Looks like we need another new thread Blush- we've been rather busy!

Up to date (ish) Stats thread here:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/a1694946-September-2013-STATS-THREAD

As previously- Welcome newbies! If anyone wants to join the Facebook group (better for sharing documents and pictures- especially picture of gorgeous babies), please message myself or jennimoo with your real life name and email address and we can add you to the group!

Bring on the irritating texts from family members and best friends to find out whether you've had your babies or not (like you wouldn't tell them.....), more weird and disgusting labour symptoms, more internal examinations than you can shake a stick at, and LOTS OF BABIES!

O mango you've really been through the mill over the last few days and its understandable that you'd be feeling a bit low. As a fellow c sectioner, I'd say that a vaginal birth isn't all it's cracked up to be, at least we have no damage to our bits! (No offence to non c-sectioners) ;) I really hope the doctors are able to sort out your referred pain and that you are home and on the mend very soon.

Wincher · 20/09/2013 12:31

Oh wow Mango, how scary and unpleasant that sounds. I hope you are on the mend now.

Things are ok here, ds2 has had two marginally better nights where I was actually able to settle him in his cot between feeds and drop off to sleep myself. I was hoping to catch another couple pf hours kip this morning butt he has been awake on anandoff, just as I was about to drop off each time. I gavenup in the end as was too hungry to sleep having only had a banana since dinner last night. Dh says he will make lunch shortly but am currently on the sofa with a now sleeping baby on me!

kipsonline · 20/09/2013 13:58

Oh mango that sounds like a real ordeal, poor you. I would say your reaction is entirely justified, you need to give yourself some time and space to readjust to the different birth and feeding experiences vs expectations and the pain from what sounds like major surgery. Sending big non MN hugs your way and hope you are well enough to go home soon x

SGJ · 20/09/2013 17:36

Wow Mango, you are hardcore, I'd be a blubbering wreck 24/7 so I think you're doing an amazing job even writing about your birth story. Big respect to you, and big hugs too. Hope you start to feel better soon and don't push yourself too hard too soon x

MrsMangoBiscuit · 20/09/2013 19:06

Thank you all. It's a bit odd, I keep swinging between feeling so sad that it all went the way it did, and that I won't be breast feeding despite her doing so well. And then feeling so happy that we all came through it, so proud of both my girls, and proud of myself, for coping, and for how I handed the bit of labour I did have. I know if my poor insides weren't so messed up, we'd have had my planned birth.

We've had a very good day today. Feeling better, doctors were very happy with my progress, and I've been released. So glad to be home, and the best bit is, DD1 is coming home tomorrow! Can't wait! Grin

Hope everyone is doing well. Congratulations to all the new arrivals. Going to have a proper catch up of the thread in a bit, without the morphine making me fuzzy. Grin

PurplePoppySeed · 20/09/2013 23:12

Oh mango, so sorry to hear how much you've been through the mill! Very traumatic Thanks. But so glad to hear you're all ok and at least they discovered and sorted the scarring before it was too late xx

Mooster1709 · 21/09/2013 01:05

Oh mango, poor you. I hope you start to feel better soon (17th sep is my birthday, so Isobel is in excellent company!).

Things getting much better here. DD managed to sleep for 5 hours straight last night. A fluke I'm sure, but was lovely to have 4 hours sleep.

Should have been full of beans today after that but tried to go to the shops to exchange some baby presents and a) kept having to stop and feed when trying to leave, b) realised buggy doesn't really fit in my boot, and c) got covered in poo and sick as soon as I got back. All a bit of a disaster. Then got in a mood because DH (working from home) hadn't put anything in the dishwasher. Ended up having a big argument about housework and general baby-care. Arrrgh.

Soo, I'm very sceptical about induction wives tales, but getting a bit desperate so last night embarked on a combo of curry, fennel tea, tens & sex....not that far off a normal Friday night for me, but this morning I've been up since 5 feeling pretty rough....and just had a major peuking session. Is it wrong that I'm considering this to be a good sign? Or was the fennel tea just one step too far for my poor abused body?!

fl0b0t · 21/09/2013 07:04

Oh that does sound positive ready. X fennel is gross though! ! Let us know how you get on! !

Readytosettle · 21/09/2013 07:39

Well maybe it'll shock my body into action if nothing else....actually been enjoying the fennel tea...don't like fennel in food but can handle as an aniseed drink.

MrsMangoBiscuit · 21/09/2013 07:43

Sounds hopeful. I felt sick and got stitches on Sunday, waters broke Monday 4am. Get as much rest as you can. Smile

PinkApple86 · 21/09/2013 08:54

Does fennel tea help bring on labour? I've not heard that one and I'm getting desperate

Readytosettle · 21/09/2013 09:43

It was a new one on me, mum thought it would help the heartburn but if you look it up it says don't drink before 37 weeks as it can bring on contractions....

juniper9 · 21/09/2013 09:50

I bought fennel tea right at the beginning, as I found out I couldn't drink camomile and wanted something to help with digestion. When I googled it (whilst drinking it... woops) it did mention that it can cause contractions.

I'm now drinking fennel and raspberry leaf. Who knows if it works.

Readytosettle · 21/09/2013 09:52

Apparently it's also good for lactation & libido....sounds like miracle tea to me!

Fozziebearmum2be · 21/09/2013 11:34

Feeling rubbish...Shock 39+3 and had tightenings last night, had them on one side mainly and wasn't sure if they were bh's/contractions or even baby moving crazily...? Bump went rock hard but was moving too...v odd, also felt my insides were being squeezed! My bump is all baby so when it moves its so unbelievably uncomfy Shock

Shattered today as kept being woken up-so ended up sitting up and trying to sleep (didn't work!)

Feelings have gone off so assume they weren't contractions but wondered if this sounded promising or whether this could be bh's and go on for weeks....

TripleRock · 21/09/2013 11:46

Sounds like me Fozzie.

Bump goes hard and heavy, coupled with period type cramp that builds for about a minute. Plus the squeeze causes baby to get a right kicky wriggle on. Builds up every night but then fades away to nothing after I go to bed.

I'm guessing it's BH, but stronger ones (I have to breathe through it). Who knows! Have had a dicky tum for last day or so now as well 40+6.

Fozziebearmum2be · 21/09/2013 12:09

Same here! Dodgy tummy today and feeling a bit like I have a hot flush Confused

Well hope it breaks out into proper contractions-this will drive me mad..

Good luck!

Kittenkatzen · 21/09/2013 12:17

Babykitten - a boy! - arrived safe and sound late last night GrinGrin he is perfect, DH and I are smitten if not a little shell shocked from a pretty traumatic birth (which I won't share until after we've all popped!)

I'll put full details and a pic on the fb page shortly :))

flipflump · 21/09/2013 12:47

Yay, congratulations kitten!! Will keep an eye on FB for an update

Readytosettle · 21/09/2013 13:55
