All eggs with a lion stamp ate vaccinated Sweetie, so don't worry. I've been having runny eggs too Smile

That makes sense to skip the NCT, it's a shame they don't run a separate one for multiples.

ThedementedPenguin · 04/09/2013 18:37

keep it's not just a pram. I love looking at prams. If money was no object I think I'd of went for the bugaboo donkey. Although I haven't had a proper look at them it's just my fantasy pram.

trix that pram looks lovely. Is that what your going for?

maybe gosh that has went quick not sure if you agree I know my 12 weeks isn't going quick. Can't wait to start feeling human again.

keepitgoing · 04/09/2013 18:40

sweetie it seems that the classes are primarily about labour. So I agree that it will be quite different for a twin birth and particularly if you are planning on a CS. I'm not very good at making friends in those forced situations, and knowing we only meet 5 times or so. It'll probably be easier to make friends at baby/toddler things anyway.

maybe we didn't even know DH's shifts when we had to decide. But I thought that if he doesn't attend one or two classes it doesn't really matter. Still, if you know already then you might as well book after 12 weeks is out of the way. And that's not long! :)

Speaking of wetting oneself. Is everyone remembering to do their pelvic floors? I am doing mine whenever I remember. No accidents or issues as yet, but I hear they can start during pregnancy. So DO THEM!

sweetie I am sure that is fine. Actually it sounds quite delicious.

I think clothes and other things much more interesting than prams.

Phew, tomorrow I'm working from home. Will be nice to rest up.

SweetieTime · 04/09/2013 19:06

Pen we were going to go for a Bugaboo Donkey but it wouldn't fit through our front door. They are lovely I can assure you.

keep I haven't done pelvic floor exercises, is it just a case of squeezing everything down below? I haven't had any problems yet either and I have sneezed a few times today.

I feel totally reassured on the egg front, I really enjoyed them too.

keepitgoing · 04/09/2013 19:21

Oh sweetie you must! It's esp important for after birth. You should do a mixture of quick pulses, and then long holds, say 8 sets of ten seconds. Try and do x3 a day.

ThedementedPenguin · 04/09/2013 19:41

sweetie think I might go and have a push around. I really wish I could buy it.

keep I could count on my two hands how many times I've been pelvic exercises in the past year. I never remember and then ill read it somewhere and do a few.

So far except one close call on my cousins trampoline I've been fine. Although I'm not so sure ill be that lucky this time. I'm dreading the split stomach muscles getting worse it I try not to stress as I can sort them out again after.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/09/2013 20:07

Keep I sure have the courses here run over three nights, and MrM would only have made one of them. So we will have to go to a weekend one. It's the whole course in one weekend Shock. It'd be fine to nap though right?

Pen it doesn't feel like its gone quickly, but in hindsight, it kind of has.

Glad you enjoyed your eggs Sweetie Smile

I have a wedding this weekend, and I am making the cakes. 50 of them! I haven't baked for so long, I've felt too rough. But I planned how I was decorating them today and ordered a few supplies and a dress whilst I was at it

SweetieTime · 04/09/2013 21:15

Solars is it your birthday? you have kept tgat quiet. Happy birthday lovely. Hope you have had plenty of Cake

cartoontrickster · 04/09/2013 21:27

see to me the pram is probably the most important purchase because ill use it so much. that pram is rather expensive at around £800 and then of course there's optional accessories.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/09/2013 23:03

Solars! You're so cheeky!! But I'll let you off cos it's your birthday Flowers Cake x

Boo my SIL told me a post birth horror story where she just wet herself in the lounge cos she couldnt hold it Shock

cartoontrickster · 05/09/2013 18:20

I've made a start with the pelvic floors must remember to get in the habit of doing it after reading the stories here!
so I'm thinking of putting together a baby basics list so I know what I really need to have ready for when baby arrives.
also does anyone know of a good book that will give me a bit of guidance on what to do with said baby!
I like to be organised and I'm basically ruling out December because its such a busy month usually anyway. Grin

SweetieTime · 06/09/2013 09:10

Boo as always thanks for the coaching. I managed to do a couple of squeeeeeezes yesterday. I really am struggling to see how this will make any difference though. And squeeeeeeeeze again.

Trix I got a booklet from my MW that gives a list of things you need and I think the Boots free parenting catalogue also has a list. You can pick them up in the baby bit of Boots, I would imagine all the baby shops do similar as they want to sell you all their goodies. There is also baby event on at Argos, Tesco and ASDA at the moment for basics such as bouncer chairs, play gyms, changing mats. It depends how much you want to get. Also if you are on FB there are loads of baby sales group getting rid of stuff, I am sure there will be one for your area. Also NCT do nearly new sales again if there is one near you, just Google. Hope this helps.

