Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Must start looking for a shark tank in that case, providing reassurance for all the worrying 'schools' of pregnant women across the world..

IceNoSlice · 06/08/2013 17:12

April Grin

Pram: I was about to say 'don't be daft' but can see that could be misconstrued!! What I mean is, of course you can have a stress and a worry. It's allowed! have a wobble, have a little cry, then get outside for a bit of fresh air and sunshine and move on. As a previous poster said, 'today, we are pregnant', to the best of our knowledge.

IceNoSlice · 06/08/2013 17:13

Oh and Grin at 'fajita'. Pretty appropriate when you think about it.

MTBMummy · 06/08/2013 18:40

I can add my story if it helps cheer people up

I managed to ride my bike all the way to the station, stand on the platform and get chatting to the station attendant, when she pointed out I was still wearing my slippers Blush

Coolhand · 06/08/2013 18:50

My friend had quite a few mcs in a row but had her first baby in April. Her brother is a sonographer and I asked her how many times she got a scan - she said she had around 100 scans during the pregnancy - she just wanted the reassurance all the time - so I think a few wobbles are fine Pram!

Another one of my friends conceived after 7yrs of ttc and several failed cycles of IVF and has a lovely DD. She said to me recently that if there was one thing she could change, it would be that she wished she enjoyed her pregnancy more, as it's the only time she'll go through it and she was in a permanent state of anxiety. She even pushed for and got an early c/s in the last weeks as she had become convinced something would happen during birth. She says she also wishes she had taken the time to appreciate the last months of complete independence! I guess that's easy said with hindsight when she's sitting with a beautiful and healthy dd!

Coolhand · 06/08/2013 18:51

On scans, mine is on 15th August and can't remember who was asking but I haven't been scanned yet this pregnancy.

JustCallMeBaldrick · 06/08/2013 20:29

I'm useless at keeping up to date with this thread! Sorry to hear about the losses Sad
I'm 10+2, and feel much less likely to vomit all the time than I did last week Smile Still got the nausea, but not quite as badly, although I still seem to need to stuff my face with crap the whole time...
My scan is a week on Thursday, and I'm already having loads of anxiety dreams - mmc, twins, on one memorable occasion it was even triplets! - and can't wait to get it over with, really!
Like a pp said, I'm going on holiday the evening of the scan, so if anything is amiss, it's going to bugger that up. Fingers crossed everything's OK.

justmuddlingthroughit · 06/08/2013 20:31

Hello all, thought I'd introduce myself! I'm currently 7 + 2, already had one panic that I'd miscarried last Friday, when I started bleeding. Early scan yesterday morning (with the delightfully nicknamed 'dildo cam'; my gratitude to whoever called it that a few pages back Smile ) showed a live embryo, totally unaware of the anguish caused to mum and dad. Hasn't stopped me worrying, of course, but for now I am pregnant.

MummyPig24 · 06/08/2013 21:06

Argh I've done something really stupid! I was added to a due in march bounty group on Facebook. The admin woman added me as a friend in order to add me to the group. When a status by her popped up ok my news feed I assumed it was in the group. She was saying she didn't know whether to find out the sex. I commented saying I wante a surprise and would just buy a few white clothes. Well it wasn't in the bloody private group was it! And it showed up on my friends news feed, she text me saying "do you have something to share?!"

Luckily she is a close friend and I immediately realised and deleted my 2 comments. I can't believe what a twat I am. I really hope no one else read it. If anyone asks I'm just going to have to deny being pregnant. I'm so not ready to tell people yet and I'm so cross with myself for being careless.

rescoonetwothree · 06/08/2013 21:19

baby i have just got this today, i have a sneaking suspicion it is thrush. the joys!

mummy i wouldn't worry too much, chances are most people won't have seen it!

that lady from the march thread this year came on and said about a Facebook group being helpful, once we're past the scary stage we should definitely set one up, or if we did before it could be a very private one!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 06/08/2013 21:20

Oops! Delete, deny, distract!

overlyemotionalatalltimes · 06/08/2013 21:22

It's taken me four days to read all three threads, before jumping on the bus with you, and I can't quite believe what an incredible group of women you are. The pain and anguish that some have been through has reduced me to tears at least once every 40 posts, but the kind comments that others have written has just made me pour even more. Can't believe what's happened to soured just now. I hope that there are no more casualties, it is just too sad.

