Would recommend topshop tights :) They are pretty thick, and unless you have polkadot knickers under, not see through!

Welcome Littlebear :)

I thought about that song too MissKatamari :P hilarious that!

Littlebear10 · 15/09/2013 18:00

I'm due on 29th Jan so 20 weeks. I had my scan last week and all was well, it's a boy. It feels more real now I know.
I'm going to East Surrey Hospital in Redhill, only because my MW works there as well. As reputations go it has a very bad one generally but I think the maternity suite has been redone recently and I've heard good things.
We moved here 2 and a half years ago and love the area, have you been to Leith Hill yet?

CubanoHabana · 15/09/2013 18:01

She has got quite a large house marzi and does live alone, there is a huge cat run in the garden but its still a lot...

Although Pam, the lady I got my 2 from, has over 30... She literally has rooms full of kittens - it's amazing! But her house stinks - you can smell it from the street... She is trying to downsize due to illness, which unfortunately means my aunty will probably end up with more - she specifically goes for deaf white ones as she feels so sorry for them!

misskat I wouldn't have any others now (unless adopted by a new cat), such a lush personality, so cuddly and a decent size (weighed my Tom today and he has lost weight recently, now is only 1 stone 2)!

Been and watched some of the great north run today, got emotional at that too! Fil has come somewhere in the top 100 and doesn't run for a club or anything, he was only 14 mins behind mo Farrah...

marzipanned · 15/09/2013 18:09

milk sorry we x-posted earlier, so sorry to hear of your losses :( :(
We are down to one now and since he is THE BOSS I don't think we can get any more. (He would probably eat them; he's beaten up a couple of dogs in his time.)

cubano woah, your FIL sounds amazing!
That is the problem with having too many cats, we used to know a slightly mad guy with, I'd guess, over 50...he lived on a very isolated property and most of them were basically feral, the whole place really did smell bad though. I think you should take any spares, that way you, DH and baby can each have a coon to cuddle. :)

Aw Cooney cuddles! I had my bf bring round her 1 year old recently to see how the cats would be and the big tom ran and hid and our queen just collapsed and let her do anything she wanted - which was mainly tickles and gentle fur pulling! So not too worried but will put sounds of crying on nearer the time for them.

Milkandtwo · 15/09/2013 19:14

On leggings - topshop maternity nice but quite see through. Their tights are great. Avoid mothercare tights like the plague. Ridiculously small and tight and I'm 5'3 with chicken legs. I bought medium too, and they're itchy.
Seraphine bamboo maternity leggings are thick, stupidly soft and gorgeous. I love them. Have them in grey from eBay and just bought some in black too.

Milkandtwo · 15/09/2013 19:21

...and thank you, marzipanned x

misskatamari · 15/09/2013 20:12

Oooh forgot to say before - aldi are having a baby and toddler event from Thursday with loads of baby things really cheap. Might be worth a look if you have one nearby Smile

littlestgirlguide · 15/09/2013 20:41

On tights - I bought some mothercare ones last week in Large (which is the size it recommends for my size and height), and found them huge and very comfy. They would pull up over my boobs if I wanted, I could wear them like a body stocking.... Plenty long enough for 36" legs which is rare. Had Topshop ones last time and found them quite low cut, only belly-button height rather than bra strap IYSWIM, and not so generous in leg length, but nicer material, softer and a finer knit, the mothercare ones while soft are quite large knit.

Last night in a sleeping bag on the ground in a tent followed by a day on my feet has crippled me. I can barely walk. My pelvis is really, really painful, somehow behind my privates - what on earth is hurting in there?! Its also shootig pains through one hip and down my leg. That's a lesson to me not to sleep on the ground at nearly 19 weeks pregnant.

Milkandtwo · 15/09/2013 20:55

Maybe my local mothercare just had a dodgy batch then! They did seem very odd! (and I bought a size larger than recommended for my weight and height)

Shropshiremummy2B · 15/09/2013 21:17

Heyyyy preggers!

For want of a better word I am 'buzzin' after my scan even though the scanner was a total fuckpig. We literally had to coax her to tell us that everything was normal. She kept using big medical words as if it had some condition but then when I questioned it she looked at me like I was simple. I mean "it's heart is a third the size of the chest", errrr is that normal. Bellend.

Awesome weekend in leeeeeeds. Got some kickass tights from mamas and papas which double as a polo neck (also seconding h and m leggings BUT they have developed tiny holes, BUT I do walk the dogs through the woods etc in them). Got home for the scan today and DH got the shits so I went to see mummy and daddy who greeted me with peach bellinis and a scrummy pie. Hot chocolate drunk and I'm in bed with a chocolate spaniel under my arm and XFactor on sky+.

