Looks like we need another new thread Blush- we've been rather busy!

Up to date (ish) Stats thread here:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/a1694946-September-2013-STATS-THREAD

As previously- Welcome newbies! If anyone wants to join the Facebook group (better for sharing documents and pictures- especially picture of gorgeous babies), please message myself or jennimoo with your real life name and email address and we can add you to the group!

Bring on the irritating texts from family members and best friends to find out whether you've had your babies or not (like you wouldn't tell them.....), more weird and disgusting labour symptoms, more internal examinations than you can shake a stick at, and LOTS OF BABIES!

How do I pm someone? Xx

TripleRock · 17/09/2013 17:16

Welcome newbies!

Samiad , yay another vbac hopeful on the thread! I think I was on my own until now. 40+3 here and nothing happening. ELCS booked for 40+8 but seeing cons tomorrow to request date to be put back to nearer 42 weeks to give my body maximum chance to do it's thing. Got DH coming with me for moral support as having the ELCS date looming has made me a bit teary these last few days.

jennimoo · 17/09/2013 17:20

Long false / latent labour was horrible, my sympathies, but after 3 weeks it seems a distant memory.

To PM click inbox up the top and click new message and pop my NN in. Send me your email and real name and ill add you to Facebook.

RacheyMo2 · 17/09/2013 17:53

Cheers jennimoo I'll try it now :) x

Readytosettle · 17/09/2013 18:18

Purple good to hear that it's finally happening for you! Just out of interest, how do you know it's real this time?

Peregrin · 17/09/2013 18:25

PurplePoppy good luck, I hope it goes smoothly from now on! Maybe at least we'll get to laugh in the face of post-baby sleep deprivation. A two hour kip would sound like heaven right now.

Rachey, yep, sounds like something between BH and false labour like PurplePoppy said.

Kilkers · 17/09/2013 18:30

Good luck Purple, please send some of your labour vibes my way!

SamiadsTiredMummy · 17/09/2013 19:12

Thanks for the welcome ladies.

Cheers Jenni that's really kind, hope the pm got to you ok.

Sorry to hear about all the false labours, it must be physically and emotionally draining. Always remember a midwife say in my last pregnancy every pain counts and is doing something worthwhile, getting you one step closer to meeting your baby, even if the real thing hasn't quite kicked off yet, it's getting your body ready. Little comfort though maybe after days and days of it Hmm

Triple good to know there's a fellow vbac hopeful. Sorry to hear it's getting on top of you at the moment. I assume the consultant will be open to pushing the elective date back further? I have no date as yet, think the plan is to have a chat with hosp at 41weeks assuming I get that far. I think I'd want to get to 41+3 at least before accepting an elective, although defo not going to be induced this time, I'm sure that's where it all went wrong last time for us. So it's either spontaneous labour or section for us! It's such an emotional rollercoaster though, and I really believe a positive mindset is important to how things go, to a certain extent at least. Willing Labour vibes your way (and apologises for essay, you can probably tell I appreciate having another vbac-er (sound like we should be in star wars) hopeful to chat to Smile)

RunningBear78 · 17/09/2013 19:53

Milk is in. Comedy boobs bigger than babybear's head! Well would be comedy if I didnt have such sore nips from constant feeding today and accidentally banging them on things just ordered another bra to hold them. smothering if I should have just bought a sling!!!

PurplePoppySeed · 17/09/2013 20:31

Thanks all Smile the pool is up but not yet filled as I feel like it might be a long slog, but I've got the tens machine on & they're coming about every 15 mins, currently nesting on the sofa watching British bake off on piles of pillows to be comfy... No sign of waters breaking, but my mums never did either!

Midwife planning to come once they are 3 mins apart - feels a bit scary but I understand why now that I've been through days of false starts.

Ready - sorry if TMI but Today has been sooo different to the false labour days - urge to be sitting on the loo all night last night (only place I felt comfortable) & proper clear out. The contractions are in a completely different place, right in my bum and where you normally get period cramps. All top of bump BH type squeezes have stopped and even without waters going I need to wear a pad as every contraction has forced out final plug remnants and end of period type blood!

Weirdly I'm less tired from this than I was over the weekend, contractions are more painful but the false ones never truly subsided, so didn't provide the rest time in between.

PurplePoppySeed · 17/09/2013 20:35

Oh forgot to add - I was moaning that being stuck on the hospital bed for hours yesterday had made my PGP play up over night, but I think it's part of the general labour pains - my whole pelvis just hurts, it was ok over the weekend!

Dorita75 · 17/09/2013 21:22

Good luck purple!

Readytosettle · 17/09/2013 21:50

Thanks for the info Purple....still no sign of anything here (except for more frequent/stronger BH) so wondering what I should be looking out for when the time comes....

Hope all goes well for you & that you have ur little bundle in ur arms soon!

PurplePoppySeed · 17/09/2013 22:07

Thanks. I don't know why, but I feel like it'll still be a while before I share delivery news!

CheeseStrawCraving · 17/09/2013 23:16

Good luck purple! Keep us updated if you can!

Thanks for the extra advice re nappies everyone, I'm still completely unsure about the best types to use, the different parts to them etc. I am going to try to go to a local nappy network meeting to learn more!

Oooh good luck purple, hopefully there's news waiting when I toddle over to the fb page in a minute!

Loving reading all the early days tips from you all. I'm both slightly terrified at what's to come and EnvyEnvy of all your gorgeous squidgy newborns!

I'm 40+6 today and absolutely NO sign that this baby is anything other than quite happy where it is thank you very much. Have also been told that baby has spun back to back now :(

Wibblytummy · 18/09/2013 08:11

Good luck Purple!

I'm with you there Kitten, 40+5 and no signs what so ever of her budging to come out. Hmm

Kittenkatzen · 18/09/2013 08:25

So frustrating isn't it wibbly?! Doesn't help that I stopped work at 35 weeks due to a horrendous commute so feel like I've been waiting forever now!!

PurplePoppySeed · 18/09/2013 09:03

Thanks everyone, rather larger girl than expected, 8lb 4.5oz! Name tbd! Born 5.45am in the pool at home! Neither I or the midwife thought I was that far on when she arrived at 3am so all I took was some paracetamol!

RakeABedOfTyneFilth · 18/09/2013 09:11

Well done Purple!!

PinkApple86 · 18/09/2013 10:09

Wow! We'll done purple and congrats Thanks

TripleRock · 18/09/2013 10:23

Congrats Purple!!!! Well done you!!

Just got back from cons appt. ELCS changed for T+16 Shock with monitoring arranged each day for the 3 days prior.

If baby is not here by then I will be ready to admit defeat I think :)

So relieved. Now have maximum chance for baby to be born naturally!

PurplePoppySeed · 18/09/2013 10:27

Good news triple!

I'll get the name and a pic on Facebook once we've agreed!

Readytosettle · 18/09/2013 12:03

Well done purple! Clearly all that build up was just preparing you for a nice straightforward labour :-) Look forward to seeing a pic soon. X