I think twins are having some sort of growth spurt lasting 2 weeks as I am now massive. Yesterday I was in the office and basically got no work done for the number of people coming up to make comment on the size of my bump. Only in pregnancy do people think it is ok to comment like this, imagine if we went up to our male colleagues and commented on the size of their beer bellies??? Even DH said I would have to start coming in through the garage if I continue to grow at this rate. I will be interested to hear how much they have grown when we go on Monday for our first growth scan.

We are in London this weekend to see Charlie & Chocolate Factory and go to Buckingham Palace for the Coronation Costumes. I am really looking forward to it. Did anyone see Master Chef from the other night when they were making afternoon tea, well that is near where we are staying and it looked awesome. I really wanted to go but it is fully booked - boo hoo.

I am glad our trip is this week as I am not sure how I will feel about tramming my big old lump around much after this.

cartoontrickster · 06/09/2013 09:31

thanks sweetie that's really helpful. it all feels a bit daunting at times. we are going to kiddicare and mothercare tomorrow to do some reasearch shopping so ill grab a catalogue and see if it has a list.
these nct class things do I organise them myself?
ladies I am most worried about how to bath a baby?!
sweetie hope u have a lovely time can't wait to hear about the show I really wanted to see that one.

OP posts:
EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 06/09/2013 09:41

Sweetie you sound very organised, very Envy of your London trip, sounds fantastic :) can't wait to see you! I know what you mean about the comments, people seem to think it's ok just because you're pregnant Hmm

Trix new baby needs the basics, thinks feed, change, bath, sleep that's about it really, don't forget about what you will need post birth. Don't worry about bathing Treats it's really easy, the mw will show you ask.

Squeeze, release, squeeze, release and repeat Grin

NoMaybeAboutIt · 06/09/2013 09:55

Sounds like you have an amazing weekend planned Sweetie. The afternoon tea looked amazing didn't it! I neary cried, the pearly kings and queens were so lovely hormones

It annoys me when people comment on pregnant people. The number of times I hear people slagging of celebrities too for being 'fat' (when preggers) makes me want to lamp them

Trix there's definitely a list I'm the mothercare brochure. If it helps, I have a list sent out by an IVFer on another thread that has everything on it. Can PM you it if you like?

cartoontrickster · 06/09/2013 09:59

boo what do I need?! do u mean nipple pads and industrial sanitary towels?

OP posts:
cartoontrickster · 06/09/2013 10:02

maybe yes please that would be great.
I cried yesterday because some one dh left a tissue in their pocket and I washed it so there was tissue every where. Confused

OP posts:
EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 06/09/2013 10:12

Yep, and if you're feeding I suggest a good nip cream too like lansinoh (tis nectar for sore nips)

NoMaybeAboutIt · 06/09/2013 10:13

All done Trix!

cartoontrickster · 06/09/2013 10:21

ThedementedPenguin · 06/09/2013 10:35

Trix a lot of shops will have lists. I got a catalogue from a shop and its list of baby stuff you needed was 4 pages long. It was crazy.

We had a crib in our room at night so during the day if I wasn't holding baby he was asleep in a travel cot. If I wanted a shower I put him in his bouncer chair. We had a baby swing (was a gift) we used it twice as ds hated it. Also a baby bath (was a gift) which was so handy as we bathed ds at night so Dp held him and I washed.

Then other than the necessary: clothes, nappies, etc.

boo is right don't forget about yourself after birth, I didn't buy nearly enough pads. Also on a few occasions I forgot to bring nipple pads with me and wet tshirts is not a good look. So always have them.

sweetie your trip sounds amazing. Hope you have a great time.

Trix I know how you feel, I'm a crying mess. Any sad bit in a show at all and I'm crying my eyes out. I cried at hollyoaks the other day. Seriously need to sort myself out.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 06/09/2013 11:40

Ooh Trix another thing I got for myself, because the loss after birth can be heavy, some sanitary towel bags! If I think of anything else I will let you know.

RubberBullets · 06/09/2013 12:11

You will need lots of the thick maternity pads, they are much better than the thin ones. We had a baby bath given to us, we never used it. Much easier to just take dd in the shower with us and you aren't supposed to wash them more than twice a week as it is bad for their skin.

Is anyone planning on cloth nappies? If so then I bought most of mine off ebay, much cheaper
