Stom91 · 17/09/2013 16:40

mum I was watching the end of dirty dancing last night and Lil one was having a party to the music at the end.. My tummy was going crazy lol. Going to be a dancer like her auntie I think lol.
I've had no boob leakage. - the whole thing freaks me out been reading about breast feeding... I know it good and all natural and stuff but it makes me really uncomfortable :/ I feel Sooo bad for feeling like that.

Its bloody freezing burnout storage heaters cost too much so trying to survive with hot water bottles and the duvet ! Can't wait to move into a warm house.
Be weird though as the house will have all of BIL furniture so. Won't feel like ours for a while!

MrsShrubs · 17/09/2013 16:50

mum yesterday I felt like anything and everything little boy could flail around in there he was all day long, watching my stomach move all over the place was so entertaining. Today he's kind of gone back to normal again!

WhisperMen · 17/09/2013 17:40

brr it's bloody cold today Sad

went to town to try in some maternity jeans and coats and I feel like a short fat lump. none of the jeans looked nice or fitted and tried on a coat and had to go up to size 20 for it to be able to fit for more than a week. I only went to get sizes because it's my birthday soon and DP said he would get me them for it if I tried them on and chose what I wanted.

I ended up walking home in the rain bawling my eyes out because I feel so horrible.
DP surprised me on his lunch break with a pot of chocolate brownie icecream so I've snuggled up on the sofa with 3 blankets to watch dexter and eat it.

I've not had any leakage either and to be honest it freaks me out a bit too storm I just don't know if i'll be able to breastfeed because I find it weird which makes me feel really guilty.

Stom91 · 17/09/2013 18:14

whisper im so glad im not the only one. i thought i was abut weird because it freaks me out. DP asked the other day when will they start leaking.. i was like errr.. duno soon i guess.. but i just find all weird.
the idea of it makes me cringe and i know that sounds soo bad.

i think i will try and express rather than trying to get baby to latch, as DP really wants to be able to feed her too. maybe that wont freak me out so much?

awww thats so nice of your DP whisper we have no food at the mo so off shopping when DP gets home!! woo :)
ooh and i LOVE dexter! waiting for season 7 to go on lovefilm. ive watched them all barr season 7 and 8!
i also love vampire diaries! that's also a good one to watch got my mum hooked on it lol.
im going to look for a coat tomorrow in Portsmouth but i have a feeling im going to come home disappointed too :(

abcdemma · 17/09/2013 18:31

My OH isn't too impressed with potential leakage either Stom, I think his words were "so there's gonna be bodily fluid everywhere" lol
Just splashed out on more shoes (courtesy of Bounty's email about half price boots) so can't raid any maternity sales till next paypacket.... this having money lark is dangerous haha
Whisper surely you're better going for a maternity coat rather than going up to a size 20 in normal coats which, as you say, won't fit for long. You'll be able to sell it on ebay easily next winter too :)

WhisperMen · 17/09/2013 18:33

I ended up downloading season 7 as I got fed up of waiting for it to come on netflix or love film Grin I've watched 3 episodes already Grin

WhisperMen · 17/09/2013 18:36

I couldn't find a maternity coat I liked so thought I would see how normal ones faired. I'll probably get a maternity one though.

MildredH · 17/09/2013 19:04

Thanks for the reminder Nom- I remember you mentioned them before but I think things weren't bad enough to warrant it. Now it's cranked up I'm off to amazon to order..

Should be packing- we're off to Majorca back to our lovely honeymoon hotel for 3 nights at the crack of dawn tomo. Last pre baby hol just the two of us. Can't wait to do nothing at all and look at the sea Smile

WhisperMen · 17/09/2013 19:29

ooh have a lovely time mildred I'm totally jealous of you! think of us shivering away while you're sunning yourself Grin

kchapper5 · 17/09/2013 19:32

hi again everyone, ive been away camping so had no internet, just thought id check in and see how everyones doing. Hope all is well
xx

Alyssa1978 · 17/09/2013 21:02

Woo hoo, squeezed both nipples and they leaked clear Grin

Sorry lol but they never did that with ds1 and 2, is it wrong to get excited that you're leaking fluid? Lol

Didnt breast feed either baby long as they just seemed to be hungry all the time so I had to top up and I thought what's the point of giving formula and boob, so I'm hoping this is a good sign and ill be able to breast feed number 3 for longer...... Woop whoop Grin

On another note, at work today a lady came in who only has 2 weeks to go
(Lucky thing) and her mother said to her "and you thought you were big, you're tiny compared to her" Angry I was like.....I've been pregnant 3 times in 4 years and your daughter has a 9 year age gap, my womb never went back to normal and my growth scan says baby is spot on weight wise!!!!

Poor women didnt know how quick to leave lmao, while I'm shouting after her, sorry im hormonal today Confused

I should have just shouted ITS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO TELL SOMEONE THEY ARE HUGE LADY!!!

Anyone else get annoyed at that? Please someone so I don't feel as bad Wink

Stom91 · 17/09/2013 21:14

Haha well done! Bloody cheek!

Yea I would have been very annoyed!!

