Lie = Your glowing vs Truth = Your sweating, freezing, puking and an emotional basket!

Lie = After the first trimester your ms will disappear vs The truth = It will be there in the second trimester and the third..... and probably after you give birth! Get used to it!

Lie = You don't look even look pregnant vs The truth = whatever, you look pregnant from space!

Lets see what we learn from the second trimester! Grin Wink

bugsy phew, not just me. Not awful at all, and not all the time, just a bit disconcerting. Like (I imagine) IBS would be, a bit.

bugsyburge · 15/07/2013 13:26

yeah it's a weird discomfort that makes me feel a bit icky, almost like nervous butterflies!!!

keskiviikko · 15/07/2013 13:27

Humpty and Bugsy, I think it's the heat! I've been a bit loose! So has the dog Confused But to be honest it's better than constipation! I had ligament pains over the weekend, but they seem to have died down. note to self: do not wince and grab belly infront of hubby. He worries!
Hopefully having my amniocentisis tomorrow, as long as they don't decide that I'm too fat for that. But as I've lost 2kg and still fit in my size 16 jeans I may tell them where to stuff it.

Sultanajo · 15/07/2013 13:59

Humpty I too have been like that the last couple of days - had a bit of cramping the last few days - just mild. This morning sharp like pains - not constantly and not horrendous, just now and again, but noticable.... I can't decide if it's because things are a bit loose or whether it's uterus stretching or a bit of both - am 16+3....

Blue glad your DP isn't all bad - really hope he starts to pull it out of the bag!

MrsGSR very best of luck for today!!!

Keski really hope you get the amnio tomorrow! Will keep everything crossed for you!

Frying poor you and your DS. At least it's nothing serious/Chicken Pox. Don't worry about "bothering" your GP - it's what they are there for. Really annoys me when they make you feel like that! Grrrr! Hopefully he will sleep well again tonight for both your sakes...

Tarka woop woop second trimester!!!

Enormouse not surprised you are hacked off. As you say, if you were in the centre of town you would expect that more and be able to accept it more. Very frustrating for you!!!

Work sucks at the moment - feeling really disgruntled and out of control with the ridiculous workload, especially while trying to get everything up together so I can train someone to take over and have a smooth handover! That is all! Sad Come on mat leave - 4 months and counting!!!

Sultanajo · 15/07/2013 14:02

Oh, nausea seems to be coming back too! WTF!!! It's not nearly as bad as it was, but the last couple of days it has been lingering - particularly when I haven't eaten for a while. How frickin dare it try and come back! Bugger off!!!!

Midwife tomorrow, so hopefully will get to hear little monkey's heartbeat! Must not forget to take my pee sample and my notes!!! I bet I pee and then realise I should have collected it! Doh! Wink DH is coming with me - I told him he would probably be bored apart from hearing the heartbeat, but he decided he wanted to, so am not gonna stop him.... He can be really cute sometimes!

Bluecarrot · 15/07/2013 14:36

Could nausea be related to heat? Are you drinking plenty of water and making full use of the excuse to eat ice lollies?

Our bedroom was 32c with windows open and it made me puke. Felt fine after being downstairs ( where it was only 20c)

MrsGSR · 15/07/2013 15:07

The scan went really well! Baby was not being cooperative, I kept having to change positions to try and get her to stretch out! Measured at 13+5 (which is what I am by LMP) although I think I'm about 13+2, but as a few others on here have measured big I'm not worried! NT was 1.8mm.

I've been a bit 'loose' and the nausea is beginning to return, which I think is down to the stupid heat! I decided to walk the 3 miles home from the hospital, and massively regretted it as it is so hot and horrible out side! I'm not moving from the sofa for the rest of the day!

Sultanajo · 15/07/2013 15:09

Blue I am wondering that. I got soooo hot yesterday working - had such a red face! Am trying to force myself to drink as much as possible, but I never feel quenched at the moment. I have the fan on me full pelt today and am feeling cooler than yesterday - gonna try and go for a swim later so hopefully I will feel better after that....

Sultanajo · 15/07/2013 15:11

Yeay MrsGSR that's awesome! Naughty little monkey - was probably boiling and trying to stay still! Grin. I too suddenly had my dates brought forward - am not worried.... Can't believe you walked home so far in the heat - crazy chick!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 15/07/2013 15:33

Yay MrsGSR for lovely scans! And yay for wiggliness, even if it is a bit naughty. You are mad to walk home though. Rest up.
So glad I am not the only feeling not up to par. bugsy yours sounds like it could be first movements? Butterflies is one of the descriptions I've seen a lot?
sultana I don't feel quenched either in this heat. Usually a fizzy drink helps, but not today. I have such a headache as well. May go home early.

Sultanajo · 15/07/2013 16:24

Humpty I have had headaches the last couple of days - am sure it's probably due to not getting enough to drink. However, I drank and peed tons yesterday - not had as much today but ironically no headache so far....that will probably hit me tomorrow if I don't buck my ideas up! Just had an ice lolly though... Stupid heat! Getting bored of it now!

Toothfairy78 · 15/07/2013 18:50

Evenin' all,

Gosh, so it's not just me that's a bit loose then?

Mind you I'm drinking around 5+ pints of weak squash a day and still thirsty! Not peeing a huge amount either.

Still like keski said it's better than the opposite!

