Lie = Your glowing vs Truth = Your sweating, freezing, puking and an emotional basket!

Lie = After the first trimester your ms will disappear vs The truth = It will be there in the second trimester and the third..... and probably after you give birth! Get used to it!

Lie = You don't look even look pregnant vs The truth = whatever, you look pregnant from space!

Lets see what we learn from the second trimester! Grin Wink

im glad im not the only one that thinks they can feel movement. ive thought it for about 3 days now and only about an hour ago I was almost certain it was baby moving.really light flutters, deffinitely not gas.if I remember rightly with my 2nd I could feel her at about 16 weeks so I wouldn't be surprised if this was baby I was feeling as its my 3rd and im nearly 14 weeks now.

anyone else?

TarkaTheOtter · 11/07/2013 18:38

extra sounds like you are doing the best you can for your dp. He must be feeling horribly guilty about putting you through this. Hope the meds help things.

buffy I'm only 13 weeks but feel like I've felt a few flutters. I've had phantom kicks since I had dd though so it's probably just more of those.

Sultanajo · 11/07/2013 18:39

Frying that sounds lush! I love teal! Comfort is a MUST!!! I also look pregnant in the pink dress, but think that's because of how it sits over my bloat, which could be mistaken for a bump at the moment, particularly by the evening!!! When I yawn it actually hurts - as though my skin doesn't have enough room to expand enough to yawn as it's already expanded with bloat! Is that weird???

MrsAVB - ahhh, I will check out boots and see what I can find. I too find the thought of anything tight, like spanx, vommy! I can't stand them at the best of times.... I am not that organised - the date has changed several times - it was meant to be in July and has gradually moved to September, but at least now I have enough time to try and find something to go with it and flat shoes, without stressing last minute!!! You are really strong sending things back if not worn in a week! I let things fester on "just in case"..... terrible really! I need to take a leaf out of your book!!! Really sorry you are still vomming! That's just not fair! Has it eased at all?

Ecc I will do a trial run with the vaseline, but I suspect it won't be enough. I am actually also beginning to think I should try tights, because I NEVER get my legs out and when I do I forget how white they are!!! OMG! Am thinking tights may be the way forward!!! Shock

Sultanajo · 11/07/2013 18:42

OMG! Possible movements! That's soooo exciting! Nothing here - am 16 weeks tomorrow with number one, so expect it will be a few weeks yet, but am hoping it will be sooner as I am on tenderhooks!!! Got midwife next Tuesday so hopefully will get to hear the heartbeat.

Won't be too long before we can all feel little wriggles and will be complaining they are keeping us up all night! Teehee!

LittlePeaPod · 11/07/2013 19:41

Hi ladies

I have tried hard to catch up but I have forgotten everything I read... Blush. So congratulations for all those with scans and sorry to hear some if the worrying news. So exciting hear about people feeling movements...

15 weeks today and I feel nothing except pucky lol. MW has said I may not feel anything till at least 21 weeks because the baby's placenta is at the front...

Extra sorry to hear your news. I really hope you are as well as can be. My thoughts are with you both Flowers

Well house is slowly drying out. Getting quotes in for insurance.. Defiantly need a new floor and new wallpaper etc. room still stinks! DF has been great and his done all the clean up in there as I kept throwing up every time I went in.

OP posts:
Sultanajo · 11/07/2013 20:09

Aw bless your DF pod. How horrible and stinky! What a complete pain! I guess at least it happened now rather than when bubba is due, but it still majorly sucks!!! Sad

TobyLerone · 11/07/2013 20:14

I haven't received my Casabu order yet either. I ordered mine on 26th June and my email says up to 13 business days. That makes it Monday next week. It also says we'll get an email with shipping details.

Re movements -- nothing for certain yet (14+4) but a couple of suspicions. This is DC3, but I'm not sure how the fibroids affect feeling movements.

Have you got any further with wedding dress search, Pod?

Frizz1986 · 11/07/2013 20:19

extra so sorry that you having to deal with something so complex at this time. I know what its like from the other side and after being free from it (mostly) for about 3-4 years it feels almost like i was in a haze when i look back. There is little you can do other than look out for him be sympathetic towards what he is going through (which i am sure you are) Make sure you take care of yourself too. Talk to people so you are not alone in dealing with it.

