The one where hopefully we are feeling less nauseous and knackered (although we develop hippo hands and feet due to the heat!), we are entering or are in our second trimester (phew!), we continue with 12 week scans and test results (ekkk!), we have 16 week midwife appointments and hear the heartbeat (OMG - aw!), we potentially see the beginnings of bumps and feel the first flutters of movement (wow!) and the 20 week scan for some is just around the corner! Grin

Oh and we try to improve our diets after surviving on one food group during the first trimester!!! Wink

Bring it on thread 7!!!

(pod hope I did you proud)!

mrsV yep, we're going tomorrow - mainly to shop for prams/slings/cots. We love the Cosatto Giggle and at the mo, this pattern is on an awesome deal in JLP. I'll let you know how Kiddicare Croydon is

nature glad you're feeling better lovely.

MrsAVB i looked at the IO sale on Casabu, but all the really nice stuff is still £100 (FOR A DRESS??!?!) or sold out except in size 8.

I think I had flutters last night - was poking belly to show DH where the bump was, and am pretty sure there was a 'gerroff me' flutter or three in response obviously did not then spend half an hour poking more to try and confirm it, no no

penny good luck on Monday! I am two weeks away, and CANNOT WAIT!

TobyLerone · 02/08/2013 12:08

MrsV sounds much too high for 15 week movement. The top of your uterus is just under halfway between your pelvis and your navel at that point. I've had muscle twitches which felt exactly like you describe, pregnant and not pregnant.

Penny, don't panic. I'm enormous! Just about 18 weeks now and definite, definite bump (although I still feel like I just look fat). When I saw the MW last week the top of my uterus was above my belly button already because of the fibroids taking up so much room. So I've just resigned myself to the fact that I'll be huge. I've only put on 4lbs, too!

I'm starving all the time and so knackered. I had to stop the car at a service station 15 mins from home yesterday and sleep for half an hour in the car park or I wouldn't have made it. Then I had a 2hr nap when I got home. Last night I slept 11pm -6.30am, then 8am - 11am Blush

MrsA, it's the Stokke Xplory we're getting. It's amazing and almost worth the insane price tag!

TobyLerone · 02/08/2013 12:08

Good luck with your scan, Penny! I must ring and find out when mine is...

MrsA Thank you and I will keep my fingers crossed you are having a girl. Are you finding out or are you in the wait/surprise camp? It's so much easier now to make decision on baby staff.. ha ha ha

Sultanajo I just cant wait to hear what your having.. Lets see if the majority or your DH are right? I can be really stubborn as my MW is finding out. Not sure if I can only have a C-Section when there is a medical requirement. But I am sure I read somewhere that new NISA guidelines state women can have a C-Section if the don't feel a vaginal birth is right for them. So the battle with my water home birth obsessed MW continues. With regards your birth plan, just tell them "unless you want to see one of these www.wallsave.com/wallpaper/1600x1200/hulk-orange-green-hyper-combo-audioshocker-789120.html then give me all the DRUGS I want when I asked for them!"

Nature Yeap you are right. The one2one MW are very obsessed with home births. But in my usual cynical way, I think that has a lot to do with the fact they then get paid for the birth rather than the hospital if it?s a home birth. Where as if we go to hospital or a birthing centre one2one don't get a penny! Outside of my MW crazy deluded obsession with trying to convince me C-Sections are the work of the DEVIL, my one2one MW is brilliant compared to the community one I had before. How are you finding them?

Toby YES I WILL SWAP?. My MW would love you.

MrsV that sounds like movement. How exciting. I am 18+1 and have felt nothing but I do have a front facing placenta so I probably won't feel her and until she is 21ish weeks old.

