I cant see mine either its quite depressing! Lol
. Yup with you one the 'your huge front'
At mw appointment I'm the right size so stuff them hah

I think a pregnancy pillow may be a good investment for me.
15 weeks and counting!

Soopermum1 · 07/09/2013 22:11

Allysa, I got DH to tidy up my bikini line on holiday. He used artistic license and I ended up with more than a tidy up. I felt violated, but I suppose I don't have to look at his handywork for the next 3 months.

Carole803 · 07/09/2013 23:35

Hi storm, joining the fb group would be great. How do I get in on the action? :)

Stom91 · 07/09/2013 23:36

Private message me your name and I'll add you in :)

Carole803 · 07/09/2013 23:42

I have been given a pregnancy pillow, but I am finding it is still too warm at night to use, so I have a couple of those bean bag cushion pillow things to prop me up and kick out of bed if I get too hot.

Plus the pillow is so big, DP might not have any room to fit in the bed, and I don'want to kick him out just yet.

I am hoping the weather to have cooled down by the time I really need the big pillow, but I am already considering employing a local scaffolding firm to help support me, so I don't think I will be able to ignore the calls of the pillow for much longer :(

Morning! DH has just left to go and do an Ironman. Now I can't get back to sleep. (For those of you who don't know, it's a Triathlon of crazy proportions- approx 3km swim, 140km bike and then a marathon) might take him over 12 hours to do. He's been training for months and its been a dream of his for a few years. Now I'm crapping myself worrying about him and the irrational pregnant side of me is worried he's going to keel over and leave me, pregnant with his third child and left to bring up the kids by myself!!

Going to go watch him from around 2pm onwards later. Now to try and get back to sleep...but now I'm hungry!...

Pregnancy pillows sound like a good idea- have the dream genii in the loft but lost the cover which is annoying- also found it wasn't the most supportive pillow but better than nothing.

Alyssa1978 · 08/09/2013 10:45

Bloody hell mum just reading that is making me tired lol.

Exactly stom I think I'm snapping at people now when they mentioning his big i am, I just wanna scream "I'm pregnant what's your excuse" Grin

Lol sooper dp did exactly the same, I ended up bald Blush I have to admit it feels tons better though lol.

I'm dreading tomorrow, I have a works conference to go to, I have to be up at 4am to get my taxi at 5am to get a train from Durham to Newcastle to Edinburgh, sit through a conference for 7 hours and then make the trip back Confused I was bloody pregnant last year as well when I had to do it, although not as far along and that was bad enough Sad

Needless to say ds1 is staying with my mum and ds2 with dp's mum and dad, although they will have to stay tonight and tomorrow so I'm gonna miss my babies Sad
Will probably stay at mums the night I get back though so at least I can see them both for a bit.

Lol carole when I was pregnant last time my pregnancy pillow was in and dp was out the bed Grin he was also snoring really bad back then too and I was getting no sleep, so hence I was hell to be around Blush

CryingGivesMeAHeadache · 08/09/2013 10:47

Hope you managed to get some more sleep mum Your DH must be mental!

I really want a pregnancy pillow, but I'm going to have to wait for a month or two because we can't afford one yet Sad

Having a cosy day today as it's chilly outside. Got my favorite warm jumper on and am going to snuggle under a blanket on the sofa and watch cute movies.

Feel a lot better about the way I look today which is nice. I like being able to look in the mirror and not want to burst into tears!

Enjoy your Sunday everybody.

mumoftwoboysS · 08/09/2013 10:55

correction a 180km bike! Yep I think he is a bit crazy! I managed to fall back asleep eventually then put the tv on at 7 for the kids so I could go back to bed/snooze for another 1 1/2 hours! (moi use the tv as a babysitter, hell yeah! sometimes it has to be done!)

btw, what are people putting on their bumps? I was given (a freebie) a bottle of Maternicare pre and post natal cream and around the same time got a rash on my belly. Stopped using it then a few days ago used it again to see if it was that, and hey presto, another itchy red rash so that's not going anywhere near my bump again. I've been using Palmers cocoa butter moisturiser but the fragrance free one (since my skin seems to be very sensitive atm) it's so lovely so hopefully it'll help tho it's not strictly for bumps/stretchmarks.

good luck with your conference Alyssa doesn't sound like much fun when pregnant! esp getting up that early Sad

mumoftwoboysS · 08/09/2013 10:56

crying have you tried just propping your bump up with some extra pillows and one between your legs? would probably do the same job and save some money- tbh pregnancy pillows aren't really a necessity tho I know it's hard to use separate pillows to get the same effect!

mumoftwoboysS · 08/09/2013 10:57

oh and I wouldn't recommend the dream genii really -don't think it's big/plump enough to really make a difference

CryingGivesMeAHeadache · 08/09/2013 10:59

I have been using separate pillows but it's just not working. they just move around and separate and make me frustrated haha. It's my birthday at the end of October so I have asked for one then Grin

ooh getting up that early when not pregnant is bad enough Alyssa good luck, hope it's not too stressful.

mumoftwoboysS · 08/09/2013 11:04

ah shit. Just tried on a pair of maternity jeans I wore in my last pregnancy (this is literally the first time i've felt cold enough to wear jeans) and they're too bloody tight! must be fatter this time around Grin

mumoftwoboysS · 08/09/2013 11:13

I could do with a soft/comfy pair of jogging bottoms for lounging around- anyone found a good pair anywhere? I may see if NL have any...

