Just Shagging Grads, here is your shiny new Fred!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The last thread saw plenty of births and we've got loads of new Grads to add to the mix. Bring on the TMI posts, the midnight moans, the birthwatches and the pom poms!

Our stats thread is here, so if you find us, please add your stats too.

There is also a Just Mumming thread for grads of the grads thread

And if you want to find out what Just Shagging is about or catch up with the undergrads go say hello to the Just Shaggers here, now on the 17th thread.

Don't freak me out about Fri 13th. I am now starting to imagine something horrific going wrong when she takes my bloods or for her to tell me I'm not in fact pg after all. I have backwards ms too Rpopz. Am ok until about 12pm and then am just crap until bedtime. I don't remember feeling better until after my scan last time.

Can't believe you've managed to hide it for so long Juni. You must be teeny tiny.

JuniDD · 02/06/2014 20:21

I got quite chubby a couple of years ago so a lot of my clothes are very loose. Wink. I also don't think my colleague are particularly interested in me or look at my body very much. My face is so round now! (or I'd like to think a lot rounder, eh?!).

Ooh, I've got really bad stretching pains tonight. Sad. Think I pulled something getting out of bed this morning and it's playing me up again tonight. Texted Mr Juni to say I would not be cleaning the kitchen as I can't bend, he was so worried he phoned me! I'll be filing that piece of information away... Wink

Right you guys, I'm going into the pushchairs section...I feel the need to start looking into how best to spend my mum's money!

DulcetMoans · 02/06/2014 20:37

Curry, yum! Even better cos its chips. Good call popz!

Luckily a good day for me illness-wise! Good job too cos I had a shit work day. I hate working with others!

Sounds like you've not had a good one though wil. I went off food at the beginning, think popz did too?

How did pram shopping go juni? I hear its one of the most complicated decisions in this process!

JuniDD · 02/06/2014 20:43

Ah, sorry about your shit day dulcet.

I just went to the pushchair section on Mumnet...still confused. Everyone round here has Bugaboos but I'm not sure I understand why they're considered to be the best. I like the look of the iCandy too. I want one with a pram but also transforms to a pushchair AND holds a carseat. Unclear if this is moon on a stick territory. Might have to dose Mr Juni up on rum one Saturday and go & play in John Lewis & Mothercare for a day. It will take a lot of rum!

Sorry I'm so chatty tonight, no idea why!

FurryScoob · 02/06/2014 21:00

Be prepared juni I took DP pushchair shopping last week & expected him to be bored stupid but he went in like he was buying a car testing suspension & checking out the wheels, I ended up bored!

HungryHorace · 02/06/2014 21:06

Juni, we had one that did that for DD, a Silvercross Linear Freeway. It's front and parent-facing too. And the pram looks sooooo cosy!

So much food talk tonight!

RPopz · 02/06/2014 21:21

Sorry you had a crap day Dulce hope you've got a nice tea to make up for it!

Yup Wil I lost my appetite big style for first couple of weeks. And now the nausea makes me hate all food! Apart from the occasional food whim e.g. curry Wink

Scoob I FULLY expect my DH to be like that!! He'll be on compare the pushchair dot com or something for months before hand Hmm

wilhelmeaner · 02/06/2014 21:36

We have an icandy apple Juni. Plus points: does all the things you said, can be front or rear-facing, is sturdy and has proper big wheels if you want to go anywhere with more difficult terrain, easy to collapse and put up (once you get the knack), can use maxi-cosy or recaro car seat.
Negatives: It's bloody big and quite heavy. Not sure how I'll get it in and out of the boot when heavily pregnant, if anything breaks or you want extras, it costs a fortune, in fact the whole bloody thing was a fortune (we didn't pay for it, by which I mean someone else did, we didn't steal it!).
Definitely go and play with them all in john lewis or wherever and see which you like. I'm happy with mine - we haven't had to buy a smaller stroller pushchair or anything like loads of people I know have. But I also don't necessarily think I'd buy it again because of the size. It's great in terms of space for toddler but not for me to handle. Fuck, that was a bit long wasn't it - you can all wake up again now!

I have been kept up past my bedtime! I must go now or I'll cry when the alarm goes in the morning.

Sorry you had a shitty day Dulcet, hope tomorrow is better.

JuniDD · 02/06/2014 21:45

Ooh, pushchair chat! Excellent. Thanks for the feedback on the iCandy wil, good to know. Pregnancy has turned me into a complete weakling and I'm likely to drive a lot so heavy probably not so good. My SIL has a Quinny which they use with a maxi-cosi & has a pram. Not sure about stroller style but they have small kids who stay in the carseat for ages. I will look at Quinnys actually!

My DP is a total geek so is giving me his Which? password to do the research...I want to go to the shops though!

The next thing will be stopping me from buying millions of babygros...Ooh, I've also got my reuseable nappy advice from the nappy lady! It's allll go!

JuniDD · 02/06/2014 21:46

Ohh, horace that silver cross looks VAIR NAICE! Wish it came in some more lairy colours though (thought I suppose they show up stains etc)

HungryHorace · 02/06/2014 21:56

Look here: www.silvercrossbaby.com/pram-systems/

Lairy colours ago go!

wilhelmeaner · 02/06/2014 22:31

It's probably not as heavy as an actual pram Juni, but I think for a buggy it is heavy. The other kinds of icandies are smaller and might suit you better (they're prettier too if that bothers you). The people I know who have phil and ted double buggies love them. Do they do single ones too? May be worth a look.

