Lie = Your glowing vs Truth = Your sweating, freezing, puking and an emotional basket!

Lie = After the first trimester your ms will disappear vs The truth = It will be there in the second trimester and the third..... and probably after you give birth! Get used to it!

Lie = You don't look even look pregnant vs The truth = whatever, you look pregnant from space!

Lets see what we learn from the second trimester! Grin Wink

They've given him stronger meds and have him booked in emergency MH at hospital this afternoon. I'm officially "watching" him (GP got me in this morning and said they're very concerned and he needs keeping an eye on). Gah it's just really difficult to know what to say or do and he just feels terribly terribly guilty so won't be honest with me about it.
Sorry bit of a downer today!

farmersdaughter · 11/07/2013 14:12

Oh extra, I am so sorry that you and DH are going through this.

What have you been advised by your MH team?

{hugs}

farmersdaughter · 11/07/2013 14:13

X post.

extracrunchy · 11/07/2013 14:13

Enormouse - same with DH, it's a very long term thing, but it's not been this bad before.

I'm wondering if a holiday (change of scene, sunshine, bit of a rest) might be good, but no idea if MH team are going to agree and it's a bit of a scary prospect being effectively responsible for him in another country for 2 weeks...

farmersdaughter · 11/07/2013 14:14

Hopefully things will be cleaner this afternoon after your hospital visit.

X

extracrunchy · 11/07/2013 14:23

Thanks farmers Smile

farmersdaughter · 11/07/2013 14:31

Cleaner doh clearly I meant....clearer x

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 11/07/2013 14:46

extra that's so hard, you poor love. My DH is bipolar, and I hate both the manic and the depressive phases. It's so hard to feel useless and helpless isn't it? I really feel for you. I hope the MH team can help a little. Massive hugs.

enormouse You are not alone. I have forgotten (remembered in time):
to book tickets for theatre (sister in a play), to take passport on holiday, people's names (many), and to make a friend's wedding cake (last one I have to do over this weekend coming. I have NO brain left. None.

keskiviikko · 11/07/2013 15:57

Extra, I hope he lifts soon, for both of you. Depression sucks and when you are in a hole it can be very hard to get out. I can only speak from the dark side as it's me that suffers, just be there for him at arms length. Hopefully they will sort his meds out and he'll be back to his usual self soon.

Sultanajo · 11/07/2013 16:54

Keski how unbelievably frustrating for you! Will keep everything crossed for you on Tuesday. Know what you mean about the toothbrush - it gets me everytime. I have had to deliberately try and remember lyrics to a song or something because I am OK when I don't think about it, but as soon as I do that's it! Perhaps try something like that if you can - perhaps work out a shopping list in your head - I also close my eyes so I can't see myself brushing my teeth in the mirror and as long as I keep my mind occupied I am usually OK - not always, but it's better than having a stand off with the toothbrush before I have even picked it up!!!

Extra that's really tough for both of you. He can't control what's happening to him and you must feel quite helpless sitting on the sidelines - but he will certainly appreciate you sticking by him and just being there for him, particularly when he starts to feel more like himself again. It's absolutely not your fault! Don't be thinking that.... Really glad you have an appointment for him this afternoon - such a worry!

*Enormouse" you and your festivals/disturbances! Is it time to move??? Loving the kindle being thoughtfully tidied away and I can just imagine your meltdown over the handbag!!! Grin Well if it makes you feel any better, today I managed to send an email meant for just a handful of people to the whole company! I was sooo grateful that I hadn't ranted in it like I was going to - could have been a whole lot worse than just looking a bit ditsy!!! Blush

curlywurlyllass · 11/07/2013 17:23

Kesk hope u feel better soon

Extra, thinking of you, my ex was the same a few yrs ago, so hope your dh can get the support he needs from mh and with you as his rock he can soon recover.

Enormous hope the festival isnt too noisy, its our highland games this weekend so it will b riotus saturday till monday :'(

Im sooooo skatterbrained too these days! The other night i pointed to the fridge and asked dp to get the dinner out the washing machine (when it was clearly cooking in the oven!)
Today i filled the kettle and tried to put it in the microwave! Just a few examples of my daily mistooks lol

MrsAVB · 11/07/2013 17:31

Lots of love extra and the rest of you dealing with MH issues, either your own or partners'. I have great admiration for you Flowers. My dad has had ongoing MH problems and (horribly selfishly, I know) it's the "but you're supposed to be my DAD" stuff that is upsetting. Extra Hope you are getting a chance to relax and have support from friends and family... Don't struggle by yourself, easy to say I know.
kes hope you are managing to switch off too, although must be hard under the circumstances. I agree with mouse, try and fill the weekend with fun stuff that will help the time pass quickly.
On a lighter note... Has anyone received their hotmilk order from casabu yet? I know it said 13 days or something but I'm sure it's been longer than that now.
X

Sultanajo · 11/07/2013 17:54

Well I braved it and ordered some little maternity shorts from Next Online (so that I can wear them under dresses to stop my thighs rubbing together) and some maternity PJ trousers.

