Mmmmm crunchies. My boss gave me a box of roses, some choc and hazelnut cookies and a tube of fruit pastilles because i have taken her home from work a few days this week and she wants some lifts next week too.
She only lives down the road really so i just go a different way home to drop her off but it takes no longer than normal. Its really nice of her as i think she has done it as she knows we are short on momey and cant afford those little treats. Dh was very happy when i got home with them.

angel I had to get the receptionist to sort it for me. You ask them and they get the GP to fill it in. I had my 25 week appointment this week, but your supposed to give this to your employer 15 weeks before you're due. Don't know how that adds up!

Frizz1986 · 20/09/2013 20:58

I had to get my matb1 form from a midwife when i got my 20 week scan. I think you are supposed to hand in it by 25 weeks (15 weeks before edd) as thats the qualifying date for mat pay and the matb1 form is your proof.
I dont think many employers stick to this though as most will trust that you are pg and not some weirdo pretending you are so they will just want it asap so they can prepare mat pay on their payroll system.

tooth frizz thanks both! I will start harassing my GP next week...

sarahleanne · 20/09/2013 22:00

Hi everyone!
I apologise in advance, I never remember who has said what , I am rubbish and tired.

I have complete insomnia at the moment. You would think a 5 yr old and 22month old would be enough hard work to make me sleep at night but no matter how tired and exhausted I am and I really am , I still wake up about 3 times a night.

DH emailed me earlier saying we should buy the pram and car seat this month ! I had the whole "lets spread the cost out" a few months ago so were doing ok with buying things. But saying that I have no clue how many sleepsuits and vests I have upstairs. I know I have a mixture of newborn and 0-3 but this is because I think im going to have a big baby as my other 2 werent exactly small.

I always thought you get your matb1 form from the midwife but ive never needed one until this pregnancy so thatsna complete assumption. I have an app on monday (24 weeks) so will ask then.

Does anyine else look really pregnant or just me? I havea very big bump . I was at a course today and the trainer asked when I was due so imsaid January. Then a complete stranger bitch sat next to me went " oh my god" to which I replied " yeah I no I have big babies" but looking back I should of simply told her to not be so bloody rude. It was more the way she said it rather than what she said.
I know im big though as my close friend pointed it out shes allowed to but I mean my bump not actual fat FAT.

Toothfairy78 · 20/09/2013 23:10

Wow, that's fucking rude. Tell em to screw off next time!

Oh and don't know if anyone needs a reason to smile (apart from it being the weekend), or anything but here's a treat on YouTube courtesy f bitchin kitchen...

chocoloulou33 · 20/09/2013 23:24

sarahl I get that from people too. I work in a school and get the odd random parent saying oh how long u got left then they gasp in surprise when I say jan. Yes I have quite a big bump but am still ok everywhere else lol. Am proud of my bump. So am all propped up in bed with a billion pillows and wheat pack. My oh works nights and I do miss him loads but also sleep better when hes not here!

MrsVDB · 21/09/2013 01:24

Being in Bali has been a change from the politeness in uk where alot of people don't mention the bump in case it's far. Here even walking down the street I get 'hey new arrival!!' Or 'baby in there?' Or general comments about being pregnant! Most of the times I think I look v pregnant but still in denial about bump I think even though I love it. Wire a dress out last night which made me look ready to drop. Almost changed as it made it seem to real! I've only put head on photos on fb too

Sultanajo · 21/09/2013 12:36

mrsg am loving your bashed up crunchie on ice cream style! Can bash out some aggression as well as creating a yummy snack! Mmm dominos! My italian pizza was lush last night too - well worth the heartburn that followed.....Grin

Sultanajo · 21/09/2013 12:37

tooth have a fab time in Bruges! Well deserved break! Grin

Aw your boss frizz - how lovely is that!

Sultanajo · 21/09/2013 12:46

sarah people just dont think when they react! grrrr!

tooth my phone wont let me watch the youtube clip right now - will have to check it out laters....

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 21/09/2013 12:47

angel it was on Casabu a few months ago, from a company called (I think) 'Playjamas'.

frizz how lush of your boss, that's lovely.

sarahl and loulou I think people just don't know what to say. The lady in Waitrose on the cheese counter (we were discussing in depth how to satisfy Brie cravings without eating Brie) said 'you must be nearly due'. I wasn't offended - god, I spent so long wishing for a bump! - but I was surprised, as I'm not looking super-pg yet. The one friend who says the nicest thing (she has an older sister who's been pg twice) always says 'oh, look at your lovely bump', but I guess that's harder for strangers.

