Hi girls thought as that thread it quite full we could start a new one here.
Hope you don't mind pink.
How you girls all feeling today? I swear I keep forgetting I'm pregnant when symptoms disappear randomly. But I'm at such early stages, one of the babies of the bunch at just 5+2

Hi all! Disappeared for a bit on holiday, which went better than we thought with my sickness etc.
I think someone asked about cyclizine and when to take it? I take mine first thing when I wake at 6ish, mainly so the drowsiness has hopefully worn off by the time I need to drive to work. Then the next one 8hrs later - luckily I can have a kip in my office usually if I need to!

Didn't take it for first time in weeks today as was ds's 2nd bday party and wanted to feel vaguely present :) not done too bad but feeling increasingly worse now :( party went well though. Can't believe my baby is two on Tuesday!

Have told most close family and friends now - and those we haven't are guessing anyway as I'm huge with bloating! Booking in is weds then scan in few weeks I expect.

I'm in Norwich, 32, second baby :)

Sorry allypally I've never had an early scan. I assume the sonographer would have said if there was anything to worry about.

Welcome mummybee and congratulations. They don't tend to confirm pregnancies.

I had my midwife round earlier. Everything went ok. She's not going to put me under consultant led care despite the pre eclampsia last time she's just going to monitor me closely. She said it was weird seeing me a skinny minnie as by the end of last pregnancy I was so swollen I didn't look like me. She also says we can keep the door open for a homebirth and wait and see how it pans out. Says in some ways could be better due to the speed of my labour with DS. So all nice and positive. Have an appointment booked for tues 1st oct for bloods etc and can expect a letter for scan soon.

coffeewineandchocolate · 08/09/2013 18:36

I'm in west yorkshire

learnasyougo · 08/09/2013 19:00

baaaah! I got my appointment for the 12 week scan. It's for 23rdOctober! I'll be 16+4 then. surely that's too late for the NT scan? I can't believe I have to wait that long before finding out I'm definitely carrying one baby that has a heartbeat. I how it's a clerical error. Sad

ThunderbumsMum · 08/09/2013 19:53

Oh,I think the deadline for nuchal fold testing is 14 weeks. They will have to bring it forward for you. How annoying.

BartBaby · 08/09/2013 19:54

learn yes that does seen a bit late, my me said my scan would need to be before 13+3 if I wanted them to check for downs. Is there a number on the letter? I'd give them a ring and check with them

learnasyougo · 08/09/2013 20:04

I'd better ring them tomorrow. 23rd September seems more like the right timing, not Oct.unless they just can't cope with the demand.

Vikkijayne2507 · 08/09/2013 20:07

I would be very unhappy about that I would ring and explain youd be 16 weeks 4 months by that point. Oh god im getting very worried about when my scan date will be I just kinda wanna know right now that there is a heart beat. Im starting to really worry now there wont be, I think because Im starting to believe and so is oh that there is a baby on the way and it would be so disappointing if there is no heartbeat or no baby at all :(

ChocChaffinch · 08/09/2013 20:39

I am 35

west Midlands

Ninunina · 08/09/2013 21:57

bloomin it sounds like you're throwing up your stomach acid / bile. Are you trying to eat more often? I find my sickness is much worse when my tummy is empty and puking bile is very painful. It seems like a lot of us are sick whilst in RL barely any of my friends get sick. I've really had enough of the 1st trimester now. I hope things improve soon.

Ninunina 9+2, DC2, 31, Malta.

prettyinpink90 · 08/09/2013 22:32

I'm 23, this will be our first baby, from Lancashire Smile

Still can't be sure on my dates, hopefully will be able to clarify at the early reassurance scan a week today.

ThedementedPenguin · 08/09/2013 22:54

ninunina I love Malta. I almost moved there but chickened out. Have always wanted to go back but so far it hasn't happened.

pretty do you have any idea what week you are?

10+1

Ninunina · 09/09/2013 06:07

I must say that I love the life in Malta. Bringing up children here is so great. You have plenty of outdoor time thanks to the amazing weather and it's incredibly safe. For the first time I'm actually sick of summer though. It's very humid and sticky at the moment and it's making my morning sickness much worse so I can't wait for the temperature to drop at least to 26 degrees.

