Lie = Your glowing vs Truth = Your sweating, freezing, puking and an emotional basket!

Lie = After the first trimester your ms will disappear vs The truth = It will be there in the second trimester and the third..... and probably after you give birth! Get used to it!

Lie = You don't look even look pregnant vs The truth = whatever, you look pregnant from space!

Lets see what we learn from the second trimester! Grin Wink

Bikey Huge congratulations, enjoy your day.

farmersdaughter · 09/07/2013 09:07

{whispers} I'm not really very far from Newbury either.

farmersdaughter · 09/07/2013 09:10

Love enjoy your romantic weekend away. What a treat. Hope the weather holds for you.

Scans are amazing, tiny toes and a cute button nose! You don't have to have any bloods done if you don't want too. Like you said, it's love already.

farmersdaughter · 09/07/2013 09:19

I'm not sure about joining the NCT 2nd time around. It was brilliant when I was pregnant 1st time around. We made some lovely friends and it was very beneficial especially to me as I had a truly rotten time giving birth to DD. And my new NCT noticed that I was getting a but low and really supported me, so I didn't get PND.

However a refresher course just seems a bit of a waste as I'm pushing for a ELCS.

I am feeling great during the day, but utterly dreadful from about 5pm onwards. So it's a trade off, days spent playing with DD. evening spent looking green at DH. Scan on Monday, whoop!

Pop2014 · 09/07/2013 14:36

Haven't had a chance to proper catch up yet, I went away from mumsnet for a while after all the sad news at the beginning and was nervous about the scan. Had my scan and all was well, we had lots of airtime as baby wouldn't move for nt measurement but we got there in the end and all ok. Can't wait for my second scan now on the 23rd of August as I just need to know the flavour! I want to go shopping Smile. I've been trying to compare the scan photos to my daughter but honestly can't tell yet, hmmm hurry up August!

Good luck for everyone with scans looming and here's to a happy second trimester, fx.

Pop2014 · 09/07/2013 14:39

Ou, forgot to say, I was told I had an anterior placenta. All fine, just means the placentas at the front not the back. Has anyone got any experience of this? Thanks.

TobyLerone · 09/07/2013 14:48

AFAIK the only difference it makes is that you're unlikely to be able to feel the baby move until later because the front wall will be cushioned by placenta.

I'm struggling to keep up with the thread at the moment -- my brain is like a sieve Blush

Did we hear from pod?

fryingpantoface · 09/07/2013 15:32

Still not heard from Pod. I'll message her.

Congrats pop! My mom is convinced i'm having a boy, really convinced. I've no idea. Saying that, she thinks we'll end up having three kids, even though I've said this is the last pregnancy.

My 20 week scan is on 30 Aug. We're going to go have a private one at 16 weeks though, so just 4 weeks to go.

Mythreeknights · 09/07/2013 16:01

Hi all, I've been reading for a while but not writing as it has been impossible to keep up. I just wanted to say how lovely it has been reading about all the great scans. Mine is tomorrow - my first one all pregnancy- and I think I'll be 12+3. I'm obviously slightly bricking it that there's something wrong, or that there are two of them, or nothing there at all, so this is going to be a real relief to me to know what is going on in my increasingly podgy tummy. I presume my 20 week scan will be at the start of Sept, so most of you are well ahead in your pgs than me, but one step at a time hey! Wish me luck...x

Sultanajo · 09/07/2013 16:08

Congrats pop & good luck bikey and mythree.

No still not heard from pod....Sad

Properly melting today! Cant wait to jump in a cool bath with an ice lolly later!,Grin

Pop2014 · 09/07/2013 16:58

Thanks toby for info and everyone else for well wishes. It sure is hot, i've got the fan on and just flaked out on the sofa after a long day.

Hope Pod is ok....

I'm off to jump in imaginary ice pool!

TobyLerone · 09/07/2013 17:06

Also, BookTart? How are you doing?

carrotcakecupcake · 09/07/2013 17:42

Well I've finally caught up on all the chatter from the weekend - so lovely to hear of others due on the same day! We also just found out that close friends who had their baby this past January were also given the due date of Jan 15th, though their DD made an appearance on New Years Day!
So took a trip up to the "big city" (aka Plymouth) this weekend and managed to visit a few decent shops. Was NOT impressed when the size 12 mat jeans in H&M wouldn't even fit over my hips. Ended up with a pair of the supersoft jeans from New Look in black (someone else mentioned earlier?) and they are awesome, perfect for work (it's pretty casual). Their 12 came up a little big but I figured it's room to grown into, same with my size 12 Gap jeans. Bought a few things in the sale on ASOS but realized with mat things you really need to try them on. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to return a dress and t-shirt yet, or wait until I have a bump to fill them.
So nice to be able to tell people, both of my SILs were over the moon and v excited. Both dads had the same stuttering mumbles, saying how they are feeling their age, and of course them mums are delighted - just feel for my mum on the other side of the Atlantic.

