Holiday was brilliant! Went to loads of places, had a steam train ride, out on a boat, pirate ship and went to an aquarium. The boys decided to up their torment of each other and ended up being separated a lot but we really really enjoyed it. K actually rolled over while we were away, unfortunately she chose to do it on the beach and got a face of sand for her efforts Grin

Trix so pleased the scan showed no problems, hope you and DH can fully relax and enjoy the rest of the pregnancy :):)

Maybe those feet better be up! Wink

Solars · 03/09/2013 16:47

Boo sounds like you had a lovely holiday, well deserved! It's weird about the bump thing unfortunately I couldn't give a round of f's to mil but will try and steer well clear of her, it's funny none of the rest of the family have even tried to touch it and I would never dream of touching someone elses either.

So the consultant appointment just involved bits of history and a review of my meds. They said I coud come off both the clexane and cyclogest but start up on the aspirin again. It seems weird I can stop them immediately but I'm going to call my clinic tomorrow and ask if that's ok. Also I heard the heartbeat, which pleased me no end, she found it straightaway and it was thumping away nice and strong so that is such a relief! I get another review at 36 weeks and then if all ok I may be able to use the midwife led unit.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 03/09/2013 17:15

Solars so pleased you heard the HB, it's so reassuring isn't it :) I forgot to mention another little trick I picked up along the way, for a known toucher that you can't say anything to hold your jacket/large bag across your front, they would be pretty rude to rummage behind them to touch your bump :) if your sat down keep something on your lap I could often be found with something over my arm across my bump (think soap stars trying to hide it) Grin

SweetieTime · 03/09/2013 19:27

Boo welcome back love, hope you had a fantastic break. How did little K cope with the change of scenery?

Trix woo hoo great scan result and getting to test drive a couple of buggies too.

Keep how did your first day in the new job go? Are you already in bed?

Solars I find a big thin scarf can hide a multitude of sins and prevents touching too.
Congrats on the consultant appointment, is that right that you won't be seen again until 36 weeks?

Maybe hope you are taking it easy. Did they give you any tips for low blood pressure?

Twin seminar was very good. There were 4 other couples there and the lady running the course was a twin Mum herself. The first half covered last few weeks of pregnancy and second half was coping with the new arrivals in the first few weeks. It didn't cover the actual birth as she said that could have taken up the full session. It was very informative but also daunting. I am glad DH was there as I am not always sure he gets how hard it will be in the early days.

I have had to take off my wedding ring too as it often is quite tight and I am worried I might not be able to get it off at all later down the line. Keep you took yours off when away, do you have it back on now?

Solars · 03/09/2013 20:36

Boo yes it was very reassuring. Great ideas about touching bump avoidance thanks, I will try those for sure.

Sweetie that's right I won't be seen by the consultant again until 36 weeks now, unless I develop any issues. I still have all my midwife appointments though. That twin seminar sounds good especially for DH, what were his thoughts on it?

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 03/09/2013 20:40

Wow it sounds like it was a really good seminar Sweetie K did really well, a couple of slightly disturbed nights in her new travel cot but that soon passed. She did well out and about as long as I took my time with her feeds and didn't rush her. She did really well with the driving too, only the last half hour of the drive back had her upset.

keepitgoing · 03/09/2013 20:49

Glad the seminar was useful sweetie. I have put my rings back since we got home, and e45 has made my excema almost go :)

solars brill news on the heartbeat. Now its countdown to 20 weeks.

Nct was v good actually, focused on first stage of labour, eek. The lady gave some disturbing enactions of contractions... Nice people, very middle class, like us really!, so hope to make some friends. It didn't finish till 9.45 and the ladies were all yawning! One lady looked terrified and almost crying about labour, poor thing.

First day was fine, thanks all. Lots of compliments on my bump :) v tired now, so shower and bed, so sorry for short phone post x

keepitgoing · 03/09/2013 21:08

Meant to say I put my rings on a necklace as it was v weird not wearing them.

ThedementedPenguin · 03/09/2013 21:19

I really spoke too soon this morning. I nearly vomited all over myself while driving to my mums. Thankfully a few sips of water sorted me out until I got there.

