Lie = Your glowing vs Truth = Your sweating, freezing, puking and an emotional basket!

Lie = After the first trimester your ms will disappear vs The truth = It will be there in the second trimester and the third..... and probably after you give birth! Get used to it!

Lie = You don't look even look pregnant vs The truth = whatever, you look pregnant from space!

Lets see what we learn from the second trimester! Grin Wink

Ah ok. I tend to drink 2-3 very weak squashes and end the day with a few glasses of water....

MrsAVB · 16/07/2013 10:27

Good luck penny!
sultana glad it went well and you got to hear the heartbeat! Did they ask anything new/ interesting?
X

keskiviikko · 16/07/2013 10:28

Bugsy have you had chicken pox yourself? If you have no real need to worry. And as long as you have good hygeine you should be fine.

MrsVDB · 16/07/2013 10:32

Just had my scan and I'm another one who's had dates moved forward! 12 weeks 6 days now so 2nd trimester tomorrow yeay! Baby was sucking its hand ha ha. Nt measurement of 1.4mm so hopefully that's all fine too. Got 21 week scan booked in now too. What happens at the 16 week scan?

Sultanajo · 16/07/2013 10:40

Yeay mrsv thats fab! How cute it was sucking its hand! mrsavb nothing exciting apart from hearing the heartbeat. They tested my urine for the first time, checked my blood pressure and said it was a bit low but thats normal as it dips in the middle of pregnancy. She also said they dont bother monitoring weight any more as everyone is different - they go more on checking fundal height and they will start measuring my abdomen from 28 weeks. She also said the top of the abdomen bloating is due to everything being pushed up by the uterus and I would be given my mat b1 form at the next mw appointment. Grin

Hello everyone,
Not been on for a while so not caught up with thread but I thought I'd just share our story so far.
The NTT was 3.6mm on dating scan with 1 in 100 risk of chromosomal abnormality. We've just been to Leeds for CVS today (14+2) Sad but they said they'll have the result tomorrow afternoon, so we will know for sure if pip is ok.
Hope you are all well. will post back tomorrow to tell you the outcome of ,CVS.

Sultanajo · 16/07/2013 11:19

love glad they managed to do the cvs today and you dont have to wait too long for the results. How are you feeling?

Mythreeknights · 16/07/2013 11:36

All the best of luck with the results Lovelilles, thinking of you and fingers x.

lovelilies · 16/07/2013 11:50

Feel crap TBH.
Hopeful. that baby is ok, if not then....... what?
Terminate? DP and I have discussed it at length. Long term care, quality of life etc etc.
But I honestly don't think I could kill my baby. Which is what it boils down to.
I need to stop tying myself in knots and wait for the result tomorrow. Thank goodness we don't have weeks to wait.

MrsVDB · 16/07/2013 12:11

love it must be really tough and I agree that you can't really make that decision until you know the outcome. My fingers are crossed for you

keskiviikko · 16/07/2013 12:52

Love I'm in the same position as you, but they haven't been able to do a cvs on me bevause of my 'raised bmi'! I have an amnio done this afternoon. My risk is 1 in 5, or as my husband puts it worse adds than russian roulette! You will make the decision that is right for you. I hope you get a good result.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 16/07/2013 12:52

love you poor thing, how scary.
All i can offer, and it's not personal experience, is so many threads on here which I terrified myself with read before my NT scan - loads of measurements as high as yours, or higher, and the CVS or amnio came back clear. I also have a very dear friend who has a beautiful daughter with DS, I'm sure she won't mind me linking to her blog here which is pretty inspirational, in case things work out that direction for you.

Still having the slightly 'off' stomach feeling - feeling full after a few bites sometimes (not every meal), slight pains etc. Going to ask MW on Fri. Did everyone have to take pee samples with them to 16wk appt? I don't have a sample pot...

Frizz1986 · 16/07/2013 13:14

Sorry to those worrying about the nt scans and results etc. It's gotta be tough but am sure all will be fine.

Great news about some more scans and the first of the 16 week midwife apps.
Mine is 2 weeks tomorrow and Dh is gonna come so he can hear the heartbeat as he missed the 12 week scan. Am already petrified that they won't be able to find it, even tho I know it must be really uncommon for something to go wrong. I guess we all feel it, with us all just caring so much for what we are growing inside us.

Am glad other people have had loose stools. I have had them for the past few weeks. Think it's my diet though as I only go once in a morning (sorry tmi) and it's loose but don't need to go til the next day. I used to be like this a long time ago and guessed it was all diet related so am trying not to be worried about it. Should I mention it at 16 week app? Am hoping once I start eating properly again (and not snacks and rubbish) my bowels will return to normal.
I've also heard that some preg vits have things in to help with constipation as it's so common so wonder if that's making things looser (am on pregnacare)

Hope everyone's tests come back ok and good luck for all the apps and any more scans!