Life is gooooood.

Sassy20 · 15/09/2013 21:31

Love the term 'fuckpig' Shropshire. That will now be how I refer to anyone who annoys me! Glad you managed to get the info out of her in the end and that all is good. Grin

marzipanned · 15/09/2013 21:41

Aw shropshire glad you're back to your usual jolly self :)

Please do explain the tights that are also a polo neck?!

jazzcat28 · 15/09/2013 21:45

Shropshire sounds like an amazing weekend! Are you still team yellow?

I'm looking forward to weekend after next when I'll be on a spa day with DM although I fear it will turn into a bugaboo sales pitch need to order a maternity swimsuit. Best ones I can see online are either mothercare or mamas and papas. Any other suggestions? Need to order tomorrow to ensure it arrives in time.

Still waiting to feel movement. Had what felt like trapped wind earlier but isn't it meant to feel like bubbles?

18+1

As in they are soooooooooooooo high waisted. May just cut some arm holes in and be done with it. They are a bank robbers dream.

Shropshiremummy2B · 15/09/2013 21:47

Am so going to do that for my bump day photo on Wednesday.

You all want to see me in nothing but a 60 denier body stocking, yah?

littlestgirlguide · 15/09/2013 21:49

Shropshire I think I understand why you mean by tights doubling as a polo neck... Kind of like mine, which nickname pull to my shoulders and beyond. Glad you're feeling better :-)

littlestgirlguide · 15/09/2013 21:50

Which nickname - I clearly mean which will. I need to go to bed!

Shropshiremummy2B · 15/09/2013 21:53

Deffo still team yellow. And frikkin team green with envy for those in the know.

Got my tankini from mothercare and its very comfy, I was amazed that it was the only maternity swimwear in the whole town of Shrewsbury yet no one else in preggo swimming had the same one. Phewf. It's my worst nightmare wearing the same as someone else, second only to the thought of pooing whilst giving birth. Hopefully they'll have invenvented a butt plug for labour before feb. fingers crossed. Will keep my eyes peeled on Dragons Den.

marzipanned · 15/09/2013 22:05

OHHHH got you. Was thinking of a genuine item of clothing. Think I also need to go to bed.

I was planning on wearing my bikini through pregnancy. Is that gross? Mind I don't have much of a bump yet and probably won't actually go swimming beyond October.

Somanychanges · 15/09/2013 22:30

Shropshire you made me laugh out loud, thanks for that I have had a bit if a miserable day. I just feel really angry and pissed off especially at DH he can't do anything right. Don't know if that is because of pregnancy but I just feel like beating someone or something. Confused

On the plus side however girlies I felt baby move from the outside with my hand today. I just cannot believe the movements are so strong at this stage this baby must be a baby hulk. I couldn't even feel flutters at this stage with DC1 I didn't feel anything at all until 20weeks. With DC2 I did start feeling movements earlier but I am sure I couldn't feel baby kicking until much later. It obviously has a favourite lying position as it kicks in the same area a lot. This evening when it started I put my hand there and pushed down and the it kicked or rolled or whatever it did and I felt it against my fingers. Then DH had a go but couldn't feel anything haha it's always the way.

Can't wait for my scan in 2 weeks. My DH cannot make it as it is on the 2nd day of his new job. He said he probably wouldn't have bothered anyway as he thought it was a waste that he took half a day off work for 12wk scan, says I could have just showed him pics Shock he is so shit in pregnancy so unsupportive and unsympathetic he is lucky I haven't killed him. But as he is an amazing birth partner and the most wonderful dad I will let him off.

Goodnight ladies, sleep well.

Shropshiremummy2B · 16/09/2013 06:34

I live to serve. Plus apparently, whilst DH had actual diarrhoea, I had verbal diarrhoea last night.

Me in a bikini would be gross. You in a bikini probably totes amaze!

Grrrrrr. Your DH has made me want to stab someone. Meanie.

Julietee · 16/09/2013 11:49

I bought swim leggings from amazon because I CANNOT be bothered to shave, and am blessed with a rather prodigious pubic, um, beard, let's say? Bought them a size up bot not tried them yet, I hope they're not too tight over the stomach as that makes me paranoid. Like everything, ever. (except apparently revealing my propensity for hair growth on the internet, apparently!)

laura0007 · 16/09/2013 14:37

Lol julietee. I just spat my tea all over my phone when I read that!
