Lie = Your glowing vs Truth = Your sweating, freezing, puking and an emotional basket!

Lie = After the first trimester your ms will disappear vs The truth = It will be there in the second trimester and the third..... and probably after you give birth! Get used to it!

Lie = You don't look even look pregnant vs The truth = whatever, you look pregnant from space!

Lets see what we learn from the second trimester! Grin Wink

Apparently I am in West Yorkshire. Which hospital is it? I got my letter really quickly following MW appointment?

MrABC congratulations and welcoe to you and yòur DW.

Airedale (which is outside Skipton). How about you, LittlePea?

Pidgy · 02/07/2013 16:17

Thanks MrsGSR for the reassurance. Everything I read on the web says recovery is quick from keyhole.

Humpty hope you're feeling less worried. It's such a worrying time anyway.

Headaches!! Yes, keep getting them but not as bad as with my first pregnancy. I'm not sure if a) I'm drinking enough (too much liquid makes me feel sick!) or b) if its lack if caffeine. I'm sure this was to blame first time around as I pretty much went from 10 cups of tea to 2. I've never really gone back and now often don't have any.

Hmmm...maybe this is why I'm so knackered!!! I'm signed off work because of the op and have at least 1 nap a day!

The good thing is ladies, we'll soon forget feeling shit! I think the brain has a clever way of remembering just the good stuff! Why would we put ourselves through this again and again?!

TobyLerone · 02/07/2013 16:30

Bitchface has now been demoted to BitOfABitchFace. Or maybe HadACoupleOfBadDaysFace. She was perfectly nice today. She's just called me back. Scan is tomorrow at 12! :o

farmersdaughter · 02/07/2013 16:35

Whoop whoop Toby, brilliant.

She's still a bitch through Grin x

Naturegirl82 · 02/07/2013 16:36

Yay Toby that's excellent news Smile

enormouse · 02/07/2013 16:42

Good for you Toby! Good luck for your scan x. Smile

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 02/07/2013 16:46

MrABC hello! Of course we can have a chap here too! You might get a bit shocked though at some of the TMI...

Toby that's ACE news, hurrah!

Nature you may have my grip now - I don't need it anymore Grin Grin Grin

Scan was ACE! Sonographer and another (student?) lady were so lovely and kind, bean was wriggly and wiggly and dancing, NT measurement was 2.0, which she wasn't worried by, and I'm now a week ahead - 13+4, not 12+4, so EDD is 3 Jan 2014!
I cried (obviously), then had to go and wee - apparently my bladder was 'huge' (I took the 'full bladder' instruction seriously). We had about 10 mins watching bean dance about (stretching out legs in a Flashdance stylee, waving arms above head like a raver) and now I'm back at pooey old work wishing I could go and have another scan immediately Grin. Have put my scan pic on my profile - quite surprised how clear it is!

TobyLerone · 02/07/2013 16:57

Thanks all. Bit nervous now, oddly.

Great news, Humpty :) Your profile is still private, though.

I hope they don't move me forward or I'll be too late for the NT measurement Confused

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 02/07/2013 16:59

toby you'll be fine - you've had a private scan already, haven't you?
Profile now public.

TobyLerone · 02/07/2013 17:05

I've had 3 scans already :o Not for a few weeks, though.

That's a great picture!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 02/07/2013 17:10

Thanks toby I quite like it too...

No scans for a couple of weeks - you are deprived, woman. You probably need to buy yourself a present to make up for it.

BookTart · 02/07/2013 17:12

Good news toby! If you're having the blood test as well then be prepared for a bit of a queue. I was there for more than an hour, and got all panicky because my car park ticket nearly ran out. Hope it all goes well :)

And hello mrabc!

TobyLerone · 02/07/2013 17:21

Yep, I've got to have the usual bloods done and also a repeat of the sickle cell anaemia one, as that showed up some unusual markers when I had it done the first time. I obviously don't have sickle cell anaemia (I'd know if I did, I'm sure!), and they don't need DH to be tested, so they can't think I'm a carrier, but there was something odd about it so my MW wants it done again. Thanks for the warning. I'll take my kindle.