Sultanajo · 16/07/2013 13:16

love & keski very much thinking of you both and sending you positive vibes....

humpty I am the same and forgot to mention to the mw. I was starving so cooked some pasta and after not even half I started to feel full and now it feels as though its sitting in my throat with super heartburn! Gonna try a caesar salad tonight and hope for better results!

Sultanajo · 16/07/2013 13:19

frizz I am on pregnacare too. I have had a mix of constipation and the opposite, plus some normal since my bfp and my mate who normally suffers with constipation when she isnt pregnant went totally the other way when she was preggers so am not too worried...Grin

MrsAVB · 16/07/2013 13:24

love and kes thinking of you both xxx
I was talking to a friend yesterday who had a 1 in 7 DS risk. She has the amnio very late due to hospital bungles but all was ok. She said she had been told that an MC v close to conception could have affected the levels in her blood test which was likely in her case to have affected the result. Not sure if that is helpful or not... But FX for you both xxx

MrsVDB · 16/07/2013 13:26

sultana and humpty I'm the same in that I can't eat full meals, but I'm ok with snacks. Means I'm losing about a lb a week which isn't a bad thing at this stage. I'm not too worried

lovelilies · 16/07/2013 13:50

keksi I'm sorry you're going through this as well. When will you get your results?
I have thought a lot about what to do if baby does have ds...
And I have come to the conclusion that I won't terminate. There are so many families out there with children with ds, and obviously they face some difficulties, but so do parents of children without any disability. my main worry was more the other chromosomal abnormalities, Patau and Edwards, but we'll cross that bridge as and when it may present itself.
I don't think there is ever a right or wrong decision when it comes to this, each case has ti be looked at individually and the parents decide what outcome they think will be the best for their whole family.

I hope your taking it easy for now keksi I have been signed off work for a week by GP as too much of an emotional wreck to be looking after other people, especially pg ones and ladies having mcs.

On a lighter note, I have been alternating between constipation and loose stools too! Shock Seems to build up for a few days then comes all at once! Sorry for tim Grin

lovelilies · 16/07/2013 13:51

Thankyou everyone for your crossed fingers and hand holding, it helps as cant face tellin anyone in RL except my DP and mum x

Spacefrog35 · 16/07/2013 14:20

Hi ladies. I hope you don't mind me joining you, I've been lurking for a while. I'm due 18th Jan and have had a fairly rough time of it with very scary bleeding and nasty nausea. Really hoped I'd be turning over a new leaf now we've made it to 13 weeks but have spent the last 24 hrs with awful D & V couldn't even keep water down. Feeling a bit better today but so tired. I'm supposed to be moving house this week so have the week off work but poor DH is having to do it all on his own as I just can't summon the energy.
Feel awful whinging when some of you are having such very difficult times but feeling so fed up of it all & I was sure you wouldn't mind me having a bit of a vent.

I hope everyone gets the news they're hoping for.

Thanks for listening x

MrsVDB · 16/07/2013 15:02

Just checked maternity policy and its getting extended by 2 weeks for anyone due match onwards. Bummer

MrsVDB · 16/07/2013 15:16

It would also include my London allowance (£3.5k)in the gross salary calculation after march. Double bummer. Also if I was 2 months earlier my annual bonus would be included in calculation. Now that one is a mega bummer!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 16/07/2013 15:23

love that's brave & I hope you don't have to make that decision come tomorrow. But if you do, I will say - I was v cynical about my friend's baby, thought that DS meant she'd struggle and not have a good life. I am so wrong. Her daughter is ace, and happy, and has weathered some health issues (linked to DS) like a dream - she posted on Fb the other day, a picture of a DS toddler jumping for joy, with the caption 'I'm the child my parents never knew they wanted', which made me weep a bit - she absolutely is that. Anyway, enough until we know.
keski massive handhold for the amnio and so hope you get good results. All I said to love was aimed at you too!

MrsV and Sultana it's like having a gastric band! I had six pieces of ravioli for lunch, with spinach and ricotta filling. Now STUFFED. I would usually have had pudding - not a chance!

Has anyone heard from Toby recently? Is she on holiday?

Also, over lunch, I had huge squirmy baby cuddles - met a friend with a daughter who's seven months. She is so gorgeous, I am getting even more broody - is that possible?

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 16/07/2013 15:24

MrsVDB BASTARDS. Oh well, I will probably take longer than a year (don't intend coming back to this job), so hum ho. Still. No fair.

MrsVDB · 16/07/2013 15:58

humpty I agree! It's 2 weeks extra paid which is what's rubbish! How will we live on £136 a week?! I earn more than that a day at the moment. Think I need to get saving