MrsV I have a dress that makes me look about 8 months - it's weird how certain clothes accentuate the bump, eh? I wear it when I want to not have to carry archive materials up and down stairs all day Grin

So, last night, bean had obviously been having a think, and had figured out how to do really big kicks, because s/he spent the evening walloping me hard. I like to think between each, s/he was running away giggling too.

Yoga was surprisingly ace - the teacher was v chilled, it was hard work, but she was v careful that we didn't overdo it, esp the newbies, and we did birth breathing and relaxation techniques, as well as some affirmations, which I was amazed to find I really liked (I am not into that sort of thing normally, but they really struck a chord). She works for Yogabellies, which I think is nationwide.

Sultanajo · 21/09/2013 12:48

mrsv thats hilarious and lucky you are actually preggers! (note to self - never go there if look like am preggers but am not....)

Sultanajo · 21/09/2013 12:51

humpty yay for the yoga! Great you were pleasantly surprised....

Yeah, I find when I meet up with friends who havent seen me preggers I choose something that makes me look as preggers as possible. I too have a dress that makes bump look mahoosive!,

Frizz1986 · 21/09/2013 15:34

I like to show off my bump lol. Have caved and got 2 maternity dresses from asos to wear to work for the next 13 weeks.
Trying to buy as few things as possible, but really need some tshirts and a jumper or 2 and coat. Any ideas where is cheap. I saw new look had 3 tshirts for £15 in a pack which seems good. Cant afford to spend much at all! Anywhere else? Ebay seems to have more expensive stuff.

Just started taking the wallpaper centre border down in the nursery. Its taken an hour to do a meter. Its gonna take longer than i thought! Why did the previous owners use wallpaper?!

AnotherStitchInTime · 21/09/2013 15:42

H&M are pretty good for maternity stuff Frizz.

fryingpantoface · 21/09/2013 16:17

I second H&M and new look. Asda have been really disappointing for mat clothes this time.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 21/09/2013 16:31

frizz try preloved for bundles of clothes - I got 6 different tops, and a pair of maternity combats for £29 incl postage. They all fit, some are nicer than others, but bargains are bargains.

Frizz1986 · 21/09/2013 18:27

Thanks ladies. I shall have a nosey tonight to see what i can find

Wow, have gone boogled eyed from reading so much, gave up in the end. Only went away for a fortnight and you lot managed to fill up thread 8 and get halfway thro thread 9! What a lot of chatting.

Well, when my Mum collected us from the airport today, she "wowed" at the bump size and then said "I wonder how much more you will grow!?". I thought the bump was quite a normal size so now feeling a bit paranoid. Maybe it's just that she hasn't seen us for nearly 3 weeks??. Or maybe I just ate too much over 14 days away... oh well, back to normal again now.

Hope everyone is okay, sorry if I have missed anything big. Sarah - hope you niece is doing better.

MrsVDB · 21/09/2013 18:37

We're just in Singapore for night on way back from Bali and hadn't realised f1 was here so bought last minute tickets to f1 which included open air killers concert after! Amazing!! But it was bloody hot and pulled my top up and just had belly out in attempt to cool down! Don't care what I looked like as it was dark! Feet/ ankles/ legs killing now though

Frizz1986 · 21/09/2013 19:21

Wow mrsv how amazing.

Hope youve had a nice time percy

Argh i want to scream. Dh was just going to get something from his computer and whereas any normal person would start the download etc and return to the lounge to spend time with their wife, he decided as he always does to sit at his computer watching it and p+$@ing around waiting for it to finish. I called to him and he was like its almost finished, then 15 mins later i am still sat on my own waiting. He always does this, wanders off for what should be a minute and disappears for half an hour.
It really annoyed me so i yelled a little and his response was 'why do you think i stayed in my room' obv saying that he knew i would be annoyed so he thought he would stay in his room longer.
So i storm upstairs and then eventually he comes up. Me thinking he is going to say sorry, instead he asks if i am coming down to watch the tv. In the sort of voice that he is annoyed as he wants to watch the show and knows he cant until i am there.
Argh!!!!

I love him but i am just so annoyed right now! Really want to go downstairs and tell him he is being a bit of a dick, but i know that will just start an argument and i will end up saying sorry.
God men sometimes!

Rant over.

mrsv how amazing is that! Hope u have recovered and have a fab flight back!

frizz glad your DH has redeemed himself! Grin

Having a bit of a panic - I hardly felt bubs move yesterday and again so far today the usual tricks havent worked - felt a couple of very faint movements but thats it. Really hoping its just the position bubs is in. Gonna get the doppler out in a bit when DH wakes up and see if I can hear movements. Come on mini sultana! Stop stressing me out!!! Sad
