laura that's so amazing! (the kicks that is, not the nipples)

Eeyore I'm also tall and as you can see from today's 'bump' pic there is barely anything there. In the picture I was pulling my t-shirt back but in my normal clothes I don't look pregnant, just like I've got a bit of a tum. If you google '19 weeks and not showing' it's very reassuring :)

As for the movements - please don't worry, one of the midwives told me she didn't feel anything until 22 weeks in her first pregnancy.

I'm pretty sure that is what I've been feeling now as I've had about 7 or 8 today....only a couple have been twingy and the others have been fluttery....but I only feel them when I'm lying down, so just look out for it at night when you get into bed.

It is incredible and I do feel reassured, but at the same time don't stress if there isn't anything yet!

vix206 · 11/09/2013 21:48

Laura - yes the nipples hurting in the cold is very common I think. It's going to be a hard winter!!!

misskatamari · 11/09/2013 21:48

Awwww Laura an marzi - so exciting you're feeling kicks! I get an odd sensation every now and then when I think it could be but just can't tell. Think I just have wind now Hmm. 19+4 so really hopping to feel something soon. Laura it's so cool that you could see the kicks! Must be amazing to watch x

misskatamari · 11/09/2013 21:49

Lol vix - hard winter Grin god I am so immature!

vix206 · 11/09/2013 21:49

And welcome to fatasbutter :)

laura0007 · 11/09/2013 21:50

I tried to record it so I could put it on Facebook for you guys to see but couldn't get my phone out fast enough before it stopped!

marzipanned · 11/09/2013 21:58

Ooh sorry missed fatasbutters intro, welcome! And so sorry about the MCs - yes, definitely sounds like things are real this time! :)

misskat sounds like it probably is, the reason I have decided that's what it is is that it just doesn't feel like anything else - you know the sort of twinges you get when you've got wind - well I had a couple of those around the same time as some of the fluttery kicks and it was just completely different. Try to figure out the difference between the wind feelings and the other feelings! (Oh, the things you get to say in pregnancy...)

Poppy954 · 11/09/2013 22:22

Love the bump pictures today. My 'OCD' won't let me take a bump picture on a Wednesday as Friday is the start of each new week!!

Eeyore and champagne, don't worry. I know five women
All due in november and they are all completely different sizes. One is very slim but still barely looks pregnant even though she must be headin towards 30 weeks. Can you feel your uterus through the abdominal wall? Lie on your back and gently feel above your pubic bone, you may be able to feel a firm mass which is your uterus and en slowly and gently press gradually further up towards your tummy button and you should feel it start to slope away at the top. If you can feel it then a few days later feel again and you'll notice the top is a bit higher up showing that your uterus is growing as it should be. If you google height of uterus diagram you'll also see where it should be.
Another tip for feeling movements is sit leaning slightly forward and your knees pulled up towards your chest ( not to the point you are uncomfortable) and concentrate on the feeling your abdomen. You might just notice a little poke ir flutter.

Apologies for all the typos. I'm a stickler for spelling and grammar but posting on a phone doesn't allow for much proof reading !

Hi rehune and fatasbutter

Laura I'm really hoping for a mild winter. A sudden blast of cold air had me howling out loud driving home today. think I need to work on my pain threshold before actual labour gets near

A generous but anonymous friend has sent me 'expecting better' in the post - I was really touched that he/she was so thoughtful, just too sleepy to think about reading it though.

Think I might have had a few flutterings during my orchestra rehearsal tonight. Either bambino objected to the loud trumpety bits waking it up or it's going to be a musician Grin

sunflowered · 11/09/2013 23:38

And thanks bear (and others) for the bra fitting link and advice. I'm off to bravissimo when I'm up in the big smoke next week to update my wardrobe. Dh would be extremely pleased about this particular part of pregnancy if only they weren't quite so sore Sad

jazzcat28 · 12/09/2013 07:29

sunflowered I am also a musician and looking forward to first rehearsal of the term weekend after next when I'll be 19wks - hoping the noise will encourage some movement!

