Hi girls thought as that thread it quite full we could start a new one here.
Hope you don't mind pink.
How you girls all feeling today? I swear I keep forgetting I'm pregnant when symptoms disappear randomly. But I'm at such early stages, one of the babies of the bunch at just 5+2

OP posts:

Trinpy · 29/08/2013 23:29

just seen theres a may 2014 thread up! we're obviously all old hands at this pregnancy thing now Grin .

Welcome to the new people and congratulations.

PainAuxRaisin your scan is on the same day as mine.Glad I know someone else is going through the same thing. I'm so worried about it! what time is yours? mines at 9.30 so at least it's over and done with early.

Ninunina · 30/08/2013 05:07

Very strange! I'm lying in bed after being woken up by a naughty mosquitos nibbling at my toes and all I can think about is tuna sandwiches Shock I was the same at 11pm before bed. I never had cravings with DD (except that I wanted to add chili onto everything).
For those drinking diet coke. ..I have no idea if it's true, but I read that a study was done recently that found some links between autism and aspartame taken during pregnancy. I've always tried to avoid artificial sweetners but this article makes me check ingredients even more since aspartame does seem to pop up everywhere. Perhaps normal softdrinks will be better (or my personal favourite. .. sparkling water with a splash of cranberry juice and a dash of lime).

Fairypants · 30/08/2013 07:13

Morning all.
Pink- I bought the angel sounds Doppler. It says it works from 9 weeks and lots of positive reviews agree so its worth a go.
I agreed DH could tell someone about the pg as he needs to step down from a voluntary position he was supposed to do next year. An email went out to the entire committee on wed to congratulate us Blush
DH didn't see the email til yesterday so there are probably at least 50 people who know by now as they would definitely have passed it on. And we're going to see them on Sunday.
Eek!
7+4

catameringue · 30/08/2013 08:30

Just woken up - thank goodness for this non wired bra I bought. Wearing it to bed stopped the sore boobs from bashing each other!

I'm having 2 instant coffees a day until I no longer fancy them. From what I've read some caffeine is ok. I didn't consider aspartame so will change my squash.

How's everyone today?

Tea1Sugar · 30/08/2013 08:34

Woah I've got Jordan boobs this morning!! Well not quite but I was only a 32b before and now I definitely have boobs GrinGrin

mamapants · 30/08/2013 08:49

Yes pretty its pretty frustrating about not knowing the dates. I keep reading the week by week development things and trying not to get ahead of myself but am reading ahead because I could be eight weeks.
Ha ha tea enjoy the boobs now you'll be sick of them soon! I have so many bras now. From 32b pre pregnancy, 34d mid pregnancy, 36e post pregnancy and now 32d as still breastfeeding.

Vikkijayne2507 · 30/08/2013 08:56

well my boobs are a bit sore but all my symptoms are slowing down. ive heard this is normal as I am almost 9 wks but it does worry me

Goldenhandshake · 30/08/2013 09:23

Morning all, I ahve my booking in appt Monday, hopefully they wil give me my scan date then.

I am so sick of throwing up stomach acid and blood in the mornings, my throat is red raw Sad

9+3

Trinpy · 30/08/2013 09:27

fairy I have that Doppler. Have been using it twice a week from early on because I've read a few reviews from women who've picked up the hb from 7ish weeks. Nothing yet but I'm only 8+3!

Do your boobs just keep growing constantly during pregnancy or in stages? I've gone up two sizes and my new bras are so comfortable, but I only bought two because I didn't want to waste my money if I'm going to grow anymore. Wondering whether to buy 2 more in the next size up just in case.

prettyinpink90 · 30/08/2013 09:54

Morning ladies!

golden you poor thing, you sound like you're really suffering! Have you seen your GP? Hope you're booking appointment goes ok and you get your scan date!

I woke up about 3am this morning with bad cramps and needing a wee. Once I got in bed they seemed to pass within a few minutes but they were really quite uncomfortable.

cookielove · 30/08/2013 12:30

Helllo all. I have my booking in on Monday at 3pm and I've been asked to take a child home from nursery at 6 ish. I don't think I'll be out in time what do you think?

Fairypants · 30/08/2013 14:30

Mine only took 1hr 15mins so you should be ok cookie.

catameringue · 30/08/2013 17:57

I'm getting some low down cramps when I'm sat in a chair for a while that disappear when I lie down.

