Hi all! Providing the ladies who are currently in hospital don't give birth before the last 20 posts in our old thread, we've made it to a new one with babies all still staying put for now!

Here's the stats thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/a1694946-September-2013-STATS-THREAD

Welcome newbies! If anyone wants to join the FB group (better for sharing documents and pictures), please message myself or jennimoo with your real life name and email address and we can add you to the group!

No BH here either, at 38+3... no heavy or hard bump or anything.

badguider · 18/08/2013 17:06

I haven't had any BH I don't think... and I feel very far from labour at 37+3 today... I'm betting on a 41+ baby.
For hospital I'm only packing what I need for about 2 days and then have piles of other stuff on the spare bed for DH to pack if we need to stay longer. He'll be sent home each night except for the actual delivery so can take away dirty clothes and bring more clothes, nappies, pads etc.

frogchops · 18/08/2013 18:11

Actual feet poking out of my belly. Ouch! Not easy to eat soup right now.

flipflump · 18/08/2013 18:40

Juniper, I'll be kept in for at least 24hrs too. I've packed 6 vests and babygro's, 2 cardigans, 2 hats, a shawl for coming home and a little jacket. DH knows where to find everything if I think I might run low. I know this baby is big due to regular scans so I've packed things that claim to be up to 10lbs. Not sure I have enough for myself, does 1 nighty, 1 pair of PJ's and 2 outfits sound about right?

Lots of BH's here too, strange sensation but quite like it as feels like things are heading in the right direction. My bump has dropped, can breathe with ease now and feel like I might go early. Which of course means I won't!!!

jennimoo · 18/08/2013 19:30

Well my movements are super- painful now since yesterday's contractions. It feels like the cervix is all sort or sprained which I suppose makes sense if its started doing the labour thing. Today has (apart from the frequent hysterical crying) been uneventful.

Do you think the MW would see me tomorrow if I ask, to check all is well and put my mind at rest? I keep worrying that it all stopped because he's turned the wrong way or something, it did feel like he was kind of diagonal at some points today...

RakeABedOfTyneFilth · 18/08/2013 19:39

Sounds promising jenni (even, or should I say especially, the hysterical crying!!). Don't be downhearted if it's a false alarm, but get some rest and I think you could be on the way to baby time. Also remember You Can Do It...!

I'm going in to work tomorrow. Probably only for the morning. Well, nothing better to do and DH has somewhat taken over the home office with multiple computer rebuilding work (need a lot of server space for all the pictures and videos we're going to take, plus all the DVDs we're going to store centrally). If I haven't popped I will go in on Tues 27th just to be able to say "today" if anyone asks when I'm due!

Hurrah more people all the time!

How is everyone this evening? Had a nice mostly relaxing day (we moved a bit of furniture) over here!

Had a lovely time today, we met up with all 8 couples from our NCT group for lunch at a local pub. It was good to catch up! Especially with the 2 ladies who have already given birth early ...... Even nicer to meet their new additions to the families. In theory I'm the 2nd next due date from the remaining ladies! .... I won't be holding my breath though. It's mad to think that the next time we all meet up, we will all have our kiddies :)

CharlW1 · 18/08/2013 21:51

Flip sounds like baby is well and truly ready! When I had my appointment with the consultant I just asked for an induction date as though it was always on the cards and there was no question about it Smile I am on medication though andwas givin insu in to take if I needed it (I haven't) I have had a few highs but it's mainly under control. With my sister she (who also had GD) they saw her at 38 weeks and gave her an induction date for 2 days later so I would be prepared for that to happen - particularly if baby is on the 98th percentile!

