mortified and becca hope you guys are ok.

IceNoSlice · 19/08/2013 19:30

Becca I see where the others are coming from in getting your mind put at rest by getting a scan, but I am guessing that you are off on your hols if you're getting a ferry (unless you're coming home?)

If so, if I were you I'd do my best not to worry until you get back. As others have said brown blood is likely to be the tail end of what you saw a few weeks ago (fresh red would be more of an issue). Also it doesn't sound like there is a lot of it? So try to have a lovely hol and not to worry.

Thanks to those who said nice things about DS's first day at nursery. It seems to have gone quite well- he ate most of his lunch, had two short sleeps and doesn't seem to have spent the day sobbing! And he gave me a really lovely cuddle when I got home Smile

IceNoSlice · 19/08/2013 19:31

Mortified all the best to you too, Flowers

lumpylumps · 19/08/2013 19:38

I love name talk. Girls for us at the minute are lottie, Connie or kitty. I like Jackson for a boy but dh doesn't. Liking teddy too but I know he won't go for that!!

mortified fingers, arms, legs and toes crossed that it's nothing.

Dabarai · 19/08/2013 19:40

Goodness me, you go out for half of a day and already hard to follow!!

Mort - things crossed for tomorrow, and definitelly have this takeaway.

Becca - sorry, don't remember, did you have a scan yet~/ I would go and try to have one at EPU to put your mind at rest...

Pram &Lyra - hang on there, you lovely ladies. Virtual hugs.

Owlina - I have my scan tomorrow as well - very excited, trying to be positive, but can;t help being nervous and edgy. God knows how I am going to survive half a day at work!!

Baby names - we have a name for a girl sorted - Amalia, after mam gran. Slightly more unusual and we both like it. Not sure about a boy, want to find something that sound good in both English and Polish, but I don't like any of the names that can fit the criteria... But I like name Oliver, Ollie... So might go with that, if necessary. :)

Also, I am afraid I cannot give too much advice on rock poos, as I am usually having an opposite... (sorry, TMI!) but dried prunes work ever time with me...

April13 · 19/08/2013 19:43

Thinking of you mortified and becca. Hope you get everything sorted tomorrow xx

Dabarai · 19/08/2013 19:46

Also Imeg - great news!

Dabarai · 19/08/2013 19:47

One more thing - my OH just started preparing a playlist for a Tadpole. I expect this to be played to the bump later... Smile

NoMaybeAboutIt · 19/08/2013 19:48

That's great Mort. Always makes it so much easier when you have a good GP. And the takeaway is a must!!

Becca brown is ok. I have dragging feelings too sometimes, and was told it was stretching. It's always good to hear it from the mouth of a professional though, so when you can, give them a call.

Lyra what a shit day you've had. I hope things went as well as they could've.

Dab I too was the other end of the spectrum till the weekend!! Weird. Amalia is beautiful.

Ice so pleased it all went well!!

OwlinaTree · 19/08/2013 19:52

Dabarai will be thinking of you tomorrow then! Fingers crossed!

PramQueen1971 · 19/08/2013 20:17

Ice, I'm sorry, in my self-absorption I missed your child's first day at nursery news. I'm so glad it went well. Is it heartbreaking when they toddle off indoors with the teacher? That cuddle sounds just perfect Smile

Good luck to all scanees tomorrow. I'm crapping it.

RaspberrysAndIcecream · 19/08/2013 20:30

Ice - glad ur little ones first full day went well Smile

MummyPig24 · 19/08/2013 20:37

Dab the girl next door but one is Amalea, her mum is Thai, she's a gorgeous little girl and its a great name too.

Ice I'm glad ds day went well, the first time is always nerve wracking!

Tomorrow morning dd is going to play with a friend so I am taking my big boy out for a milkshake and to the park, I'm excited to spend time alone with him and I think he needs it.

Sarahb8990 · 19/08/2013 20:43

Ice glad your lo had a good day at nursery. I remember doing it with my ds and hated it yet he couldn't wait to run off and play with his friends!

Re names we have a boys name - Jacob (jake) and for a girl it's between Keira and Amelia

Good luck for all the scans coming up

apprenticemamma · 19/08/2013 21:00

Evening allSmile Just been catching up on this v busy thread! Thanks for scan suggestions , I think I'll just level with my lovely boss and see whatshe says. I'm having to be tight assed about annual leave as I took three weeks before realise was upduffed and us poor martians fall at the end of the leave year dammit! Just had another brilliant counselling session with dh. It's going to take time but we are feeling v positive about it all, recommend to anyone. As regards names for puffin, we're going with mildly but not horrendously unpronouncable like you say April Irish or Scottish names to reflect our roots...Currently Aoife for a girl or Darragh for a boy. Only Puffin's sibs and my mum know. Got so sick of everyone's tuppence worth last time so learnt to keep shtum! Im liking a lot of names on here . Good luck scannee s also and for becca and mort too x

MTBMummy · 19/08/2013 21:04

Thinking of you Mort, I'm so glad you GP is takin it seriously.

