Tis such a relief to hear that I am not the only one!! First couple times I let one out OH looked actually shocked.

IceNoSlice · 12/08/2013 11:41

Glad to hear you got the all clear Pram but it's a shame he couldn't explain more to reassure you.

I have a new snack plan today. I have some rice crackers to nibble on to help my grazing urges. However I'm not sure they'll satisfy when there is chocolate in the vending machine...

mimili · 12/08/2013 12:41

Currently grazing on ginger biscuits. I hate ginger but am feeling so sick! Colleague at work bring incredibly nosey. And I am getting angry!! Her latest comment 'you might as well admit you are pregnant'

MummyPig24 · 12/08/2013 12:45

MTB I think I might have punched your husband if I were you! Dh knows well enough not to comment on what I am eating haha. When did you tell your dd about the baby? We haven't told our dcs yet.

Hello newbies. Hope everyone is doing good today!

LyraSilvertongue · 12/08/2013 14:21

My firstborn is 11 today Smile
We're going to the London Dungeon and then to Yo! Sushi for dinner.

LyraSilvertongue · 12/08/2013 14:31

Pram, that must have been scary. But reassuring I guess that the doc isn't worried.

traceyjane1972 · 12/08/2013 15:24

Hi all

Hope you are all well and babies are safe.

Quick update on how I am feeling. The weekend was horrific i did not move from the sofa (not like me at all) I had severe nausea 24/7 (have had this since 6 weeks) and my food aversion was worse, I have NEVER had so little energy, I had said to my husband if I was like this on Monday then I would be calling the midwife (lol) this morning I have got up with a spring in my step (still not 100% but better) the thing is although I still have masses of food aversions I am having to eat hourly as I am sooooo hungry (hungry and nausea!! huh?). As I am 40 there is a 50/50 chance I could be having twins and wondered if there is anyone else that has wondered like myself and had a confirmation yet? my scan is not until 12 weeks. As for how I am feeling I am enjoying having a bit more energy (still nausea) today but am fully aware not to overdo it!!! And as my patterns are going I am not out of the woods yet! And with previous pregnancies its been 12 weeks til I was in the clear :) thanks in advance

PramQueen1971 · 12/08/2013 17:32

MTB, thank you for the info re heart stuff. I love how your daughter broke the news!

Ice, my doctor is Lebanese or summat and speaks very rarely if he can help it. I've learned that when he's smiling it means I am well and if he frowns I have AIDS or some such thing. To be fair, he struggles with my very broad Lancashire accent and so we tend to just smile or frown at one another depending on the situation.

Tracey, I had two top-grade embryos transferred during IVF but am having a singleton. I wouldn't worry about twins if I were you, i am sure the chance of multiples is not as high as 50/50!

PiratesMam · 12/08/2013 17:41

Tracey It's definitely not 50/50 don't worry! I just read an article from the US that said 7 per cent of women aged 40 or over had twins; this goes up from 5 % of women in their 30s and 2 % of women aged 24 or under.

PramQueen1971 · 12/08/2013 17:54

...and usually the higher chances of multiples in women over 40 is 'cos the majority of us have had fertility drugs Smile

x0gawjus0x · 12/08/2013 18:38

Ohh id love twins!! Their so sweet especially same sex :-) although a handful id imagen !! 12 week scan next week veeeery nervous!! Hope everyones feeling well has anyones sickness started to subside yet!?

Fed up of these 13 hr days really tiring me out.. Very nervous about telling boss as they are already short staffed at my nursing home so she wont be pleased anyone got any advice/stories how they told theirs?

Am not on fb rock so i cant join anyway :( OH doesnt like me on it for some reason so i deleted it beacause im a mug xx

rescoonetwothree · 12/08/2013 18:47

hello all, hope everyone's ok, just skimmed and haven't had a chance to properly catch up yet!

pram glad they've given you some reassurance! on the venue question, we basically have music venues we develop and stuff / book bands in other ones etc.

Coolhand · 12/08/2013 18:51

Lyra enjoy your evening!

