Looks like we need another new thread Blush- we've been rather busy!

Up to date (ish) Stats thread here:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/a1694946-September-2013-STATS-THREAD

As previously- Welcome newbies! If anyone wants to join the Facebook group (better for sharing documents and pictures- especially picture of gorgeous babies), please message myself or jennimoo with your real life name and email address and we can add you to the group!

Bring on the irritating texts from family members and best friends to find out whether you've had your babies or not (like you wouldn't tell them.....), more weird and disgusting labour symptoms, more internal examinations than you can shake a stick at, and LOTS OF BABIES!

I hope you're off the toilet now! Definitely the plug if its snotty green and old blood brown. And waves of pain sounds like contractions. I don't think you need to call unless close together, hopefully you've gone back to sleep.

badguider · 03/09/2013 04:10

Sounds like plug!
Mine came out in one big 'plop'.

Good luck, remember to breathe slowly and relax as much as possible.

CheeseStrawCraving · 03/09/2013 05:00

Ooh sounds like it's happening Lotsa, good luck!

Kittenkatzen · 03/09/2013 07:21

Oooh good luck lotsa, keep us posted!

So lovely waking up to exciting baby news every morning at the moment! Smile

TripleRock · 03/09/2013 08:54

Good luck Lotsa!

I am seeing consultant tomorrow at 38+3 and have the chance of a sweep. DHs and my instinct is that it's far too soon, but we're happy to talk it over at the appointment and then decide.

Childish I know, but I feel quite shy about it. Plus my backside is really sore from piles (sorry TMI, Prep H is my friend) and I'd just rather not have someone have a good old gander and a rummage round there just yet... Anyone else feel the same?

Fozziebearmum2be · 03/09/2013 08:55

Good luck Lotsa :-)

Woken up this morning after feeling rubbish for a few days and bump has severely dropped!! 36+6-feeling much better today.

Is there any guide on how soon a bump drops vs how soon baby comes for a first baby? Assuming probably not, but dh and I are pretty convinced this one will be here early sure hospital dated me wrong by a week

Tat71 · 03/09/2013 08:56

After planned induction yesterday morning (only needed gel, then broke waters & all kicked off) I had the fastest & most straightforward of my three births, my beautiful little girl born yesterday. Good luck to you all, it's the best thing in the world.

Fozziebearmum2be · 03/09/2013 08:58

Triple-I feel the same, sure I won't care when I'm in the midst of labour, but only seen female drs previously so dreading possibility of random man having a rummage Blush

Mw's are all female, but think drs are mainly male so praying for no intervention.. But tbh probably won't care by then

Fozziebearmum2be · 03/09/2013 08:59

Wow-congrats tat! Lovely news Grin

Readytosettle · 03/09/2013 09:18

There's a male mw at our hospital fozzie...I'm not sure how I'd feel if I got him. I guess u get over it...plus I'm guessing some of the docs are male anyways...

TripleRock · 03/09/2013 09:21

Exactly Fozzie, it for some reason matters to me that 1) it's a bloke (surprising myself there) and 2) it's in the cold light of day. The midst of labour ones where you've already got half your kit of anyway don't worry me much at all and are much less painful by that stage anyway.

TripleRock · 03/09/2013 09:30

Weirdly Ready, I feel ok about a male MW.

I think it's a different balance of power with a Consultant. I'm always slightly nervous before the Cons appointments compared to the normal MW ones. Also feel the need to dress reasonably smartly and be prepared beforehand in terms of any questions, whereas MW appointments are much more laid back.

The thought if dropping my drawers so Mr Consultant can have a look weirds me out. As if he was a head teacher or my boss or something... Totally silly on my part I fear

RakeABedOfTyneFilth · 03/09/2013 09:44

Well good morning all. It's 41 weeks for me today, by the scan calendar, and 40 weeks by my cycles, which I know to the day because I was quietly OPK-ing just for information while Just Shagging for TTC... So I have a 14 day literal phase, 28 day cycle, have had one 9lb+ baby before but oh no, if it has a whatever cm CRL on the day the scan is done, it must be 12w6d gestation. Because all foetuses of all parents' ethnic mix and body shapes are exactly the same size as they develop, yes? Ggggrrrrrrrr.

