The one where hopefully we are feeling less nauseous and knackered (although we develop hippo hands and feet due to the heat!), we are entering or are in our second trimester (phew!), we continue with 12 week scans and test results (ekkk!), we have 16 week midwife appointments and hear the heartbeat (OMG - aw!), we potentially see the beginnings of bumps and feel the first flutters of movement (wow!) and the 20 week scan for some is just around the corner! Grin

Oh and we try to improve our diets after surviving on one food group during the first trimester!!! Wink

Bring it on thread 7!!!

(pod hope I did you proud)!

Dont worry mrsg i think the things i thought were movements werent and everything else is in my head. Pretty sure it is probably just my grumbling belly lol.
I think its going to take a proper kick in the middle of the day (so i know i am def not dreaming it) for me to actually be sure of what i am feeling. Am jealous of everryone else feeling it (and knowing its what they are feeling) as that reassurance would be nice.
Am only 18 + 2 though and some people only feel their first at 20+ weeks so i know there is still time.

Happy first anniversary too. I am enjoying excuses to eat lots at the moment so your day sounds like heaven to me Smile

I have baked my mojoto cupcakes today in the hope that my rum syrup will seep in nicely before i need them on tuesday. Disappointing that I couldnt try the mix to make sure it was ok and I wont be eating the cakes either. I can at least eat all the left over oreos from the ones i make tomorrow lol.

I am on a bit of a sweet stretch at the mo and went out on a chocolate run last night, coming home with 7 choc bars for me to munch on. Have only eaten 3 so far, but i expect more will be demolished later.
At least i am having a healthy tea.

Hello everyone,

Sorry for the long absence, been busy and changed jobs last week. All's well here but still having morning sickness on and off. Yesterday vomitted so violently that I've got little tiny bruises around both eyes! But better today and managed two meals so far.

Haven't managed to catch up on everyone's news so far but hope you're all well. Enjoying hearing about your scans - mine's in a couple of weeks :-)

TobyLerone · 11/08/2013 17:44

Re movements, I'm 19 weeks and have only felt things which are properly distinguishable as the baby moving, rather than possible wind, in the last few days. Suddenly there really are proper sharp 'kicks', rather than fluttery, squirmy, 'I'm not sure what that was' movements.

Sorry to hear you're still suffering, flowers :( You poor thing.

Sultanajo · 11/08/2013 18:25

mrsg yay for ice cream heartburn fixing!

I too am not sure what I have been feeling is bubs moving and I think it will take something unmistakable for me to believe....

Well after saying I wouldnt tell anyone in RL if its pink or blue, two days in and I have cracked! Doh! Hope the sonographer was right! Grin

Congratulations MrsG
frizz I'm having a need for sweet things as well. My current weakness is gingerbread cookies from ikea. Luckily one of my friends works there and he keeps me supplied. (Which I realise makes him sound like a drug dealer!) Grin Those cupcakes sound fantastic, btw.
Poor you flowers. How is your new job going?
Yaay for movements and breaking the blue/pink news! Smile

Is anyone feeling slightly irritable? Currently annoyed as DP took DS out to give me a break. What I assumed would be a quick half an hour visit to GPs who live 5 mins down the road and give me enough time to get dinner on and put my feet up.
We've now gone past dinnertime (2 hours and counting since they left), bath time and bedtime and still no toddlermouse and Mr mouse. I'm starving so I'm going to eat without them.

the tv is also annoying me, there's a program on more with a woman presenting with a strong Welsh accent. Except when she says anything Italian and it comes out with a strong Italian one. I don't know why this is irritating me. Confused

curlywurlyllass · 11/08/2013 20:22

Im a tad irritated too enormouse

Booted the bath (dp did a grand job building the tiled surround hard as a brick wall) by accident last night and heard the baby toe crack- thankfully it wasnt the toe i broke in april!!
Its a lovely shade and massive :( flip flips for work tomorrow it is :)

Cranky as i am avoiding painkillers and the flutters i thought were possibly kicks are deffo wind today!

Hi to everyone

flowers congrats on new job
kitten hi from west glasgow!

