Hi girls thought as that thread it quite full we could start a new one here.
Hope you don't mind pink.
How you girls all feeling today? I swear I keep forgetting I'm pregnant when symptoms disappear randomly. But I'm at such early stages, one of the babies of the bunch at just 5+2

cookielove · 25/08/2013 16:32

Natanotherone I've never flown with children as this will be my first but we are flying two months after due date out ro America!

Trinpy · 25/08/2013 18:57

Nat we're hoping to go on holiday next year with the baby when he or she will be about 4 or 5 months. The plane journey will also be about 3hrs. I hope it will be easier to travel with a small baby than with a toddler because they might be more likely to sleep!

I know I'm being silly but my preg symptoms disappeared again so I did another test. The test line was so much fainter than 1.5 weeks ago. Managed to convince myself it was all over before googling and finding out that after 7 weeks the hcg levels get too high for the test to measure. Tested again after drinking loads of water and line was dark again Smile .

Goldenhandshake · 25/08/2013 19:14

nat I've travelled with DD since she was an infant to be honest I found that easier than with a toddler lol we are planning to go to greece or majorca when this bean is around 4 months old as well. For flights just either try to time with a feed/bottle for take off because of ears popping x

Goldenhandshake · 25/08/2013 19:16

Oh also I was in egypt in july with friends who had a 9 month old she was good as gold even in 40 degree heat, just ensured she was in the shade and had plenty of fluids

ChocChaffinch · 25/08/2013 19:55

bleurgh feel gross. everything leaves such a crappy taste in my mouth. maxalon keeping the food down, though,

WaspsAnkles · 25/08/2013 21:08

nat travelled with the ds when he was 6months. Like others said, in many ways easier than with a toddler but it's good to have lots of hands as we had sooo much equipment.

Not been sick today - Yay.

Has anybody else been having really vivid dreams? It's almost a if my dreams are trying to make up for the lack of interesting things while I can't do much during the day.

prettyinpink90 · 25/08/2013 21:34

wasp I'm also having really vivid dreams. Their really really strange too!

boldlittlebird · 25/08/2013 21:36

wasps - yes, insane dreams. Really, really vivid and unnecessarily complex. I talk in them too - the night before last I woke myself up doing it! I was sharing a bedroom with a friend, but luckily she's a heavy sleeper Grin

EasyCompadre · 25/08/2013 21:51

Hello all, 5+2 weeks here, due 25th April by my calculations, so here I am to join you all! This is my first, and I feel so normal it's a bit worrying!
Does anyone else self-refer to the midwife? I'm just wondering how long it may be before I hear from her.

Hope everyone is feeling well!

Vikkijayne2507 · 26/08/2013 02:45

8 weeks today it does seem very slow. been exhausted today but did swim 30 lengths and had a nap after before going to a friends. I lied and said I was still recovering from the night beforeBlush

BoobsTooBig · 26/08/2013 05:02

Hey guys,
Sorry I'm not in good spirits I've woken up this morning at 4:00am with the feeling something is wrong very wrong, boobs seem deflated and no longer sensitive and I'm generally quite upset by it all Sad
I am dreading my scan tomorrow late morning as I'm sure now they won't find a little heart beat. Sad the pains have just stopped all together but I don't feel right. I do feel a little sick but I'm not sure that isn't actually my nerves working me up as at least then I would be greatful for that one symptom. Holding my breath for Tuesday morning but feeling low about the outcome I'm expecting.

Try not to worry too much boobs. I've woken up mentaling about vanished symptoms on many a night, but they quickly return. I'm also feeling nervous about my scan on Wednesday though. Hopefully we'll get some reassurance.

runninggirl85 · 26/08/2013 07:07

boobs I hope it all goes ok. It's such a scary time. Symptoms come and go though don't they? Try and stay positive even though i know it's so tough. Is your scan Tuesday?

I haven't been checking this page because of the Facebook group so I'm a bit behind!

