52

Lyra - there's an odd satisfaction looking your food in the eyes while you eat it Wink

LyraSilvertongue · 24/09/2013 23:59

Indeed Grin Some people are freaked out by fish eyes. I don't get it. You know it's fish, shouldn't matter that the fish looks like a fish.

Jolleigh · 25/09/2013 00:11

I think it's just that as a species, we've evolved in such a way that most people have become extremely 'distant' from the reality of where their food comes from. Kind of a 'yes, the full version of what I'm eating has a face, but I've never had to look at the face while eating it so it's become another 'sterile product' that comes to me ready to use'. Thank god for farmers, fishermen, hunters, abattoirs and butchers Smile

Jolleigh · 25/09/2013 00:19

NoMaybe - can't say a wafer would cut it when I'm so close to taking a bite out of the nearest cow Wink

Think there's a chance I'm going to have to cook myself something.Hmm

LyraSilvertongue · 25/09/2013 00:21

Doesn't help that supermarket meat and fish comes in nice neat little portions in neat little packages. I make sure my children see the carcasses of animals hanging in the butchers window so they're realistic about where their food comes from and not squeamish about it.

Prambo · 25/09/2013 00:26

Don't give a fuck where my fish comes from as long as it's fishfinger-shaped, coated in breadcrumb and comes in a box of 30 for a quid. If someone served me a fish with eyes in or a head on I'd slap them with it. Dirty bastards.

LyraSilvertongue · 25/09/2013 00:26

Do you have many cows ambling past your sofa, Jolls Grin

LyraSilvertongue · 25/09/2013 00:28

Tsk, Prambo. Cheapo fish fingers aren't real fish. They're made of fish-coloured cardboard.

Jolleigh · 25/09/2013 00:33

Unfortunately not Lyra. The nearest living thing to me is the dog, 2nd nearest is the snake and 3rd is old Vera next door. Not sure any of the 3 would taste good.

I have however just remembered all the pringles I hid in various cupboards so that OH didn't find them Grin (he found and ate all the home made cookies)

x0gawjus0x · 25/09/2013 06:58

Anyone whos had their 16/17 wk midwife app did she listen to the heartbeat?

Got passport back yesterday so yes taxi drivers can countersign them :P egypt bound :D

XxxxxX

OwlinaTree · 25/09/2013 07:15

I love fish fingers prambo specially a fish finger sandwich.

I had 16 week appointment with my lovely but a bit vague midwife yesterday. She managed to find the heartbeat briefly, but said it was moving about a lot, so only heard it for a little bit. 140bpm so I think it's a boy!

karamcleod · 25/09/2013 07:40

I really want a nice juicy steak, I've not had any read meat since the start of pg as I just can't force myself to cook the life out of it. I'd happily eat a good bit of beef raw!
I am fucking starving and there's cows on the farm just now...
Toast is going to cut it this morning :(

MummyPig24 · 25/09/2013 07:40

Morning all. Over the last few days I seem to have sprouted a bump and all my tops are too short now. So I'm off to town to treat myself to some maternity clothes. I never spend money on myself so I'm a little nervous. I also have to do it in about one hour so I can get back to pick dd up from pre school, so it will be a mad dash round H&M, hopefully I can grab some bargains.

karamcleod · 25/09/2013 07:46

*red
*not going to

karamcleod · 25/09/2013 07:56

Good luck MummyP hope you get something nice!

Rockchick1984 · 25/09/2013 08:10

Mmmm, fish finger butty with loads of ketchup!!

Mummy new look do plain tshirts and vests (not maternity) for a couple of ££ that are very long, maybe worth a look at if there's nothing in H&M?

Gaw mine listened to the heartbeat, its only for a few seconds but very reassuring! How come you've not been on fb in ages, everything ok?

Thinking I'll go shopping this morning and buy baby its first girlie present - as much as I'd like to go mad on little dresses, I know in reality she will spend the first few months mostly in sleepsuits so will try to be practical!

MummyPig24 · 25/09/2013 08:23

Thanks for the tip rock, I love next sleep suits, they are so colourful and cute.
