Just having a catch up read through now I'm back from hols, can't believe how fast the weeks are flying by for all you preggos now! Grin
On the bargainous nappies front I highly recommend Amazon for Pampers - they are loads cheaper than any of the supermarkets (including during their baby events), they deliver for free and if you do a monthly or bi-monthly subscription you even get another 5% off! They also do the 12 packs of Pampers sensitive wipes for £9.90 inc delivery (again with extra 5% off for reg delivery) I didn't make this discovery until DS2 when I saw someone mention it on MN and I've saved loads! Smile

morning.
keep, sweetie or any mummy brookers, what should I expect at my 20wk scan? what questions should I ask? will they let me see the screen?

keepitgoing · 02/09/2013 11:58

It does feel a long time, doesn't it solars. That was the time zone when I had DH reciting to me why it was all ok - no bleeding, small bump growing, putting on weight, uterus moving up. But you're halfway to the 20 weeks scan now. I am the same about people touching my bump. There is the odd one of my friends who are always touchy that I don't mind about, but mostly I hate it. In fact I tend to lie about whether Kip is kicking, as then I know people will want to feel it, and it can take a while, and I don't just want them sat there with their hand on my tummy... But I think if it's family you have to just accept it really, not worth making an issue over I think. Maybe just try and keep out of the way to reduce opportunities for hte main culprits!

maybe are you any better today? How about high calorie food like peanut butter on toast? Do not worry about the nutrients, Finn will take what he needs and just leave you feeling like crap but he'll be ok. Are you actually vomiting loads? If so then you could talk to your GP or midwife about anti-emetics. And make sure you aren't getting dehydrated. It sucks, but you're through the bulk of it now. Even if it's still really bad at least it won't be for too much longer. It won't, it won't, it won't.

Isn't it weird how many of us have anterior placentas. I always thought they were fairly unusual but that's me, sweetie (though to be fair she does have 2!) trix and solars.

sweetie is it easy to tell which twin is kicking you or do they move round much. Kips kicks on different areas all the time so I assume is still every which way up, but maybe yours are more staying in one place already?

good luck for your scan today trix - come and let us know how it goes after your shopping spree or before preferably

SweetieTime · 02/09/2013 12:55

Trix at my 20 week scan she just cracked on while the babies were in good positions. There was only the screen she was looking at so I couldn't see much unless she turned it to show me. She checked all the limbs, the back bone, the heart, the brain and then measured the head and tummy circumferences. She did us quite a lot of photos, which we weren't expecting as a friend had told me our hospital charges for the 20 week photos. I didn't ask any questions other than if she could tell if T1 was a boy. I hope this helps. Best wishes, I know it is a very nerve wracking time.

Solars I found waiting for the 20 week scan hard but then I have found them all hard. I think it is made worse by no symptoms and no movement but I do think my bump was growing so I knew something was going on in there.

Keep I can tell which is which most of the time, I think. Some of the kicks are very high up so not always sure who they are but the side ones I just presume they are the twin at that side. I suppose I don't really know but I don't think there is enough room for them to swap sides.

I am quite excited about our Twins Practical Parenting Seminar this evening. I am hoping there will twins parents on hand to give tips and advice. I know every baby and twins will be different but it is good to hear first hand experiences.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 02/09/2013 13:11

Afternoon lovely brookers.

Solars the wait must be agonising. 8 weeks seems like forever with nothing! When's you mw appointment again?

Good luck Trix, can't wait to hear how you get on.

Thanks Keep. I feel awful still. I feel so bad for moaning all the time Sad. I have resorted to a smoothie for lunch. And I had a glass of milk for breakfast. I have bought some soup but It's still in the pot on my desk Grin

I'm not actually vomiting. Just afwul nausea. And when j do eat, I feel like it sits in my throat and doesn't go anywhere. And (TMI) I seem to keep getting bouts of diarrohea. Which actually makes me feel much better, but it's not helpful at work Blush.

But you're right. The bulk of it's over. I keep telling myself that. And you're right, Fin can rob me of whatever he wants start as we mean to go on Wink

cartoontrickster · 02/09/2013 13:28

I'm booked in with the constant too and they are always running late so we might be a while but ill let you all know asap.
will they give us any time just looking at the baby or just get on with what they've gotta do?
hope we get lots of pics too!
I'm nervous because there's alot of things they check but not as much as I thought I mite be. I think it will hit me in the waiting room.

Thinking of you Trix, you should get to see lots. Catch up soon, traveling back today :(

ThedementedPenguin · 02/09/2013 15:32

Trix you should get to see lots. During my 20 week scan the woman showed us everything she looked at, all the limbs, the heart, the whole thing. Plus at end she asked if we had any questions.