And not a twinge. An ok night's sleep.

Congratulations Tat!

RakeABedOfTyneFilth · 03/09/2013 09:49

Literal --> luteal

amiready · 03/09/2013 10:06

Thanks badguider, that's helpful. Must remember to breathe. I've told DH he needs to remember all these things and remind me - although he will probably get his head bitten off once he tries. Ah well.

Good luck Lotsa

Sorry you feel fed up Rake. I'm 39+2 but hoping it will be a bit delayed as I'm catching up on my to do list for the first time in ages!! Also DH has told me that I can't have it this week as he is covering 3 people at work! Hmm He said he would have to still go in if I did! Not sure about that one....

Anyone else wondering how the care will split between yourself and DH when they are 'going to work' and we are 'not'? e.g. weekend lie ins, going for nights out etc. He keeps murmuring about wanting to do lots of hobbies....

CharlW1 · 03/09/2013 11:04

Haven't posted since I had my gorgeous baby girll ast Thursday (Isla Olive) - just wanted to say congratulations to all the new arrivals - it really is do lovely hearing everyone's news.
I hope those waiting won't gave to wait too much longer.

Best tip so far (being a first timer) is putting a muslin cloth over the Moses basket mattress - it's saved me from completely having to change the sheet numerous times - so thank you to whoever passed this tip on Smile

LotsaTuddles · 03/09/2013 11:08

Well, at 2:20 ish this morning my waters broke (pretty impressively, into the toilet) but the baby had pooed, so was told to go straight in.

When MW did examination, she found that he was breech so did a scan to confirm.

So because he was breech, I had to have an emergency Caesarian and at 5:29 this morning little zach was born weighing 5lb 13, he's perfectly healthy apart from he's got a bit of mucus where he'd breathed in some of the miconin (or however you spell it).

Was quite amusing as MW was saying that due to the miconin they will probably induce me, then examined and said that even if he wasn't breech, they wouldn't need to as he was coming quickly. When they but my catheter in, she could see his butt making an appearance.

So, I'm currently laying in hospital, with my gorgeous baby who wriggles as much in his sleep as his dad does Grin

I was quite scared of getting an epidural, but it was nothing compared to the contractions. Although, it really is true. I think I've forgotten how bad they were already

TripleRock · 03/09/2013 11:17

Congrats Lotsa, gosh what a rollercoaster!

jennimoo · 03/09/2013 11:18

Congratulations lotsa! Glad it all worked out.

fl0b0t · 03/09/2013 11:29

Congrats lota and tat :-) hurrah for even more babies!

I'm having a very slow day after a rather over long picnic in the sun yesterday. Have succeeded at washing up and de-fluffing below with complex mirror set up and now very tired, but off for lunch soon with kitten juniper purple and ready (I think!)

OP posts:
PurplePoppySeed · 03/09/2013 12:05

Oops, baby brain strikes again, it's just the three of us again as kitten and juniper are not on mat leave yet, was going to see if we can sort something in the evening later this week or next week instead!

fl0b0t · 03/09/2013 12:10

NP! See you there!

badguider · 03/09/2013 14:19

Have fun guys!

MrsMangoBiscuit · 03/09/2013 15:01

Congratulations to both Lotsa and Tat!

Triple, I used to feel exactly the same way about consultants! Now I work in HR at the hospital, and it's just impossible to feel threatened by anyone you've had to explain an expense form to 3 times! Grin Most of them are really, really nice, but I do see a fair bit of the "highly intelligent people have no common sense" theory in practice. The only awkward part for me is seeing one of the doctors who's treated me, come into my office, and thinking "God I hope you don't recognise me when I'm upright and dressed!" Grin

ION first "day off" for mat leave, with DD in preschool, and no work. I've had a lovely long bath, exfoliated, moisturised, and even fake tanned my legs. My skin doesn't know what's hit it. Now off to Ikea to buy potato cakes as I've had a hankering for them all day.

I hope all of you with new arrivals are managing to get enough sleep, and I hope all of you still expecting aren't getting too fed up.

Kittenkatzen · 03/09/2013 15:35

Congrats lotsa, bit I am eventful night for you then!

fl0 et al, hope you have a fun catch up, looking forward to meeting you all soon Grin
