I'm 5+0 today

Aside from exhaustion, feeling hot, some cramps and occasional realistic dreams- I don't have any other symptoms Confused I think I would feel better if morning sickness happened !!

Waves welcome to spirael

FacebookStoleMyLife · 23/09/2013 10:43

hehe no worries Moomin :) sounds like you've got it all under control. What are you studying by the way?

Hi Spirael, you just made it into our fabulous group!

Theatre and Performance Studies Grin

I got a book through the post from Tommy's, a guide to pregnancy for 16-19 year olds. It was free and it's a great book but I got a little bit freaked out when it said you may start to show at 9 weeks... Shock. That said, my jeans are struggling to fit and there does seem to be something there... Hmm could do with getting to the 12 week scan first Grin

onefunkymama · 23/09/2013 10:50

Hi spirael nice to see you here. I haven't booked a Dr apt just yet, plan to do that at 6 weeks Wondering if the doc will consider me to be 'high risk' having already had two c-sections and being 38..... This is my third baby so I'm trying to be sooo much calmer than the first two (but its not easy as I am symptom spotting all the time.) Feel ok mostly, horrid headaches though which only go when I eat something. Otherwise feeling fine and dandy. And excited.

impatientlywaiting · 23/09/2013 11:01

There is a June bus already! Can't believe we are coming to the end of the May due dates.

Just called into the doctors, have had some stabbing pains on my right side which seem to have got a bit more frequent. I wasn't overly concerned until I read you should go to the docs if you have any shoulder pain. I've had some sharp pinchy type pains there this last week. So the doctor contacted EPU and I have a scan booked for tomorrow morning.

DH has gone away with work today for a week so going to have to go on my own. I'm not particularly concerned as think I'm probably fine, but the idea of having a scan is scary just in case something isn't right.

Quite glad I'm getting a scan though to hopefully put my mind at rest.

8+2

snoozysleeper · 23/09/2013 11:04

impatiently best of luck for the scan, hopefully you find it just reassures you!

bouncysmiley · 23/09/2013 11:22

Just had my early scan. All well. Dates adjusted to 8 + 1, two days further along than I thought. Morning sickness all worth it.

wispaxmas · 23/09/2013 11:35

hello Smile I'm not a maybie, but I did start the June thread.. Super early, though, so impatiently invited me over here. I'm sure all the august and September bussers I saw get BFPs are happily ensconced in this thread :)

snoozysleeper · 23/09/2013 11:43

Hi wispa c

snoozysleeper · 23/09/2013 11:44

Congrats on your bfp Flowers

Sorry phone posted too early

impatientlywaiting · 23/09/2013 11:51

Yay congrats Bouncy.

We have a few scans today. Think Thistle and PFJ were having them this morning.

BoogiesBunny · 23/09/2013 11:59

Hi all - I'm in work with a normal week ahead of me for the first time in weeks and I'm so looking forward to sitting at my desk and getting on top of stuff. But I just wanted to say that I am loving this thread already! It's amazing to have you girls here throughout the day, especially when we're not telling anyone just yet.

I have my scan tomorrow morning (I'll be 6+6)- I can't believe I'll hear a little heartbeat for the first time! I'm so excited as I need that reassurance as symptoms are still not really materialising. DH is beside himself and keeps sending me little messages about the scan - so cute! bouncyyou've got me even more excited!

Nanny I'll probably tell my 2 bosses after my scan tomorrow, just so they're aware in case I do get sick and need some understanding. I know they'll be great about it.

spirael welcome to the Maybies and thanks for picking up on my worry about that cheese! It feels so good to hear someone say it's fine.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 23/09/2013 12:20

Bunny couldn't agree wirh you more, it is lovely to have a load of ladies all going through the same thing, I too am bursting to tell everyone but will hokd fire till scan confirms all well, even if it is third baby still worry about saying anything before 12 weeks. Although I am bloody showing slightly already (wish I had done more core excercise before trying for baby!) Its ok though my boibs have got big so if I tilt forward and stick out my bum think that disguises the belly?!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 23/09/2013 12:20

Haha *boobs not boibs

NannyPlumForPM · 23/09/2013 12:54

I've chickened out until after lunch Hmm I do agree bunny that this is a lovely place to chat about REALLY whats worrying you without raised eyebrows and not telling anyone etc. I've found it so reassuring!

First day of MS that I've actually been physically sick, which also horribly coincides with first day back at work grr!

