The one where hopefully we are feeling less nauseous and knackered (although we develop hippo hands and feet due to the heat!), we are entering or are in our second trimester (phew!), we continue with 12 week scans and test results (ekkk!), we have 16 week midwife appointments and hear the heartbeat (OMG - aw!), we potentially see the beginnings of bumps and feel the first flutters of movement (wow!) and the 20 week scan for some is just around the corner! Grin

Oh and we try to improve our diets after surviving on one food group during the first trimester!!! Wink

Bring it on thread 7!!!

(pod hope I did you proud)!

Hi curly. The sneezing thing happens to me but not the arm bit.. wgen I sneeze I get a really sharp pain like stretching/pulling which goes straight away. I hate sneezing because of it! I had this in my last pregnancy and assume its just muscles or ligaments that are already stretched having more pressure put on them.

fryingpantoface · 05/08/2013 16:26

hi everyone! Thanks for the good wishes :)

The baby seems to be fine, moving around a lot which is nice. I'm 16+3 today which seems to have gone by quickly.

The Dr has said I need to take it easy and remember i'm pregnant. Which seems like an odd thing, but I, aside from this weekend, I've not had any time to just mooch around. As I look around the house I've got loads of housework to do, but DH told me to just do what I can.

I've also been given a calling at church which is exciting! It's all mounting up at the moment

MrsGSR · 05/08/2013 16:39

Blue I can't find a category for reclining car seats (although I am on my phone) but there are 2 lie flat seats, the britax baby safe (5 stars for safety but just short of being a best buy) and the Jane transporter (4 stars).

We have the same issue, both of our parents live about 4 hours away. I'm looking at a Jane travel system as it can be used with the strata, a rear facing seat that has being designed to help pulmonary development, and the transporter 2 which is a lie flat. There's so much to think about!

MrsGSR · 05/08/2013 16:43

Welcome and congrats doctor!

Glad to hear you're ok frying!

MrsV I think I read somewhere that if your bmi is higher than 25 you only need to put on 15-25 lbs, bmis under 25 should aim for 25-35 and those with a bmi under 19 should put on more.

TobyLerone · 05/08/2013 16:58

What's a calling, frying?

MrsVDB · 05/08/2013 17:01

mrsgsr yes that's what I thought. I used that link someone posted before and it said that for me. I've lost stone and half so far ( not dieting) so hoping maybe optimistically that I won't go above bfp weight

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 05/08/2013 17:11

Frying so glad you're okay and mini-frying is okay. PHEW!

mythree I was am like you - as soon as it's been more than 5 mins since I saw the scan, I am fearing the worst, that's why I so badly want to feel movement and why I was so disappointed not to hear hb at 16wk appt. I'm sure we'll both be fine and soon be advising other worriers on the pg board!

MrsVDB how annoying - there have been loads of threads recently about mws not recording things correctly. I'm sure they meant to - it must be massively overstretched!

curly - when we do finally get to hear the hb, it will be ACE! Good luck sorting the appointment thing out.

Saw a friend today who's two weeks ahead of me, and her bump is starting to poke out. Gives me hope that I'm not behind the curve (arf arf) - she's also already being kicked enough to feel from outside!

TobyLerone · 05/08/2013 17:50

Booktart, are you about? Have you had your 20 week scan appointment yet? The WHH are still all to cock Angry

fryingpantoface · 05/08/2013 18:08

toby sorry, I kinda forget not everyone knows me in RL! I'm LDS (Mormon) and a calling is when you're asked to do something in church. So I've been asked to help organise and look after the children, from 18mnths to 12, and teach and stuff. It should be a lot of fun.

TobyLerone · 05/08/2013 18:09

Aaaahhhhh! I feel like I learned something :) Thanks!

Congratulations! And I'm glad everything seems to have settled down for you now.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 05/08/2013 18:49

frying oooh sounds fun!

Toby FFS, why can they not get their ARSES in gear? I am Angry on your behalf.

Penny31 · 05/08/2013 19:33

Hi hi! So excited :) scan was amazing and everything was perfect from what they could see. And we are team pink!