Penny I am 18+1 and I have a definite bump. Everyone keeps telling me that I look small for 18 weeks. I think 6lb is ok in term of weight gain. I am not the best person to say though as I have been so ill not put any weight on yet really. Just my every expanding middle! The most annoying thing about getting a bump is those people that feel the need to touch my tummy. What normally goes through my head when they do is something along the lines of "WTF, get out of my space and stop touching me. I am not public property!! How would you like it if I started poking you gut? Now FUCK OFF?" It won't be long before I actually say that out loud or een start poking them in the gut when they touch me! See how that goes down! ha ha ha Good luck with the scan.

Nothing much else to update you on ladies. Other than hoping you are all well today and looking forward to a fantastic weekend. Can't remember who asked but I finally start working with the dress maker next Friday to design and make my wedding dress. Not long till I get hitched (23 September)?. What a busy year move house in December 2012, mc carry our little one February 2013 , get the brilliant BFP for our little girl in May, getting married in September and then having a baby in January 2013?.. Nothing like waiting till I am 37 to do everything at once!!! ha ha ha ha ha ha?..

Oh yea, we fell for the expensive pram too. But well worth it I think!

LittlePeaPod · 02/08/2013 12:10

Opps double post!! I am an idiot!

MrsVDB · 02/08/2013 14:10

toby that's what I thought. When I use the Doppler it's still very low. Much lower than these feelings

Bluecarrot · 02/08/2013 14:14

Glad everyone's mostly feeling good, if a bit rage-y!

I have already got a birth plan written cause I like making lists! As I hope to go for hypno birthing I want to have anything that's important to me written down so mw and dp can refer to it instead of getting me out of what will hopefully be a blissful trance like state! ( a girl can dream!)

I also have hospital bag lists done ( and an emergency overnight one packed and ready since I've had a few bleeds) < strokes lists lovingly>

MrsVDB · 02/08/2013 14:29

wow blue I'm impressed!!

Penny31 · 02/08/2013 14:32

I love lists but that is impressive Blue!

Havent thought of a birth plan yet and havent packed a bag. I do however have a list for hospital bag contents and a long list of things I need to buy for baby :-) It helps when I fancy a break from work!

enjoyingscience · 02/08/2013 14:32

Wow blue, you're organised!

My birth plan will mainly be the words 'leave me alone' written in big red pen. I may get a t-shirt printed, actually. Grin

TobyLerone · 02/08/2013 14:33

:o enjoying

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 02/08/2013 15:06

blue blimey, missus! I haven't even thought about hospital bags. But then, I hadn't even thought about prams until last weekend, and still only own the following:

1 pair dragon 'playjamas', age 6-9 months (unbelievably cute, slightly impractical)
1 short sleeved sleepsuit, age 6-9 months, which was on offer and lovely and gender neutral without being dull.

Nothing else.

enjoying that sounds like an excellent birth plan. Mine will be 'if you tell me I said I didn't want that on the birth plan, I will hit you. Give it to me now'.

Sultanajo · 02/08/2013 15:37

pod that cracked me up!

blue thats super organised!

penny ekkkk for Monday! So exciting!!! I just went for a swim and then had half a grapefruit so feeling proactive in my battle against excess weight! I really like swimming too because it makes me very aware of my bump, which is definitely bigger than a week ago when I went! Grin

Hi everyone, can't keep up with you lot! :)

Aw puppy cuddles nature that sounds lovely. Cute as they are I don't think I could handle one right now. Looked after BIL's puppy overnight once, she and dd1 alternated wakings, crying throughout the night. I ended up passed out with my hand over the side of the bed so that the puppy could smell me.

Congratulations pod on your girl (I have two they are great!). Not so great about your HG, hope that clears off soon. I had an anterior placenta with dd2 and felt kicks a lot later, like you say around the 21 week mark.

Good luck for your scan Penny and don't worry about the size of your bump, I am 14 weeks and already have a bump because my abs are shot after two pregnancies and two CS.

Super-organised Blue! I do have my birth plan from dd2, which I will just re-jig a little and then print. Hospital bag won't get sorted for a while yet, half the stuff you pack you don't end up bloody using anyway! Key things to pack are snacks, snacks, snacks and more snacks, oh and breast feeding nighties/tops for pyjamas, maternity pads, big knickers and a towel.