Really laughed at all the banned products. We would need to become hermits to avoid them all. Do plan on informing DH about cleaning products though.

Sarah very glad you got some help and are now on way home from hospital.

HotCrossPun · 12/08/2013 19:20

Get that nipped in the bud gawjus

Why does he not like you on it?

IceNoSlice · 12/08/2013 19:21

So the rice cakes actually worked pretty well for nibbling at to stave off nausea (and avoid me raiding the choccy machine).

Hope tonight is better than last night when DS woke at 9pm (my turn), 1am (DH), 4am (me) then up at 7am. Poor wee guy, those teeth are meanies. I was fit for very little this afternoon though!

ChocChaffinch · 12/08/2013 19:21

Urgh I've vomited approx. 7 times today, complete food aversions too tracey and now I'm literally scared to drink anything Confused but as my mouth contains approx. 1 litre of saliva Im sure Im not dehydrated.

Gah,.

traceyjane1972 · 12/08/2013 19:30

Thanks Guys I did think it a bit high when I read it and the fertility treatment would make sense.....phew !!
ChocChaffinch That is one thing I am thankful for every day i feel nauseaus and that's that i am NOT sick!! lol at your saliva comment though ;) bless you

as someone else asked is anybody feeling a little better?

x0gawjus0x · 12/08/2013 19:39

Dunno hottie doesnt like many of my frienss i dint think lol :/ xx

SoSurprised · 12/08/2013 19:40

traceyjane1972 hope the nausea settles soon.

Lyra happy birthday to your firstborn :)

x0gawjus0x I can't even imagine how I will tell my boss but I have to face up to it pretty soon as I approach 12 weeks.

MTBMummy does your DP have a death wish? Lol

Chocchaffin try to keep hydrated. Seven times! That's a lot. Hope you are on the mend soon. If not please see the docs.

I had a shit day at work. Then there were train delays so had to walk 25 min home. Doesnt seem like a lot but i am shattered. Still got some work to finish.
Am sooo tired and exhausted. Can't believe it's only Monday.
Finally arranged an appt with the midwife on Sunday morn. And she will sort out the scan date for me.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

ChocChaffinch · 12/08/2013 19:46

sunday mw sounds cool! where will you see her? in a hosp?

Slippersandacuppa · 12/08/2013 19:46

Blurgh, momentarily as I've just downed some lemon and ginger tea (oh how life has changed) but it'll come back when I start pondering dinner choices.

Not sure if you're going to welcome this idea so apologies in advance - Method cleaning products are great and safe (nope, don't work for them!). So I've got to think of another excuse now.

Re the whole fb thing gawjus I am that childish that I would start one up just to spite him. Does he have an account?

Slippersandacuppa · 12/08/2013 19:48

sosurprised sorry your day was pants. Am very impressed by the legnth of your hike.

faithfulandtruthful · 12/08/2013 19:50

Hot Don't put up with any rubbish from your MW. I have requested a homebirth and I have long term health problems (unrelated to pregnacy) and I'm a 1st timer and my MW didn't even bat an eyelid. Get support through Homebirth UK there is a "having trouble booking a homebirth" section with a few links to other sites. I'd investigate. I think you have to send a letter to the head midwife person requesting a homebirth but don't quote me! As for waterbirths being dangerous, what tosh! Hope you get it sorted soon xx

I'm annoyed on your behalf.

F&T

SoSurprised · 12/08/2013 20:00

ChocChaffin I am so happy she can see me Sunday as I had to go late to work three times already bcz of doc appointments and bloods. She is seeing me at home.

Slippersandacuppa thanks I need a lot of sympathy ;) DP is at work so can't vent at him either.

HotCrossPun · 12/08/2013 20:22

Thanks so much for all the homebirth/waterbirth info everyone. It's such a big decision to make, but I think ill have a lot more positive birth experience if I'm at home in comfortable surroundings. Hospitals depress me a bit. And after giving birth to my first child I am going to need DP with me, I don't want to have to stay on a ward overnight by myself Confused

I am going to arm myself with the facts for when I see the midwife next.