Well I finally got some sleep last night after nearly 24hrs without due to bloody insomnia. It was such a relief. I was getting beyond myself yesterday and spent a lot of the day in tears - not helped by watching midwives!!! I really don't do well on no sleep! In the end my solution was to stay up till half ten watching the film Orphan - never to be recommended if you want to adopt!!! Smile Surprisingly I slept well after that. No sleep in though as have my dd in bed with me watching cbeebies.

Just about caught up with all your posts have my 20 week scan two weeks today yay Grin hi to you all and sorry for aches, pains and sicknessSad

durk79 · 12/09/2013 09:20

wow what a revelation......no more measuring in M&S for bras! measured myself using the guide and it was so different, then went to bravissimo and they got the same as I had, I've gone from 38D to a 32GG!!!!!!!!!! I can't get over how fab they feel in a correctly fitting bra. I also can't believe that all of my adult life I've been in the wrong size!! Wink
Got a consultant antenatal app this afternoon to check out some cardiac arrhythmias I've been having. Had them pre pregnancy but could take meds for it then but can't take them now as would affect the baby, so just getting with it now. Fingers crossed he's says all is ok.

bugsyburge · 12/09/2013 11:35

morning all,

I'm still catching up from the weekend- you've been a chatty bunch!!!!!

I've been reading the stuff you've been saying about entitlements & vouchers etc with interest & just wondered if anyone knew if there are any entitlements I'm due as I'm clueless about all of this stuff & my company won't be forthcoming..... this is my first dc & my company only pay 90% for 6weeks & then smp for 33 weeks..... I will get my 25 days holiday & bank hols ( I think) but is there anything else I should hope for?Grin

Hi Everyone and hi to rehune and fatasbutter

I had some hellish leg cramp in the middle of the night - all down my calf and my whole foot was twisted out of shape, it was horrible! I hope it's a one off and I don't have to deal with that every night.

Got my scan on the 23rd - seems like so long away still. Think I've been feeling some little kicks, but like others I'm not really sure...

19+2 today

marzipanned · 12/09/2013 15:08

Ugh, think I mentioned earlier we had a mould problem... it's actually dry rot and it seems like large chunks of the house are going to have to be ripped out to treat it! Not sure what we're going to do - might have to move. Nightmare, nightmare!

Hope the appointments go well today mrscookie and durk.

LovesToBake · 12/09/2013 15:17

Marzipanned that sounds like a nightmare - have you just had a surveyor round then? Presume you own the house do you? Does insurance cover it?

marzipanned · 12/09/2013 15:32

Yep the surveyor just came, we thought it was a superficial problem but apparently not!

Fortunately we don't own it, we are renting, so we can move - but it would just be an enormous PITA (and having had a quick look for rental properties in our area, nowhere appeals at all) We have been thinking about buying in the area but don't want to rush into the purchase of the wrong place just because of desperation for a new home!

tinypolkadot · 12/09/2013 16:28

My job's just started to be advertised, I feel quite weird about it Sad

SugarMiceInTheRain · 12/09/2013 16:48

Hi all, sorry I've been awol a few days as my mum was up staying. My uncharacteristic (and rather premature) nesting phase seems to still be in full flow and have decluttered more areas of my house - mum has helped the last day or two in between us rushing here there and everywhere, so I'm exhausted.

No more baby news here - though I seem to be starting to get indigestion/ acid reflux. Lovely. Honestly, all the horrendous problems that come with pregnancy, which people don't tell you about! If they did go into graphic detail about HG, constipation, piles, insomnia and so on.... the human race might die out Grin My hayfever is driving me insane as I can't take antihistamines so going round looking very red-eyed. And still suffering from headaches every evening which paracetamol doesn't touch Hmm My previous pregnancies were much easier