Well...they arrived! The good news is the PJ trousers are amazing and actually really flattering - if only I could get away with wearing them out and about!!!

The bad news is the shorts....well, I thought they were made of thin stretchy material, almost like the same material as pants, so they wouldn't have shown under a dress. What they ACTUALLY are is hot, thick, stiff (sounds dirty...!) almost denim material, which gape at the back. They do fit apart from the gaping at the back, but not only would I swelter in them, they would be really noticeable under a dress and I am NOT going to wear them on their own as they are VERY short - not so short my ass would hang out, but only young girls with perfectly toned and tanned legs should wear them! Wink

Back to the drawing board then for something to wear under my pink flowery maternity dress I bought for a Christening in September. NOT something I would normally wear, hence having nothing to wear underneath, but being Godmother I thought I should make the effort. If I ever wear dresses (very rare) I choose dark colours and pair them with dark tights or leggings with boots. The only colour leggings that would go with this dress are white and that is NOT going to happen! The only other thing I could think of is skin coloured tights, but do they do those in maternity? Any suggestions ladies?

fryingpantoface · 11/07/2013 17:55

extra i'm so sorry it's all happening at the moment. We're here to vent to if needed! ((hugs))

Keski and Sultana it was the same for me, but i just bought a child's toothbrush (a lot smaller) and I don't gag at all now because of the brushing, would that help?

fryingpantoface · 11/07/2013 17:57

I just bought some cheap leggings and cut them down to size. That's what I've done for ages. Could you get some asda ones? The primark ones are no good. I just bought a bigger size, not the maternity ones

fryingpantoface · 11/07/2013 17:57

that's a lovely dress!

Sultanajo · 11/07/2013 17:58

Ooohhh Frying - hadn't thought of getting a smaller toothbrush. May well try that one.....

Sultanajo · 11/07/2013 17:58

Thanks Frying. Wish I was gonna look as good as the pretty skinny blonde girl!!!

BuffyFairy · 11/07/2013 17:59

Hi everyone,

Humpty, hope you had a good holiday.

Book, sorry to hear you got burgled, what shits some people are.

Tarka, great news on your scan.

Pod, poor you sorting out a burst pipe. What a nightmare.

Blue, so happy for you that baby looks fine on the scan.

Extra, that sounds really tough. Hope you have some support too.

I'm sure there's more I should say but my memory is like a sieve at the moment Grin

Yay for all the good scan results and feeling for those who are still feeling rubbish.

I swear I have a bump now, it seems to have popped in the last week. Sometimes I think I can feel the baby move. Those of you on your 2nd baby (or more) have you felt baby yet? Maybe it's just wind Blush

Our flat is going on the market this week so we can officially start house hunting! Not looking forward to keeping the place spotless for viewings. It's so hard with a toddler.

fryingpantoface · 11/07/2013 18:00

Don't we all :-)

I caved and bought a petite maxi dress from Very (in teal) and it's so lovely! I wear it with my cut off leggings underneath to stop the dreaded thigh rub, but it's so swishy and comfy. I also look pregnant, not fat, in it which is a plus

MrsAVB · 11/07/2013 18:06

sultana I think boots do maternity tights in skin-colours... Maybe only in bigger stores or online though. Also i've heard good things about mama spanx if the issue is thigh rubbage i think theyre quite long- although the thought of spanx and especially while pg makes me feel a bit sticky and queasy! But plenty of time til September - you are very organised!
My asos order arrived this week and I'm really pleased with it. 2 work skirts, a work dress and some black skinny trousers all for under £50 in their sale. I might not keep it all - i have a rule that if I haven't worn something in a week after buying it (unless its for a special occasion) it goes back.
Vomming I am COMMANDING you to cease! 11 weeks of vomming is too much... GRR!

MrsAVB · 11/07/2013 18:09

X posted... Tis a lovely dress sultana... Ooh more maternity sales Grin

eccentrica · 11/07/2013 18:11

Sultana if it's just the thighs rubbing, can I recommend using some light moisturiser or vaseline on the insides of your thighs - works great to stop any rubbing (I only get this while pregnant and in the summer!)

Then you could wear dress with bare legs?

Buffy I am on my second baby, am 15 weeks today and have felt no movement yet, not even a hint of it. However I didn't feel DD move until something ridiculous like 22 weeks so I'm not holding my breath!

In both pregnancies I've had an anterior placenta (at the front) which cushions the kicks, so you can't feel anything like as much movement. I wish this was different but at least the baby is healthy, it just means more check ups in the last trimester.

extra I am really sorry about your partner. My ex (who I was with for many years) suffered very badly with suicidal depression. I know how hard it is and wish you all the best. stay strong even if you don't feel it, try to enjoy whatever you can enjoy, the sun, a non alcoholic cocktail, music, anything you can. I hope things get better soon Flowers

enormouse · 11/07/2013 18:23

sultanajo I had no idea that the area around my house in rural northern Ireland would be more 'happening' and noisy than the flat I had in Camden. I find myself longing for my pokey little flat. We're planning on moving next year anyway so we just have to make the best of it. I, for one, am counting down the days weeks months.

fryingpan can you post a link to your maxi dress, please?