Good to see some team pink and a team blue already! Congrats ladies

Sultanajo · 11/08/2013 20:33

flowers poor you with the violent vomming! How is the new job going?

curly poor you with your toe! That must have killed! It sucks just stubbing it, let alone giving it a good crack!

enormouse & curly I will join you on the irritated bus! My stomach and boobs are itchy and my nipples are so sensitive and keep standing to attention which is almost painful! My thumb just brushed one by accident and it made me want to smash something! Arghhhhh! Angry

enormouse · 11/08/2013 20:54

Well they're both back now. Apparently, toddlermouse insisted on having dinner at his grandparents (fancy gourmet pizza and garlic bread with a marscapone and cherry sundae thing for dessert) and they had to wait till the little blighter was done. Am slightly embarassed by his 'starving child -mummy and daddy never feed me' routine but he went straight to bed and DP and I had a nice meal together.

I'm aware of the fact I have been snubbed by my own son. My macaroni cheese obviously isn't as good as what granny and grandad have.

Thanks for joining me on the irritation express curly and sultana Smile

BuntCadger · 11/08/2013 21:21

Oh dear, I think hormones may be raging... I threw wedding ring at husband over most minor thing this evening.. And yesterday ranted because he snaffled all the smoothie

Toothfairy78 · 11/08/2013 23:33

Good evenin'
Nice to know some movements are being felt ladies.

Those faint little wobble/flutters I had are getting a bit more recognisable now, which is kind of cool. Not quite kicking yet though.

We have commenced clearing a room for the nursery today, which involved assembling some good old Billy bookcases and moving books from one room to another.

Have just had 2 nice weeks off work, don't want to go to work tomorrow!!! It'll be my first day back after announcing so should be interesting.

And good luck to those who have scans! And try not to injure anyone if you're presently raging. Xxx

Mac2014 · 12/08/2013 07:47

tooth I'm back to work today after two weeks off too. It's pants. But I think my hormones must be raging as I've been amusing myself on the commute by looking at the hottie (prob all of 25!) who keeps reaching up to the bag rack & exposing his midriff. Silver linings!!!

I was trying on work stuff last night as nothing seems to fit & the things that do make me look like a whale. I've gone for a mahoosive black dress and fab shoes.

Good luck for today!!

Hope the angry hormones calm down for all!!

Also realised this morning that we're all nearing halfway soon. Eeeeeek! Must start thinking about buying a pram. 20 wk scan next Friday so I've given myself til then to ignore the shops & hopefully if that's ok I'll be straight out to get a bugaboo!

Have a good day all. X

TobyLerone · 12/08/2013 07:56

Morning all!

Dentist this morning, with a tickly cough and very sensitive gag reflex. This should be interesting!

BookTart · 12/08/2013 07:59

Morning all, and sympathy for those heading back to work after a break!
Not much going on here, still no movement at all but all sounds okay on the doppler. Mw told me not to expect movement until 21 weeks - no idea why! Still no scan appt either and I'm 19 weeks tomorrow...
Have a good day everyone :)

TobyLerone · 12/08/2013 08:01

19+1 here, book, and they're still playing appointment chicken with me too.

MrsVDB · 12/08/2013 08:17

Morning!

I've got terrible constipation today (sorry for tmi) but I literally felt like I was giving birth! Anyone had anything that works? I can't imagine having this for another 5 months!

Also was sat on the floor a lot yesterday fitting kitchen doors and drawers and had tummy pain but above my belly button (only 16 w 5 so won't have been uterus). Also had it a bit today but more all over. Is this just stretching? Or could it be constipation related?

BuntCadger · 12/08/2013 09:33

I was going to use our carseats again the this one but seen the new britax rear facing one that takes them up to 4y and now rethinking. Anyone else seen it?

MrsVDB · 12/08/2013 09:55

bunt I had a look at that 1 but don't think it has isofix but there others do.

Mythreeknights · 12/08/2013 12:02

MrsVDB: friut fruit fruit and lots of water. Gallons and gallons of it. If that doesn't work, the almighty Albran will. Also try starting your day with hot water and lemon squeezed in - that normally gets things going. I HATE consitipation - once had it for 3 weeks (seriously) and ended up having an enema and going on a detox programme which gave me 3 days of diahorrhea but did the job. Tummy pain is most likely caused by that rather than lifting / pulled muscles I should think.

Sultanajo · 12/08/2013 12:50

Afternoon ladies!