Although I ate almost twice what I normally have for dinner. Managed all my carrots, half a sausage and 2 small potatoes. Think I'm getting better.

maybe I really hope you get better soon and have plenty of chances to rest up over the next two weeks.

boo glad to see you back. You sound like you had a fantastic time.

Oh I hate people touching my bump last time unless I asked first. I always had my hands on it sitting down or something covering it.

solars I'm so glad everything went well today. Also thanks for letting me know what happens. I was a bit nervous (no idea why).

sweetie the seminar sounded fantastic. And keep your nct sounds good.

Oh my, I'm watching a tv show and I'm a crying mess. Dam hormones

keepitgoing · 03/09/2013 22:16

Oh poor pen, and maybe great you're off work!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 03/09/2013 22:35

That's great news Solars! What a relief it must be to be cutting back on meds! Was your consultant nice?

Sweetie that sounds so useful. Was that a one off, or will there be more?

So pleased your first day went well Keep. You'll sleep well tonight. Please that the NCT went well. Are they spread out over a few weeks?

Sorry you're feeling rough Pen Sad. Is it the party this weekend?!

So pleased you had a good holibob Boo Smile

cartoontrickster · 04/09/2013 13:03

anyone heard of emmaljunga prams?

OP posts:
keepitgoing · 04/09/2013 16:21

Nope, sorry trix

Yes maybe, our ones are every Monday for 5 weeks, with one session just for ladies. But the timings vary, one course was a few Saturdays.

sweetie I found it weird being in a room with all the preggos, did you? Though we are last on the edd so I wasn't as big as most.

solars it's weird to go cold turkey on meds, and good idea to check with your clinic, but thats grear!c. I stopped the cyclogest overnight at 9 weeks. maybe are you still on it? It seems the placenta takes over by then, and there's not much evidence behind continuing, but I was v nervous...

Yeah, but the fact I haven't heard of them means precisely nothing! Looks good to me...

cartoontrickster · 04/09/2013 16:53

haha have you choosen a pram yet? theres a few I like!

OP posts:
NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/09/2013 17:12

They look lovely Trix. Hadn't heard of them till now though!

Yes Keep I'm still on the Crinone. I can stop at 12 weeks though, 6 days to go! Woohoo! I'll be very pleased not to have gunk coming out of me 24/7 Blush. My GP thinks coming off that may improve my sickness as well. I really hope so.

My MW said to book our NCT now as they get so busy Hmm

keepitgoing · 04/09/2013 17:22

No, we're getting a bugaboo bee off my sister, so I've not had to think about it :) Have to say I don't get the obsession with what pram. Tis just a pram, non?

maybe we booked ours at 25 weeks and had a choice of several. But maybe it varies by area. There's another cheaper thing called lazy daisies which some on my other thread are looking at.

Isn't the gunk just horrid? I felt so much better and more 'normal' for having stopped.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/09/2013 17:49

We've only a choice of one that we could go to due to MrMs shift patterns.

The gunk is gross. The number of times I think I've wet myself, only to find a 'deposit' in my pants Grin

cartoontrickster · 04/09/2013 17:51

oh I lurve looking at prams! i think I'm like a little girl with a dolls pram. Grin

OP posts:
NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/09/2013 17:57

Must say I love the pram thing too Grin

SweetieTime · 04/09/2013 18:30

Keep I found myself on serious bump watch - I was fascinated how big/small others bumps were for gestation, it is my new obsession.

Maybe our session was a one off and we don't have anything else booked. I was toying with NCT and actually spoke to them but the twins experience is so far removed from what they promote I have decided to give it a miss. I really wanted to attend to meet other Mums but £135 seems very expensive to meet other Mums.

Due to the very limited double buggy selection I haven't really got hung up on prams either. I can imagine it could be a very difficult decision when there are so many different options out there.

I have had a very naughty tea of runny poached eggs on toast, DH is out otherwise he wouldn't have let me. I know they are on the banned list but they were shop bought and well in date. I have read that all British chicken are vaccinated against salmonella too. Ok I am trying to convince myself!!!
