Just Shagging Grads, here is your shiny new Fred!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The last thread saw plenty of births and we've got loads of new Grads to add to the mix. Bring on the TMI posts, the midnight moans, the birthwatches and the pom poms!

Our stats thread is here, so if you find us, please add your stats too.

There is also a Just Mumming thread for grads of the grads thread

And if you want to find out what Just Shagging is about or catch up with the undergrads go say hello to the Just Shaggers here, now on the 17th thread.

I've got to tell you all something. About 3 days ago at work, I was busy (ish) and felt a little tickle in my bump. Kinda like someone was running their finger along for a second, or like a fly feels when it's crawling on your skin.
Only last a moment but happened 3 or 4 times. I thought 'hmmm maybe it's the baby, nah it's too early surely'.
So I asked my mate who had a baby nearly a year ago and she said yep that's what it felt like to me.
Eeeeek, it's so early.
Then nothing for a few days and this morning I was dozing in bed and there was a tiny bubbling feeling, again only a second or so, like a twitch.
After extensive googling it apparently it does feel like it!
I'm amazed. Now I am maybe thinking there may actually be something in there....

FurryScoob · 03/06/2014 16:45

Sounds like baby movements minion I felt like my insides were being stroked at 13 weeks. I've never felt the butterfly feelings other people describe just a soft stroking feeling.

Anyone had scans today?

Nessalina · 03/06/2014 17:23

Ooh that's cool Min! I think I need to be more in touch with my bump... Mostly it hurts a bit every now and again, I need to zone in to the positive sensations! Smile
Just been for midwife appt and heard baby's heart beat again! Sounds good! Grin

zenry · 03/06/2014 17:41

Ive been feeling wiggles/slight poking since 10 weeks. Love it!

HungryHorace · 03/06/2014 18:16

I felt DD from 11 weeks. This one took longer thanks to an anterior placenta, maybe about 14-16 weeks (poor neglected second born means I can't remember exactly!).

Minion · 03/06/2014 19:23

Oh and two fingers up to the 'experts' who claim you don't need to wee more as you come into the second tri!
I've been peeing non stop, literally every two hours. It's infuriating.
Maybe I have a slight uti, who knows, but since yesterday morning it's like bastard clockwork.
I assume this is my 'welcome to each trimester minion, symptom'

RPopz · 03/06/2014 19:36

Haha are you 12+ now!? Eeee! I've had a resurgence on weeing today as well... most annoying. And now a 12 hour night shift. Oh the joys.

wilhelmeaner · 03/06/2014 19:41

Aw it's all so lovely with your bumps and wriggles. I def don't have a bump yet although it would be harder to notice this time as I'm a bit of a fatty compared with first time. My boobs are massive though.

God I feel so sick. I'm pretty much just going to say that every day seeing as I can't tell anyone in real life. So, lucky you guys!

zenry · 03/06/2014 19:59

No bump here ( 14+2) just very sore boobs

JuniDD · 03/06/2014 21:02

I started finding my trousers/skirts uncomfortable from 7 weeks.
I told a few people at work today and they were all really shocked. So of course, now I'm worried the baby is too small! We'll find out tomorrow...Reminds me to book the taxi to the hospital. Wish me luck!

Nessalina · 03/06/2014 23:18

Good luck Juni! Grin I'm finding that's what most people say when confronted with a bump - either 'ooh, you don't look x-weeks, aren't you carrying well?!' or 'gosh, you're only x-weeks, are you sure it's not twins?!' Hmm
I had my first inappropriate bump touching today Shock From my odd neighbour, not too much of a surprise that it was her tbh. I managed to resist slapping her hand away!! She followed it up with a 'I can babysit any time!!'. Over my dead body!!

RPopz · 04/06/2014 07:31

My cycle tracking app has kindly informed me that my period is 32 days overdue today and perhaps I might be up the duff?? LOL Grin Thanks for that...

JuniDD · 04/06/2014 12:40

hello, long rant ahead warning! All ok with the baby (I think!) but my god, what a frigging nightmare that was.

We live the other side of the city to the hospital and the appointment was half nine, during rush hour. So we got a taxi for an hour beforehand. We got there at 9am, checked in. And waited for half past. Remember the full bladder requirement? Yeah, I was uncomfortable by 9.15. Half nine came and the waiting room was completely empty, we assumed we'd be next. Nope. Loads of people turn up, get seen, and we're still waiting. 9:45 my partner goes and asks as my bladder was so full I could barely move. Someone will be with us "shortly". 9:55 I had to go and let out some wee as it was really really hurting. Hadn't been called when I got back so I thought, sod this, let's just go and rebook for another time. 10:00 I went to queue up to speak to the receptionist, who had finally realised we'd been there an hour and went to get someone to scan me.

She said "someone will be with you right now". Someone came and got us, laid me down and...wasn't the sonographer! She left the room promising the sonographer would be right with us. Five more minutes, same woman returns (!) apologising and giving us a refund for the scan photos token (you have to pay £5 for the 20 week scan photos). Finally, at 10:10 the woman comes in. My stomach was hurting so much I couldn't straighten my legs so she let me go to the toilet. I got quite upset at this point as it was all "oh, sorry BUT reception are so busy, blah blah blah, these things happen, blah blah blah. I could've scanned you at 9!" and I wasn't really up for hearing it. So I went to the loo and had a little cry. When I went back in she's all "what's wrong?" and I was like, nothing, let's just got on with it. She was really funny with me after that, like I'd been a nuisance. Bloody hell, I hadn't shouted, ranted or made a fuss like plenty of people would! It felt really unspecial, she didn't ask if we wanted to know the sex (which we didn't, but just shows how little she cared!). Ten minutes it took and we were in the hospital for 1 hour and three quarters! It's our anniversary today and it just hasn't felt nice at all.