I have not felt any movement yet. Am beyond excited and also nervous about it. Really not sure what it will feel like.

pod sorry it still smells. Hope you feel like you are slowly making progress though. Things always happen at the suckiest of times.

Congrats to all the good scans people.

Am v v annoyed with work. The girl who my boss wants to do my mat cover has said that she will only do it if she gets a pay rise (to more than what i earn) My boss doesnt know that I know what she has asked for but the girl told me as we are good friends at work. She knows it is more than i am on, but she thinks i dont get paid enough and is the sort of person to push for what she wants (her partner can provide for them both so she can take all sorts of risks unlike me)
Anyway she told my boss this today and i was expecting a flat out no as i am fully trained (she isnt), i have been doing the job for almost 2 years and i have been with the company almost 6 years so a lot of my wage is from annual salary increases from being there so long (she has only been back a year as she worked for us 2-3 years ago but only stayed a year that time before moving away)
Well from what i can gather it wasnt a flat out no. Firstly if she gets a pay rise i bloody well want more than she gets due to having done the job for so long and her not having been trained at all.
I have literally worked my butt off for my company over the past 5 years. I have always gone above and beyond what is expected of me, i go in early (no extra pay) to help make sure the rest of the team are on track with work and to help my boss and this is how i might get repaid. Plus she really doesnt need a pay rise whereas i really do after what we are currently going through with dhs job. And i see all the mistakes she makes doing my job and always clean up after the mess ups. Oh and another thing people have made several complaints to my boss about her attitude at work whereas i am a total uber friendly girl next door type so they would be rewarding someone who other people dont always enjoy dealing with as she is quite outspoken and can talk quite aggressively at people.
Dont get me wrong i do love this girl but i dont think she deserves a) my job or b) a pay rise
I know my boss might just be dragging out the 'no' so that the girl at least thinks they thought about it but i am beyond fuming and upset now as i really think it shows just how much they actually appreciate all the effort i have put in.
Sorry rant over, just needed to get it off my chest before i cry!

Sultanajo · 11/07/2013 20:26

frizz it always seems that those who shout the loudest get what they want, but those who quietly get on with things and work their asses off get overlooked! Am sure when u r on mat leave they will realise just how shit hot you are and how much u actually do and how smoothly things run when u r there! If she gets this pay rise it would be bang out of order if they dont give you one! Angry

LittlePeaPod · 11/07/2013 21:06

Sultanajo thank you and it majorly sucks but yes glad it was now and not in January... How are you and your little one doing?

Toby I have an appointment booked for the 10th. Found a lady in Cheshire that can design and make pregnancy wedding dresses... Thanks for asking.. Sorry to sound thick but what's Casabu?

Frizz. Thank you.. I had a couple emotional breakdowns... I am sorry to hear how upset you are about the work situation. Unfortunately it does seem to be the case that those that get on with it are overlooked and those http lay he politics/shout get what they want. It's shit!

carrotcakecupcake · 11/07/2013 21:06

sultana thanks for advice re: tankini, I hadn't considered the riding up issue. Instead I was thinking about how everytime I put my suit on I need a wee, and then another as soon as I get out of the pool!
enormouse I'd lost a notebook a work about 6 weeks ago in which I took some really important notes. I'd even had dreams about this notebook, thats how annoyed I was about loosing it. Then today, as I was telling someone that I'd lost it, I suddenly spotted it hidden on my bookshelf. I've seriously searched high and low around the two hotels I work for, as well as my car, and house!!

Sultanajo · 11/07/2013 21:47

pod we are doing ok thanks, although just had a hit of reality! I tried on the outfit I was going to wear tomorrow night for DHs mates leaving do, which I wore just 4 weeks ago and can barely get the trousers zip up, let alone the button! Wearing mat jeans or joggers around the house I havent noticed how much everything has grown in such a short period of time!!!!

Sultanajo · 11/07/2013 21:48

carrot I just pull the one piece to the side to pee....have it down to a fine art! What is it with swimming and needing to pee??? Grin

MrABC · 11/07/2013 22:00

Evening all...

DW and I hoping we can get some advice from those of you in the know. Finally got our scan date set, but not sure about the amount of water that needs to be held in before hand. Is 1.5 - 2 litres correct? Sounds like an awful lot! Any idea how far in advance this needs to be consumed?

fryingpantoface · 11/07/2013 22:07

Hi!