Have had a lovely weekend spent with having lovely lunches with friends. Next week I am not too busy so I am hoping to relax before being induced the following week - eekk!

flipflump · 18/08/2013 22:51

Charl, that gives me hope of it happening quite quickly after my next clinic app. The consultant is so laid back and noncommittal. I'll ask for an induction date and see what they say. How do you feel now you have a date? I'm getting in a real panic about the increased still birth rate, another reason I'd rather go early. Good luck when your time comes, it's so soon Grin

Derpess · 18/08/2013 23:42

Hi everyone- thanks for all the lovely messages and sorry for delay updating- I knew I'd be busy with twins but I really had no idea of just how busy!

Luke joined us in the early hours of Saturday morning- such a relief and lovely for us to be together. Him and Megan are so sweet and content when next to each other :)

Unfortunately today Luke's blood sugars dropped again and Megan become a little bit jaundiced. After switching to formula feeds they have both improved quite a lot- hoping that this continues and that we'll get to go home soon!

Sorry your Dad had a fall Fl0 and hope he's on the mend.

Derpess · 18/08/2013 23:44

Ps- haven't managed to upload the pics yet... Will keep trying in between feeds/nappy changes!

Derpess · 19/08/2013 00:32

I think I've uploaded the pics to my profile page now...

jennimoo · 19/08/2013 03:16

Derpress - you need to make your profile public so we can click your name and see the photos. Glad you're all doing ok and they're back together!

Kittenkatzen · 19/08/2013 09:44

Oooh, looking forward to seeing derpess' twins pics! Any news from jenni this morning? Anyone else looking likely to pop soon? This is so exciting - I can't believe we have actual babies on our thread! Grin

jennimoo · 19/08/2013 09:54

I'm off to get checked out in case waters are leaking and because I'm panicking slightly and sore. Think I might have had a slight contraction just then, but hoping they don't start just yet as have a 15min drive to the hospital!

LotsaTuddles · 19/08/2013 10:01

Ooh, baby's being born.

Not sure how likely I am to pop soon, but I've dropped loads, baby's engaged and have been having twinges, don't think they're contractions though, more likely just braxton hicks.

Am definitely ready now though, very uncomfortable now. And it's supposed to get to 30 degrees by the end of the week sob

Mooster1709 · 19/08/2013 10:22

Hope all is ok jenni.

Those of you packing 6 changes for baby etc - do you have massive bags/lots of bags? I've packed 2 changes (from what I remember) and similar for me, but with nappies and maternity pads and everything I already have a small case, a stuffed changing bag, and an extra bag of stuff for DH to bring in and swap over after labour... this feels like a lot?

Manoodledo · 19/08/2013 10:26

38 weeks today. Can't believe that's all in many ways. Kind of overdid it yesterday. Invited 5 friends for dinner and then BIL and SIL announced they'd pop over for lunch with their 3 kids! Only had an hour or so between 'sittings' and desperately wanted a short nap, which I didn't get as DH decided to nip into town for a few things. He came back with a tiny little baby dress, so cute, which really surprised me, that, and a tiny pumpkin suit for Halloween!
Poor DS1 who is 7 is starting a new school tomorrow (just moved house) and I'm starting to feel a little bit stressed about it, although he seems ok about it so far. Can't find his school shoes so may have to go out and buy some new ones this afternoon.

Derpess · 19/08/2013 11:58

Jenni- thanks- can I set it to public from my phone or does it have to be done on a PC? Have tried everything but not having any luck so far.

Ps- good luck I hope you have news for us soon :)

jennimoo · 19/08/2013 13:01

Sorry derpress, can't see where the option is, will have another look later on.

Well MW at hospital was wonderful and did loads of checks which were all fine, no sign of waters leaking. Even offered a sweep but when I asked said no sign of cervix being ready so I said no which she seemed to agree was the right choice. Can't believe after all the painful contractions on Saturday nothing's happened!

Manoodledo · 19/08/2013 13:20

Has anyone else had the baby pressing on a nerve? I had this this morning and it sent terrible pains shooting down my leg. I think I terrified the kids leaping about screaming in pain Blush. Thankfully the baby must have moved after only a few minutes of it 'cos it stopped. Phew!
