Hi all! Providing the ladies who are currently in hospital don't give birth before the last 20 posts in our old thread, we've made it to a new one with babies all still staying put for now!

Here's the stats thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/a1694946-September-2013-STATS-THREAD

Welcome newbies! If anyone wants to join the FB group (better for sharing documents and pictures), please message myself or jennimoo with your real life name and email address and we can add you to the group!

Good point diet coke, let's will on those waters. I want to be induced early due to undiagnosed GD until 34 weeks, hospital being very vague about the delivery plan. Spontaneous labour would end that issue.

weebarra · 17/08/2013 18:09

Dietcoke - I'm in the same position as you re ELCS with the added issue that it took aaaaages with the other two for labour to become established.
Waters breaking would solve the problem of when to go in!

flipflump · 17/08/2013 18:32

Am I a dreadful mummy to be for not buying a baby gym? I've only just realised its the only bit of kit we haven't bought. We do have a lovely big play mat but nothing with an arch or dangly bits. Should I order one?

Readytosettle · 17/08/2013 18:41

I've been having the same dilemma....got a tiny love playmat but no gym. I live in a flat so am thinking I can put the baby under a mobile in the cot bed-am I missing something?

jennimoo · 17/08/2013 18:44

They don't need a gym straightaway so you can wait and see if you think they'll like one later on. We didn't have any gyms / toys / cot mobiles when DD was born.

flipflump · 17/08/2013 18:51

Good point ready, if baby is alert then cot mobile will be as good to look at/watch. Thanks Jenni, this baby isn't going to be interested in toys/dangly things. We can choose one in a few months. I've already said I'm not buying Xmas gifts for this tiny tot although I think I'm kidding myself. Maybe a gym would be the perfect gift.

CharlW1 · 17/08/2013 19:11

Flip how many weeks are you now and are you able to control the GD with diet? On Thursday, at 37 weeks they have given me an induction date of Tuesday 27th August due to GD. Baby was measuring upper part of normal for size but not massive but they said she would be very large if I went full term.

PurplePoppySeed · 17/08/2013 19:53

Thanks for updating the stats thread bad I should probably have done it when i suggested but I'm also struggling to match us on here to our real world selves Wink

derpress congratulations, I hope you've been reunited today and are enjoying some family time Flowers

kips & weeble you both look amazing in your piccies on the FB group, I dream of looking that good after my little one pops out! Grin

fl0b0t · 17/08/2013 21:31

Awesome birth news! Well done ladies, and especially thinking about Luke as I'm sure he is desperate to be back with twin Megan asap.

I've survived the final wedding of the year despite being a pregnant brides maid in desperately uncomfy shoe, not been all that chuffed about who my sister is marrying and my disabled dad falling over outside the church. Only cried all over my best friend after it was all done about how gutted I am. Just hope dad wakes up tomorrow not in too much pain and that my sister had done the right thing.

Now the social engagements are over, baby is showed to arrive. .... though I fear it won't happen for a long time yet! Keep having lovely babies you lot and I'll be waitingover here!

CharlW1 · 17/08/2013 22:01

Flo you must be do relieved that all your social engagements are now over and you can hopefully finally relax!

Hope your Dad is alright and isn't in pain tomorrow. With your sister cross fingers all works out - my best friend married a guy I didn't think was right for her at all - nearly 10 years later and 3 children, they have had their ups and downs but are as solid as a rock - and I really do quite like the guy now Smile.

Such exciting baby news - I wonder how many more will arrive by this time next week!

flipflump · 17/08/2013 23:06

Charl, I'm almost 37 weeks. Baby is on 98th centile!!!!!!! Next scan and clinic at 38+1 and I'm going to plead with them to start me off. I'm diet controlling but have the odd morning I go over 7.8. How are you coping? Bump has dropped, head is engaged, I can only hope I go into spontaneous labour next week so my care is out with their control but I doubt that will happen.

Kittenkatzen · 18/08/2013 00:12

Loving catching up on all the birth news, congratulations ladies hope you are enjoying your newborn snuggles! And such lovely name choices too. So exciting to have our first thread babies here already!

Fl0 sounds like a stressful weekend for you, hope your dad is ok after his fall x

I've had a lovely day today, been spoilt by my mum, sisters and close friends with afternoon tea at a posh hotel. Ate my bodyweight in cakes and scones and generally feeling like a whale now Smile

RakeABedOfTyneFilth · 18/08/2013 08:16

I seem to be having alternate nights of good and bad sleep. Last night was a good one - 10 till 6 with no wake ups other than turning over once. Also ( TMI!! ) had what I thought was a bit of gurgly indigestion before bed, went to the loo and was treated to a very satisfying clear out. Grin

More nesting today, well, helping DH put up coat hooks and re-hang cupboard doors. Might pack things into a just in case hospital transfer bag although home birth still very much on track.

