The one where hopefully we are feeling less nauseous and knackered (although we develop hippo hands and feet due to the heat!), we are entering or are in our second trimester (phew!), we continue with 12 week scans and test results (ekkk!), we have 16 week midwife appointments and hear the heartbeat (OMG - aw!), we potentially see the beginnings of bumps and feel the first flutters of movement (wow!) and the 20 week scan for some is just around the corner! Grin

Oh and we try to improve our diets after surviving on one food group during the first trimester!!! Wink

Bring it on thread 7!!!

(pod hope I did you proud)!

Hello!

I'm starting to get the feeling that there are quite a few differences in hospitals and trusts. I am in Glasgow so I know from my SIL that we are looked after slightly differently but I'm shocked by the variations. I get my next date when I am at the hospital, one of the first things my MW said at my booking was to never leave without knowing when I was next due to be seen. That has been the same for MW, scan and psychiatrist.
Is this the same in all English hospitals?

TobyLerone · 07/08/2013 20:38

Aaawww, Penny!

I think the breaststroke thing is because it puts a bit of strain on your back. I always find it hurts my back because I'm probably doing it wrong. But if you're doing it right and it doesn't hurt, I think you're good.

MrsGSR · 07/08/2013 20:39

I've been booking my next scan/midwife appointment at my previous one (I'm in the West Midlands) but I think most trusts have a more complicated system!

penny I thought someone said breaststroke could be bad for your back in you keep your head out of the water, but I can't remember for sure!

toby only just saw your post, I'd be very annoyed too!

MrsVDB · 07/08/2013 20:41

humpty I've got an angel sounds Doppler off eBay 2nd hand. Came with 2 bottles of gel and seems to work well so worth every penny

Sultanajo · 07/08/2013 20:43

toby that is always their attitude! They put in the letter "if this appointment isnt convenient call us". Well I wouldnt recommend doing that!!!

Bugger - cant remember what else I was gonna say....

Sultanajo · 07/08/2013 20:43

Oh yes! What a fucker about your NCT classes! Are there any others running closer you can transfer onto? Angry

OP posts:
MrsVDB · 07/08/2013 20:45

I book my next appointment at previous appointment. Although I have some appointments at doctors too but haven't booked them in yet

Sultanajo · 07/08/2013 20:45

Oh penny thats so annoying! After you psyched yourself up and everything! I have read no breaststroke due to joints because the hormones relax them....however I have been doing breaststroke and will continue to do so unless it starts causing me a problem...

So lovely to read everyone's updates (even though some of you have not had so much fun), I was feeling really guilty about not having booked my 16 week appt yet (should be this week) but after everyone's posts I'm wondering if maybe I just won't bother!

Had my first proper 'wobbly' at poor DH on Saturday, proper hysterical tantrum (I wanted to fix the washing machine) poor guy didn't know where to put himself as I ranted, cried, dribbled snot etc. Eventually got the giggles about how ridiculous I was being but couldn't stop the tears, then got hiccups and had to have a lie down. Washing machine is still broken Smile

Hope everyone gets their issues sorted soon x

TobyLerone · 07/08/2013 20:57

Nope, no other classes. They did offer me one which runs from 22nd December to 29th December, but the chances are the baby will be here before the end of that class! I'm not that bothered, as it's not like I don't know it anyway after having had 2 already! But this is DH's first, and he wanted to go. The only reason I wanted to go was to meet other people because the thought of being stuck at home with a small child and no friends in the same situation makes me want to put my head in the oven.

:o Spacefrog

I book my appointments when they tell me to! Last time, my MW said to book at 16 weeks. Then at my 16 week appointment she said she'll see me after my 20-week scan, unless my consultant appointment came through and was within a week after the scan. Then she wanted to see me a week or so after that. Or something!
I'll make an appointment when I get the scan date through, because the consultant isn't til the middle of next month.