I hope she felt bad lol

MildredH · 17/09/2013 21:20

Alyssa this seems to be ok in the eyes of most people.. ( it's absolutely not). I've never been commented on so much in my life! Argghh Angry

Chilli81 · 17/09/2013 23:11

Alyssa good on you! I'm sick of it.what makes people think it's ok?!
a girl at work who I normally get on with with said "wow you're getting massive". I snapped back "thanks" in what must have been an obviously sarcastic tone because she then added "but you look really good". I wasn't in the mood ny then so I just carried on walking. Angry
aaargh!
hope everyones ok. thought I'd get in on the nipple squeezing action but nothing only really sensitive sore sore nipples. hmmmm doesn't bode well.

LadyMedea · 18/09/2013 07:28

Posted this in pregnancy but thought I'd give you guys a bite if the cherry...

I managed to get my mitts on the New Look maternity snood coat before it sold out (like this one but with higher belt). I ordered two sizes and now will be returning the size 16.

Before I send it back would anybody like to buy it off me for cost price plus postage (or pick up from Reading). I paid £29.99 and I can find out postage can't imagine it would much.

It's such a great coat didn't want to just return it without offering!

Stom91 · 18/09/2013 08:50

If i don't find one today I'll have it. I'll. Let you know later on :) xx

Stom91 · 18/09/2013 09:18

Uh oh. Just found my first stretch marks due to pregnancy!! :( and i thought I was going to get away with it lol.
Hope everyone had a good day x

Gannetgob · 18/09/2013 09:29

Thanks for the reassurance about the nipples! Glad I'm not the only one!

Oh no alyssa. That's not good. I haven't had any negative comments like that but people seem to like to touch me. I really don't mind when my friends at work do it, but the head of RE decided to get in on it the other day. It's just awkward isn't it? When he found out I was pregnant. He took the 'was it planned?' question to a whole new level and asked 'was it a mistake?' People are morons! Try to take no notice!

I'm currently sitting in a waiting room having my test for gestational diabetes. I knew I would be sitting around waiting for 2 hours after my drink thing so put my kindle and phone together on the side ready to keep me entertained. Halfway here, I realised I had neither. Baby brain! Was so mad with myself! Luckily I was going past my mums house so popped in to borrow her ipad. Anybody else had the test or having it soon?

Featherbag · 18/09/2013 10:13

I had it at 16 weeks Gannet, as I had GD in my last pregnancy. All clear so far tough, touch wood!

itsliz · 18/09/2013 10:21

Bloody hell Alyssa, good on you! People really do need to learn to be more tactful around pregnant women (especially when our hormones make us such a force to be reckoned with!) Grin

Met up with two of my best friends on Friday who both greeted me with "You're HUGE!" As they're my friends I let them get away with it though (and besides, they're not wrong!)

Gannet that sounds exactly like the sort of thing I'd do! Hope you don't get too bored! What exactly does the test involve? Haven't been told anything about it by my GP or midwife yet, so I have no idea whether I'll need to have it done or not.

Had my 25 week appointment yesterday and walked away feeling so, so proud of my little man - he seems to be bang on average for everything at the moment, his heartbeat has grown so much stronger and apparently I'm measuring exactly right for my dates etc. Couldn't be happier! Smile

NomDeClavier · 18/09/2013 10:27

I'm having it in a couple of weeks because DS was 4kg gannet. Apparently it's a risk factor despite the fact he's still at the top of the centile chart and DH and I are going to have big babies! He's 6ft6 for crying out loud!

WhisperMen · 18/09/2013 10:31

ooh gannet I have my GD test on friday. What do they actually do? I have to be there at 8.30am and it's a 20-30 min walk from my flat with the speed I currently walk at. Not looking forward to that early morning!

I have been in floods of tears this morning as my Uni friend messaged me asking if it would be okay to buy me some maternity stuff off ebay because she knows how hard up we are for money and doesn't like to think of me being upset about the way I look. Some people are so lovely!

I had a shower this morning and got stuck! it's one of those over the bath showerheads so you have to climb in the bath, but I couldn't lift the second leg high enough to get out. Luckily DP hadn't left for work else I'm not sure what I would have done! My hips are really painful today which didn't help.

Oh no. Stretch marks suck storm I have loads from when I was a teenager and a bit bigger than I am now. So not looking forward to getting more Sad

One positive thing. Stepped on the scales today and I have apparently lost weight. Who gets pregnant and loses weight? I think it's because my diet was terrible before and now I am eating lots of veggies and healthy stuff.

5ammy · 18/09/2013 10:59

Ganet

I had the test yesterday - what a waste of time and NHS money!

I drank the huge thing of lucozade then they said 'how do you feel?' - I said - 'how would you feel I you had to drink that stuff first thing in the morning and weren't allowed any water, or a walk or anything? I feel dreadful!'. I don't understand why there wasting money in GTT. Especially with low risk patients.

I felt better after the 2 hrs and really enjoyed all the water I drank afterwards - cant be good for me or baby though to drink that stuff.

I came home and slept for hours. Not a good start to the day.