Becca - even if you're going away you should have your health certificate that will allow you to get a scan.

Re the name, it's a 6th century Saxon name, so we might tweak the spelling a little to modernise it

OP posts:
MortifiedAdams · 19/08/2013 21:17

Apprentice I love the name Aoife and if I had any irish roots, itd be my top name - but Id feel like a theif using it!

Ice glad your LO had a good day.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Chowed down an entire chicken fried rice and curry sauce.

Sadly things no better - back ache, crampinf and lots of stringy blood. I really feel like this is the end of this pregnancy. Im clinging on to a tiny bit of hope but I am realistic and expecting this to progress over the next 24 hours. I have a hot water bottle and am in bed feeling sorry for myself.

91chloejp · 19/08/2013 21:23

Hello everyone

New to this thread, can't believe I didn't even know we had one Blush

Just finished catching up even though this is the 4th thread Shock So I'm due on the 18th March (10 weeks tomorrow wohoo!) but I still need to register with a MW. I know! My doctor wouldn't allow me until I got the all clear and then I had to come down to my mum's in London to see my grandmother who flew in from abroad only for the poor lady to have been hospitalized all this timeSad . I'm so conscious and worried about my dating scan but I'll give them a call tomorrow and make my way back up north.

that's me so far... asides from terrible nausea and debilitating exhaustion plus a lovely DS jumping on my stomach (he never used to before I fell pregnant. My DH seems to think DS knows Confused he's 2)

SoSurprised · 19/08/2013 21:40

Oh Mortified :( hopefully the bean will stay put

justmuddlingthroughit · 19/08/2013 21:56

mtb, I thought that name sounded Anglo-Saxon! It's kind of a shame that there are so few names left from that era, although most of them sound strange to us now. Says she, considering a French name! My dh is half Irish, so I would love to find a lovely Irish name, but a lot of them are either very popular, which we don't really want, or near-unpronounceable! I'm not a big fan of anglicised spellings of Celtic names, either. I do love the name Caoimhe (keeva), but it doesn't go with our surname, which is single syllable with an 'ee' sound.

mort, I'm so sorry for what you're going through. I really hope it isn't the end, and am thinking of you and your dp.

Welcome to the thread 91! We appear to be an insanely chatty bunch, so don't feel you have to keep up with all the posts, I sure as hell can't...

NoMaybeAboutIt · 19/08/2013 21:58

Mort I'm keeping everything crossed that things are going to be just fine. Hope things settle over night x

Welcome Chloe! What did you have to get the all clear from? Sorry to head about your gran

Teddybear4 · 19/08/2013 22:02

Gosh, such a busy few days on the thread. Been busy packing for hols so not much time to check in.

Mortified - I have everything firmly crossed that all will be well. Your doctor sounds excellent - you're in good hands I think.

Lyra and Pram - your doing brilliantly to cope with such personal upheaval while also being in the first tri - I'd have crawled under the nearest rock.

Ice - Am sure your DS loved nursery. My son was always desperate to go to nursery with his buddies and I felt almost guilty for bring a SAHM!

Another one with a scan tomorrow. I'm quite nervous as have been pretty symptomless the last week or so. Saw heartbeat at 8 weeks but spent too much time since reading negative stories - Google not my friend...

Loving the name choices - Teddy and Rory stand out. I love Louis - DH doesn't and every time I mention it he says "My names Louis Walsh" in a ridiculous accent so I think it's out. His only suggestion is his own name... I have boy vibes. Would be easier to agree in a girl's name though. Love Elizabeth or Eliza.

Good luck with all the scans tomorrow.

Jolleigh · 19/08/2013 22:02

Hi everyone.

Finally managed to make my way here after the endless amusement that is AIBU.

I'm 10+3 today and due on March 14th but think that will be readjusted after my dating scan.

This evening has been sucky. OH is away with work and as I can't currently stand cooking smells, I ordered my much craved for pizza. Which I promptly chucked up. So I'm now sat cuddling our smelly dog Baldrick, which is weirdly one of the few smells I enjoy Blush Feeling a touch sorry for myself.

Another quite literal pain in the arse...I've pulled an arse muscle and am subsequently walking like John Wayne.

commsgirl · 19/08/2013 22:06

Mort absolutely everything crossed for you. You too Becca Flowers

Chloe welcome! I'm due on the 18th too :).

Apprentice I love Aofie. Wish I was Irish!

Dab Amalia is beautiful.

Good luck to everyone with a scan tomorrow!

PramQueen1971 · 19/08/2013 22:16

*Mort, am really hoping for the best for you. Hold on tight x

Apprentice, forgive me but do you pronounce it 'Waif'? Like the characters out of Annie?

Welcome, Chloe and Jolleigh. You'll like it here. We all read the Daily Mail and are calling our kids things like Eric and Hweifoigh (that's Welsh for toe-jam). Some of us are about to go to prison for domestic homicide but you'll fit right in as long as you don't have a thigh gap or look like Gisele Bundchen.