Sultanajo · 07/08/2013 21:00

Oh space I can totally imagine!!! I had a similar incident on Monday at the cinema, but it started as laughing and turned into crazy tears! We were laughing so much as we came out and suddenly I was laughing/crying/snorting and all really loudly and I couldnt stop! People were staring and laughing nervously at the crazy snorting woman with tears pouring down her face, while still laughing! It hit me out of no where! Was knackered after! Cant believe after all that your washing machine still isnt fixed! Wink

toby that is such a shame for both of you....Sad

TobyLerone · 07/08/2013 21:06

Ah, it can't be helped. It's a bit annoying, but friends assure me that NCT bumps & babes sessions are equally good for meeting other people, so I'll give them a go.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 07/08/2013 22:51

toby bloody fibroids. I am filled with righteous rage today, I could probably take 'em on, if you want? Grin FUCK OFF TOBY'S FIBROIDS.
Also FUCK OFF fucking NCT bastards being all inefficient. Grrrrrr. Anyone else? Oh yes - WHH. Right, that's my hit list.

space I had a meltdown tonight - partly over the 'lack of bump'. My mum laughed at me and said I'd regret wishing to be bigger and it was a good sign that I wasn't overeating. I suppose she has a point. It was proper choked up squeaky voice time though. Bloody hormones Grin

DH has gone out tonight, so no chance for a 'word'. We will have it tomorrow instead.

TobyLerone · 07/08/2013 22:53

And FUCK OFF HUMPTY'S RUBBISH DH!

TobyLerone · 07/08/2013 22:55

Not actually fuck off, obv. More like:

MAN THE FUCK UP AND TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY, FUCKER!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 07/08/2013 23:06

toby Grin Grin Grin.

On that note, I'm off to bed to starfish and steal all the duvet, that'll learn him

Sultanajo · 08/08/2013 07:31

I'm liking your "waits like a spider" Humpty.

I think you could have done with the dream I had last night. My dream mostly involved JUDE LAW!!! Now, I kind of fancied him in The Holiday but otherwise never really had a thing for him. HOWEVER, after last night's dream, I suspect that may change!!! Grin Ahhhh....sigh! If only I hadn't been interrupted by my rude alarm clock going off!

TobyLerone · 08/08/2013 07:47

If it helps, Sultana, my friend went for coffee with him once and said he was very dull.

Sultanajo · 08/08/2013 08:06

OMG! Well normally Toby that would help, but it's still very fresh in my mind! It's soooo odd when you dream about someone and then can't shake the feeling in the morning! Am sure by tomorrow I will be back to being indifferent! Wink

OP posts:
BookTart · 08/08/2013 08:13

I bumped into Jude Law in a gallery once sultana. He was quite, erm, chunky and bald Sad

Toby I've been moved onto the late December NCT course. Last class is the 29th and I'm due on the 6th. I checked that I can get a refund if baby turns up early though!

Sultanajo · 08/08/2013 08:17

Lol! Thanks book. I love that you ladies are trying your best to wean me back off him! It's cracking me up!!!! I think when I have the scan tomorrow my thoughts will be very much replaced by another very special person!!! Grin

lovelilies · 08/08/2013 08:20

Morning ladies,
just thought I'd share this horrifying interesting development...
Feeling all boobs and bump at the moment, had sex with DP last night, went to the loo... and... my nipples were leaking colostrum!!!! Shock

Sultanajo · 08/08/2013 08:25

That is interesting love! Am sure there was someone else on here who had also experienced that....can't remember who it was.... Have they stopped now?

OP posts:
TobyLerone · 08/08/2013 08:31

Oh, Book! We could have been on the same course! I can't do it, though, because it's at least 2 Sunday mornings and Sundays here belong to DS's rugby matches. Also, if I have an ELCS it will be at 38/39 weeks at the latest, which takes us to 29th Dec. Perhaps you could be my 'also being driven crazy home alone with a baby' friend if I don't make it to any of the NCT stuff :o

I had a sex dream the other night about someone with whom I had a brief fling not long before I met DH. I hope think he was on my mind because I'd seen him on the local news the previous day.

lilies, that is both interesting and gross :o