:o Humpty. If all goes well tomorrow, I'll finally be buying some clothes! I'll also be starting to look for a new car. So I think I'll be buying quite a lot of 'presents'.

Sultanajo · 02/07/2013 18:03

mrabc welcome!

Toby! woop woop! Thats awesome! Will be thinking of u tomorrow! Try not to slap bitchface if u see her! Grin

humpty yeay! Loving the flashdance wriggling descriptions! Grin So pleased for you! And.....relax! Grin

Well after vomming up my little chef lunch in their toilets two mins after eating it and then feeling miffed at still having to pay for it (Grin ) I am now making an apple crumble. Hoping I fancy it when it is finished and manage to keep it down....

TobyLerone · 02/07/2013 18:06

To be fair, sultana, I wouldn't mind betting that you're not the first to throw up Little Chef food on the premises :o

Sultanajo · 02/07/2013 18:11

That cracked me up toby! It was desperate times - had been driving non stop for 3 hours and was starting to hallucinate I was so hungry! Think the speed I ate it started the feeling and then the toilet air freshener meant there was no turning back! My god it was so strong I could smell it down the corridor before I even got to the toilets, which is when the heaving started! Blush Felt like everyone was looking at me when I came out....Blush Blush Blush

Frizz1986 · 02/07/2013 18:13

Yay humpty on the scan. And Yay for toby for tomorrow. At least you don't have time to wait around for it. Nice to just know it's so soon.
Got my fx crossed for everyone still waiting for scans.
I was lucky and got a clear photo too but bean put it's hand on its face so it looks like pinicchio lol.
Soon enough everyone will have had scans and it'll be onto the next freak out!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 02/07/2013 18:34

sultana you poor love. Little Chef vomming is a low point. At least it can't get much worse Grin.
Feel better.
frizz bean is sucking thumb in mine, so also Pinocchio-flavoured!

Thank you ladies - I am off to go and be excited with DH, and possibly make a list of things to shop for Grin.
Oh, and off on hols tomorrow, so if I don't come back on for a week, you'll know why.

Sultanajo · 02/07/2013 18:41

It was indeed a new low, but at least I didnt worry about making a mess as it was so minging in there as it was! Grin

Ohhh, where are u going on hols with a massive grin on your face ? Is it u off to France?

TobyLerone · 02/07/2013 18:43

Have fun, Humpty Envy

Frogcatcher · 02/07/2013 18:59

Well it turns out its not the midwife who are incompetent but the hospital who didn't receive lost the fax with the scan request. (Although who the f sends faxes nowadays outside of public sector I have no idea!) They had my booking in notes but had just sat on them for an inexplicable reason. Anyway I was promised by midwife that someone from scan dept would phone me today or tmrw. Midwife forgot to ask about blood test results though Angry

I am seriously considering a home birth if I can convince DP. I met with a school friend who had one on Sun & she had a 6h labour with just gas & air. Will also do a hypno birthing class. Am I mad?

Sultanajo · 02/07/2013 19:08

Well thats progress frog. At least u r getting some answers!

A friend of mine had a 5 hour home birth and swears by them. I fantasised the other day about having one, but I think I am too worried of complications and also lack of pain relief.... I havent completely ruled it out....but....ekkk....! Grin

MrABC · 02/07/2013 19:11

toby I'm sure the hospital will be fine but thank you for the reassurance. Good to know you've never had problems before. And congrats on getting your date sorted!! So exciting.

DW has been told the 'system' should be sorted by Friday but we'll wait and see. I'll try not to go on about it again until then. Just getting impatient now and want to know all is well.

Humpty book sultana Thanks for all the welcomes! Lovely to be here.

Naturegirl82 · 02/07/2013 19:40

Welcome mrabc

Congratulations on the scan humpty, so pleased you had a good one. And have a lovely holiday.

I'm feeling a bit better. Got some stretchy pain so taking that as a good sign.

I've been reading through the day but can't remember anything everyone has said! Blush