Also don't seem to be sweating as much as I should in this heat? What's that all about?

blue sounds like you made a breakthrough. have you thought of doing an instruction card for each chore and just pinning ones for each day on the fridge for DP to pick up?

enormouse · 15/07/2013 19:44

Sounds like you had a great scan MrsGSR. And congrats to everyone else who had lovely scans

blue he doesn't sound too bad, just forgetful/lazy like my DP (and most DPs generally). And thanks for summing up the 12th, I felt really thick for not understanding or being able to be enthusiastic about it. There's a marching season?

sultanajo, humpty and all the other ladies suffering with the heat, all I can offer is a big fat 'me too'. Just gotta keep hydrated and do as little as possible. tooth I guess it means your body's just needing all that water. I'm craving lots of dairy and really want frozen yoghurt and chocolate nesquik, I keep eating bowls of rice crispies just for the milk. it's quite odd for me as I'm not a milk fan.

Fingers crossed for your amino keski

Well there is yet another village shindig, today. A ye olde fair type thing, right in front of my house complete with full Irish band (from 9-5). Which would have been ok had they asked permission whether the residents were ok with having to move their cars, having the road closed all day, having their houses stared into etc. The organisers stuck signs on the houses (sort of listed property, Mr x lived here) type things - mine said olde rustic bar. So I had people peering into my house like it was an exhibit, shocked to discover people actually lived in it. Completely bizarre experience. Ds and I had to seek refuge at DPs parents.

enjoyingscience · 15/07/2013 19:50

God enormouse that sounds surreal. You poor thing!

Haven't had time to read the thread, but hope everyone is keeping well.

flowersfortea · 15/07/2013 19:54

Hi everyone, just checking whilst trying to cool off, it's hot hot hot here too in the Midlands!
Finally had a scan date (woo!) but can't make it this week so have rebooked for Monday.... By dates I"ll be 15 weeks by then but I think probably more like 14, as long as baby is fine I don't mind if it's not in time for NT screening. Now I have a date I feel more relaxed about it although I'm sure there's plenty of time for nerves to resurface.

Bluecarrot · 15/07/2013 21:51

Sultana having the fan on you could also dehydrate you! Plus apparently if you feel even slightly thirsty you are already quite dehydrated. I must be permanently dehydrated :/

I was making fruit teas and drinking them iced as a change to water but they need sugar added so not having too often.

Careful with excess squash too - esp "no added sugar" ones!

Enormouse that does not sound like fun! Ive lived in NI all my life and never been that close to the action!

qumquat · 15/07/2013 22:23

Hello! Just popping in to say hi and glad to see everyone doing well. I'm 15 weeks now and still nauseous but haven't been sick for 3 days! Yay! Tiny bump but only visible when I'm naked and might just be dinner!

Feeling very fortunate in my dp, I've never had to tell him to do anything, he just does what needs to be done, thought this was normal before i came onto mn! What did the lazy dps do before they lived with you guys?!?

Bluecarrot · 15/07/2013 23:41

lol Qumquat - my DP worked a ft job plus several hours a day on the family farm. Hes not lazy... just not domesticated. I plan to have him on track in the next 5 months!

Sultanajo · 16/07/2013 07:50

flowers hurray for a scan date finally!!! Grin

qumq yay for not vomming in 3 days! Fingers crossed thats u on the way out the other side! Grin

blue fans can dehydrate you? Really? Sad oh man! Whats wrong with too much no added sugar squashes she asks trying not to panic while staring at the no added sugar squash bottle

Just peed in my pot ready for mw. Of course I am having the "will she find the heartbeat" wobbles! At this rate I am gonna cry if she finds it and rush off for a private scan if she doesnt! Didnt sleep well last night so thats probably making things worse! When will I relax and enjoy these appointments - I suspect never....

Will let u know what happens Grin

MrsAVB · 16/07/2013 08:52

sultana good luck with midwife! Let us know what happens... I have mine this week too.
My hotmilk bra arrived. It fits like a glove and is super comfy. DH seems to think the nursing clips are for his amusement though Hmm
Have a good day all xxx

Penny31 · 16/07/2013 09:44

Just popping in, been lurking for a while.

Pleased everyone seems to be feeling better. I really am loving the weather at the minute but its hard to keep hydrated!

sultana I have my midwife app in 15 mins eeeek! Good luck.

I'll be back to chat more later.

Stay cool!

Sultanajo · 16/07/2013 09:57

Thanks ladies! penny good luck for today!

Well all was fine - heard the heartbeat and the midwife said she could hear it moving around too which is awesome! 3.5 weeks til the 20 week scan - omg!! Grin

Interestingly when I mentioned my hip pain and sleeping on my side, she said she doesnt know where that study has come from and its fine to sleep in whatever position is comfortable. Well there is no smoke without fire so I am still gonna aim for the side most of the time. Still not met my actual midwife as this time she was on holiday! Hmm They assured me it should be her I see next time....Smile

bugsyburge · 16/07/2013 10:04

quick question ladies..... I sit next to.a woman at works who's son has got chicken pox, do u think this is a risk or am I being ott?

Sultanajo · 16/07/2013 10:10

I actually dont know bugsy. Can u call the Tommys pregnancy line and check with a midwife?

Bluecarrot · 16/07/2013 10:15

Check what sweetener your squash uses. Usually sugar is better for you than sweeteners! I do still drink it - 2 or 3 glasses a day but I haven't found a brand that doesn't make my mouth feel funny and kinda coated with something afterwards.
