The one where hopefully we are feeling less nauseous and knackered (although we develop hippo hands and feet due to the heat!), we are entering or are in our second trimester (phew!), we continue with 12 week scans and test results (ekkk!), we have 16 week midwife appointments and hear the heartbeat (OMG - aw!), we potentially see the beginnings of bumps and feel the first flutters of movement (wow!) and the 20 week scan for some is just around the corner! Grin

Oh and we try to improve our diets after surviving on one food group during the first trimester!!! Wink

Bring it on thread 7!!!

(pod hope I did you proud)!

Have they done some updated reviews on pushchairs recently? We looked on which? when buying for dd and they were clearly talking about a former model of the pushchair we bought (quinny) because some of the features had changes about 2 years previously. At that time the Uppa baby vista was their top rated and I wish we'd gone for it as the quinny doesn't convert to a double.

MrsGSR · 04/08/2013 21:55

sultana I originally just did the trial, and then never cancelled it... lol

tarka The top rated now is the uppababy cruz. The pram we like was only released last year and that's on there so I guess they've done some more recently!

littlealien01 · 04/08/2013 22:51

Hi ladies,

ive also got a which subscription just for reading up on baby stuff :)

Is anyone else feeling ridiculously itchy and/or dizzy at the moment? im 16+5 and seem to be either scratching like ive got fleas or something or feeling dizzy and out of it this week.

seeing the midwife on thurs so will ask then, but in the meantime is this normal do you think??

lovelilies · 04/08/2013 22:55

I've been itchy too little, just the back of my neck though... and feeling exhausted today, like my arms and legs are made of lead!
Pretty sure I can feel Pip flipping around now, the odd 'flick' from inside and some vibrations, like a mobile vibrating in my tummy Grin Grin

Sultanajo · 05/08/2013 07:37

Well so much for the lie in! Grrr! Why am I awake???

love ekkk how exciting to feel vibrations and little flips! Grin I havent felt anything since yesterday morning - am becoming a flip junkie already! Come on bubs, flip for me! Grin

mrsg I just reminded DH to cancel the which before the end of the trial. Its so unlike me to remember to do that - in fact I only remembered because you mentioned it, so I owe u one! Wink

little have felt some itching but only certain areas and very intermittent. I have read a lot of itching can indicate something, but think perhaps thats later on? Sorry, being a bit vague....have u tried looking it up anywhere? If u r worried u could call your midwife, or indeed the tommys pregnancy help line will be open from 9am x

My belly is quite itchy sometimes and as its already huge the stretch marks are already appearing and looking rather purple. Eek! Using palmers stretch mark cream after morning shower and bio-oil after night time one.

Can dome

Bluecarrot · 05/08/2013 07:58

Can someone tell me the Which? top-rated extended rear facing, reclining, suitable from birth car seat? Failing that, the top rated lie flat that attaches to a buggy. We will be travelling a lot to see dps family a few hours drive away so I worry about oxygen desaturisation.

I've already had the trial a few months ago, so can't do another yet.

Sultanajo · 05/08/2013 08:05

Omfg! Well I thought I wasnt eating too badly, BUT the scales tell another story!!! Yet another pound has gone on in the last few days! Panicking now! It all seems to be going to my face too! Gonna go swimming more and force myself out for more walks on my days off! I just need my new trousers to arrive so I dont have to go out naked!

This is now officially the heaviest I have ever been and it doesnt make me feel good! Sad I know weight gain is part of the package, but this much this soon is scaring me! Ok no more ice cream, milkshakes for heartburn sultana! Hmm

Hi just jumping in to this thread. I am due on 01.01.14. This will be number 2. Waiting for my 20 week scan in just over a week and feeling not too bad now that terrible sickness is gone. Also looking at double pushchairs.. any recommendations? Could be a sign that you are a bit aneamic Little if you are itchy.. I was itchy with DD and my hb was a bit low.

Percypiglet · 05/08/2013 08:17

Hi all, anyone fancy going to work for me today? Am dreading it. My colleague has been sick on/off but more sick than in work since April (she's pregnant) and the managers don't seem to be doing anything about it. Am sick and tired of covering her work.....

AnotherStitchInTime · 05/08/2013 09:04

Good site for buggy reviews here. It has a good section on doubles and tandems Doctor. Also if you search the pushchair section of this forum you will find lots of threads about different buggies.

Penny31 · 05/08/2013 09:30

Arghhhhhhh heartburn. I really suffering, to the point that I actually sometimes vomit. I woke up every 2 hours through the night with it and its still here this morning. I'm going to have to go to the docs, gaviscon just isn't shifting it :(

Penny31 · 05/08/2013 09:31

Sultana it all depends on what you weighed before and how much in goal you have put on. I posted a link earlier in the three that helps you check if your weight gain is 'normal'. I found it reassuring.