A swim sounds lovely sultana, I only need to convince dd2 that she doesn't need to breast feed at bedtime and I can go.

Still suffering with headaches here, but can't really rest as dd1 (4 years) doesn't nap like dd2. I try to convince her to lie down with me, but she talks non-stop so it doesn't help really.

Percypiglet · 02/08/2013 17:46

Hello, my bump seems to have appeared today, at 15wks +6...Someone at work today said "you're getting a bit of a tum" so it is apparently obvious to people now. Do feel it looks a bit big for 16 weeks but I guess it's different for everyone. And as I am slim there's nowhere for the bump to hide. Plus, my stomach muscles were good in my 20s but at 33 they seem to have given up already!

Hope all of you are well. Enjoy the weekend....

Sultanajo · 02/08/2013 17:50

another I can just imagine u trying to get some peace with a 4 yr old chatterbox beside you!,Grin

The swim really chilled me out - going to try and make sure I go several times a week while I can. Once bubs comes along it will be splashing about in the baby pool for a while....shame I couldnt attach it to my back like a shark fin and keep swimming lengths!,Wink

Frizz1986 · 02/08/2013 19:50

Oops. I am 17 weeks today and have already put on about 10-12lbs. Not really concerned tho as I was too tiny before getting pg (5ft 8 and 9st 10ish) so i could do with putting on some weight. Def solidness to my belly half way between pelvic bone and belly button so bubs is starting to make an appearance.
I def think i might be feeling something. Very much like popcorn low down in my belly. I almost can't tell it's happening.
Off to see parents today, currently sat in the back seat with the pooch while Dh drives. Will be great to see everyone including my 3 yr old nephew.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Bikey86 · 02/08/2013 21:45

Percy...I am also 15+6 today and woke up yesterday with a bump!! And I'm 26 with relatively good stomach muscles...or so I thought!! Its quite a cute but definate bump.

Had 16w app with MW yesterday. All went well but they don't listen to the HB as standard practice in our trust. I wasn't to bothered though. Looking forward to 20w scan in september!

Toothfairy78 · 02/08/2013 22:21

Evenin' ladies,
Looks like we've been busy pushchair ogling and raging today?

Well, I am pleased to announce the search for maternity wear is over, for I am fully kitted up! Scored myself some M&P jeans for £9 and a very reduced M&P top for £17. Plus New Look yielded linen trousers (yay coolness!), plus a bubble hem top for £16. Not bad for an evening at Westfield Shepherds Bush. No more faffing about finding clothes for me!!!

And DH bought his first thing for Jr today, a cow print sleep suit! Very sweet it is too!

Roll on proper baby shopping!

SarahJayne321 · 02/08/2013 22:45

MrsV could well be movement, hopefully in will get stronger! I'm just shy of 18 weeks, started feeling flutters a week or so ago, and had some proper thuds recently, a few that I've felt from the outside! Cue frantic worried googling as it seemed far too early!

MrsVDB · 03/08/2013 07:06

Morning all, a while ago someone posted a link to an amazing video about how your body changes, maybe it was enjoying ? Could someone repost it please as I've lost the link. Thanks :)

TobyLerone · 03/08/2013 07:14

Morning :)

I don't want to be awake now! We're going to see Book of Mormon this afternoon and I know I'll fall asleep halfway through because I woke up at 6.30.
My lovely DH even bought matinée tickets specifically because of how tired I might be. But he bought them 6 weeks ago and we'd both expected the tiredness to have passed by now.

No idea what to wear, either. Is it going to be cooler today?

MrsVDB · 03/08/2013 07:17

toby I think your in London? If so highs of 24. I'd opt for maxi dress if I was you and take a cardi

MrsVDB · 03/08/2013 07:20

Sorry for so maby posts but casabu is selling some cute felt slippers in different animals today. Think they're too big for babies but others might want to look?
