Just Shagging Grads, here is your shiny new Fred!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The last thread saw plenty of births and we've got loads of new Grads to add to the mix. Bring on the TMI posts, the midnight moans, the birthwatches and the pom poms!

Our stats thread is here, so if you find us, please add your stats too.

There is also a Just Mumming thread for grads of the grads thread

And if you want to find out what Just Shagging is about or catch up with the undergrads go say hello to the Just Shaggers here, now on the 17th thread.

Crazy lady!! Wink

Oh the weather outside is delightful,
And the thought of snow is frightful,
It's a beautiful sunny day,
Go out to play, out to play, out to play!

Wink
Nessalina · 17/05/2014 08:22

Damn. It's in my head too now!!

DulcetMoans · 17/05/2014 08:41

I'm full thumbs up to the early rising! And the song bullshit - Thursday morning I woke up with 'hillbilly rock, hillbilly roll' in my brain and it would not fuck off!!

Oh no, there it goes again...

RPopz · 17/05/2014 14:01

I like your version better Ness Wink

JuniDD · 17/05/2014 15:25

I woke up with "Bridge over troubled water" in my head.

Weirdly, my DH was singing 'let it snow' yesterday!

Just had my mum round talking to the bump...also known as "her baby". Yep it's getting weird.

Minion · 17/05/2014 16:25

Oh god.
Ear worms, I can't bare them. The worse ones are when you are just trying to drop off and can't, until you finish the bloody song till the end, but you can't cause you just know that one fricking line...
Over
And over
And over
Again
Arghhh

I was a bit naughty this morning kids. I've been having less nausea and cue panicking so I poas'd.
Phew, it's still there. I just hope it means the placenta is taking over more now.
Any ideas!?

DulcetMoans · 17/05/2014 16:50

Sometimes it turns out I know even less than that to a song min. I'll happily sing my lyrics out loud and DH will snigger or full on laugh because it turns out I have had it wrong for years and years. Mine are usually better though, of course!

No real ideas why you might not be feeling sick other than it isn't always constant and does just come and go I think.

About to go to a BBQ - great weather for it but obviously first social occasion where I am at risk of being discovered. Keep it discreet!

RPopz · 17/05/2014 17:00

Is it because you have given it to me Min? Because really, you are welcome to have it back!!

Seriously though, my book says not to worry if symptoms come and go/ change. And apparently having ginger in your diet regularly can improve nausea... so could be the gin gins Wink Maybe you're just getting used to the hormones?

Take your own drinks Dulce? Or do the discrete glass swap with Mr Dulce? (warning: he may get hammered as a consequence) Grin

JuniDD · 17/05/2014 17:15

minion are you coming up to nine weeks? There's an alleged taking over by the placenta then, I felt better for a day or two, then shit again. Think my appetite picked up a bit from nine weeks. Enjoy it! x

Minion · 17/05/2014 18:00

Yip yip juni, I'm 10 weeks on weds so I'm hoping that was it.
The acid reflux is starting though, I get it anyway so am very prepared for that deep joy!
popz sorry kid! but it's all yours! I've had me fair share. Pass her onto dulcet when you're done though! she may have more tolerance.
dulcet, make a really funny joke then over gesticulate when you laugh and chuck drink over shoulder! or get DH to get your drink every time, g and t without the g... It's quite tricky thom I agree x

JuniDD · 17/05/2014 22:09

Ah yes, minion, that'll be it then. Sorry it freaked you out so much!
I felt a bit better from 9 weeks, a bit better at 15 weeks then a bit of a dip and I've felt better again since 17 weeks. It also helped to figure out that, for me, lying around in bed doesn't help at all and keeping moving takes my mind off how I feel physically. Which is a shame as I like lying around in bed. Oh yes, very importantly, eating as soon as I wake up - no lie ins here!

Hope your bbq went ok dulcet & sorry about the sicks rpopz.

DulcetMoans · 17/05/2014 23:26

Its ok viroids, I pulled the driving card. I have two this month though so your tactics will be used! The harder thing about the BBQ was the food. Didn't have any chicken, just in case. Did have a sausage but regret it now and got confused about hallumi - can I get hallumi?!

I wouldn't mind a slight pass of the sickness, but just as reassurance. I would like it minor, at a time convenient to me. Deal?