CryingGivesMeAHeadache · 08/09/2013 11:16

I got some maternity leggings off ebay mum and I have lived in them since 16 weeks. Comfiest things every made and they're also pretty warm if you wear cosy socks with them.

abcdemma · 08/09/2013 13:08

Only actually got one pair of mat jeans and they've not arrived yet :( Lost some weight in early pg so my normal jeans are now too big for me which is twice as annoying cause I have to wear a belt which digs into me... may have to hit ebay again... mum I got some elasticated cargo trousers from asda for a tenner, the waistband is really thick so perfect really, it was a couple of months ago so not sure if they've still got them.
I'm slathering on the Palmers too, got stretch marks from teenage years so will prob be the same in pg but so far so good :)
Just bought a knife block for the kitchen so pillow will have to wait till next wage packet sigh

itsliz · 08/09/2013 14:01

Ooh I have the same amazon pregnancy pillow as 5ammy and it's fab!
I've had it since about week 12 and it's the only way I can get a decent sleep, especially now that little bean's favourite hobbies seem to include sitting on my bladder and waking me up 4 or 5 times a night...!

As for moisturising the bump, I've been using the Palmer's massage lotion coupled with the Palmer's tummer butter. It hasn't prevented me from getting any stretchmarks but (so far) they're not too red or angry looking, just lots of little faint ones.
My mum also bought me some of the Naked stretchmark lotion which I've been using during the day as its not as oily and sticky. It's chemical free and made from 100% natural ingredients so great for sensitive skin. It also smells like cake, so I've had to try very hard not to eat it...! Grin

Best of luck for tomorrow by the way, Alyssa!

itsliz · 08/09/2013 14:03

**Tummy butter, not tummer butter Grin

Also worth bearing in mind, for those of you worried about how much space a pregnancy pillow will take up, my DP absolutely loves my pillow and always ends up snuggling up to it in the night, haha! Grin

violetbean · 08/09/2013 15:04

I bought a v-shaped pillow from Argos for a tenner and that's been pretty good for wedging between knees and/or under bump at night, sometimes it falls out of bed though Smile

My old Lillywhites jogging bottoms are still really comfy.

Can't wait until weather gets colder, want to be able to snuggle into my coat (bought on New Look online, totally love it!) instead of feeling roasting hot all day!

Hmm, I feel a bit like this post has been sponsored by the high street. Wish we were on commission! Grin

CryingGivesMeAHeadache · 08/09/2013 15:27

violet I really can't wait for it to get colder. I was genuinely excited that I needed to wear a jumper today. I am so over sweating all over the place. I have always preferred cold weather anyway. It's much easier to get warm than stay cool. Besides, you can't eat yummy puddings with hot custard in warm weather. Grin

LadyMedea · 08/09/2013 15:35

Twiglet is now definitely objecting to having an ipad propped up on my belly. Yesterday DH thought it would be funny to blow a loud raspberry on my belly, twiglet did an almighty movement. Try it, it was fun! Poor baby must have had a real a shock.

Mmm... Posts about comfy trousers have reminded me of my vertbaudet jogging bottoms with super stretchy giant waistband. I'm just running a bath but those are definitely going on afterwards.

DH is at college this weekend as he's studying for professional exams so I'm all lonely. Cats are ok company but they only whinge back at me. Been back to back watching Revenge on lovefilm instant. Gave me really weird dreams last night with lots of back stabbing and intrigue.

CryingGivesMeAHeadache · 08/09/2013 15:45

lady my DP is always blowing rasberries on my belly. baby wriggles loads after. It always makes me laugh.

I've not moved off the sofa for about 3 hours as i'm shattered. DP due home at 5ish and I have no idea what to have for dinner. Sick to the back teeth of pasta or rice Sad

Stom91 · 08/09/2013 16:05

mum my dp want to do that ironman thing. I'm not too keen!! Lol

As for trouser... I have to maternity jeans but they are getting tight!!

I have seen my dp since 1pm yesterday :(
He went to a bbq and hasn't been back since lol.

I made a cake earlier and feel sick cos I've eaten too much of it lol

I can't wait to buy my new coat. I love autumn!
I've been watching Emily opens MD on love film. I'm addicted!

MsCatShoes · 08/09/2013 17:02

For jogging bottoms I've found my yoga jogging bottoms with the waistband unfolded has been fantastic for bump (TKMaxx for £10 - so comfy).

Getting more bumpy these last few weeks with Junior, which made painting the skirting boards of the nursery like it's own Ironman challenge - but we now nearly have a nursery!

crying - I'm on a baked potato kick at the moment - really nice with cheese!

clare8allthepies · 08/09/2013 17:44

We're having roast chicken dinner in a minute, yummy!

Just ordered some baby stuff, we were going to get a new pram for the new arrival (and I was getting very carried away looking at really swanky ones in John Lewis) but my other half decided that the pram we had for our daughter is fine so we've hauled it out of the cupboard and cleaned it up.
As we don't have a car and do a lot of walking I've ordered a buggy board so my little girl can ride on, the one I was looking at was £65 full price but £54 on kiddicare plus they've got an offer where if you spend £100 then you get £15 off so have ordered a moses basket and stand too.
Of course neither of us is going to be in on Tuesday when it's going to be delivered but never mind!