Quite tempted to book a private scan to make sure it's all checked properly as I'm not convinced it has been done ok. Sad. I did go for a big shop after and bought some clothes, books and a soft toy.

The moral of the tale is...wish I hadn't bother following instructions on the bladder as that's what made it all so awful. GRRRR.

RPopz · 04/06/2014 13:05

Oh Juni poor you. That's what really bloody annoys me about the full bladder thing! You never bloody know when your actual appointment will be!! I went for a bladder scan a few years ago, dutifully drank a tonne of water an hour before my appointment time.... was left hanging around for a further hour after that!! I was actually in tears in the scan room, it was horrendous. I won't be making the same mistake for my scans!

Really sorry its spoiled your anniversary especially when it should've been such a lovely day. Have you got something nice planned for later?

Happy anniversary anyway, hope the retail therapy helped a little xx Thanks xx

JuniDD · 04/06/2014 13:37

Thanks rpopz, feeling a bit sad and fragile now. And she got bloody blue gel all over my brand new white maternity vest. GRRRRR. I'm feeling a bit unreasonable to be so sad but I was excited for the first time before a scan (usually terrified) and it all feels a bit ruined. I think it's the last scheduled standard scan so it would've been nice if it felt a tiny bit special.

We're both really tired, maybe we'll go out for breakfast tomorrow. Thanks love xx

JuniDD · 04/06/2014 13:38

And sorry about your bladder thing, but glad you understand how horrible it is. So awful to be in pain from needing the loo and they don't even care!

zenry · 04/06/2014 13:57

Oh juni what a special experiance ruined! I would really recommend booking a private scan because an anomoly scan should not be done in ten minutes. I sometimes think staff without children do not realise what a special and exciting time this and how our expectations can be easily ruined.
If you do book a private scan I can gaurentee it will be a very special experiance

zenry · 04/06/2014 13:58

If it helps at all I got a better scan with an empty bladder

Minion · 04/06/2014 18:21

Oh juni, what a Trollop for putting you and your bladder through that.
You and your husband were very restrained, more than she deserved. Mine would have gone loco a lot sooner.
I'm impressed!
Def book a private scan, make a day of it, breakfast out, little bit of retail therapy, scan and cinema.
Erase that horrible appointment.
Repeat after me 'I'm gonna wash that wench right outta my hair' xxx

DulcetMoans · 04/06/2014 18:58

What a shit juni! It's not like its the first time they've done it though, surely?! Why don't they know how queuing works, how uncomfortable you'd be and how emotional it is anyway without all of that. Silly bitch! Sounds like a private scan might help you feel better about it though, I like mins idea if making a day of it. Anything that includes a meal out gets my thumbs up anyway!

RPopz · 04/06/2014 19:23

Me and DH had an EPIC meal out yesterday for his birthday.... its epicness surpassed even morning sickness!

In other news, I just opened a tin of corned beef in the proper way with the turny key thing without it breaking off or me lacerating anything! I feel this makes me a real grown up now Grin Don't any of you be hating on corned beef now either cos I luuurves it Smile

RPopz · 04/06/2014 19:24

And Juni you would definitely have thought the wench would have more sympathy! Its not as though pregnant women are reknowned for their bladder holding ability is it!!? Hmm

JuniDD · 04/06/2014 19:39

Ah, thanks viroids, you're all loverly Flowers. Smile

Another thing she did was say "hmm, I want the baby to turn over" so then briefly pummelled my stomach with the scanner! If I'd had a full bladder at that point it would've been a flood situation. No chance to even brace. Grrr. Bah, feeling a bit disillusioned with the hospital today!

Anyway, smiles on. minion that's great idea for making a nice day of it, that's exactly what we'll do. I've got millions of questions to ask - apparently they measure the abdominal circumference - why do they do that? I don't know, didn't even know it was going on! - and I'd like some decent photos.

I also bought some v posh shampoo on the baby clothes mission (the stuff I bought was all for mini-juni btw!) so I will definitely be washing this out of my hair.

xx

wilhelmeaner · 04/06/2014 20:33

Juni that is really crap. If you can afford it, I would also second getting another scan done as I think you'd really appreciate having the experience of getting it done properly. I haven't got the best memory but I do remember the sonographer explaining to me what she was doing and why. If you can be arsed, maybe you should also complain about it? Also agree with Ness about people's bump comments. They just feel compelled to say something and you will get told by some people you're big and by others you're small. Everyone carries differently, I am sure your little bump is perfect.

What did you eat RPopz? Make me jealous.

RPopz · 04/06/2014 21:21

I'd definitely complain too Juni especially if you think she didn't examine you and baby properly.

It was an American Diner thing Wil - DH's been nagging to go for ages. We had epic burgers and chips and onion rings Grin And New York style cheesecake for afters. Its weird but when I actually feel like eating I seem to have this enormous capacity for food now that I never had before I was preg!

Corned beef hash tonight. Grin
