Lie = Your glowing vs Truth = Your sweating, freezing, puking and an emotional basket!

Lie = After the first trimester your ms will disappear vs The truth = It will be there in the second trimester and the third..... and probably after you give birth! Get used to it!

Lie = You don't look even look pregnant vs The truth = whatever, you look pregnant from space!

Lets see what we learn from the second trimester! Grin Wink

How are things today, extra? Are you going on holiday?

LittlePeaPod · 12/07/2013 10:26

Sultanajo I can't wait to feel Chickpea move.... I am beyound excited.. I think it will feel more real and the sickness will be put into prospective. This is DF and I's first so I have no idea what to look out for.. Grin Just a little gutted as Chickepeas placenta is at the front so I have been told it may take me longer to feel him/her move.

Extra As per Toby, I hope you are as well as can be under the circumstances.

Yep we're going on holiday! All ok'd and hopefully a change of scene will be good.

Good luck to everyone with scans/waiting for news etc. See you in a couple of weeks!

LittlePeaPod · 12/07/2013 10:52

Extra I hope you have a lovely restful holiday...

Have a lovely time, extra. I hope it does you and DP the world of good.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 12/07/2013 11:21

sultana lovely dress. You can buy tights/leggings and cut off the leg parts? I do this normally in summer to prevent thigh rub. Grim.

MrsAVB sorry you are still vomming. I came close this morning - seem to have lost the nausea, mostly, but gained a gag reflex on a hair trigger! I also got my ASOS order, v pleased with the tops, but the dress is ENORMOUS. Seriously, it's vast. It's going back!

sultana no movements here (and I have been waiting for them!) at 15 weeks, I think that's usual. I can't wait! Bean was so wriggly on scan, SURELY I must be able to feel her by now (have started to refer to him/her on alternate days, so as not to confuse self when he/she comes out).

pod bless your DP. What a horrid thing to happen, though. Your poor house! Sorry you still feel vommy - when are you 16 weeks? Hopefully it will ease then!

MrABC good luck today - I too had to empty my bladder, as I took 'full' a bit too seriously...

carrot poor pup, but sensible in the long term.

extra I'm so glad you get a holiday, hurrah! I shall keep everything crossed that it makes life a bit more fun for you both, and that you and DP both get a chance to relax.

TobyLerone · 12/07/2013 11:31

YY to the gag reflex. Brushing my teeth is hard. I have to practically trick myself into spitting (which is the hardest part).
Other than that, I'm feeling great, so I have nothing to complain about :)

MrsAVB, I got my Casabu email today saying my items are on their way :o

BabyshamBambi456 · 12/07/2013 11:32

Hi everyone! Hope you're all doing well. After my NT post scan panic I got a phone call from the hospital on Monday. I was really scared as I know they generally phone if it's bad news, however it was just to check my birthday as they had written down two different dates. The Midwife then told me my DS risk was about 1 in 25,000 so I can move onto next thing to worry about Smile
We told DH's mum and dad when they came to see us on Wednesday night, they were over the moon and DML text me yesterday saying she'd already bought some clothes from Mothercare. I'm pleased they're so excited DH's older sister already has three and I thought his mum might not be so excited about our kids.

We're off on our holidays a week today! Just a trip to Devon but will be nice to relax and spend time together. I've got the midwife the week after, I think I will have to find out the sex at my 20 weeks scan as I'm convinced it's a boy!

TobyLerone · 12/07/2013 11:35

Excellent news, Babysham :) Have a lovely holiday!

On that note, the phone call with 'bad' news from the combined test would come within a week, wouldn't it?

SarahJayne321 · 12/07/2013 11:49

pod Sounds like such a palava, hope thinks are comeing along ok,

extra so happy you get your holiday, I can only imagine how difficult it is for a partner of someone suffering with depression. I've only experienced it first hand but I know it was very hard on my family!

babysham hopefully you can relax now and enjoy your pregnancy

On another note, I'm feeling fed up, really fucking fed up!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 12/07/2013 11:51

toby it's grim isn't it? I puked up breakfast IN THE SINK on holiday. Couldn't even get to the loo. I dread cleaning my teeth now. Something about spitting is so vile. Also if I cough, I gag.

babysham fab news, hurrah!