I had notions of doing re-usable nappies but then remembered how lazy I am and that baby would end up with no clean nappies after 3 days.

I feel too sick to sleep Sad.

JuniDD · 03/06/2014 06:32

ooh, horace I think that's the end of my shopping trip! Thank you :) Can't sleep so think I'll have an early start at work - early finish!

Minion · 03/06/2014 06:56

Morning!
Pram talk? I'm in. It won't be an exciting contribution though as we've already reserved ours. Now I want to go pram shopping again.
It was a bit bewildering for me, so I just plumped for a bright, safe, warm looking one.
We got the sola from m&p.
Has anyone seen all the funky babygros in boots ATM? So cool. Ones with dinosaurs, strawberries and flamingoes. My kid ain't wearing no white with all this colour around.

Food is ok for me now but those weeks where it just was a pita were a pita to me.
I didn't even want cake!
Shocked.
Week 9 was alright, it's week 11 that's kicking m arse. I'm borking all the frigging time and am so tired it's unreal, but yep, doesn't hit me till gone lunch.

Has anyone got/had cravings yet?mwhen do they start?

HungryHorace · 03/06/2014 07:33

Yay, Juni! Glad to have potentially helped! :-)

I'm finishing at 4 this week to use all of my flexi time up before completing my secondment on Thursday. That extra hour makes all the difference.

I've never had a craving. Apart from food generally! It's quite disappointing.

And I've bought some of the Boots babygrows, though babies look adorable in simple white ones.

DH was having a game of chase the foot at 6 this morning. So cute! (And a touch uncomfortable.)

DulcetMoans · 03/06/2014 08:48

I had the same question about cravings min! Is it a craving at this stage if you just want to eat chocolate?? I'm onto oranges as well, loving a good orange! And beetroot! But not sure any of it is cravings or just food I like to eat.

Buggy talk already? shocked face I can't even think about that! I know it will take ages to choose though and my DH will probably want to try them out, look them up, shop around. Yawn!

Thanks for the sympathies on my rubbish day. I have now been thinking about it and dwelling on it for 24hrs and I am still angry. I need to vent at someone but I am boss-less. Which will be fun when I need to tell someone I'm pregnant. Oh work is just a big smelly mess! Napping is much preferable.

I need an excuse to 'work from home' Thursday afternoon to go to midwife. Anyone??

wilhelmeaner · 03/06/2014 09:03

Hope the spewing stops Min, that sounds awful. Cravings aren't like they are on tv. You basically notice that you're eating more of something than you normally would. It's more just that you fancy having something than you HAVE to have it. And it's normally normal things, not weird combinations. In my experience anyway.

Minion · 03/06/2014 09:10

Chucking up has ceased thankfully wil, it's just now that awful trying to but can't feeling.
Bleurghhh.
Mmmmmm beetroot.
Haven't had any cravings myself just yet but if my mom is anything to go by I can expect a weird one soon. With me, she had a love of raw Brussel sprouts and custard.
Nice!
I'm hoping for jam doughnuts and waffles.

Great, now I want waffles.

Gals who are ahead of us still in our 1st trimester.. When did you notice your bump? I've had a hard little lump just above knicker line since week 9, getting ever so higher each week.
Yesterday it's properly moved up, so much so now there's a gap between knicker line and bump, small tho, but there.
Is this it? Or am I gaining another tyre due to excessive consumption of potatoes and cheese?

Nessalina · 03/06/2014 09:42

That totally sounds like a bump Min! Mine arrived about week 7, and had been steadily expanding! At first it was just like a too many pies muffin-top, then the bottom of it started firming up, and now it's definitely a bump not flab Grin

Oh my! The stuff-talk has begun! Grin
I think our main criteria is that whatever we buy has to easily fold down to a super small size - we have no space in our house at all Confused Whatever we get is going to have to live in the hall... And we definitely don't have space for a pram AND a pushchair, so a crazy combo machine would be good... That one looks pretty cool Horace, though DH may choke at the price Shock

Sounds like you're going through a tough patch Wil Sad Hope the MS wears off soon! I think MS is AF's evil cousin - both determined to spoil our fun Hmm

Sorry work smells Dulcet. Every time I get mad at work I just have a calm inner voice that says 'screw you all, I am sooo out of here' Grin

No cravings here yet... Although I do want a lot of fruit juice. Water is so boring Confused

I've woken up with a really sore back, it's all twingey around my left kidney Confused I'm hoping it's muscular and I haven't given myself a UTI with all my water avoidance Blush

Nessalina · 03/06/2014 09:43

Phew - I need to catch up more often! Epic post!!

DulcetMoans · 03/06/2014 09:49

And now I want a jam doughnut...
That's a good description of what I think my 'cravings' are wil. I am having more chocolate than I ever have, although trying to stop that now I've noticed it. And I want beetroot with all my meals! Beetroot and jam doughnuts maybe... then its a real TV craving!

I think I see bump when I stare obsessively in the mirror catch myself naked in the mirror but not sure if I am just trying to justify chubbiness. I swear I could suck it all in and look flat though but now I can't.

RPopz · 03/06/2014 09:57

My "cravings" are really just for carbs. Which I guess is just a nausea thing. But still weird as I was never really fussed for crisps and chips etc before.

Same here Dulce! I think I can see a bit of a bump but its probably just bloat - as its bigger on an evening! Wink Pretty sure my belly is bigger though - DH refuses to confirm lol.

Working tonight Sad Sad Sad

RPopz · 03/06/2014 10:10

Got my first congratulations/ mum to be card this morning from DH's granparents Grin Unexpectedly lovely x