How am I meant to know what is normal and what isn't?

BindiBarbarella · 30/08/2013 18:26

Hi everyone!

Hope those of you suffering with sickness etc are having an easier day. I think I'm almost 7 weeks but that's just my calculations. Bit of a surprise, but a nice surprise all the same! I'm 27 and just married.

Been luck with symptoms at the moment, feel nauseous but haven't been sick. Just feel extraordinarily tired!

prettyinpink90 · 30/08/2013 19:46

cat cramps are completely normal during early pregnancy, its just your body stretching to make room for your bsby. Unless they are causing you severe pain or they are accompanied by bleeding there is no reason to worry.

bindi congratulations! I think we are around the same stage, although I can't be sure on my dates either. Also really really tired!

BindiBarbarella · 30/08/2013 20:42

pretty when do you have your midwife appointment or have you already had it? Congrats to you too!!

ChocChaffinch · 30/08/2013 21:06

still lots of new bfp-ers! congratulations to one and all.

feel utterly shite, had 2 rotten days of vomming everywhere so am going cold turkey off my maxalon just to see if it gets the same or any worse.
Just had a spendathon on mothercare website - got mat bras as my bras are all a bit sore now, plus some jeans in the sale and a shiny support pillow! anything to get a bit of comfort.

9+1 will be dc3

ChocChaffinch · 30/08/2013 21:09

I do get odd bits and bobs of cramps, when I stand up after sitting.

got my scan on 18th sep, already worried about the full bladder thing, I found it utterly tortuous to hold in from weeing, esp when my other hosp ran so overtime on scans.

advice please - how do you control your pee? what do you drink? my hyperemesis means I can't drink much anyhow.

regards work I am going in, I work p/t, and I tell myself if Im utterly useless and devoid of energy I will just come home again. as long as you have a little try, it can take your mind off the utter horror of vomiting, I have my own bucket at work. so gross, yet necessary.

PainAuxRaisins · 30/08/2013 21:13

Trinpy my scan is at 8.40am - quite relieved as my booking appt was 9.45 and I didn't get away til almost 12!! (Not seeing a midwife all of that time - the 1st hour was waiting then half an hour booking in with midwife, then a half hour wait to get bloods done and final queuing at reception to get follow-up appointment/scan booked in). So Cookie I think 3 hours should just about be ok but don't be surprised if you're in there for over 2 hours! I'm hoping the earlier you get in there, the fewer delays. Not overly looking forward to holding half a litre of water in (what feels like) a thimble sized bladder on the scan day but can't wait to see what's in there!

BindiBarbarella · 30/08/2013 21:16

Gosh you poor ladies and your vomming :( Feeling sick is bad enough but being sick is really crappy. The main thing I'm pleased about with not being sick is it's easier to hide at work. I've only been in my new job since mid July and I'm really terrified they are going to fail my probation period. Have any of you told your employers yet?

prettyinpink90 · 30/08/2013 21:34

bindi my booking in appointment is on the 20th September so a few weeks off yet. Have you had your appointment date through yet?

choc really feel for you, it sounds like your having a dreadful time with the sickness! is there nothing else your GP can prescribe you?

BindiBarbarella · 30/08/2013 21:44

pretty mine is 18th Sep, close to yours! Is your partner/husband etc going with you? Mine wants to come but I don't know if that's normal!?

mamapants · 30/08/2013 23:31

My DP was with me for my booking in. He would come to my MW appt if he wasn't at work.
They do ask family history questions so might be good idea for him to be there anyway.
Although to be honest my booking in appt was very boring!!
Although am looking forward to it this time again, just want something to make it feel real.

Fairypants · 31/08/2013 06:55

My DH came to this booking in but didn't in previous pregnancies. I think it varies.

EverthingcrossedforApril14 · 31/08/2013 08:37

Morning everyone.
Welcome to the new people. I had my booking in appointment and scan yesterday. It took about 2 hours. They took a comprehensive family history and pregnancy history. They took bloods and then did a scan. I got to see my bean, it was amazing, even though it is my third I still find it amazing! It took the Consultant ages to find the HB, I was starting to panic a little. I am measuring bang on dates 8 +3.

We decided to tell my mum and PIL, sort of a muted response from both but then again that is probably because it is number three!

Hope you ladies are all well, coping with sickness and tolerating the long 12 week wait
8 +3