I've been feeling so crappy past few days. Hoping it passes soon.

keepitgoing · 02/09/2013 15:52

oh no pen not you feeling rough too. That's not good! Let's up the anti-sickness brooking!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 02/09/2013 16:33
cartoontrickster · 02/09/2013 16:47

I'm back! she did show us everything and it all looks good. very wriggley baby. treats was doing a head stand (how clever is my child, I can't even do them! Grin ) got some really good pics. its amazing everything you can see! we saw a consultant who felt my tummy, listened to the heartbeat and checked my blood pressure. they want to see me every 3wks or so.
been pushing prams around in mothercare!
sorry some of u are feeling so shite it will pass promise!

cartoontrickster · 02/09/2013 17:00

thanks maybe! Oooo yummy cake.
I liked the graco evo best out of the selection they had. we Like it because it has the easy base with its matching car seat rather than ISO fix.
but I also want to check out the obaby zezu, cosatto giggle and silver cross wayfarer. Grin

So pleased for you trix :) x

cartoontrickster · 02/09/2013 18:39

oh yeh also I don't have an anterior plancenta she said that had been documented wrongly. I thought it was odd I could feel the baby so soon.

OP posts:
ThedementedPenguin · 02/09/2013 18:52

keep thanks so much. I can't wait for this part to be over. It's especially hard with ds, although I took him to soft play with his auntie. He had loads of fun in the ball pool. Plus we were the only ones in it so it was even better.

trix I'm glad to hear everything went well. Oh you went to mother care MrT must of been happy enough to go in after scan?

Re: prams I love mine again. I finally figured out where I was going wrong.

cartoontrickster · 02/09/2013 19:15

happy enough to let me go but no purchases made pen we both had a good look around though.
glad you figured out your pram!

Good news Pen!

Sounds like you had a good time Trix. I bet you're still on cloud nine!

Solars · 02/09/2013 20:20

Oh wow Trix that sounds very exciting! Great scan news!

Maybe mw appointment is on Thursday and I have my consultant appointment tomorrow, but I'm not sure what will happen at that appointment. By the way it will pass.

Thanks for the reassurances ladies, I guess I just need to be patient and stay positive. Right early night for me, I'm exhausted!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 02/09/2013 20:48

Good luck tomorrow lovely Solars! Can't wait to hear how you get on x

GreenOlives · 02/09/2013 21:43

That's brilliant scan news trix Grin

ThedementedPenguin · 03/09/2013 11:40

solars hope everything goes great today. Let me know what happens as in consultant care and have no clue what the difference is.

So I'm not feeling as bad today. Slept pretty well last night. How's everyone else?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 03/09/2013 11:56

That's great Pen Smile

I'm just back from the GP. I've been signed off for two weeks. I passed out this morning, and my blood pressure was very low. Hopefully I will feel better with some rest!

Hope all is going well Solars! Also interested about the consultant care, I'm not sure what to expect!

How did your seminar go Sweetie?

Keep am I making up the fact that you start work tomorrow?

Solars · 03/09/2013 12:08

Thanks Pen & Maybe I haven't a clue what consultant care is either so will reveal all when I get back. Luckily MrS is coming along too so if I go blank i'm sure he'll ask lots of questions. Appointment is at 3pm.

OMG Maybe so glad you are off work for 2 weeks, now you rest young lady! Dr's orders!!

Glad that you got a good nights sleep Pen I had to get up about 2ish to use the toilet and then couldn't get back to sleep 'til about 4ish but I felt ok when I got up.

How was the nct class Keep? and hope you have a lovely first day at work today.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 03/09/2013 13:01

Right, had a read back sorry if I miss anything, you're all very chatty Wink

Solars I hated anyone touching me uninvited, in fact I lost a friend over it, I had just explained to her0how fed up a war with being touched and she reached over and did it. She got a round of f's told in no uncertain terms how I felt. Good luck with your appointment. At my 16 week the heart beat was done, very reassuring! Consultant care for me was seeing the mw having all the normal checks done then a visit with 0he consultant who went through the notes, asked questions and put together a care plan and put down for any additional tests. Brooking for you :)

Trix I'm so happy to hear your scan news, was that a detailed anomaly scan? So happy for you and Mr C :) did you find out or is Treat an UBB?

Maybe I'm so pleased you're off work, now rest, when you're done rest some more!

Keep good luck with work, hope the class was good too :)

Sweetie how was the seminar? And has Mr S made it up to you yet? Hangover indeed, you're growing 2 brand new people!!!

Pen sorry to hear you're feeling rotten, Pingu is certainly making its presence felt.

That's all I can remember reading sorry if I've missed anything. Stuck with a mountain of washing suspects next door has sneaked some in Hmm
