Thanks for the reassurance that it
Might stop soon pretty and vix. I hope so. I also think eating less sugary things seems to help to stop
The sudden crashes.
Somamy - I phoned the drs first as i agree that makes so much more sense but said I had to ring the mws at the hosp. Think no-one wants to take resposibililty!

Jazz - email your tutor today to let them know.

Calloah- glad things are ok. A lot of ladies have had this and are fine. I know it's not what you want to see though.

Poppy954 · 14/09/2013 08:26

And love your son's loyalty somany.

winterflowers · 14/09/2013 09:19

Checking in after a crazy week. DS started Reception on Tuesday which I completely missed due to work commitments, I have never felt such guilt! And the ceiling came down in our family bathroom due to a leak (we are renovating). And finally DH has been puking with a virus since Monday. Next week will be smoother, I am sure Grin. And all in all we are adjusting to all the stuff school brings with it - lots of ironing and sorting this weekend I think! He has a party this morning and then we are off swimming together so I will get some exercise and some one to one time with him. Bump is growing rapidly and I've picked up some cute clothes for work from Crave, M&P and Seraphine. I can still fit into my bigger jeans but the back of them look very saggy! I had Gap jeans last time but they seem to have only got them online now. Great to read everyone's news, must try harder to keep up during the week.

ch1134 · 14/09/2013 11:30

Missing exercise so much. Ran a half marathon the weekend before we conceived so was super fit. I go for the occasional run now but have recently moved to an area without a swimming pool. I hate driving and suppose I could cycle to the pool but the mental barrier of bikes and roads and new places has prevented me so far. Got to go this weekend though, I'm going crazy (and getting fat)!

marzipanned · 14/09/2013 11:43

Really missing exercise too. I miss my muscles being strong. I went up a hill recently which I would normally have jogged up. This time I was walking and had to stop half way because my heart was beating so fast I thought it was going to explode. I know I'll get the fitness back one day...

I am jealous of this woman: www.parentdish.co.uk/2011/10/11/mum-runs-marathon-then-delivers-her-baby/

I have to go into town today so feel like I should do some shopping while I'm there... hate clothes shopping so much though... maybe just a quick dash to primark for cheap leggings and huge tops. Oh and new bras. Nowhere for fitting but M&S here, but since I'm in the small boob brigade that might be okay!

vix206 · 14/09/2013 13:04

Well I have to be honest, exercise isn't really something I am missing GrinGrin

Milkandtwo · 14/09/2013 13:43

Moving back from exercise to CAKE - I just remembered this recipe which I made last Christmas (I made food hampers for all my family as I've completely run out of present ideas these days!)
If you like marzipan (I know it's not for everyone) this is amazing:

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p012w64x

cream 180g butter and 180g caster sugar together until light, pale and fluffy
add a couple of beaten eggs and mix
add 80g sifted plain flour and 150g ground almonds and mix
drop nuggets of marzipan (about 100g) into mixture
give it a final
spoon dollps onto greaseproof paper (or muffin cases)
add a few blueberries on top of each (about 4 or 5)
bake at 180 for 30 mins
dust with icing sugar

NOM

misskatamari · 14/09/2013 14:28

Awww ruey that sounds like a lovely day you have planned with DS Smile

I agree about feeling like exercising more (although I haven't actually managed it yet!).

God baby brain was in full flow today! I was driving to the craft fair which was just past the exit which I use for work every day. DH was talking to me about cheese and I must have been concentrating too much on that as I just followed the car in front off the motorway about 3 junctions early and had to go on a big detour!

Then I went to Matalan for bras and grannie pants and managed to lose my cardigan! Luckily DH came in to help me look (after I'd already walked around the store twice looking for it) and we found it. What a numpty! I did get a nice polka dot maternity dress tho so I'm happy. And a lacy pair of pants to try and counteract the "full brief" grannie pants I got lol! Poor DH, I'm such a catch at the moment!

marzipanned · 14/09/2013 15:18

Shopping trip was a massive fail! Went into Primark and nearly passed out from the horror of it all. Now back home with no new clothes, bra still too small, but sanity at least intact :)

vix206 · 14/09/2013 15:41

Cake. Now we're back on track GrinGrinGrin

EeyoreIsh · 14/09/2013 15:48

That cake does sound amazing!