Minion · 18/05/2014 06:07

Think halloumi is ok. The bastard is so hard it doesn't even melt when you chuck it on a burger on the BBQ.
When I lived in Cyprus it was the cheese du jour, virtually fucking indestructible.
It's like the cockroach of dairy.

DulcetMoans · 18/05/2014 07:09

Haha. not a fan min? I've only ever had it once so I didn't really know what if was made of. Internet said it was safe if pasteurised but I couldn't exactly ask so I just turned it down. I met an indestructible marshmallow too - I caught it on fire!

Up early again but this time paranoid - where are my symptoms?! What's this baby doing in there?! I don't think I would be able to wait for 12 weeks for a scan. I'd have booked one if thy hadn't offered! Today I have le panic.

Minion · 18/05/2014 07:25

Ahhh le panic, I know it well.

DulcetMoans · 18/05/2014 07:32

I can see its likely to be an ongoing pregnancy theme...

min - is there any reason I can't get on a plane to USA at three months? Don't want work to take trip off me!

Minion · 18/05/2014 08:05

Nope you're fine. It's more for me as I would be flying non stop and all that heavy pushing and excess radiation, not good.
I would, however, call the airline to tell them, then at least the crew will be aware should you need anything.
Make sure you drink double the amount of fluids than normal, yes it's a pain in the rear getting up to pee that much but you get so dehydrated its untrue.
The food on airlines is very salty too, if take fruit etc in the packets so can just throw away when done with.
Also if you're bloating like me, keep a supply of antacids handy, read the lable asecond I can only take. 7 a day now (grrrrrrrr) and paracetamol as dehydration headaches are a killer.
If you feel you may need flight socks, get them measured from gp, don't just buy them from boots.
And wear them before the flight. Its amazing how many people put them on after take off when swelling has already started.
You going anywhere nice?

DulcetMoans · 18/05/2014 08:58

Thanks min, that's awesome! I'm going to Tennessee for a conference, really excited! By then I would probably have told work but want to try make sure they don't stop me going!

I'm not very well travelled... I get over excited!

DulcetMoans · 18/05/2014 08:59

Minion · 18/05/2014 09:15

Fab! Tennessee will be amazing.
Remember no fresh fruit, veg, meat or dairy products into USA so leave them on the aircraft.
And if you do take medication take the pamphlet with you as they are well strange regarding none us approved medication.
And Def take paracetamol as it's a regulated med there.
But stock up on Tylenol when there. So much better than what we have..

RPopz · 18/05/2014 09:47

Glad the bbq went well Dulce Grin Awesome about the business trip... none of that malarkey working for the nhs Envy lol. My book says flying in first trimester is fine - even though I thought it wasn't for some reason.

Are you at 6 weeks yet Dulce? I've only started with this constant nausea on Thursday... I'm 7 weeks on Monday. So be patient little one, your time will come Wink

JuniDD · 18/05/2014 11:12

morning! I recommend the Babycentre "my pregnancy" app. It's a day by day thing but has loads of answers to questions like can I use hair dye, paint my nails etc. It also doesn't recommend eating spinach as a cure-all like the what to expect app which made me cry a LOT last time.

DH just asked if my outfit is new. I was like "all my clothes are new, doofus!" Grin Grin

DulcetMoans · 18/05/2014 14:17

Thanks min, I had no idea about paracetamol. Or the fruit thing actually! It's a surprise they let me out of the country really. I also have no idea what Tylenol is but is it good enough that I could become a dealer and make my millions?? Wink

I am lucky popz, I know. It's not that usual in education sector either but I work in the international area so my colleagues are around the world most the time. It's rare for me to go hence the excitement!

I am 6 + 2 so if its coming then I'm sure it will be soon. I have felt a bit sicky but the kind you get confused with hunger!

I have that app juni. I have babybump too but that's very American and the daily updates are odd! Skip from miscarriages to naming in the space of a day! Any other recommendations? I will ask my friends what they had but obviously have to tell them first!

Minion · 18/05/2014 14:43

Tylenol... Paracetamol but better! And Tylenol pm... Oh yes!!

RPopz · 18/05/2014 19:28

Oooh apps! I need an app....

Interesting fact: I ate a metric fucktonne of spinach during March/ April - so it seemed to solve my ttc problems even if it doesn't solve pg ones Wink
