I am so upset! I am sick again today. I know I should just except it as I have HG after all. But every time I start to feel better I get so excited and think that I am finally turning a corner and then I'm sick again.

It probably didn't help that I was so busy reading MN threads( as my husband gave me the morning in bed whilst he deals with DC and tidying) that I forgot to take my medication until I noticed how sick I was feeling and then it was too late I had a vomiting session.

I don't know how those of you still being sick manage work. Although I did it myself in my first pregnancy, I remember many vomiting sessions in tube stations or on trains. Blush
But I just don't think I could keep it up this time. Maybe having 2 full on DC has something to do with it.

So 11:30am and I am still in bed would usually be at church right now. I think I will get up and have a shower now and move to the sofa instead, it seems much less lazier than being in bed haha!

Mm, I'm going to go, to see what the doctor says about meds - if I am going to start taking them everyday again then I need a lot more prescribed!

somany I know how you feel too, though don't know how you have managed to look after two kids - well, since I quit my job, my hat completely goes off to anyone who copes with HG and either kids or work.
I'm also grateful that it's not as intense as it was, and every time I have a bad day I just keep my fingers really tightly crossed that this is the last one, or maybe the last one for a while...
Another good piece of advice someone gave me is think about how far you've come, not about far you've still to go. I've dealt with 13 weeks of this now, that seems like a good achievement!

winterflowers · 08/09/2013 13:41

That's good some of u are planning to tack hols on the start of ML, hopefully I'll get my work to agree also.

Sorry to hear that ppl are still so sicky, mine is down a bit but I've found hip/back pain has taken over. Can't remember who else posted abt it but I also find sleeping surrounded by pillows really helps. Marzipanned you should def see the dr, they might be able to give u something to 'protect' your stomach from all the acid and tht might help?

misskatamari · 08/09/2013 15:44

Sorry to hear so many of you ate still feeling horrible. Marzi definitely see the Doc and see if they can give you anything to help.

I managed to sleep last night which was amazing - just praying for the same tonight but its first day back teaching tomorrow so I always get abit nervous so who knows. Feeling a bit run down like I'm getting a cold so I'm knocking back the honey and lemon and then the gaviscon as I'm super acidy!

I know there's been lots of bra talk but can't remember where's good to get big maternity ones from? I know someone mentioned Matalan - is there anywhere else I should try? My boobs are going to break free of my current bras any day now so must invest in some new massive ones!

vix206 · 08/09/2013 16:24

Missk I always buy Freya because I go to a Ff or G when pregnant and find the high street stores just don't measure properly and/or don't do my sizes. I'm a 32FF at the moment and mothercare tried to sell me a 36D!!

I get mine from the factory shop as its local to me (and they measure) but you can also go onto figleaves if you know your size. Otherwise it's independent bra shops or dept stores for Freya.

212VIP · 08/09/2013 18:11

jazz it won't let me click on your name?
I can click on some (they're blue) but the rest are black...?

marzipanned · 08/09/2013 18:16

Alright, calling the doctor first thing in the morning :) Thanks for the kick up the bum!

Good luck tomorrow missk - hopefully you can get some sleep tonight, but if not I'm sure you'll be utterly zonked tomorrow night.

I went and picked up my gumtree bundle today and have just spent a blissful ten minutes going through all the clothes. SO CUTE. And they all smell really nice - I know this is just the washing powder of the lady who sold them to me, but I think that smell will always mean 'baby' to me now :) Oh February, hurry up!!!

Hmm not sure then 212? Others have PMd me... No idea how they did it in that case!

I've had a totally crap day. Still ploughing away at dissertation - worked from 10-6 on it both yesterday and today. DH is stressed out over his redundancy consultation which starts Tuesday. He rolls out of bed at 1pm, I ask him if he could sort the ironing at some point today. Cue lots of shouting about how im being so demanding and can't I understand what he's going through.

I ended up ironing the basic stuff needed for work and we've ignored each other since he yelled. I admit I should have let him wake up a bit before starting on chores but it's a bit like well we are both stressed out and shattered but shouldn't we work together to help each other out? As it turns out he has played x box since 1. Nice for him.

I know this is a petty argument over ironing but in my pregnant hormonal state all that's going through my head is how the hell we will manage the exhaustion and stress which will come in February. I know things will seem better tomorrow but at the moment it's horrid.

Thanks vix! Ill deffo get ordering some. Glad to hear you're feeling better too.

Champagne sorry you're feeling rough again Hmm I hope you can manage to do some wfh soon so you don't have to face your mega commute and days at work.

Quick q about work and scan appointments. I've gotta request time off for my 20 week scan tomorrow as its at 3.20 so ill need to miss the last lesson of the day. On inset the head said that people won't be allowed to take unpaid leave etc and hospital appointments etc need booking outside school hours and now I'm worried they're gonna kick up a fuss. An I right that they have to let us attend pregnancy related appointments? A bit scared of asking but it's the 20 week scan - I need to bloody go to it!

Thanks champagne. They've let a guy in my dept out for navy stuff for a week as its allowed so I was hoping pregnancy stuff was the same. Phew Smile

Aww Jazz don't worry dh and I have those moments too when we're both knackered and stressed. I do think that men sometimes think they have the monopoly on being tired - hmmm - I'd love to see them experience just one day of exhaustion and nausea and being pregnant! It'll all be forgotten when you've both had a good sleep. X

marzipanned · 08/09/2013 19:38

Oh jazzcat you poor thing. But I think you need to go in and tell him exactly what you've written here. You both have these horrible stresses on you at the moment and I'm sure things will be heaps better once the redundancy consultation and dissertation are both over. Hope you make it up and have a good evening together.

champagne I was reading that thread on newborn strategy, and all the no sleeping stuff, and I couldn't help thinking...but at least I won't feel sick! I think we need somany to judge for us - what's harder, HG or a newborn baby?!

misskatamari · 08/09/2013 19:42

Jazzcat sorry you're having a crappy day. I hate arguments like that. You know you're both stressed and that is making you more upset but just still feel so pissed off. I hope you guys manage to have a nice evening together and it will definitely all look better in the morning. Not long now and the dissertation will be but a distant memory x

Hello everyone!
Trying to relax before returning to the pit of stress that is work tomorrow. Baking this afternoon followed by a nice bubble bath. I'm so grateful I've not been feeling so I'll like some of you ladies, I don't think I would be able to manage work and being ill right now.
A shopping question for you all.
A lady on a local FB sellers group has a Doppler for sale at £25. It's not one of the cheap ones off amazon, I've looke the brand up and it's over £100 new. Shall I buy it? Is it worth it? I downloaded the iPhone app, but I think it's too early, all I can hear is my own heartbeat.
There was going to be a second question but my addled brain can't remember it now Confused