I didn't have enough blackberries for cake and jam, so I'll have to make a Victoria sponge and fill it with jam :)

I'm now getting really anxious about size of bump and no kicks. someone kick me please Grin

Bearfrills · 14/09/2013 16:20

I need to read six pages to catch up! You lot are right chatterboxes :o

So, work update. I handed my fit note in and my manager is worried I'm going to leave. Apparently she doesn't want to lose me as I'm good :) so .... She's offered me a new job!!! Same pay, same terms and its more hours but it's less days and its based on her other team at an office closer to home. At the minute I do 18 hours a week over five days with a three hour commute daily (1.5 hours there and back) which works out as a 33 hour week. They wanted to put me on twilight which would increase the commute as I'd have an extra hour to wait for buses - I'd have to leave the house at 3pm and wouldn't get home until 10pm so it would put me at 35hrs p/wk in total. The new job is 22hrs a week but only a 30 minute commute so 24.5 hrs a week - an increase in hours on paper but actually less in reality. Because I'm pregnant it has to go through occupational health but if they say yes it's a go! I'm excited by work again :)

Today is DDs birthday, two today! I made cake, I'll post a pic to the FB wall.

I've been getting loads of tightenings this week, not painful or uncomfortable at all, just tightness. Surely it can't be Braxton Hicks at 17+3?!

tinypolkadot · 14/09/2013 16:46

What a result bear so happy for u! I'm a firm believer in everything happening for a reason and looks like that's certainly the case here Smile congrats on your new job!

We're packing boxes here today. Had a quote from a removal firm this morning and now Dh is worrying about the money and wants to do it himself and maybe pay a couple of mates. We can afford it (just) but think he thinks it's going to detract from what we can buy the baby etc. He has a bad back and tbh I just want someone to come in and move it all for us because I can't be doing with the hassle of it.

I saw a recipe on pinterest for banana and nutella cupcakes, they looked amazing. I made them this morning and nutella just sank to the bottom in a big gloopy lump. They still taste good though.

misskatamari · 14/09/2013 17:05

Ugh marzipanned I'm not surprised you had to leave primark - I frequently do the same when I try and shop there. Just too busy and messy!

Beat that is awesome news about your job! I bet you are so relieved!

DH has made me sort all my crafting shit out after I made him go to ikea and get boxes last night so feeling rather pleased with how neat and tidy things look. Bless him he's started dismantling desks etc in the "office" which will be babies room Grin looks like nesting has hit him and got me as a result too!

Managed to make banana and chocolate cake today woo hoo! Now might attempt coconut macaroons before I do tea. Got a box of that new old El Paso rice kit thing as tried some in Morrisons yesterday and it was yummy so I'm very excited about making a big pot and stuffing my face!

marzipanned · 14/09/2013 17:13

Wuhoo, fab news bear! Happy birthday to your DD! Her cake looks delish and missk's crafting cupboard very neat and tidy :)

I should never have gone into Primark first, it was just the nearest shop to the car park! Buying everything on internet from now on I think.

EeyoreIsh · 14/09/2013 17:15

fab news bear Smile

Milkandtwo · 14/09/2013 18:14

Carrot and orange cake and blueberry marzipan muffins TICK. Very achey after hours stood in kitchen, am not moving from the sofa and eating cake for rest of the weekend.

Milkandtwo · 14/09/2013 18:14

Awesome news about the job Bear!

jazzcat28 · 14/09/2013 18:22

Fantastic news on the job bear that must be such a weight off your shoulders!

I emailed uni about the lack of signatures and obviously no response dur to it being the weekend. Am going to call them first thing Monday and plead insanity due to pregnancy and hope they let me pop in and sign the paperwork.

Back to browsing for prams again. Mum (who is very generously paying) is obsessed with a Bugaboo but I'm not so keen. I am liking the look of the Uppababy Vista and the Mamas & Papas range look good too although DM has turned her nose up at those as they are cheap Hmm

When is everyone going to buy theirs? I don't know whether to hold out until nearer Christmas? Maybe even January sales?

Weird question of the day from DD (3 yrs old) "Mummy, when the baby comes, can we eat it?"

.....feeling disconcerted!