TobyLerone · 05/08/2013 19:36

Congratulations penny :o

BookTart · 05/08/2013 19:58

toby, at my appointment last week my midwife said they are still buggered at WHH and that I shouldn't expect a date much before 21 or 22 weeks. If I still haven't had an appointment by 19.5 weeks (so end of next week for me) then I have to let her know Angry I'm almost tempted to get a private one done now, so at least I know and can tell people things are okay.

I've only just got my "early referral" appointment to see the cervix doctor, and it isn't until 22 weeks Angry. I'm really worried now, because I've had loads of really sharp shooting pains in my cervix and fanjo for over a week now. Midwife said it is just stretching pains, but given that I'm at risk of having a knackered cervix (and I'm madly anxious anyway) I'm beside myself with worry over it. I don't want to find out too late that I needed a stitch Angry

This post was bought to you by the Angry smiley!

Penny - congratulations! A little girl!:)

MrsVDB · 05/08/2013 20:06

Woo penny :)

TobyLerone · 05/08/2013 20:06

Yy I phoned them today (haven't even had the 12wk report in the post as promised, let alone an appointment) as advised by my mw. The grumpy woman in Canterbury (because you have to ring there now) said she'll chase it up Hmm

Penny31 · 05/08/2013 20:16

book how annoying. If you haven't had an appointment at 19.5 weeks I would be tempted to go private too. The stress and worry can't be good.

Toby I find it infuriating that the care we receive seems to differ so drastically geographically. I realise that I've been super lucky and everything has been efficient and most people lovely.

BookTart · 05/08/2013 20:16

I got my 12wk report handed to me by my midwife last week, nothing in the post at all. So rubbish!

fryingpan, so glad all is well. Must be such a relief for you :) And ignore the housework!

Frizz1986 · 05/08/2013 20:50

Ooooo a girl penny Exciting!
Is it a silly idea to add the babies gender to our stats thread. Can keep track of how many girls and boys are expected and also how many people arent finding out.

Sultanajo · 05/08/2013 21:09

humpty I am 19 + 3 & my bump is only just appearing.

Thanks mrsv - very reassuring about the home doppler use - my bmi was just over 30 at ny bfp, so didnt really want to put on more than 20lbs max. So having put on almost 7 already in just a few weeks has stressed me out! Did three hours of walking round the shops, trying on clothes, buying a christening pressie, buying an awesome baby changing bag and oggling at all the non essential baby stuff thats just too cute!!!Grin

Also saw the film the heat this afternoon and it was frickin hilarious! Best film I have seen all year!

book I too would be very tempted to go private! Angry for u!

Penny yay! Congrats on the team pink and so pleased it all went so well. Really hoping ours goes well on Friday - just starting the usual pre scan worrying!

Cant remember who asked if the feelings of movement are always in the same place. Not for me. The first time it was lower right abdo. Today it has been in the middle and to the left. I seem to get more movement when I am moving around which is interesting! Still getting used to the feelings. Really thought I was gonna pee myself walking round town, so started quickly heading for the toilets and then the feeling went and I realised it had been bubs partying! Grin

Got some over the bump jeans today from debenhams and some super comfy over the bump stretchy joggers and both make me look as though I have a bump rather than fat, so pretty chuffed with them! Grin

sultana I was terrified when I got in The scanning room but as soon as I saw the baby I was fine. They talked me through everything and were so reassuring, it was a lovely experience. I want to do it again!

Penny31 · 05/08/2013 21:29

Yes frying pleased you are well xx

TobyLerone · 05/08/2013 21:32

Penny I have to say that until now, any and all antenatal care I've received from this trust has been great. DH was googling the problems earlier and it seems that it's affecting the radiology depts of the entire trust and all hospitals therein (at least 5). They installed the new system fine, apparently, only once it was installed they realised that it was crap.

I've never worked anywhere where there has been a computer upgrade and they haven't thought to run the 2 systems in tandem for a while in case of teething problems. It's not like it's a corner shop, FFS, where it doesn't matter if it doesn't work properly at first. It's 4 NHS Trusts!

Penny31 · 05/08/2013 21:43

Yeah it's kinda important since it messes with people's health and emotional well being. You'd think they would be more cautious. Grrr
