Squeeee! A teeny tiny squishy baby Grin

Congratulations! I thought legally would be the first!

Smitten1981 · 16/08/2013 14:20

Congratulations Pinklady. Love the name and I hope she's at home with you very soon.

snowgal · 16/08/2013 14:57

Congratulations on the arrival of Josie pinklady, hoping you have her home very soon. Your news has totally freaked me out - I have absolutely nothing ready!!! Flowers

Tarlia · 16/08/2013 15:06

pinklady huge congratulations on the birth of Josie! How are you doing? Have you been discharged or still suffering the effects of eclampsia? Sending you all hugs x

I was sent from my 32 (+6) week check with Dr today to hospital for monitoring - they let me go home, but will call me back in later if bloods arnt clear - which I'm sure they will be as they were until 37 weeks last time.

We best get packing those bags ladies! Every day I think 'ok, today is the day' but I get no further than that :S

GTbaby · 16/08/2013 15:10

What! We have a baby? Off to catch up. (Dismissed idea of having lunch and gets to speed reading instead!)

OrangeBlossom2 · 16/08/2013 15:21

Sorry you don't have an answer today pinkbuttons. How ridiculous that bump is small, weight is medium and head is big. Really it seems they have no idea.

Thanks for reminder to do pelvic floor exercises Ana. I am rubbish at remembering and they make me need a wee so I have to do while near a toilet!

GTbaby · 16/08/2013 15:22

Major speed read! Congrats pink lady x hope all is well (as it can be) and you get to bring her home soon.

But deff what was said up thread... Need to pack my hospital bag ASAP!

Need in day assessment unit. As I'm getting paranoid about itching, so thought its time to check my bile acid level n know for sure if I have OC again. Hopefully will get results later today.
But mW said regardless of results I will prob have to go in twice a week for remainder of pregnancy! For baby monitoring. And to have blood level checked once a week. As you can have the condition and the itching some time before its detectable in blood tests. Brilliant! Lots of time in hospital now Hmm

OrangeBlossom2 · 16/08/2013 15:34

Oh dear Tarlia and GT, hope all is ok with you. Hang in in there, not long to go!

terrifiednewbie · 16/08/2013 15:55

Huge congratulations pinklady- wonderful name and so glad to hear you are all doing well. Fx crossed little Josie won't have to stay in too long at the rate she is going.

For those who are still looking to buy the bravado silk seamless nursings bras- figleaves sell some and they have 15% off with BABY15 code at the moment.

pinkmoonlight · 16/08/2013 16:41

Wow! Our first baby! Congratulations pinklady- beautiful name and glad that you are all doing well Flowers Grin

Packing hospital bag has become my new priority too!

bluesnowfalcon · 16/08/2013 16:43

Checking in and amazin gnews that we have a baby already! Congrats on Josie Flowers

Think I ought to get going on packing that bag and getting nursery sorted if only so I can put stuff away somewhere!

Off to a steam rally in mo and all day morra think I might need Cake to help me get through it! Fished ball out of the back of the cupboard last night and currently sitting on it reading and typing. Much better than sofa on the back :)

Here's hoping that everyone has a good weekend and I'll attempt to catch up on everyone's news when we get home from the rally Grin

thethreeblondies · 16/08/2013 16:56

Grin at us all panicking that we are actually having actual babies! I've just got the moses basket down and am washing all the covers and sheets! I said to DH last week that him and the girls could get me some bits for hospital bag for my birthday at end of sept, he actually said "should u not have it packed by then?" clearly he knows better than me!

roofio87 · 16/08/2013 17:55

haha, just sorting through stuff in baby room and dp asked about the maternity pads. He was horrified to hear about post birth bleeding and how long it can go in for. He has no clue about some things! !

HotSoupDumpling · 16/08/2013 17:56

I've been busy stocking up on hospital bag things... the sudden appearance of Josie has really acted as a kick up the backside for me!

Prisci · 16/08/2013 18:28

Congrats, great news about baby Josie can't believe we have a little one on the thread already.