Survived my work weekend away. Back at home now and relieved. Thinking about starting to tell people and also work but I have only been in my job three and a half months. Can they terminate my contract? It's quite a male dominated job so I'm really scared. I need to keep working right up till I have the baby! Does anyone have any advice ?

Thanks :-)

runninggirl85 · 26/08/2013 07:07

Oh and I'm 12+3

mamapants · 26/08/2013 07:35

Try not to worry boobs. I think lots of symptoms seem to ease up around now. Try and relax as much as possible before your scan. Do something distracting.
running if you are 12 weeks now are you not due in early march? Or is it too early in the morning for me?

KittyKK · 26/08/2013 07:58

Boobs - thinking of you. Symptom spotting seems to be driving most of us mad, but it does seem to be varying as the weeks pass x

My stressing about no nausea has now been surpassed by a new feeling of seasick/tipsy....grumble grumble Wink

Running - do you have a probation period? If so, I'd try to wait until you pass "with flying colours" before telling work that you're pg. I'm such a cynic about these things, but deal with it day in day out. Legally they aren't able to terminate your employment by reason of pregnancy, but in this environment there are plenty of "legitimate" termination reasons that can be used to end a person's contract. You just need to keep your performance levels up (as much as possible), which would make any discrimination/termination difficult for the company to justify. Good luck Flowers

Tea1Sugar · 26/08/2013 08:30

Boobs - I have no symptoms other than sensitive nipples. No sickness, my boobs haven't grown, nothing. I had a scan at 4+6 to check it wasn't ectopic and I could see a sac and yolk sac so that and a positive hpt has been the only way I've known I'm pregnant. Everyone has different pregnancies. With dd I had no symptoms until about 7 weeks when I started getting sick. I'm sure everything is fine.

5+4

boldlittlebird · 26/08/2013 08:52

Hi compadre, welcome. I'm having my first as well, and though I'm 7+6 I've only just started to get symptoms, really - and they're not very strong. It is weird in those early stages if you're one of those ladies that doesn't get obvious symptoms (or at least doesn't get them straight away) - you can't believe there's actually something in there!

Where I am, there's a general 'community midwife' no you can ring, and book in a chat without going via your GP (though I did go to the doctor's first, and they told the midwife). As far as I understand it it's quite common to self-refer and there's no real need to go to doctor's first unless you want to discuss wider health issues. From being notified it took my midwife about a week to give me a ring and book in a first appt.

Traffic has slowed down a bit here since the facebook page has set up - if you want to, do join! It was set up by cannotbelieveit - if you flick back a few pages and look at her posts there's chat about how to join Smile

boobs, two days before my scan my boobs stopped being sore, didn't feel sick, didn't feel tired. Convinced myself it was all over - then saw a heartbeat on the day! The symptoms come and go Flowers

Cannotbelieveit · 26/08/2013 09:24

Welcome easy!!! I'm 5+2 today and no real symptoms (but then I didn't last time either) X

ThedementedPenguin · 26/08/2013 09:53

Hi everyone. Plenty of newbies.

I'm sick today. Have phoned the old couple I care for in the morning to say I'm not coming and have gone back to bed.

Have my booking in tomorrow so hoping ill feel better by then.

8+2

runninggirl85 · 26/08/2013 09:54

Thanks . I'll wait a little longer then tell them .

Yup I'm due 6th march. Was posting in here all along as I thought I was 6 or 7 weeks. Turned out to be further and had a scan on Friday.

Nessalina · 26/08/2013 10:03

I'm off Facebook at the mo so haven't joined, the app just doesn't work properly on my stupid phone. Need a new one! On the plus side, this thread has slowed down enough that I can actually follow it now! Wink

Trinpy · 26/08/2013 10:42

Hi to easy.

Boobs don't worry, my symptoms come and go all the time. Easy to stress about it, I know, but chances are that everything's fine.

Glad there's someone else not posting on the fb group Ness. I was starting to worry it would just be me on here!