MrsAVB · 05/08/2013 10:24

Morning all!
Welcome doctor' I'm due on the 1st too.
I too have started to feel some fluttering, I think someone said earlier it feels like a little mouse moving around, and that's exactly what it feel like! Very exciting!
[[http://www.asos.com/Favourite-Brands-Promotion/Promotion-2/Cat/pgecategory.aspx?cid=16842&WT.ac=CP|WW|50off|hdr|mate asos have 50 maternity items at 50% at the moment.
Have a good day all xxx

MrsAVB · 05/08/2013 10:24

asos whoops!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 05/08/2013 10:41

MrsG you are an ANGEL! I got the review, thank you lovely.

Re itching OH GOD yes. Not constant, so I'm not thinking it's anything other than an annoyance, but it's the sudden 'I MUST ITCH THAT NOW OR DIE OF IRRITATION' kind of 'sharp' itches I keep getting. IYSWIM.

sultana I don't mind putting weight on (not that I've checked), but I DO mind not having a bump yet. Come on slow-coach baby, up you go. Mama needs to not look like she's eaten too many pies.

MrsA ta for link, I love maternity clothes shopping, I can fool myself they're 'essentials' rather than 'extras'... Grin

Doctorbrownbear · 05/08/2013 11:38

Thanks another stitch for the reviews and nice to share due dates mrs avb. I am feeling some little movements too, like a little soft poke and squirming from time to time. Had an anterior placenta last time so I didn't feel it until much later. At my 12 week scan the baby was wriggling like mad so not surprised I am feeling it early this time! Penny, my heartburn is kicking in too, horrid... Last time I got stuff on prescription, big bottles of the stuff that kept it at bay. Think it's time to get some more! Oh and I have attractive thred veins on my legs... Lovely!

MrsVDB · 05/08/2013 12:31

Just had my 16w appointment and midwife listened to heartbeat without me asking which was nice. sultana I asked about using the Doppler at home and midwife said its fine, the only reason they don't like you using it is incase it gives you false reassurance if your worried about something and it prevents you calling midwife. I said I just listen to it because I like it and she said that's fine.

I asked about how much weight I should put on as I'm overweight already. She said they don't monitor it as there's only so much damage you can do in 6 months said no more than 2-3 stone would be fine. Far more than I'm hoping for!

Also noticed I've been referred to consultant At booking in apt due to septate uterus but haven't heard anything yet.

TobyLerone · 05/08/2013 12:51

Penny, you need omeprazole. Beg, if you have to! Ranitidine will be more likely and apparently it's ok, but omeprazole is the business!

Mythreeknights · 05/08/2013 15:12

Thanks for all paint-fear-quelling, must admit I worked myself up into a bit of a tizz and convinced self that I've caused brain damage to the baby, but if you've all done it and your kids are fine, well then! Panic over Smile (I hope)
I've been AMAZED not to have heartburn this time round - had it so badly with the other two, but still only 16 weeks so perhaps still fairly early on. My nose is permanently stuffy though, and I have a cyst on my eyelid. NICE. I look like that bloke in There's Something about Mary. attractive.

Mythreeknights · 05/08/2013 15:14

Oooh, and it's my 16 week appt on Weds - I CANNOT WAIT. I haven't been able to bring myself to even consider buying any baby related items yet in case it (the baby) has died between the 12 week scan and now. (Such a positive person) But as of Weds, it's chi ching....

MrsVDB · 05/08/2013 15:43

Just read my notes from today and it says 'fetal movements discussed- not felt yet'. That's not true As she never asked. Student midwife wrote it then other midwife checked it and signed it. Not a big deal but annoying

Mythreeknights · 05/08/2013 15:48

MrsVDB - I think we're due date buddies - have you felt movement yet?

curlywurlyllass · 05/08/2013 16:01

Hi ladies
Nice to see im not the only one who's midwife team wouldnt listen to the heartbeat. I had been really looking forward to it so was again dissapointed by an ante natal appointment.

Tho this midwife did look into my AFP screening results and yesterday found that the lab didnt test my blood!!! And no one at the hospital actioned this ranted in a post in the pregnancy section so had to get my blood taken again and its going to be another 2week wait AGAIN to find out if im high or low risk will b taking this issue further

Urgh seems like nothing is easy! ive had 3appointments to see a consultant but never actually seen one yet, im beginning to think they are a myth lol

Love hearing you have started feeling movements. Im not sure if i have, is it always in the same place u feel it? I get flutters on the lower left side of my belly/tummy

has anyone sneezed and had a severe pain at left side of tummy/pelvis followed immediately by shoulder/arm pain? Its 2 more weeks till i can ask the elusive consultant and midwifes can offer no advice

Hope its not too hot where u are :)