Also making me panic, as we are not going to be home until the first week of September only to fly off afew days later for DS1 medical check up, thus can't start nesting until mid September, hopefully will not be too tired, everything still has to be done, just ordered changing table etc...which should arrive mid Sept, can't start on the hospital bag either. Compensating by knitting at every opportunity but there so many cute booties a baby can have :)

ananikifo · 16/08/2013 18:43

Whew. What an afternoon! After my mw appt I bought cleaning stuff, went to our new house (across town), set up the fridge and cleaned things and found the shelves for our kitchen cabinets in the yard and cleaned them, went into town and bought snacks and drinks for the people helping us move tomorrow, and found a new GP and got forms, all on foot and public transport. My back is KILLING me. I don't like it when people tell me to take it easy but seriously they're right. At least one of the things I bought today was a gym ball and it feels so good to sit and roll around on it.

But on a positive note, we're moving tomorrow, and my commute will be much shorter, and the midwives in my new area are apparantly very pro-home birth and I'll likely know the midwife at my birth. Smile

Umlauf · 16/08/2013 18:44

Such lovely news pinklady and welcome to the world little Josie! Its a beautiful name, it was on our girls list and I just love it! Tell us all about her!!! Its v scary about the HELPP syndrome and pre eclampsia, as clapham was saying it makes me so glad to live in the time and place we do. I was rewatching series 3 of downton abbey the other day where Sybil has pre eclampsia and it really made me shudder.

34 weeks today though MUST get on with packing my hospital bag when I get home from holiday!

Can't believe we have a real life baby! Are you going to start the first postnatal thread pink ?!!

ComtesseDeFrouFrou · 16/08/2013 18:55

Agree that the name is lovely - it's my grandmothers name. She's known in the family as Hokey Cokey Josie Smile

And yes, I am thinking Oh Shit on the hospital bag front... Grin

Mind you, the way that Sporcamuss has been elbowing my bladder all day, I could cope with the idea of having him or her now. Seriously, it's like he or she has got a biro in there and is waving it around - its been making me wince all day Sad

ComtesseDeFrouFrou · 16/08/2013 18:56

Oh, and Rox do we need to add a birth date column to the spreadsheet?!

GTbaby · 16/08/2013 19:04

Just packed up babies stuff into Bags today.
Tomorrow i will get all my hospital stuff into one place so it's ready to pack when I pick up a wheelie case from my mums. I've already done toiletries and make up Grin

Natalieand · 16/08/2013 19:13

Eek baby Josies arrival has deffo made me panic about my hospital bag but I just don't have the money too go and get all the stuff I need for it ATM, as rediculous as it sounds I just have a need to have everything in the hospital bag new? Lol

Took dd to cinema this afternoon for the first time ever and she did pretty good for a 2.9 year old. Only one wee trip which I didn't think was too bad either!

BowlFullofJelly · 16/08/2013 19:46

Haha, I am also loving the sudden mad panic of everyone realising we are having babies. Im definitley feeling the urge to start taking it easy - ds doesn't seem to agree though.

Pinkforboys · 16/08/2013 19:58

My Mum just reminded me to pack some nipple cream Blush. I'd happily blocked that one from my memory. My online basket at Boots is getting rather full!

Tarlia · 16/08/2013 20:00

Urg, so many painful braxton hicks tonight, not fun!

Haha yep, BFoJ we are all finally waking up to that fact :D

GT sorry you are having a pants time. How's your SPD doing? No worse I hope! Goodness, I thought weekly monitoring was bad enough! We are lucky as Clapham said to have this care available to us.

Nat perhaps you could pack the things you do have, ie baby stuff and put next to it a pile of the stuff you want new but don't yet have like pjs and then at least it's easy to grab if labour comes before shopping?

Bronzemoth · 16/08/2013 20:07

Wow congratulations Pinklady and Josie glad everything sounds like everything is going as it well as it can for an early arrival.

I'm another one who is completely underprepared, definitely time to start moving.