Yes, toby the 'bad' news call is within 5 working days (at our hospital). I had a heart attack on hols with a 'withheld number' call - was a salesman for PPI. I ripped his head off. We got the letter saying low risk when we got back, thank goodness.

BabyshamBambi456 · 12/07/2013 11:56

toby yes it would, I had the scan last Wednesday and the call was on Monday. Still waiting for the letter to confirm everything though.
extra thinking of you and your family, hope your holiday is the break you all need.
SarahJayne hugs! Fed up with everything or something in particular?

Pop2014 · 12/07/2013 11:58

Hope everyones doing well...

Congrats on good news all round and good luck to all with looming scans.

Extra, glad you still get to get away, hope you enjoy yourselves and get to relax.

Pod I too have anterior placenta, was a bit confused as didn't have it with dc1 and worried it will make the birth harder with baby the wrong way round Confused, but hey thats for six months away.

Hope everyone enjoys the weather, i think ill hibernate tomorrow too hot!

Have a good Friday allWink

TobyLerone · 12/07/2013 12:04

Ah, I didn't realise we got a letter too. I had my scan last Wednesday, so 9 days ago. I'd like to be able to...you know... breathe out and relax a bit.

Poor SarahJ :( Anything in particular?

What's everything doing with this lovely sunny weekend? I'm trying to decide between Kent County Show and the beach tomorrow.

MrABC · 12/07/2013 12:19

Wow, wow, wow!

Thats all for now as just popping my head in but water advice was perfect and all looking good.

TobyLerone · 12/07/2013 12:20

Yay! Excellent news, MrA. Congratulations to you and MrsABC :o

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 12/07/2013 12:21

toby the letter is to confirm everything is okay, it's only the call if it's not, so BREATHE Grin

MrABC yay! Woohoo for lovely scans!

SarahJ what's up love?

TobyLerone · 12/07/2013 12:22

Thanks, all. I shall attempt to unclench a bit :o

eccentrica · 12/07/2013 12:37

pod and pop I have an anterior placenta in this pregnancy, and also had one with my daughter.

It's true that it means you feel less movement, and you feel it later. I had to get checked out a few times with my daughter as I wasn't feeling 10 movements a day sometimes, in late pregnancy. I also didn't feel her moving regularly until 24 weeks.

This is the only problem though - it's not any sort of medical problem (don't mix it up with placenta praevia which is very serious!) It didn't cause any problems with her birth and no medical profsesional was ever concerned about it.

keskiviikko · 12/07/2013 13:20

Toby they phone you within a week if there is something wrong with the tests. Not sure if it's the best thing to do. I'm usually a very calm (read unemotional) person, but by the end of that phone call I couldn't breath. So I would just assume that they sent by third class elderly snail mail and you should get your letter soon. You should be able to phone your midwife to get the results if you want to put yourself out of the worry.

SarahJayne, you can come and join me in the fed up corner, and we can drown our sorrows with a nice glass of water! These past few weeks have really sucked the joy and happiness out of this pregnancy milarkey.

TobyLerone · 12/07/2013 13:22

Thank you, keski. And I'm sorry about all the worry you're having. I hope it's all sorted soon and you've nothing more to worry about.

Sleepthief · 12/07/2013 13:22

I felt DS1 move at about 17 weeks, DS2 at 9 weeks (! He was and is incredibly active and I was very thin Grin), DS3 from 14/15 weeks (he's quite little) and have been feeling this one from time to time since about 10/11 weeks. Basically IME it varies massively, even with subsequent pregnancies. But it is amazing and massively makes up for the shittiness of the first trimester Smile

SarahJayne321 · 12/07/2013 13:29

Just fed up in general, I'm fed up of sitting doing sweet fa. It's a bit like I'm wishing my time away, sure it's just one of those days!

carrotcakecupcake · 12/07/2013 13:29

extra so pleased for you, sounds like you deserve it!
humpty wonder if we got the same dress? My asos order came through the other day; decided to keep the ginormous dress tho and added a belt as was desperate for something loose to wear in this heat and couldn't be bothered sorting out the returns! Not v flattering but v comfy and perhaps more suitable as I get larger?
sultana she's a little border collie; managed to find some of her bounce while I was out at the shops so more her normal self now, still walking into things thoGrin

SarahJayne321 · 12/07/2013 13:30

And keski I think I'll do that, or maybe a decaffinated tea, lucky us! X