I am a little worried as I have an X chromosomal genetic disorder 'thing' which means that if i've conceived a boy, he'll only have 50% chance of surviving, as long as he has the good X. The midwife appointment is not until 17th Oct - do you think I should ring and try for an earlier one?

I don't know any tests that they can do.... Hmmmm

randdom · 23/09/2013 12:58

Does anyone else worry that they have just convinced themselves that they are pregnant when they aren't? I am tired and get occasional waves of nausea but other than that I feel really normal. I guess I am worried because last time with the mc I had more symptoms than now. I am probably just being paranoid :(

bushprincess · 23/09/2013 13:04

morning all and welcome Spirael and wispa!!

brilliant news on your scan bouncy looking forward to hearing back from pfj and thistle today too!

boogies you must be so excited to get to see your little blueberry tomorrow!! I'm still in the UK, heading back to Zim next week but then have to go to south africa for a few days so won't even be able to meet my obstetrician until almost 9 weeks.... grrr, so impatient!

I used to live in Nairobi, about 5 minutes from the westgate centre which I used to go to all the time... luckily all my friends there are fine but I keep getting overcome with complete shock, just so close to home for me. I have so much work to do and am trying to distract myself but can't stop listening to the world service and visualizing whats going on... so sad and senseless....

Cybercat · 23/09/2013 13:06

I keep thinking that I have imagined it! DH reminds me that 4 positive tests mean that it's real!

bushprincess · 23/09/2013 13:08

nanny sorry to hear about the sickness, but remember it's a good thing! also sorry about your chromosomal worries, do you know at what stage the problem is likely to show if he had the 'wrong' x? If so then it's probably not worth getting a scan until after then as it wouldn't be able to tell you much... I'm so sorry that you have to deal with that. we've all got our fingers crossed for you.

random join the 'really normal in pregnancy' group... there are a few of us here who feel pretty much like normal... but sure we're all going to be just fine! but of course I can't wait to have a scan to reassure myself... keep getting tempted to poas again just to check!

BoogiesBunny · 23/09/2013 13:11

Random you are not alone - I have done 4 tests but, as I feel normal, I keep thinking that I imagined it or it's just gone away. I will not relax until my scan tomorrow and I see the little guy/girl and their little heart beating. I wouldn't worry about the lack of symptoms this time around as every pregnancy is completely different.

Nanny I do feel bad for worrying for no real reason when you have something serious to concern you! From what I've read the earliest test that is done, which can confirm gender in addition to other things is, CVS at about 10 weeks. All these early, invasive tests carry risks but you need to work out what you need to give you the most peace - could you ask the doctor/midwife to call you to discuss?

hobbjobb · 23/09/2013 13:20

random I've done 5 preg tests -one digital, two first response and two dippy ones, all positive - and still worry I'm not actually pregnant. I don't think it'll be totally real til my dating scam which will be over 6 weeks away!

McBaby · 23/09/2013 13:20

Feel so sick today. Been sick twice then nearly agai in toddler music class. Eating is usually my cure but its not working today!!

I can't remember it being this bad last time but my sickness had stopped by 12 weeks and only 8w2d not sure i can cope with 4 more weeks of this!

Sorry to moan just feel horrendous!

moominleigh94 · 23/09/2013 15:01

One of the plays we've got to read for second year is Look Back In Anger. Just read it in the library this afternoon and bloody hell, I wasn't quite prepared for it... got quite emotional really at the bit where you find out

SPOILER ALERT

she lost the baby Sad although that may be hormones. Nearly cried in the library Grin

CoffeeGuzzler · 23/09/2013 15:18

So I went to a&e last night with complains of very sharp stabbing pains on my left side. Was totally freaked out...it was hurting if I breathed! They did urine and bloodwork..all came out normal...including hcg levels. The doctor couldn't ascertain anything after much probing and pressing into my tummy. She booked me for a scan this morning with early pregnancy unit. Nice sonographer stuck a lubricated wand up me and there it was!! A tiny dot in it's bubble! The tech pointed at the dot and said..'that is the start of the fetus but too early to find out anything for sure'. No heartbeat yet. They said I am 5 weeks pregnant. I am actually 5 weeks 5 days counting from lmp, but I my opk turned positive only on the 1st September...so I guess that explains the discrepeancy.

And oh the pain is from right ovary which released the egg and has 'a small pregnancy-related cyst, nothing to worry about'.

And they have booked me in for another scan in two weeks' time when we should be able to hear heartbeat.

CoffeeGuzzler · 23/09/2013 15:31

Ah darn it! I meant that the pain is from my left ovary. Left side pain.