Fairypants · 09/09/2013 07:06

Morning,
Sorry you're feeling so rubbish bloomin and ninu.
I'm feeling a bit worried about the scan too. I've been trying my Doppler every day hoping it will pick something up but it is only supposed to work from 9 weeks.
I've been having a pregnant weekend Grin I had a chat with DH on sat am about all the recommendations for minimising SPD probs and found him rearranging kitchen cupboards to make it easier for me. He then took me shopping and we chose a pregnancy pillow and tried support bands (but I didn't find one I like) and obviously had to play with the pushchairs. I even picked up my bounty packGrin
Then I spent Sunday trying on ugly non-wired bras. Dd1 said she needs some too so I told her I'm not getting her pretty ones if I have to have ugly bras-apparently she doesn't need ugly bras Wink
9 weeks today, dc3, from the West Country.

prettyinpink90 · 09/09/2013 07:16

Morning ladies!

thedemented I think I'm around 8 weeks. Just looking forward to my scan on Sunday so I can find out my exact dates.

learnasyougo · 09/09/2013 07:34

scan envyEnvy Grin

I've come off lightly with the nausea this time around. I feel queasy much of the day but have only thrown up a few times. and even the queasiness is mild compared to what I know it can be like.

With my first pregnancy I was vomming up to 10x a day. Not fun at work! And in secret. feeling like I want to die during meetings.

I drank a lot of water (easier to bring up than heaving on empty). Avoided curry (still hot on the return flight) and ice cream is ok to bring up (easy and makes the vomit less acidic). I figured milk or ice cream was easy if it came up and if it actually stayed down, had some calories in it. I lost 4kg from ms, though.

It got better at 9w, then returned with a vengeance at 10w, but was over by 11, so hang in there. Thanks

cookielove · 09/09/2013 08:31

Hello all

Lying in bed thinking I should get up for work. Why is it Monday already! !

crazycranberry · 09/09/2013 08:39

Morning all!
Gosh this morning sickness lark really does suck! My first pregnancy I was bad for 17weeks! I am only 7+6 so dreading what's to come this time! One small consolation is that I am only working part time this time so being poorly at work is only for 5hours not 8!
My do went and bought me some acupressure bands yesterday in the vein hope they would help, but alas, they don't seem to be making a difference Sad
I am still unsure as to whether its the folic acid tablet I am taking that is making it worse. I am taking Vitabiotics Pregnacare original. Is anyone else taking this and do you think it has affected your ms symptoms. I missed taking a tablet on sat night and Sunday the nausea wasn't as horrendous. I took my tablet last night and I was up most of the night with waves if nausea and so now am exhausted from NO sleep!
Maybe it's a coincidence but it makes me wonder.
What supplements are you girls taking during pregnancy?

catameringue · 09/09/2013 08:40

These meds I'm on are the most basic but they've so far stopped the vomming. Had a couple of close calls in food shops though.

I collected the first bounty pack from gp surgery and it had all the blank midwifery notes and forms in. Do I fill these in before booking appointment?

When do I have to choose where I want to go to get this thing out?

crazycranberry · 09/09/2013 08:49

catameringue sorry to here you had to have meds to stop vomming! Poor you. Hope the meds keep helping.
I need to collect my bounty pack but my 10yr old is normally with me if I go into town so having to wait for a chance when I am on my own as we are not telling him about pregnancy just yet.
I chose the hospital to have baby when I saw my midwife at 6weeks. I have booking appt on 18th sept. I would do some research ASAP on the hospital and let the midwife know so she can put things in place for you. Trouble is, all NHS hospitals/areas work differently. All my scans & bloods etc would have to be done elsewhere if I hadn't chosen the hospital I did. It's a nightmare. Do you have a preference on hospitals?

ChocChaffinch · 09/09/2013 09:06

I just take folic acid, after a meal, and the hospital gave me thiamine to take unsure why as they didn't with dc2.

there's no way I could take my pregnacare, theyre massive. will take them after the birth for a pickmeup when Im not vomming

the iron in them can upset your stomach, always take them on top of food

SuzyP36 · 09/09/2013 09:11

Hi guys I'm new here and due 4th April :) I'm 10 + 4. Hoping everyone can put my mind at rest.
I've never really been sick or had any other symptoms so much so that I did another pregnancy test last week cos I'd convinced myself that something horrible had happened.
Got my scan next week and I'm petrified that its not going to go well :(