For the stats I'm 10 weeks and 1 day, first/honeymoon baby (hello the two others in the same boat), 31 years old, based in Peckham (SE London) going to Kings College Hospital for birth (along with Pirates and JK10) and have 12 wk scan on 23rd Aug. I'll try and update MTB's stats page.

overlyemotionalatalltimes · 06/08/2013 21:35

mummy could you just pretend you were talking about how you wanted a surprise when you were pregnant with your previous children...? Aaargh to Facebook!

PramQueen1971 · 06/08/2013 21:49

Thank you, Ice & Coolhand, for your kind reassurances.

Grey, I'm well up for a private facebook group Smile

Overly, bravo for reading all the threads and remembering specific people and events! It's nice to hear a newbie say we're all lovely. Congratulations on your pregnancy - enjoy your time with us.

Right...I've put a photo of my gargantuan 'bump' on my profile if you want to have a gander. I know this can't be baby and hence it's bloating but..is this normal? Is it the progesterone pessaries?

MummyPig24 · 06/08/2013 22:08

No one else has said anything so I think I got away with it. I could just say I mean when we have another baby, not that I am pregnant now. Oh I'm such an arse.

Pram I also feel like I have a huge obvious bump but I'm not as lovely and slim as you are!

PramQueen1971 · 06/08/2013 22:17

Mummy, please send me your address so I can send you a fiver for that compliment (plus a voucher for Specsavers).

rescoonetwothree · 06/08/2013 22:23

anyone else want a private fb group - i've made one thats fully private (no one can see your posts/that you're a member apart from those in that group) but you can only add people you're friends with on Facebook

just me and pram at the moment so if you want to join just pm me your fb link and i'll add you to it!

overlyemotionalatalltimes · 06/08/2013 22:25

Does anyone else feel sick and hungry - all at the same time?!

IceNoSlice · 06/08/2013 22:25

I found out today that my boss is going to be a daddy for the first time in December Smile. Really pleased for him. Also really pleased for me as I think this can only make him more sympathetic!

apprenticemamma · 06/08/2013 22:26

evening all ...just checking back as its been a while. I've been on holiday in France, sadly horribly food aversion / nausea and shattered but it was a good break. Had some tension with oh and then almighty row (I've been v grumpy & something was going to giveShock ) and was feeling reallyreally stuck under a shitty black cloud of anxiety and low mood obsessed with v negative thoughts about the future with two kids yada. pram I know what you mean about wobble. I feel better now...started counselling with oh , booked in with midwife, spoke to good friends, rediscovered food love etc. Been scrolling through this v busy thread for the last couple of weeks and I second what the newbie said below (on phone sorry can't see your name) . Have alternated between laughing at stories of medicinal semen beccadugs and spaghetti up the nose April 13 ..how? !!!... and feeling tearful at such sad news I read, take care soured and I hope you are getting plenty support wherever you are xxx

PramQueen1971 · 06/08/2013 22:29

I must warn you that greymoose is young, thin and beautiful utter bitch

mimili · 06/08/2013 22:30

overly yes I do. Feeling sick and hungry at the same time is confusing!!!Hmm

IceNoSlice · 06/08/2013 22:46

If pram tells the truth, your user name is not very apt greymoose! You should be ... Trying to think of 'bright colour / beautiful animal' name... RedKitten? AzurePenguin? Nah, greymoose is better!

Coolhand · 06/08/2013 22:47

Welcome Overly and Justmuddling and yes Overly, I feel sick and hungry at the same time. In fact I am eating like a horse. Had a surprisingly productive evening so just rewarded myself with a mini tub of Haagen-Dazs.

Greymoose will get on to that (if I can figure out my fb link).

Pramela you'll pass for a young mum any day - you look great.

brightonbeachbaby14 · 06/08/2013 23:53

I'm also sick and hungry, sooo confusing! Tonight i ate a whole pizza despite the sickness then scoffed my way through a milk tray. I wish the sicky feeling put me off chocolate, I have a serious addiction. The nausea feeling has only just started for me over the past few days, I was feeling quite smug before that!