Now off to soak my feet in some cold water as they are feeling horrible and fat, might request DH brings some ice lollies home too...

BookTart · 09/07/2013 18:39

Good luck for all the scans coming up :)

Is pod on holiday? I might have imagined that though...

keski, any news yet?

I had resolved to be sensible and wait until 16 weeks (do I see the midwife then? If not I might do a private gender scan), but this morning I was so miserable I phoned the midwife to ask if there was any way I could know the baby was okay after all the pain and spotting at the weekend. Obviously she didn't answer, so I phoned the labour ward. They told me that the spotting on its own is fine, the pain is normal, but both together aren't. The nurse could have caused the spotting with the swabs she did, but not the pain. So either something is wrong or I had spotting from the swab and normal pain at the same time. Anyway, no offer of a scan or a listen for the heartbeat or anything. So I called a scan place near my work and they can't fit me in this week. So I have bought a doppler instead Blush. I will have to hide it from D, who will be cross. I know I might not find anything myself, and if I don't I'll do another private scan, but if I do find the heartbeat then I'll feel better. Also, it is a long way to the 20 week scan without something to reassure me. But if I go crazy you'll all tell me, right? :)

Pain is still there on and off, but no more spotting. It isn't cramping, more shooting pains down either side of my uterus (I think). Swab results came back negative for anything, so none of this is caused by an infection either. Not much else I can do really except wait.

Hope you had a great graduation bikey!

sarahleanne · 09/07/2013 19:07

can someone please help me... DH is quitting smoking and gone 3 days now without a fag, just wondering if anyone wants to swap husbands?lol Grin, mine is a stressy cuntpuffin!!

on the plus side we have found a new house to move to which is lovely and right near our son and daughters school/nursery,woop!! secured the house today and move in 3 weeks (which I am dreading).

glad everyone has had good scans. and I am feeling a lot better today, phew!!

and never thought id say this but...piss off heat !! Angry way too hot for my liking.

sarahleanne · 09/07/2013 19:11

oh and booktart, ive had those shooting pains too and they can leave me a bit doubled over if I get up too fast.i think its just the uterus stretching as I had it with my other 2. I also had spotting and serious pain which woke me up at 2am one morning, I was scanned a week later and everything was fine.hope this helps

Toothfairy78 · 09/07/2013 19:51

Argh! Too darn stinkin' hot! Had to get up last night and put a damp towel over my tummy, cos the heat kept me awake :(

extra I work not far from Twickenham, so I'm counting you in!

SoBerkshire/Surrey/West London contingent is:
extra
science
farmers
pidgy
percy
...and me!

So it looks like I'm getting a bit of a bump. I was greeted when I got home today with a rub on the belly by DH as opposed to a kiss-hug-helloo! Anyone else getting the same?

BookTart · 09/07/2013 20:26

Cheers sarahleanne, that is reassuring to know. When my DP gave up smoking he started on ecigarettes, and he still uses them 2 and a half years later. It means he's given up the really bad stuff and I don't have to breathe it in, but he gets to keep the habit and the nicotine, which is fine. Maybe it would help your DH?

MrsVDB · 09/07/2013 20:34

tooth I'm also Surrey :)

Percypiglet · 09/07/2013 20:39

My Three I have my scan tomorrow too, am 12 weeks exactly today. Am also having same paranoia and scared about the scan. And so is my DH who apparently went researching on mumsnet earlier! Good luck and fingers crossed for all with scans up and coming. x

rosalux · 09/07/2013 21:18

Another scan tomorrow. This will be no3 this pregnancy so I should be calm really but I'm totally not as last one was almost 3 weeks ago. Aargh!!!

Good luck everyone and fx for good news all round

X

sarahleanne · 09/07/2013 22:42

Ah yeah book, dh is on something similar to e cigarettes, I'm not sure what It is exactly. Its called e-go or something it seems to be working but he is still stressed :(

BuntCadger · 09/07/2013 23:25

Sorry I've been rubbish, am totally shattered and will catch up tomorrow. I thought you were meant too feel more energetic at this stage (13+2) but I'm knackered! Nite zzzzz

Sultanajo · 10/07/2013 06:19

Well this sucks! Dont have to be up for another half hour and yet I am too hot to sleep, which means I will probably be flagging by the end of the day!,Angry

Good luck to everyone with scans today! Keeping everything crossed for lots of wrigglers! Grin

LittlePeaPod · 10/07/2013 06:28

Hi ladies

Sorry not been on for a while but DP and I have had a nightmare. We moved into our house in December (old house needs work doing). Came back from holiday and found on of the pipes in a room upstairs had burst and flooded through the ceiling into our main room. Had to get dryers is and try to sort insurance. Total nightmare and both rooms stink of damp which has really aggregated my HG....... Comedy of bloody disasters!!

Sorry not had a chance to catch up on the news. Will do tonight but I hope you are all well.....