Good luck Toby - really hope you make it through the dentist without gagging/retching/vomming on the dentist! That is what I am dreading! I need to call my dentist to postpone my dental appointment AGAIN as my GDD test is now booked at the same time! I am not gonna be popular!

Enormouse try not to take it personally! Everything tastes better in a different environment/when someone else has made it! It's the same principle as trying something off someone else's plate - it ALWAYS tastes better than if you had ordered it yourself. I will eat a hotdog at the cinema, but wouldn't touch them if they were at home.... And one day, when Toddlermouse is all grown up, he will look back nostalgically at your cooking and say things like "mum used to make the best...." Grin

mrsv mine has finally cleared (touch wood) and I am back to being pretty regular, although still a touch of it, since upping my fruit and veg and changing to wholemeal/wholewheat versions of things like bread, pasta etc. It's now at a point where I can at least go every day now, although it's not always that comfortable....

It sucks having time off and then having to go back to work! Bad enough after a long weekend! I am off from Wednesday this week and off to a spa for a couple of days with DH followed by sorting out paperwork and all the crap in the spare room so we can start thinking about turning it into a nursery. Will not enjoy going back to work next Monday again! Still, it should then be 3 months before I go off on holiday/mat leave, so that's something to look forward to!!! Grin

Hi everyone just checking in. Been a bit awol lately as so busy with house, puppy and visitors. Good luck for anyone with scans this week. Still a few weeks till mine but I have my 18 week midwife appointment this week.

Been struggling with mega tiredness last few weeks but think it's just because I'm doing so much. I've got a full on proper bump now which is nice. May have felt bean move yesterday but not sure so not getting too excited about it.

Hope everyone is ok Smile

Sultanajo · 12/08/2013 13:52

Yay nature for proper bump and possible wriggles! Not so yay for feeling knackered.

I have packed tons into the fews day off I have this week and am thinking I may well regret it, BUT it does mean I can meet up with tons of my friends who I haven't seen in AGES! Also meeting up with my mate who is 7 weeks ahead of me - haven't seen her since we both announced we are preggers, so that's mega exciting! In fact, that kicks off the few days of fun! Woop woop!

Hello all.

I just wanted to rant that my MIL wants to buy me a rotary washing line for my birthday present in the autumn. I have lied (am I a bad person?) and said we already have bought one. Seriously, surely she must think a mother to be would want something that she wouldn't buy myself/luxury type gift not something practical and boring....

Bump seems to be growing away nicely at 17 weeks... People keep commenting and then I think "am I bigger than I should be?!", never happy....!

Also booked a holiday last night so less than 4 weeks til we go away........cant wait for some sunshine and rest.

enormouse · 12/08/2013 18:43

Seriously percy? If DPs mum did that I'm sure they'd find her hung by it. Can your DP suggest something you'd like?
Holiday sounds lovely. Where are you going?

Hi nature how's the puppy?

sultana I'm pretty sure it's because granny and grandad do a nice line in puddings and cakes. With my egg allergy I tend not to do them often and toddlermouse usually gets fromage frais and fruit for pud. Every now and then I'll do something fancier (ice cream/Apple pie/banoffee etc). Although his granny is veggie and a very good and healthy cook so I allow the puddings as she's the one that got him into salads, aubergine and pesto in a big way.

DP has decided to go back to studying as jobs in his field are not very forthcoming atm. He wants to do a primary PGCE. I'm very proud of him as he's been very unmotivated of late and it's been hard to watch but am dreading the childcare juggling but I'm sure we can make it work should he get onto his course.

BuntCadger · 12/08/2013 19:39

MrsV I think it is isofix but humbling it'll be massive.

Off to France on Thursday night overnight ferry. 2 whole weeks! I guess there will be a new thread by the time I'm back

flowersfortea · 12/08/2013 20:45

Hi everyone,

Job is going well thank you and they've taken it very well about the pregnancy (as I'm in the NHS I'm still eligible for some maternity pay, phew!).

Sorry to hear about mood swings and constipation. I think they're fairly common to most of us. Now my sickness is better controlled with cyclizine I'm managing three meals a day and just trying to load up fruit and veg wherever possible which does seem to help, but next time I see the GP I think I'll ask for a bottle of lactulose to keep in the cupboard.

Jealous of baby movements being felt!