38+5. Come on baby, out you pop!

Kittenkatzen · 18/08/2013 08:28

Ooh a clear out sounds promising rake, isn't that supposed to be A Sign??

Off to the mw today for a check up, but can't find the wee sample pot she gave me last time - oops!

36+3 Smile

RakeABedOfTyneFilth · 18/08/2013 08:32

Take a jug instead kitten! Learn from SGJ's hand-drenching!!!

(You get MW appts on a Sunday??)

frogchops · 18/08/2013 08:44

I'm a little dissapointed that I'm bit getting these BH like some. Well, I don't think I am, I wouldn't know what they felt like! Blush I've had something before, 2/3 wks ago that I thought might be it but bit sure. Nothing regular anyway. I do have days where my back is in agony and j just can't walk more than 2 mins and then other days I'm fine.
Friends I haven't seen in a while on Friday said j was very low and predicted I wouldn't go to Edd but I'm sure i will. It's my birthday next weekend and several already have a bet on that's when things might happen.... 4 weeks early???im thinking not!

fl0b0t · 18/08/2013 09:17

Thanks all. Today is total lazy day for me!

Weirdly I feel a very long way removed from bh or early labour signs. Baby is squeezed up high under my ribs with a large round bottom mooning around my tummy button. I've got awful indigestion and heartburn and sleep but feel a long way from baby dropping and engaging! got just over 4 weeks til I'm due!

OP posts:
juniper9 · 18/08/2013 09:23

I packed what I could of my hospital bags last night (in my defence, I'm not due for another 6 weeks!) and got all confused about how many vests and baby grows I'll need lots of the clothes are coming because they are irresistibly cute As I have strep b, baby and I will have to be kept in for at least 24 hours but could be more. How many clothes changes should I expect to do? Also, are people packing a range of sizes? My midwife said she'd buy me a drink if I had an 8lb baby, so I'm assuming I'll have a little one, but can't be sure!

frogchops · 18/08/2013 09:47

Exactly how I feel Flo, although he's not high, the bum is doing a lot of poking round my belly button and heartburn is a killer :-/
I'm packing 3/4 sets of clothes (vests and sleep suits with feet in!) I might investigate a cardigan too if I can find one. I'll pack a hat too and done mittens along with his pram allinone suit to come home in. Hoping that's enough???
ION I had a photo shoot of bump done yesterday, was lovely.... Haven't seen the pics yet but I've a feeling there's gona be a tough decision on which to choose! HmmDP is buying them for my bday next Sunday though so hell definately tell me when to stop!!Grin

Geesescareme · 18/08/2013 11:09

frogchops I'm convinced I've had no BH at all either, certainly no cramp/period like pains. Bump goes hard and heavy after walking around a lot but I'm not surprised really considering I'm meant to be carrying a giant! I was 1/5th engaged at 34+1 and bump dropped at 35 exactly.

35+4 now

Dorita75 · 18/08/2013 11:24

Congratulations new mummies!! xx

jennimoo · 18/08/2013 13:41

Geese - hard bump is BH! I didn't notice BH first time a d no cramps until labour was starting.

I'm currently crying my eyes out again and having nothing much happening at all apart from painful kicks which get my hopes up and vanish :(

Kittenkatzen · 18/08/2013 14:02

Awww jenni big hugs for you, I really hope things kick off for you very soon Thanks

rake yep midwife appts on a Sunday ever since we registered with the mw led birthing centre. They're there 24/7 so we can have our appts pretty much whenever we like which is nice.

36wk check up done, baby is head down and measuring 35wks. Here parting words were "see you in 2 weeks....unless you've had your baby by then" eeeek!!

Hope all the lucky mummies with new babies are doing well :)

weebarra · 18/08/2013 14:40

Well, DS2's birthday party is over and done, so baby is free to come when it wants to!
Although, if it comes tomorrow it will share a birthday with DS2 which would be a bit rubbish.

frogchops · 18/08/2013 16:10

Oh yes geese I get the hard heavy bump business but I put that down to doing too much, or generally excersising. Went shopping with DP just for 2 shops, and had to sit down every 2 mins, just felt wiped out, no breath, energy, legs like jelly. :-/ I've done nothing else today but could happily nap now!