Here's the link to the dress, it's so comfy Very Dress and i'm 5'4" and it's the right length.

MrABC - I'd recommend drinking a pint of water about an hour before you go in, and drinking water from then on in from a bottle (I just drank a further 500ml) and I was needing to go, but not desperately.

When's the date?

Sultanajo · 11/07/2013 22:16

mrabc I too drank a pint an hour before and then continued to sip water while waiting to go in. I actually felt I overdid it as they kept saying how big my bladder was and I was bursting to go by the time I got called in. Congrats to you both on your scan date!

frying the dress is gorgeous! Looks really flattering!

Frizz1986 · 11/07/2013 22:22

mrabc i was told to drink 1.5 litres 1.5 hours before the scan

MrsAVB · 11/07/2013 22:22

frizz that's outrageous! If she does get the raise you should definitely speak to your boss about you having one too. I know it's difficult when you're going to be taking mat leave but it's really unfair. If she were a man, we would all be screaming sexism. And I would speak to your boss anyway if you have concerns about how well she's going to cover your leave.
toby I'm obviously not very good at counting days, or maybe it's just that they go slowly when you're pg. pod, casabu is a site with daily/ weekly deals on maternity/ baby stuff, they had a hotmilk lingerie sale a few weeks back. So sorry to hear about your leaky smelly house too. Thank heavens for lovely DPs!
sultana, yep stil vomming most days, although its much better than it was and I definitely have more energy now. But still on the meds.
mrabc, I think it depends where you are, the hospital we went to specified that you didn't need a full bladder; if it doesn't say in your letter, maybe look them up online. Your DW is probably the best judge of her bladder capacity though! And bear in mind you may have to wait at the hospital!
X

MrABC · 11/07/2013 22:41

That's great, thanks to you all. Good to get a general idea of how much to consume. A pint an hour before and then from a bottle sounds good and as you say, DW will know if she's reached capacity! We just didn't want to under/over do it. No letter with any info unfortunately as we had to keep chasing and the appointment was finally made over the telephone.

Date is tomorrow so we're getting nervous now. Smile

TobyLerone · 11/07/2013 22:47

A pint an hour before is plenty. When I went for mine, they were running over an hour late and were telling women just to go to the loo if they were too uncomfortable waiting.

Good luck tomorrow, MrA (and MrsABC, obv!)

frizz, rant away! Cuntpuffins.

carrotcakecupcake · 12/07/2013 06:47

sultanaSkills!!! I am so trying that next time, why it has never occured to me before I don't know!
MrA Perhaps check you need to go with a full bladder too. Like MrsAVB my hospital specified that I didn't need a full bladder, no point in being uncomfortable if you ( or Mra ABC!) needs to be!
Today I will mostly be looking after our pup who was spade yesterday and feeling v v sorry for herself. However, I can't help laughing as she keeps walking into things with her "cone head" collar, bless.

LittlePeaPod · 12/07/2013 06:50

Sultanajo I know what you mean. Yesterday I went to wear a work suit which fit before my holiday and I couldn't button the trouser. Used the hair band trick. Wink. Because. Am still sick I have lost weight but tummy is getting bigger. I can see bump at night as it grows through the day.

MrABC. Have had quite a few scans and hey told me to drink 1.5 litters. By the time I had the scans was bursting for the toilet. Grin. Good luc for today.

MrsAVB. Sympathise as I am still sick too.. So much for feeling better after 12-14 weeks,.. Ope you are keeping well

I just worked out we find out sex of the baby in three weeks time and will be half way through in 5 weeks. OMG it's really starting to move...

OP posts:
MrsAVB · 12/07/2013 08:34

Morning all!
pod vomming sucks. I thought it'd be over by now! Although I have noticed since we've been telling people they've said stuff like "oh I started feeling better at 16-17 weeks". Whereas everyone was saying 12 weeks before... Hmm
mr and mrs abc good luck for your scan today!
Have a good day all x

Sultanajo · 12/07/2013 08:50

mrsavb I have noticed that too. Most of my friends said they felt better around 16 weeks, which is the same for me. Am glad you at least have more energy and its better than it was.

Good luck mr&mrsabc today!

carrot. Once u pull to the side u will never looked back! Grin Aw, your poor little pup with sore tum and buster collar! What breed is she?

Sultanajo · 12/07/2013 08:53

pod it is beyond exciting now! Lets feel some wriggles! Grin
